A day in the life of a college student

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen is out on the quad today. Luckily there are places with roofs over them so one can set out in a coat even if the weather is bad. It is not to bad today though, so Bart is just wearing a light jacket, and has a decent amount of food on the table in front of him, and other hiding in his bag next to him. Bart is in between classes, and while he could run off to be about anywhere, he makes sure to spend time out in the public eye, so people don't start thinking where is that kid between classes.

It's a sunny, if cold, winter's day. Unusual that it's so sunny since the city usually gets pretty decent cloud cover. Someone's probably messing with a weather-control device somewhere. Emiko is just going to enjoy the extra bit of warmth as she moves along the walkway. Teashade sunglasses perched on her nose, she wears a black knit cap on her head, a crimson scarf around ehr throat, an expensive-looking black leather bomber over a white chenille sweater, some black skinny jeans, and thick-soled and expnsive-looking winter boots. It pays to have a rich brother sometimes. She's staring down at her phone, then glancing up and looking at the nearest building, lips pursed up as she casts a glance around the area. "This map is terrible.." Looking around, she spots Bart sitting still amongst all the students walking back and forth. Trotting in his direction, she lifts a hand.

"Hey! Hey, think you can help me?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks up from eating a bit of ketchup on the side of his mouth looking a little like a deer in the headlights for a moment, but he chews and swallows, before wiping his face and mouth. "Um sure, what you need?" He answers her and will take one of the spare napkins to wipe a seat off to make sure it is clean for her, and motions for her to join him.

"Sorry, I'm interrupting your..." she looks at the food on the table, "lunch? I'm trying to find the admissions office but the map from the email seems to be both backwards and upside down and so small I can't actually tell if I'm in the right place..." Pausing, Emiko clears her throat and offers a sheepish grin, "Sorry, Emiko Queen. Nice to meet you."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will wipe his hands makin sure they are clean and says "Bart Allen" He says as he introduces himself. He will point over towards one of the building and says "The office is over there, but they are closed for lunch right now, should be back, in about thirty minutes or so. Your welcome to have a seat and wait, so your new here?"

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko follows his pointing, peering at the building, then back to the map on her phone. "Tch. I knew I should have gotten a printout of it..." Shaking her head, she tucks her phone into her jacket pocket and takes the offered seat. "Thanks Bart. That obvious?" She flashes a quick grin and gives a nod. "Yeah, just moving here from Starling City. My brother seems to think that I need a college education in order to be a 'functional adult' so he 'suggested' that I try ESU. Buuuuuuut, he's willing to foot the bill, so I can't be TOO mad."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods a bit to this and says "Well not knowing where the administration building was, was a big hint." He offers with a smile, and nods a bit to the last bit "My grandpa pretty much said the same thing, but I am working to pay it with a bit of a scholarship to help out. He motions towards the food. "If your hungry feel free to take something, I can get you a drink from the machine." He motions towards one.

Chuckling, Emi nods at him, "Yeah I guess it would be." She looks over the food on the table and gives a shake of her head, "Thanks, I'm cool. A drink would be nice though. They got water bottles in the machine? My treat, though. Since you're being the helpful one."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, a bit and says "Yes, I believe they do." He offers a smile, and says "So, you plan on living on campus or going to find yourself a place in town? If so I might be able to help, but when I was looking for them, I was mainly looking at lower rent places.

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Cool. You want water? Soda? Juice?" Emi pushes up to her feet to head towards the machine, plugging in some cash, pushing buttons, getting them both drinks. Ambling back over, she shakes her head, "Definitely not looking to stay on campus. I mean, no offense but I... kinda need my own space. Might see if there's a loft or something available." She flashes a quick grin towards Bart, "So any help you can offer is welcome."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will get one of the high caffeine drinks from her. He nods a bit to this and says "Well, It depends how much your looking to spend, I have a nice place, but don't think there are any openings (at least for non superheroes.) He hmms in thought and names a few of the places near the college giving her an idea on how much they are.

Emiko Queen has posed:
"I might have a lead on a place, but I have to see if they're still accepting applications. So I want to make sure I have another place lined up, just in case," Emiko lifts a shrug and smiles across at him, "Price isn't an issue. Oliver will probably grump at me if I try to get something in a 'bad' neighborhood. I say it's New York and I don't know that there's really a 'good' neighborhood, but I try to indulge him when he's being all protective."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hmms and nods his head a bit and says "Oliver Queen, he is like a big shot in Starlight city aint he?" It seems Bart has at least heard the name before. "Well, if you got your brother's backing, then there is a lot of place you can consider I did not." He had those who would have paid for his place, but Bart is trying, even if he maybe getting a discount on where he lives.

