Date of Scene: 09 February 2022

Synopsis: Megan catches up with Daniel and Susan again and asks for their help.
Cast of Characters: Megan Gwynn, Susan Sullivan, Daniel Ketch

Megan Gwynn has posed:
It's been some time since the battle with evil elves on Christmas Eve. Since then, Megan has been doing more research into where they came from and who's behind it all. But she knew she couldn't do it alone. And she knew she didn't have a lot of powerful magical allies to call upon..Except..Maybe she does.

Susan and Daniel had both been invited to coffee at the coffee bean, almost two months later. Okay fine, so better late than never right? She had even offered to buy them coffee and if they put in requests she would have ordered ahead of time.

Now she waits patiently at a corner table by the window, wondering if they'll actually come.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan enters. She's dressed more warmly than before. Her hair is short, growing out, but only visible after she takes off her hat and stuffs it into one of her big pockets. You could stuff an iPad down in those pockets! She shifts a bit as she takes her coat off, revealing a sweater beneath it. She finds Megan with her gaze and smiles, moving to her. "Hey," she says, hanging her coat on the back of a chair. "Been a while," she confesses.

Daniel Ketch has posed:
Daniel arrives late, managing to drop his motorcycle relatively close to the cafe by sheer chance. Not leaving it in an alleyway this time. Why tempt the devil more? In truth he almost didn't come. Megan's eternal and somewhat crazy good mood rubs him wrong; maybe it is a threat to his grim worldview or something.

But those critters they found near the library were dangerous, so it might be better to hear what she knows. He stops into the Bean and yeah... mop of pink hair. There she is. He waves in a rather laconic way as he comes closer.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn has already ordered two coffees, but hasn't added the milk and sugar, laying them on the table next to the coffees. She's not sure their preference but grins as she spies Susan first and breaks out into a smile. "Susan, hey! I'm sooo glad you could make it! How you been?" she pushes one of the coffees towards her. "You DO drink coffee, right?"

As for herself, she is quite happy with her peppermint hot chocolate. Because seriously, do you want to see her after a sip of coffee? It's even worse than sugar on this hyper fairy. She takes another couple of sips of her hot choco, careful not to burn her mouth on it as she waits for Daniel to come and makes a face. "Bah, I'll bet he doesn't even show. he's such a party poop--"

Oh heeey, is that Mr eternally grumpy now? she grins and waves him over, as pink and as cheerful as ever. "Hiii! I'm so glad you came! For a moment I thought you might stand me up!" she grins and winks at him, that playful cheerful smile never leaving her face.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"Nope!" Susan says, enthusiastically. She looks toward Daniel and inclines her head as she adjusts herself into her chair a bit. The expression on her face says she recognizes him from somewhere, but-- "Wait, aren't you the guy from the park? When the trees' qi was being soured?"

Daniel Ketch has posed:
"That's me, Daniel Ketch," replies the auburn-haired young man allegedly eternally grumpy. "You said you had some info," he replies to Megan as to explain his presence.

He will have his coffee black. Well, mostly. He does pour something from a flask he draws out of a pocket. Irish coffee is a thing, you see. "I don't have a lot of time," he lies. "But I guess I will listen."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles and nods to Susan, "Yeah, you two have met before..Susan, this is Daniel. Daniel, meet Susan." she tilts her head as she watches him slip something into his coffee, arching a brow and smirking but saying nothing of it.

"So..How you been?" a nods to the grumpy one and she sighs, drawing a breath. "Okay...This isn't just a social call. I..Have some new information. And I really need your help. I dont think I can do this alone." And then suddenly, she seems really tired, not so chipper as before. All business, and maybe there is a new fear in her eyes this time too.

Megan sets down the hot chocolate and pulls out what looks like a wrinkled, folded map from her bag, a map of New York specifically. It has some red circles drawn on it, pinpointing the three places where the magical attacks had occurred.

