Dinner and Gifts - Valentine's
Date of Scene: 14 February 2022
Location: Jan's Manhattan Estate
Synopsis: Gifts exchanged, dinner enjoyed. The evening ends with dancing, then snuggling.
Cast of Characters: Jan de Wit, Veira Lazarescu

Jan de Wit has posed:
Angels had vanished - the world was back to 'normal', as it were. There had been damage, though nothing too terrible around the large estate Jan called home. A few broken items, a few windows needing replaced - nothing that was too difficult to manage, thankfully. The clean up was still on-going in the city, but Jan had his home back. For that, he was relieved!

Once everything had settled, and all the repairs were completed, he had invited Veira over for a Valentine's dinner! The dinner had been prepared, working away in the kitchen as Jan was awaiting his dinner date's arrival. A soft, jazzy instrumental song filled the estate - speakers in each room setting the mood for a relaxing meal.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira had been relieved to hear that there was only minimal damage to Jan's home. There were people that had lost everything and it was very depressing to go over paperwork with cases like that. She'd pushed all of that to the back of her mind though and she was knocking on Jan's door before she knew it. Her coat was unbuttoned, showing a bit of red underneath. Her hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail.

She figured Valentine's dinner called for dressing up. In her hand is a red bag with white hearts on it. Presumably holding a present.

Jan de Wit has posed:
Hearing the knock, or rather being alerted by a chime, Jan wipes his hands off on a towel. Wearing a button-down shirt of violet, and dark slacks - he's dressed for a nice evening as well. Of course, he's got on a dark apron as he's been cooking! He moves with a grin towards the front door, opening it to offer a smile to Veira. "Veira, evening - come in, come in. Be at home." He offers, moving aside to let her in.

Once in, she'll be greeted with a kiss - should she allow such a thing. "How are you feeling, hrm? Rebuilding your strength?" He asks, looking her over. "You look amazing, Veira. May I take your coat?"

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira blinks when she sees Jan with the apron, but she gives a grin to it, "Good evening, handsome." she greets him in turn. "I was going to ask if you wanted to buy some girlscout cookies, but then I thought better of it since I didn't have any in my bad." she muses to that as she steps inside and gives a soft sigh at the smell of things. "That is a lovely smell." she tells him.

The kiss is accepted and returned, she then slides out of her coat, revealing the red velvet dress beneath (https://i.imgur.com/fdt2YF8.jpg), "Thank you, I felt odd putting on red, but I felt it fit." she grins at him. She relinquishes the coat with a warm smile, "You look happy to be back home." she comments.

"Can I help with anything?" she asks him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
He takes her coat, giving a whistle at the reveal of the dress. "That is fantastic, Veira. It looks wonderful on you - red works." Jan offers with a nod. The coat is hung in the closet, the man offering an arm to her. "And Girl Scout Cookies? I think I missed the season, what with the irksome angels and all." A shake of his head. "Though, if you bring cookies, I will be glad to share them with you next time."

"Quite happy. Orchid seems to enjoy all the space, and her pup." He grins - even so, the skitter of the dog trotting over to greet the guest is heard. She's looking healthy and happy, tail wagging. The pup is not long after, bowling into her mother in excitement. They are both clearly happy to see Veira again. Jan grins at their exuberance.

"I'm preparing Bami Goreng with chicken." He explains. "It's got a bit of spice to it. My mother used to make it back home." A soft smile. "I'd love company in the kitchen?"

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira blushes at his comment, "Why thank you, it's been hanging in my closet just waiting for the perfect moment." she tells him with a smile. "I'm glad I get to break all of these out. It's nice." she admits. "I think they should redo the season over that situation. Or I can always just order them and bring them here." she muses at that. She takes his arm when it is offered.

And then there are puppies, "Hello darlings!" she practically bounces on her heels at the sight of them. "You both are looking very happy. I'm glad that you've settled in so nicely with Jan." she tells them.

She then looks to the man and she gives a curious look, "I don't think I've ever had it, so I am excited to try something new with some spice." she grins. "I'd love to keep you company and if I need to assist with anything you just need to point me to it." she offers softly as she lets him lead them to the kitchen.

Jan de Wit has posed:
She's led, with the hounds, through the spacious manor. He moves towards the kitchen, the door swinging open easily. The scent of the dinner is quite enticing - noodles, eggs, veggies and chicken. "I think if you would, picking out a proper wine to go with this would be good? And keeping an eye on the bread in the oven?" He suggests, sneaking in another kiss before moving back to the noodle dish to stir it. "I'd love to get some cookies, I did a donation to the troupe here - if only to help cover the losses from the whole divine intervention."