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emi turns an amused glance towards him, looking at him over the rims of her sunglasses, "Yeah, something like that." Queen is to Starlight City as Wayne is to Gotham, so this amuses her greatly. "Well sure, but that doesn't mean I want to immediately go for the more expensive options. I'm not some genius billionaire playboy to go throwing money around when I don't have to." She lifts a shrug, "Long as there's space for my stuff and my workout space, I'm good."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods a bit and says "Well you definitely don't look like a playboy." He stresses the word boy just slightly. "So, your wanting to get a place for working out too? You looking at an in home gym, or just a yoga and other exercises that don't take up much space." He looks her over and thinks she is probably into more than just yoga, but keeps quiet about that.

Emiko Queen has posed:
She glances down at herself and chuckles, "I know that the sweater isn't the best means of showing it off, but I promise, it's all girl parts underneath. So no, not a playboy." Emi puts the same emphasis on 'boy' that Bart himself did. She chuckles and shakes her head, "Definitely looking for a larger space for the workouts. In fact, if I can, I'll try to get a larger space that can be the gym with a loft above. I'm not much of a cook, so I don't need a juge kitchen or anything."

Bart Allen hmms and nods a bit to this and says "Might be able to find some place that is a closed shop or something with an apartment over it. Might have to redo the front some so folks don't think it is a business but other than that should work well.

Emiko Queen has posed:
"If I can find something like that, I'll probably have some of the windows taken out and the rest blacked out. Last thing I want is to put myself in a fishbowl while I'm working out," Emi lets out a small laugh and grins towards him. She lifts both brows, "Do you know the best property app to use for New York? Like... Zillow or Apartments for Rent or...?"

Bart Allen chuckles a bit and shrugs a bit. He runs a hand through his hair "I just sorta ran around and got the listings in papers and such and checked them out the old fashion way. I would think Zillow if your wanting more than a standard apartment.

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Hm... you must be very fast or very patient." Emiko chuckles and shakes her head a little. Pulling out her phone, she does a quick google search, clicking through a few sites before she pauses, "OH hey, now THIS is something!" She flips the phone towards him to show a dilapidated building sandwiched between others. A rundown space south of Union Park on 4th Ave. "Check it out, it's got a huge two-floor psace, so plenty of room for workout space AND living space. Looks kinda beat up so I'll have to refurbish it, but that should be a problem. And I'm sure Ollie will be happy to help me get set up."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hmms and nods a bit to this and gives her a bit about the area, it aint his normal area, but he knows a bit about the city it seems. He munches a bit and when she looks at her phone he swaps a bag of food on the table for one on the table at speed so to hide the amount he is eating a bit.

Emiko Queen has posed:
"I think as long as it's not like... crime central, Oliver will be okay. He won't -like- it, I'm sure he'd rather have in a highrise on the Upper West Side or something, but I'd rather have this." Emiko gives a nod, sending a text to her brother with the link attached so he can see it. She tucks her phone away again and smiles at Bart, "Thanks! You have been incredibly helpful. Is there some way I can pay you back?" She glances at the food on the table, then back to him with a lifted brow and a half-smile, "Dinner maybe?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen he will raise a brow a moment, but seems to think about it only a moment, and nods his head to this "We could do dinner sometime, but warning you I have a bit of an appetite." He motions towards the food. "So, what type of classes are you considering taking?"

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Seems the best way I can show appreciation, help out your budget a bit," Emiko flashes a grin as she motions towards the food herself. "Anything you like or don't like, so I know where not to take you?" The question has her smiling, "Criminal justice. Technically I also want to get a degree in social services, but first things first. I have to know the laws and systems before I can really know how to work around and in them. And as many language electives as possible. Helps to be able to communicate with the people you want to help, right?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, and says "I am working on being a Vet, I am taking my med classes now, but do take some languages and such as electives. I work at the zoo in Gotham, so I get some hands on experience too."