"Take a look." she places the map on the table so the three of them can see it. Oddly enough the three circles are joined with three red lines..Forming a triangle. The very center of the triangle falls somewhere in Manhattan.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"More bad qi events, I assume," Susan says. She leans over and looks at the map. She points to a spot on it. "That's where we fought the tree things. The little goblins or gremlins or whatever they were."

Daniel Ketch has posed:
"Well, it was some kind of sea monster the first time," mutters Daniel, looking at the circles. He missed one, but that is okay for him. It is not as if there was not enough trouble going on for a lifetime.

"Why the red lines?" He asks, "why do you think there is only three? Maybe they will go here for a squarish... okay, no, but it could be a pentagon if you want neat geometry. Pentagons are more common in magic events."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods. "Right. The gremlins there..The fish monster under the bridge.." she points to a second point on the map which Daniel will remember. "And the third..Giant spider demons." she smirks and shrugs, "Piece of cake. Only..Someone is clearly behind it all. Some powerful sorcerer has orchestrated the whole event. I can only assume it's part of some sort of ritual."

Openning a gate of some sort by tapping into magical ley lines that weakenned the walls between our world and the next. One happened during Halloween. Another around Christmas. Both very powerful times of the year as far as ley lines are concerned, times when the walls between our world and the next are at their weakest."

She nods to Daniel. "Right, a Pentagram would work too, and I imagine they plan to hit these other two points at some point.." she points to the other two points that would make up a pentagram. "I've already sealed two of those points of power with my dagger so it shouldn't be a problem, but I think the central point, in Manhattan will be where their focal point is. Only.." she frowns. "That's of course where all the trouble with the Angels is happening. And..It seems that my dagger doesn't work too well against them. Hence why I need help. And, I need more information about these Angels, if any of you have some insight?"

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan shakes her head. "I'm out," she says, standing. "I'm not dealing with these angels. I'm just a girl who knows some meditation and martial arts tricks." She moves behind her chair before picking up her long, wintery coat and swirling it around herself. At the end of that, she shoves her arms through the sleeves.

Daniel Ketch has posed:
"They were playing some sick game of death and destruction," comments Daniel, sipping his coffee. "I think they are gone, although I think Manhattan will need weeks to rebuild and bury the dead. A lot of people refused to leave."

Daniel grunts. "What do you need to know? They were just more supernatural jerks that think they are better than 'lowly mortals' and decided murder everyone was the best way to 'fix' us."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, shaking her head. "Wait! Please dont go..I can't do this alone." she glances up at Susan, "I don't want to deal with them either, but..If this portal isnt sealed, it'll invite even more danger in. Something bigger than that sea creature, those goblins or the spiders. Plus, there are still lots of stragglers in that part of town. People could get hurt, even killed. If we're careful, we wont even need to fight angels. And if we DO confront them, I promise I'll port you both out to safety..At least consider it?"

To Daniel she nods. "I guess, I just need to know their weakness. And why they're immune against my souldagger which has never failed me before.." she sighs, "And why they're even trying to destroy humanity, or why the angel Michael saved my life, and told me he believes in fairies.." she sighs, looking tired, needing answers.

To Daniel, she smiles faintly and nods. "Right, soo....I wonder if maybe Michael still believes in humanity? It's something at least..?"

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"Not talking about angels," Susan says, "not looking at angels," she adds, "not touching angels," she concludes. "If you want my help with saving people, fine, but I'm not dealing with with the angels," she repeats.

Daniel Ketch has posed:
"There are wards against them," offers Daniel. "Big guns work. Magic works even better. Michael was the leader and he wanted to kill everyone, he is an asshole. Also, he seemed to be Superman-level powerful, so I am not surprised your dagger didn't work. Probably most things don't work."

He finishes his coffee and looks at Megs again. "But they left. They lost their little sick game. You don't have to worry about them. At least until they decide to try again."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods to Daniel. "Right. And like I said, I promise I will port you out at the slightest hint of trouble, should it come to that." she smiles at Susan. "Come on, please? I promise I wont ever ask you something like this again. Ooh! I almost forgot. I wanted to give you this at Christmas time, but.." but she ended up passing out after sealing the last portal and the thought slipped her mind.