The younger pup zooms off, enjoying the space to run. Orchid stays nearby, curious as to what's going on with the two humans.

The kitchen is quite well-stocked, all the fancy appliances and tools of the trade. A grin from Jan as he stirs the noodles. "It is quite stunning, I am always happy to see what you dress up in." He grins. "I've got gifts for you, after dinner."

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira looks over the manor as she is lead, "Your home is lovely." she tells him. She might have already said it, but it deserves the compliment. She gives a smile to him, "I can find a wine and watch bread." she gives a nod to that as she gets her assignment. "Chicken...hmmm...need a wine that goes with that." she grins. His kiss makes her grin, but she doesn't distract him from cooking.

"Did you cook with your mother a lot?" she asks him in a soft tone. Not sure if it was a sore memory or not.

She's peering into the oven to check and see if the bread is doing alright when he mentions presents, "I also got you something. Though if you don't like them I am sure we can find something that you do like." she grins to that. "It felt right to get something, even if things are still new." she admits.

Jan de Wit has posed:
Jan motions to the wine cooler, fully stocked and happily chilled. "Thank you - you're welcome to explore whenever you like." He grins. "I'm glad I get to host you, honestly. I like... pampering my guests." Jan winks to her. "The suite was nice, but not home. If that makes sense?"

At the question regarding cooking, he shrugs just a touch. "Not as much as I would have liked. She showed me how to make my favorite dishes, though. It was something she really enjoyed - making people have full bellies." A chuckle.

He nods, understanding the sentiment. "New or old, it is a good thing to celebrate, don't you think?" He looks to her. "I like where we are in our relationship... in our dating."

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira moves to the wine cooler, her gaze drifting over labels until she finds a Chardonnay. She opens the door and then reaches in to pull it out. "Think this should go nicely." she tells him. "I don't believe any of your guests will object to pampering." she gives a soft smile to that. "If I'm a bit skittish in exploring it is because I don't want to mess anything up." she chuckles. "I feel like a stray cat sometimes trying to get used to a new place." she shakes her head as she finds a spot to sit the bottle.

"Mothers are very good at making sure that we are not hungry if they can help it." she nods to that. "Which...speaking of mothers. Mine has invited us to dinner sometime." she smiles.

"I like celebrating. Life can be so precarious that we should enjoy the holidays and things." she admits. "I also like where we are." she smiles to that as she approaches him. She rests her chin on his shoulder delicately, "Where would your wine opener be, darling?" she asks him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
As she moves behind him, he grins. His hand reaches back to stroke at her hip as she speaks to him at his shoulder. "Drawer to the right of the refridgerator." He offers, regarding the bottle opener. Stir, stir, stir! "Indeed, life is a blessing that we take for granted, all too often. In our rather unique situations, danger is just something to show us how much we should cherish being given breath."

A brow arches as she mentions her mother's invitation. "Oh? She has heard about me, then?" Jan grins. "I would love to have dinner with your mother - did she have a preferred place?" The man wonders, comfortable in discussing such things - comfortable as can be with her in his home.

He turns slightly, hugging her gently. "I don't have any fear that you will break anything or some such, but I do understand. There is no rush." He beams.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"Thank you, eventually I'll know where things in the kitchen are if I'm lucky." Veira states with a soft chuckle. His comment about cherishing being given breath makes her give him a thoughtful look, "Even I, who can return from death, cherish the breath I'm given. Because I really like my family and this guy I'm seeing." she admits to that.

"Yes, my mother and father have heard about you. "As for places, she doesn't have a preference. I figured I'd broach the subject with you and then we could decide from there?" she offers.

She returns his hug with a soft smile, "I know, I'll get over it. I've just never been in a place like this really." she admits. She leans in to kiss his cheek, "You're wonderful, you know that, right?" she asks him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
A sly grin. "I have it on good authority that the lucky guy feels the same about you." He waggles his brows. "And I am glad you cherish it, I am. With a gift like yours, I can see people who might become jaded and take returning for granted." Jan says, honestly. Another chuckle. "And you are welcome over any time. No questions asked, or invitations needed."

"Well, I am up for travel or arranging visits as necessary. The sky is the limit, my treat." He nods to her. "I do want to make a good impression, after all." He winks. "Or if they would rather have a simple home cooked meal, I am certainly not opposed to that either."

