Date of Scene: 09 February 2022
Location: Sunny's Lair above a movie theater
Synopsis: Jennifer tracks down Sunny to check in. And to catch up.
Cast of Characters: Jennifer Kale, Sunrise Aberdeen

Jennifer Kale has posed:
It's been a little while since Jennifer Kale met the modern vampire at a club. And while Sunrise Aberdeen has certainly not been anything she couldn't handle, she's now on the radar of the sorceress. Can't just have a vampire roaming loose in the city without at least checking in.

Jen curses her responsible streak. She punches up a number on her phone, then curses again.

Why does she feel like a parole officer?

Sunrise Aberdeen has posed:
The vampire furrows her brow as she glances down at her battered cellphone. The ringing echoes through the attic of the old movie theater she's currently hiding out in. Through the floorboards she can hear the late night kung fu movie roaring along. Vintage movies rock. She looks at her phone, not really recognizing the number.

She finally presses it to her ear and answers. "....Yo?"

Jennifer Kale has posed:
C'mon, pick up. Pick-up, pick-up, pick-up. Jen really wasn't looking forward to locating Sunshine the hard way. The line clicks and she hears that familiar voice.

"Sunny? This is Jennifer. Nothing serious. Just wanted to check in and see how you were getting along."

And to see if you've murdered anyone this week.

"Listen. You up for some company, maybe? I thought we could meet or something. Catch up. There's been some interesting shit been going on in the city lately. Some new people you should be aware of." Pause.

"Where the hell are you, anyway? I can't quite make out the sounds in the background."

Sunrise Aberdeen has posed:
"It's...my lair," she finally says. She rolls over on her stolen futon and ends up on her tummy. She considers what to say for a moment, and then speaks again. "I mean...sure? I'm not really up to anything, I guess. Where do you wanna meet?"

The girl sits up a bit. "Jennifer? The girl from the van?"

Jennifer Kale has posed:
The girl from the van. That's one way to put it...

"It was your van, if I remember right. And yeah, it's me. I'm glad you remembered." Jen considers for a moment. "If you don't mind, I can teleport directly to you." A sorceress can do that, after all. "Or if you'd like to keep your privacy, just pick an address and I'll meet you there."

Sunrise Aberdeen has posed:
"Hard to forget."

She blinks and glances about. The attic of the old movie theater, cluttered with old posters and display sets, with her futon and tangled sheets in the corner. "I mean...it's not fancy but...go ahead."

Jennifer Kale has posed:
"I'm not a fancy girl." Jennifer replies. "Okay, hang on a sec. I need to do a quick casting first so I'm gonna hang up, but don't go anywhere. Be right there."

The line clicks and Jennifer takes a deep breath, exhaling slowly. Divination spells require the right frame of mind, after all. And to teleport, she'll need to make it pretty accurate. Eyes close and her hands move as if by themselves, weaving through the spell.

Searching... searching... searching...

Gotcha. She's close enough that Jen can do this in one hop.

Just a minute or so later, Jennifer Kale steps out of thin air into the theater attic.

"So do you want to hear about the ancient sorceror first or the superhero from the future?" she begins.
