Date of Scene: 14 February 2022
Location: Lower West Side
Synopsis: Jennifer almost takes out Piotr, until she realizes he's just a gentle, artistic, beatnick, deep thinking, non KGB Russian.
Cast of Characters: Jennifer Kale, Piotr Rasputin

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. When Jennifer Kale is short on cash, she dances. More specifically, she pole dances. Fifty bucks is fifty bucks, after all.

The Tomcat Club isn't in a very good neighborhood, but it's clean. Mostly. And it closes at 1am, instead of being open all night. About 1:30 or so the customers have cleared out and the dancers are beginning to filter out as well. Many of the girls walk together in small groups for security. Jennifer, being pretty new to the club, heads out alone.

A small duffel with her costume inside is slung over one shoulder as she exits the alley by the back entrance to the club. Wearing a long, button-up coat against the cold, the Floridian shivers in the New York winter chill.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
He's 7 feet and 7 inches tall, made of metal, and stands out amongst a crowd. The man of metal does little to conceal himself from the world around, yet he has decided to avoid the stares when he turns down the same alleyway grumbling something in Russian. For those that understand, he mutters, "I thought outing was good idea. I was wrong. Stupid American gawkers."

Not having looked down the alleyway, he lumbers ahead with heavy footfalls toward the bevy of girls that have left their club. He doesn't mean to look menacing, but that's what happens when a giant made of metal squares off with anyone.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
The girls step out of the alley as the big, metal Russian walks past. Most are trying to press themselves against the walls to let him pass, out of a sense of self-preservation. This doesn't include the blonde who is more or less alone, however.

Jennifer walks right out and into Piotr's path. The trash piles are smaller there, after all. She looks up, then up again. She's seen some pretty strange things in her day, and just assumes that this is another one. Pausing, she lets out a little sigh before she asks, "So do I get three guesses or are you going to tell me your beef before we start?"

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Almost stumbling as he realized he was about to walk into the other girls, he steps to the side and then to the other. But the /other/ puts him in direct path of Jennifer. Which only adds to the potential conflict and comedy of errors. His immense frame stares down at the diminutive blonde and the confusion is potentially evident on his face - if it weren't so dark. He speaks in the Rus, "Chto vy skazali?" and then he auto corrects and says in an accented English translation, "What did you say?"

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer Kale blinks and keeps tilting her head back as she also scuttles to avoid being trampled. Yeah, this guy is right about 2 feet taller than she is. And speaking... is that Russian? Jen took 'Introduction to Russian' one semester, so she at least recognizes the tone.

Probably not from one of the various planes of Hell, then.

She offers a warm smile, running fingers through the blonde curls. "Yeah, so maybe you're NOT here to eat my soul." Jen head-tilts and then finger-guns as well. "You're not with the KGB, are you?"

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
There were moments that Piotr almost thought she was about to attack him. But when she mentioned eating her soul, he smiles. There's a deep chuckle which is followed by louder, open laughter when she asks about him being in the KGB. His laughter is cut short as he straightens up and says, "Nyet, pretty blonde girl. I am not with KGB or modern equivalent, FSI. Nor, do I wish to consume your soul. Though, I am sure it would taste delightful with a strong vodka. That is not my thing." then he offers, "I am Piotr."

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer Kale shrugs, adjusting the shoulder strap on her duffelbag before stepping up close to extend a slender hand. "I'm Jennifer." she replies. "And sorry for jumping to conclusions, but I'm used to attracting weirdos." Pause. "Not that you're weird, but. Okay, you're big and made of metal... is that real metal or some suit?"

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"It is no offense. I am nutant, and in appearance I am quite weird." notes Piotr. "I am one hundred percent metal." he takes her hand, enveloping it in a 'slightly warmer than ambient temperature' mass of hand. It's not hard like metal though. It's malleable, pliable, soft to the touch, slick even, and she can feel the strength within it. He doesn't grip to crush, but it's obvious that he can control his strength so that he doesn't harm her. He adds, "And, being mutant, I draw attention from all fronts. Which is why I travel down alley. Tell me, Jennifer, why do you travel alley?"

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer Kale knows what mutants are, of course, thanks to the media. Right or wrong. She doesn't pull back when he takes her hand, fingers curling to caress the smooth, malleable palm. Jen is so fascinated by the texture that she almost doesn't hear his question. Looking up, then, she blinks and grins. "Me? Oh, I was working tonight at a stri-... at the Tomcat Club." Which he may or may not know about. "I'm a dancer."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Dancer, hence the strength within your grip and your frame.". Then he pauses and reflects back to the seconds before. He makes note of her fascination with his hand and the texture of the metal. "My body. It took some time coming to grips with what I had become. This form affords much protection and strength. Yet, walking down sidewalk isn't always best idea. I cannot blend any more than you do, Yennifer." Perhaps that was a compliment, suggesting that she stands out in a crowd.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Strength of her grip? Yeah, among other things. Jennifer laughs softly at his compliment, taking it as such. "And yeah, I'd imagine you get more than a few looks. Then again you probably would even if you weren't made of metal." Dancer-mode compliments kick in. Then she catches something he says. "So you think I stand out in a crowd? That's sweet."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
He then looks back toward the street behind him. Then returns his gaze to her. "Speaking of, perhaps I am holding you up from something important? Should I be stepping aside and allow you on your way. Or, should I inquire more about the lovely Yennifer that stands before me?"

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer Kale shakes her head at the question. "Not really. Like I said, I just finished up at work so I was heading home. But I'm too keyed up to fall asleep anyway." Pause. "What about you, Piotr? Why are you stalking around the city at night?"

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"I was en route to park. I wanted to walk in the night between the trees and absorb the nature that is the respite of the city. Yet, the world got in my way and I found myself displaced and lost. Perhaps you can walk with me, we can take in night together so that you will find the tranquility that you require to sleep?"

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer Kale listens, tilting her head and lifting a blonde brow. "You're pretty well-spoken for someone who's not KGB." she replies with a touch of a grin. "And yeah, I'd love to walk with you. Gonna take a lot of tranquility for me. The music was kinda loud in there." Stepping up, she turns and slips an arm through his.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Turning with her and feeling her arm within the lower part of his own, he looks down with a curious glance, shrugs, and thinks that when in America, do as American's do. He walks them both out of the alleyway and onto the sidewalk. People do tend to get out of his way and give him a wide berth as he walks. He comments, "I would stand out like blistered thumb in KGB. I could never be spy."

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer Kale's fingers lightly squeeze that beefy, metallic forearm and she smirks up at him. "I know." she replies in a softer voice. "But in a good way." Pausing for a few steps, she looks up and asks. "Where do you usually walk, Piotr? Other than 'wherever you want to walk', that is."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Looking down at her new position, slowing and coming to a halt. "Through Strawberry Fields. I always felt connection to music of John Lennon. His art, his music, inspired me as child. The Fields have geometry that is normally unseen, yet brings fluidity and peace to unconscious mind. I also take time to observe the Dakota - his former home. The structure is also quite pleasing." Answers Piotr as he is asked where he walks, even though she has stopped their forward movement.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer Kale catches the reference and arches a brow as she looks up at him. "A comedian as well as a music lover." she quips back. "And a deep thinker. Sorry for the stereotyping, but that wouldn't have been my first guess. The big, burly, Russian metal guy is a beatnick and an art lover."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Come, I will show you, art." and he will, with new resolve, lead her away toward the park that is central to Manhattan Island.