The kiss has his cheek red, happily so. "I thought all sorceresses had expansive mansions in the mountains, filled with artifacts and magic whatsits?" He winks to her, clearly teasing. "I try to reflect my feelings of the person, Veira. I am wonderful to you, because you are wonderful. And quite worth the pampering, emotions and care." He assures.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira listens to him and there is a warm laugh, "Mmm, I will have to remember that you have that on good authority." she winks at him. "It's the returning that is the pain. It takes a lot and I lose out on time...which is a bit ironic given things." she sighs softly. "I appreciate the open invitation, so don't be surprised if I take you up on it." she comments with a teasing tone to it.

"Oh, the bread!" she gasps as she hurries over on her heels to check it and make sure it's not burning. "We don't have to travel far. They just live in upstate New York. So fairly close still." she smiles to that. The bread is saved from a firey disaster thankfully. "It is rather easy to impress my parents. It's called just being a genuinely good human and I think you check those boxes in a big way." she points out. "That and I gush about you." she grins.

"On my salary? I wish I had some big mansion." she muses. "Honestly I'd take a nice victorian house with antiques and a finished cellar to store things in." she chuckles to that. "Though my realtor keeps sending me farm properties." she shakes her head.

She sobers though as he explains things, her gaze growing warm as she looks to him, "If you keep talking like that I'm going to get all weepy...or worse." she whispers to him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
The man chuckles at the comment about his authority. "I, someday, will ask after what it is like - what happens when you are in-between alive and dead." He says, with a smile. "Another night though, as I'm more interested in happier discussions tonight." Jan winks to her, turning the heat off the burner. A smile as breadpocalypse is averted, smirking a touch. "Good timing then - the main dish is ready." He moves over to collect up the serving bowl, emptying the pot into the waiting dish.

"Just let me know when, and we'll arrange for a trip to them." He grins. "We can arrange a car for them if they would like, and we can sort out a good restaraunt." He nods. His cheeks are red at the mention of her gushing to her parents regarding him. "Flattery will get you everywhere."

Motioning to the plate for the bread, he motions then to the wine. "Care to help me carry this to the dining room?" A nod is given towards the other exit to the kitchen.

"Farm houses and properties... perhaps we'll look into that, someday." He grins. "Or the victorian. My basement isn't furnished or finished at the moment, but that can be remedied, once all the other repairs around the city are done."

"Weepy or worse?" He wonders.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira gives a soft smile to that, "It is really odd, but no, not a dinner discussion for tonight." she muses to that. She finds a potholder to tug the bread out with seeing as it is easy to locate. "Do you want this sliced?" she asks him with a grin. "If so just point me towards a bread knife and I can make quick work of it." she tells him. Given the knife scars, that was probably accurate.

At the mention of flattery getting her everywhere there's a red lipped smile to that, "Right? I'm sure you'll feel your ears burning after this." she winks at him. "I'll talk to my parents and see which they prefer." she nods to that.

"Yeah, I'd been looking at property for the last few years. But maybe I'll put that off for a bit." she offers with a soft smile as she picks up the bread and the wine. "You make me feel welcomed. No matter where we are at. I've always had trouble with fitting in so I sometimes feel a bit emotional over it." she admits. "This is why I invest in waterproof makeup." she teases him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
A nod to where the knives are, held on a magnetic rack. "Right there." He grins. "I've got some butter already set out on the table to warm." Jan explains, winking to her. "Should be nice and soft by now." He waits for her to collect up the knife and slice, as needed.

"I will have to suffer through cold showers to cool down my ears, then." He laughs. "I am sure my parents would have loved hearing me go on about you, Veira." He says, quietly. "Do let me know, I'll be glad to make all the arrangements."

The smile over his face is warm and genuine. "You are welcome. And you fit in, in that you fit as you should. We are all different pieces of the same puzzle. The trick is to find the right piece to match with." A chuckle. "No crying over dinner, I'll fear you dislike my cooking." The man teases.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira retrieves the bag she brought with her as well given it has his present inside. The bread is settled on the table and she carefully uses the bread knife she picked up to make some even slices. "I've found few things in life better than a fresh loaf of bread from the oven." she tells him with a smile.

"Mmm. Jan in a cold shower." she gives a bit of a purr to that as she settles the bread down neatly. She opens her mouth to say something, but thinks better of it before she thinks it through, "Are your parents buried here in the states or are they back home?" she asks him softly. "I'll talk to my mom and dad and see which they like." she adds to him.

There's a warm laugh, "I'm sure your cooking, much like everything else, is perfect, Jan." she tells him. "I'm one of those weird puzzle pieces with all the bends, curves and sticky out points." she muses to that.

