Cast of Characters: Alex Summers, Emma Frost

Alex Summers has posed:
So. This time, Alex picked the restaurant, and while it wasn't the height of haute cusine, it was a really good Chicago style pizza place. meaning that Emma and Alex split four pieces, because, as Alex explains, a proper Chicago pizza is at least an inch and a half thick with good sauce on top and handmade sausage. At the least, it was a nice comfortable place, all wood booths and green cushions and ole Italian memorabilia on the walls. Perhaps slightly kitchy.

But after, when Emma expressed seeing his place since it was nearby, Alex couldn't really say no. And so home they go to a nice midrange apartment building, with keys to get in, then a short elevator ride up to the seventh floor.

The apartment itself is a simple one bedroom, and opening the door that's obvious. There's a small kitchen area with an island separating it from the main room, with the basics of gas stove, refrigerator, and microwave, with an attached pantry with shelves for canned goods and such. Tiled floor in white with gold flecks and geometric lines. The apartment itself has polished hard wood floors, with a living room with a large, comfortable looking black leather couch and a coffee table with some pillows on it opposite a TV on the wall, attached to a PS4, and next to a tall rack of blurays and DVDs, as well as a router. There's also a desk off to the side, really just a table with a pull out keyboard, in front of which sits a comfortable looking if battered brown recliner where a laptop and monitor are set up with a wireless keyboard and trackball. There's a glass door leading out to a balcony hidden behind white blinds, and a shelf with odd knickknacks on it, then another that bulges with what look lext text books and other academic books, with a few others mixed in. There's a battered looking Kindle sitting on the coffee table, along with an old plate or two and a game controller. There's an older model Roomba tucked away in a corner in its charger. A short hall leads down towards what looks like a bedroom and bathroom. There's some Navajo sand paintings on the wall, and a metal sculpture of a sun , half of it carved away to take advantage of reverse space, with a fiery halo around it. A battered wooden and very ugly foo dog is perched on top of the bluray case, lording over all it surveys.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma steps into Alex's apartment, looking around, not even hiding the fact that she's checking out the place nosily. She's pretty full from the pizza-- not really her first choice, but it wasn't bad at all!-- and while she's "dressed down" in white corderoys and a tailored white v-neck graphic t-shirt with a cartoon-style diamond on it (and pristine white Chuck Taylors), she still seems to command an aura of control and perfection no less than she would in one of her custom tailored business suits.

In fact, she is so openly nosy that she sashays into the living area and starts pouring through the titles on the Blurays and DVDs, absently patting the foo dog on it's immobile head. Then a glance over the books on their shelves. Some look more worn than others.

"Well, from the way you'd mentally cringe when I've suggested this before," Emma says, eyes sweeping over the dirty plates, "I thought there would be a lot more dirty laundry laying about."

Alex Summers has posed:
It's a mix of things....mostly action movies, some anime, the complete Indiana Jones collection, Alan Quartermain and the City of Gold, a collection of classic zombie movies and remakes like Night of the Living Dead and Resident Evil, Mythbusters, Tremors, Pitch Black and the Riddick Saga, some martial arts that are more obscure like Chocolate and the Protector, or foreign language movies like the Raid. Also a copy of the Da Vinci code still in plastic.

Most of one doorhas a shelf full of various Playstation games...action games mostly again. Not a lot beyond that really, perhaps he prefers digital games.

"I actually did the laundry..." Alex notes, walking over to scoop up the plates and carry them off to the kitchen quickly. Pretty much the moment it came up he might have Emma dropping by at some point to see, he did a definitley cleaning protect!

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma gives him a grin. "Mm. I see. Should I scan you to see if you shoved things under the bed or in a closet?" she teases. She checks out the artwork, taking more time looking at those pieces than she did looking over his movie and game collection. The knickknacks get a casual once over as well.

"How is your dissertation coming?" she asks, glancing towards the shut doors she assumes lead to a bedroom and bathroom. Then she moves over to the island, peering around the small kitchen. "I hope I haven't been distracting you too much from it."

Alex Summers has posed:
Ah. It should also be mentioned that the desk has a pile of books with various colored markers on it, and another pile of marked up paper printouts of text with different areas highlighted or marked in pen. Also an old beer bottle half hidden on a small end table next to the recliner.

"That'd be cheating." Alex points out goodnaturedly. "Though I did take out all the trash or put things in the closet, pretty much."

The knickknacks appear to be little archeological odds and ends. A pot shard, a hunk of raw amethyst, a geode, a small fossilized talon, a replica Roman gladius, a battered silver crucifix missing its gemstones, etc.

The door to the bedroom and bathroom are not shut, though the angle makes it hard to see into the bathroom, other than to note this is one of these apartments with the bathroom sink outside inset in the hall with some scattered toiletries visible...mostly a razor, a toothbrush holder, etc. The bedroom is open though, and a unmade bed can be seen, a queen sized with burgundy sheets and cherrywood headboard, under which are stored several plastic bins, with a matching cherrywood bedside table with drawers, a lamp, and a picture frame on it facing towards the bed. Hard to see more, though there's also a laundry basket with clothes in it tucked back in the corner.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Cheating? I prefer to think of it as using my natural talents," Emma replies cheekily. "What is your dissertation on, anyway?" she pads over towards the bedroom door, peeking inside, frowning slightly at the unmade bed and resisting the urge to rectify that in short order.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex hmmphs, then says. "The official title is 'Geophysical Study of Complex Meteorite Impact Structures', which is a fancy way of saying I like digging up meteorites and figuring out how they got there, how hard they hit, and what they were composed of when they did. " He walks over to lean down, tugging out a small rounded rock with streaks of metal in it, hefting it. "Like this one. Found it on the second dig I went on, actually, and it's what got me curious. Understanding how it got there, what falling from space meant for it, what it's composed of, all of those things." He offers Emma the small meteorite, if she wants to heft it.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma takes the small rock-like object carefully, looking at it warily. "Its not radioactive or going to make me bald or something?" she says with a lifted brow. She runs her fingertips over it gently. "Its very interesting looking," she admits. She carefully hands it back to him.