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Ahhhhhhhhh. How is the Land of Eternal Night?" Emiko glances at him with a faint echo of a grin as she uncaps her water bottle and takes a drink. Twisting it back into place, she smiles, "Being a vet is good. You want to help animals, I want to help people. Not sure if I want to work inside the system or bein an outside advocate yet, but I want to help people."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods and helping people is a good thing. I help them when I can too, but have animals just make me go all awwww." He admits. "Gotham aint that bad, but I will admit I work there and live here. The Hyper loop is very handy." (Just maybe not to him)

Emiko Queen has posed:
"I bet! I wouldn't mind going to the zoo sometime. I hear Gotham has some interesting animals there on occasion. Like.. you guys take in the 'exotic' pets from the supervillains when they get busted?" Emiko flashes a brin, propping one foot onto the bench set and setting her chin on her knee. "What's the weirdest animal you ever had there?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hmms and says "Well, the joker fish are a bit odd, but pretty much everyone knows about them by now. " He thinks about it foe a moment and says "Not sure what weirdest would but most rare is probably some of the birds we have taken in. Most of the villain's who use animal don't get to attached to them. The only one I can think of who is really attached is not really a villain any more, Harley Quinn."

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko blinks, then raises a hand a little, "Joker fish? I... I don't know those." She offers a small grimace, "I was raised abroad, by my mother. It's only been the last few years I've really been around, and then it's been like... some Starling City, some Seattle, some San Francisco... but pretty much just Starling City. So I'm not like, totally up to date on the weirdness." She lifts a small shrug, then smiles at him, "Yeah, she had jackals, right? No, hyenas? Was it hyenas or jackals? It was an african scavenger... maybe wild dogs?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to her and says "Hyenas, Bud and Lou." He offers up the name of them "Yea, one of the Joker's plans ended up putting toxin in the water supply, while it was stopped, there were some fish affected, lot died but some lived." He get his phone to bring up a picture.

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Hyenas. I knew it was an African scavenger." Emiko gives a quick nod before scooting in a littile closer to peer at the picture. "...huh. That's not nightmare fuel at all. I wonder if the fish scare themselves when they see their reflections..."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen says, "They don't seem to, but Then again, they seem used to it." He smiles and says "We do have some breeding programs there as well. We recently had a baby giraffe born last year, and some cheetah cubs as well.""

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Oof. Strong-willed fish, not sure I could deal with having that face," Emiko shakes her head, giving a little shudder. She looks up with a smile, "Oh now that's awesome. Can anyone see the giraffe baby or is it still sort of... off-limits until it's older? Do you guys have any bears? I like bears, especially the sun bears and moon bears."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen says, "The giraffe is out and about now with the others, on occasion, and we have some bears, mostly american, and a pair of panda trying to breed.""

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Nice! I'll definitely have to come by the zoo then sometime. Pandas are cool. Not koalas though. Fuck those nasty little things." Emiko shudders lightly, then looks back to Bart. "Sorry. Long story. I'll tell you sometime when we know each other a LOT better. If we get there." She offers a quick smile, then glances towards the admissions building, "They're probably opening up soon. Do you have classes in the afternoon?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, and says "Yea, I got a math class in about 15 minutes, but nothing after that planned." He offers to her. "You wanting someone to go with you to check out the place?"

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko smiles, "If that's okay? Looks like the subway will take us right to 4th Ave and then we can just hoof it a few blocks to check out the building. I'd appreciate having someone's opinion that's been here for more than an hour." She points to herself and flashes a grin. "But I figure it will probably take me an hour or so to get through all the paperwork and course selection and everything. Meet back here after?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, and tells her the time his class ends. "Can I get your number in case something comes up?" He picks up his phone waiting for her to give it to him

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Sure! Actually, here, put yourself in my phone, I'll put myself in yours," Emiko smiles, pulling her phone out to hand to him while reaching for his. Presuming he doesn't object, she'll take a quick selfie and add herself in as a contact under 'Emi Is The Man'.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will do the same and does not try looking at any of her pictures or anything. He just puts himself in with a picture and the title. Bart. "Here you go, this should get me, if you want send me a message to double check it."

Emiko Queen has posed:
Likewise, she does not snoop in his phone, just adding herself to his contacts and handing the phone back to him. Nodding as she takes hers, Emiko smiles, "Sure." She sends out a quick text of silly emojis and looks to make sure he gets it.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will send her a couple silly smileys back, and says "If you have any problems or anything just give me a text, and I will do anything I can to help." He offers

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Will do. Thanks again Bart, glad to have met you!" Emi tosses him a small fistbump before hopping up to her feet, "Okay. I should probably go take care of this and let you get to your class. See you in a couple hours!" Waving, she tucks her phone away and starts jogging across the way to the admissions building so she can go get registered.