"It smells delicious." she states as she looks across to him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
The man moves to pull out her chair, letting her settle in when ready. "I do like the scent of buttered noodles, freshly cooked." Jan admits. "But bread, most definitely. It's just... comfort in loaf form." A sly grin is given over, as he sets down the main dish. Plates and silverware are already set, and a flat wrapped present box is near her seat.

He gives a happy laugh at her comment about the cold shower. "Hot shower is better, can stay in there longer." He waggles his brows. A quirk of his brow at her pause, then a smile. "They are buried near Amsterdam. They were so proud of their country, they would have come back to scold me had I buried them here." He says. "Though in hindsight, I might have had a chance to say good bye then."

A shake of his head, to clear away the sadder thoughts. "I am no chef, but there are a few dishes like this that I think I do well at." A smile. "Home favorite, and all." Once she's settled in, he takes his seat as well. "Yes, exactly. We fit well, I would say."

He motions to the dish, "Please, help yourself - ladies first."

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira gives a soft smile to him and a quiet thank you when he pulls her chair out. Always the gentleman. "Buttered noodles are pretty delicious as well." she agrees with that as she settles into the chair and crosses one knee over the other. "Cats also come in a loaf form, but I'm sure the dogs can do that as well." she muses to that softly. Her amberish gaze does look to the box that is near and she gives a look back to him. Sneaky.

His bag is settled on his side of the table. "I should warn you that Atilla likes to wander into showers sometimes. I couldn't imagine the startle it would give you if I didn't warn you." she chuckles. Then she gives a soft smile, "We can visit them while we are there." she states. "I didn't mean to bring up an unhappy memory. I apologize." she tells him.

She does give a bit of an adoring look to him as he continues to speak, her chin resting on her hand as she does, "Thank you for cooking for us." she tells him with a warm smile. Then she straightens up and starts to make herself a plate, "We do fit well together." she smiles to him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
"I would imagine that my fondness of cats is partly related to their focus and love of comfort." He smirks. Orchid gives a soft chuffing woof to that. "Yes, Orchid. I love dogs too, for similar reasons." He winks. "She's getting a bit more of a personality as she becomes more comfortable."

A smile and a shake of his head. "Thank you for the warning, then. That could be embarassing!" Jan laughs. "Not to mention, it'd give him more fuel to tease me with the Silver Fox nickname." He clucks his tongue. A thankful look on his face and a nod. "Thank you, I know. It just is one of those wishes that is lost in time. It is all about timing. Nowadays, I try to make sure people close to me know how much they mean to me."

As her hand clasps his, he smiles - thumb brushing over the back of her hand. "You are most welcome. And I am very glad we fit as well as we do." He beams. "Do let me know what you think of the Bami Goreng?"

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira gives a grin to Orchid when she barks her disapproval, "Noted. But I'm sure we love you just as much as cats." she points out to her. "I think Sass is her personality." she muses to him. She settles her plate down then offers the serving spoon over to him so that it doesn't get on the table.

She then groans a little and laughs, "Oh goodness, I never thought of him running in there and reporting back." she tries to hide the blush, but decides it's natural at this point. "He's babysitting the puppy tonight. So he's quiet excited." she grins to that. "Our parents are a big part of our life, there's no need to thank me on that." she tells him softly.

She gives his hand a soft squeeze, "I will let you know. I'm having a hard time letting your hand go is all." she gives him a grin. "I hope that you like your Valentine's gift. I wasn't sure if it was something to give on a first Valentine's...but I threw caution to the wind." she smiles to that.

Jan de Wit has posed:
A grin and a nod. "She is sass. And so protective of her pup." A look to the two dogs, sitting properly - not begging, but not leaving without entertaining the hope of getting a taste. "I need to see about getting her a prosthetic so she can run with..." A face. "I really need to think of a name for her daughter." Jan chuckles. As the spoon is offered over, he takes it with his free hand.

He admires her for a moment, enjoying the flush of her skin. His fingers lace with hers. "I am imagining he's there catering to the pups every whim." A smile. "We need to get the three together for another play date." A pat to her hand once she mentions family. "Indeed. I count myself blessed in what memories I have."

"Thankfully, it is eaten with a fork." A wink to her. "So a bit of ease, as opposed to chopsticks." His eyes go to her gift, and he grins. "Caution is good, in moderation. There are instances where people need to take a leap of faith."