Alex Summers has posed:
"No, just iron and a few other trace metals." Alex says with a chuckle. "Purified iron mostly. It's why they have all those stories historically of people making weapons out of meteorites, it was a higher quality of metal for the final weapons." He takes it back and sets it back on the shelf. "Anyway...oddly, something that's not unhelpful for understanding what plasma does to a variety of materials." he adds dryly, shrugging slighlty. He smiles a bit. "Do you have a hobby? Didn't seem like you were a collector, but...then again, I didn't see any band shirts in your closet either..."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma looks a bit uncomfortable at that. "No. I... don't really keep things." She shrugs, and moves to take a seat on the couch. "Hm. Wonder what I'd find in your closet," she teases, changing the subject a bit. "More magic rocks? A dozen shirts that are all the same except the color?" She grins at him, just teasing him a bit.

Alex Summers has posed:
"I'm not THAT bad....' he says, agrieved. "I mean, other than t-shirts...I have a ton of black ones, or grey ones, but I wear them under buttonups when it's cold." He wanders over to sit down next to her, tilting his head slightly. "I'm curious though, really....I mean...I saw that picture you keep of your family. You looked like you were definitely into stuff then."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma frowns a little. "I... just dont have time for those sorts of things. Just work, really. Hobbies take away time from getting things done." She isn't lying, exactly. "I suppose the closest thing to a collection I have is clothing." She leans against him.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex slides an arm around them. "Sure, I get it. You're a busy woman." he murmurs, reaching up to kiss Emma on the forehead lightly. "But in that closet, how many things are white and not business or gala related outfits? Just...relaxed things you'd wear at home. Band shirts you like. Shirts with cute kittens on them. Silly outfits someone like Janet talked you into buying that you've never actually got around to wearing. That sort of thing?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma frowns again, looking away. Her expression is colder and more distant. "I dont have any silly outfits," she says finally. "Those would serve no purpose. And my brother was more the band shirt type."

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex tilts his head, a bit of concern starting to tinge his thoughts. For Emma. "...never?" he wonders quietly. "That's the point of a silly outfit. That you like them. That you want to wear them and you don't care what people think if you do." He frowns. "...you should be able to do that." He sighs a bit. "Sorry, I don't mean to poke, I'm just...I want to know more about you." He pauses. "Why white?" he wonders next.

Emma Frost has posed:
"I look good in it. It is pristine, so it commands some respect immediately. Plus. I'm a Frost." She gives him a weak smile. It's a joke! Ha? "It makes me look untouchable and perfect. So." she shrugs. "And if everything in my wardrobe is white, it's easier to coordinate."

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex raises a brow at that, smiling a bit. "Mmm. So when Frozen came out...you didn't once wonder what you'd look like in a blue dress like Elsa?" he teases softly. "I mean, if you're going for an icy thing...though I think you'd look beautiful in lots of colors."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma laughs a little. "Mm. Not something I'd wear myself," she shakes her head, sighing. "Its just... my clothing is like armor, Alex. I feel stronger in what I wear." She is obviously a little agitated at having to think about it. "It... I just prefer it."

Alex Summers has posed:
"Sure. I get that, when you're out dealing with people who might look down on you for being young and blonde and beautiful if you didn't build that kind of armor." Alex says after a moment of thought. "But...you don't have to use armor around me, I guess I'm saying. I don't care what you wear, as long as it's you wearing it." he murmurs, kissing Emma's cheek softly since she's looking away. "Hmmm. You know..." he says after a moment. "You can wear whatever you want of mine? Or just in here. Where it's just us, if it bothers you to do it anywhere else?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma looks a little amused. "You already get me out of my armor as it is," she points out, peeking back at him. "And I would look ridiculous in your clothes, Alex. We arent even close to the same size." She lets out a deep breath. "I dont want to look ridiculous for you. I want you to want me, to need me. Not to laugh at me."

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex lets out a little chuckle, then reaches up to brush a thumb against her cheek. "Emma. You can totally read my mind and know I am telling complete truth that there are few things sexier than watching your girlfriend wear your clothes, specially when they don't fit well." he says teasingly. "Especailly where they end up being low cut."

Emma Frost has posed:
She gives him a slight pout, disbelief clear on her face. "Mm. You say that now. All I can see is how utterly ridiculous I would look." She sighs again, flickering her attention around the apartment, looking for something to distract herself with.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex hmmphs, then tickles Emma's side lightly. "You doubt me, young Miss Frost!" His eyes twinkle a bit. "I can guarantee that if I give you one of my button up shirts and you change into it and nothing else, I will not consider you looking ridiculous in the slightest."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Is that so?" Emma looks at him, stifling a giggle from the tickling. "Hmph." She pulls herself to her feet. "Let's see then."

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex grins and stands up, then motions Emma after him, heading into the bedroom. It's...not too bad. Not uncluttered. There's a cherrywood dresser just to the left of the door, a small walk in closet, a tall bookshelf, a short bookshelft (that is under the window to fit), and a workbench with some archeological tools on it, and almost some battered dusty looking boots and jacket laid over, along with a messenger bag that's a bit older and cracked, but looks sturdy. Well used, would be the polite word.

Alex walks over to his closet and roots around, then pulls out a cream white button up shirt, long-sleeved, then presents it for inspection, followed by a light green shirt and a lavender shirt. He ponders the white shirt, then makes a show of putting it back in the closet, before replacing it with a light blue shirt, before offering them as choices.