Megan reaches into her bag and pulls out two little boxes wrapped in silver paper with little red and green ribbons wrapped around them. "Here!" she hands one to each of them, and should they open them up, they'll find some adorably decorated home baked gingerbread cookies. And some candy canes and hersheys kisses chocolates.

"I guess it's a bit late for Christmas, but I always gift my friends." she beams. Hey, at least she got the hang of baking cookies finally.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan purses her lips. She huffs a bit as Megan gives her a present, "Yeah, but Megan's right," she says to Daniel. "If they left things behind, or if this was set up under cover of their little operation, we should probably not let it continue to exist." She looks at Megan. "What did you do to close the other ones?"

Daniel Ketch has posed:
"Pretty sure they didn't left any nasty surprise behind, but I'll ask around," states Daniel, looking at the present. He didn't even celebrated Christmas. Oh well... unwrapping now.

Cookies. That is a practical present for a guy that is not eating well lately. "Thanks, I like cookies," he admits, biting one of them and pocketing the rest.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods to Susan in agreement. "Right! So it's settled then. We'll go in and out, I'm sure we wont run into any trouble and be home before dinner!" she beams, all sunshine and rainbows again. As for how she sealed the others, Megan shrugs, "Hm, well it was pretty simple. Maybe a bit crude but..My dagger basically has the ability to nullify magic. I just had to draw upon whatever magic was working to keep those portals open and that managed to do the trick. I suppose there is a simple, less crude method but.."

She sighs, "Like I've said before, I'm still new to magic. I just wish I could find a proper tutor. But this new portal, if it's open and it's bigger than the last..I'll have to pour even more of my own energy into it which will leave me open and more vulnerable. That's why I need the backup. And I really appreicate if you could both help me."

when Daniel actually thanks her, her eyes widen in surprise. Gasp, a compliment from mister grumpy pants? But she wont harass him about it. Instead, Megan just nods ands smiles, "You're welcome! I'm glad you like 'em, I made them myself!"

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan pockets hers, assuming it to be the same. "I'll eat sweets after," she says. "Since I'm apparently part of this, let's get it over with, shall we? And the sooner the better. I don't want another thing breaking into the city that's going to hurt people."

Daniel Ketch has posed:
"Really?" Daniel looks at the cookie in his hand as if expecting to start dancing or something Megan-silly. Nope, he eats it quickly. "Well, good work." Hey, he is being sincere; it is not the same as being happy. "If it is too hard for you let my 'partner' handle the closing the portals. He can destroy most anything."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles and nods. "Right. We can meet outside this coffee shop on Saturday night, around 8? I'll send you out texts, then I can port us over there in a synch. It should be pretty simple, check the place out for anything out of the ordinary, make sure whatever escaped, if anything has escaped, is dealt with. Seal the portal. And then we should be good. In and out, no sweat."

She grins and nods to Daniel, looking quite happy as he snaps up those cookies. Really, she never hears anything positive from him so this is kinda promising. "Partner..?" she arches a brow and smiles and nods. "I would *really* appreciate that. I mean, I know you hate..Letting him out..But I really do appreciate all your help. And yours too!" she nods to Susan. "So. Any more questions?"

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan huffs. "Not great with the fact I'm being roped into this," she says. "I'm going, now. I'll see you when you're ready to get this over with. Please don't make a habit of volunteering me for dangerous whatever, yeah?" She looks to Daniel. "It's nice to formally meet you, Daniel." She looks back to Megan. "Megan," she acknowledges. She then heads for the door.

Daniel Ketch has posed:
Daniel shrugs. His main problem with the Ghost Rider is how he wrecks his life. If he summons him when it is planned and it is necessary, things would be okay. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. Or rather, crime never sleeps and the Ghost Rider doesn't sleep either. But Daniel could use a break.

"Saturday at eight, fine," he decides, "nice to meet you, Susan." He glances up and down the winged girl. "Don't get into trouble, you." And he heads out.