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira gives a grin to Orchid and her pup, then she looks back to Jan, "I named her son Florian. It might not help with your naming of her daughter, but I figured that keeping the flower theme might be good." she smiles to that. "Oh he's probably getting into everything and helping him eat peanut butter." she muses. "He's like having an eternal toddler." she admits. "But I love him." she adds.

"Yes. I think a prosthetic and a play date would be good. I can bring him here if you think they'd enjoy getting out and running." she offers to him. With her free hand she takes up her fork and takes a bite of her food. After chewing and swallowing there is a grin, "This is delicious." she tells him. Completely happy with the meal.

"The fork thing is going to be a running joke...and I'm alright with that." she teases him. "I think I'm getting old enough where some gifts just don't get the time limit." she muses.

Jan de Wit has posed:
Jan thinks a bit, taking a bite and savoring the taste of it as he hrms. A smile. "I need to sort out a good floral name, then." He decides. "Keep it a familial trait, no?" A smirk. "Peanut butter and sushi, quite the range of tastes Atilla has." A nod. "And he is most worthy of love, he is a friend and a protector."

"I have a good yard, and do not mind hosting at all. I'll arrange to have Orchid looked at for a fitting this week." A wide smile, the man quite pleased as she says she enjoys the dinner. Point of pride! He dips a bit of his bread into the noodles and enjoys the meal. "Very glad you enjoy it."

The dish is spicy, but not overly so!

"Well, I am sure Silver Fox isn't going anywhere either..." He laughs with her. He strokes his fingers over her hand. "Well, here's to hoping we both don't spontaneously burst into flame with embarassment."

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"Can have a bunch of flowers running around. Given our shared love of the gardens there already seems to be a theme." Veira tells him with a soft smile to that. "And I can find little flower hats for all of them and we'll post it on Instagram to make everyones days brighter." she states with a grin to Orchid and the pup. They may hat her after that.

"Do you have a pool out back as well? That might get us into trouble with the dogs." she muses to that. "I like the spice." she tells him. Commenting on the food.

"And no, you have to live with that forever." she grins. Then she giggles a little, "We do blush a lot for grown adults...but that is the fun in it." she admits. There is a look given to his bag, "Do you want to open it?" she asks him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
"A garden of hounds." Jan chuckles. There's a slight whine from Orchid at the mention of hat - perhaps she recognizes the word? "I am sure they will have all the fans in the world, beautiful as they are." He beams over to them, which earns a wag of tails.

A look over to the large great room, and a nod. "Indeed! A pool and hot tub. Swimming is fantastic for keeping in shape, without overly torturing your joints." The dancer grins. "Though I might have to make a ramp for the pups..."

A shake of his head, tsking a bit. "How burdened I am with such a moniker." Jan snickers. "We blush as this is new, and important. And we are learning of one another, and finding lines where we are willing to meet at." A look to the gifts. "I will open mine, only if you open yours?"

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"It sounds delightful. They are pretty good at bringing sunshine when we don't have much of it." Veira tells him with a soft smile. The whine makes her gaze go to Orchid, "Oh darling I won't make you wear a hat, honest." she chuckles to that. The little tail wags made her heart full.

She looks to where his gaze goes and there's a grin, "Oh, pools are lovely. I can imagine that it's nice to exercise in and not bulk up in your profession." she gives a smile as she looks back to him.

She gives a bit of a giggle, "Yes, hopefully he never says that in a public place." she muses to that. "I think we'll grow out of it. I do enjoy making you blush though." she confesses. At the mention of her opening her gift and he'll open his she nods, "Deal." she grins to that.

Jan de Wit has posed:
Orchid seems pleased, laying down to wait for potential scraps. Jan smiles, nodding to Veira after that. "She looks relieved." A laugh, the man shaking his head. "I think they understand us, just fine. They just don't have the proper mouths for human words. Imagine the conversations we'd have if they could talk?"

"It might be a bit chilly for the pool, until the heater catches up. The spa should be just fine, though." A smile. "Did you bring a suit?" He wonders.

"I am sure he might. I expect it will be in tabloids soon." Jan winks to her. "And I enjoy seeing the color in your cheeks, too. A matching pair, tonight." A wide grin as she agrees to the present exchange. "Whenever you like, then."

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"She does, doesn't she. Kind of like me when school picture day came around." Veira muses to that. She was good humored about her eye a lot of the time. "She'd probably tell us to quit feeding her kibble and give her good steak all the time." she teases Jan.

"You know...the cold has never bothered me, but I don't think it would be fun for you with as cold as it still is." she admits. "But no, I didn't bring one. Maybe when it's warmer." she grins at that.

"He'd never betray you so." Veira assures him about Atilla. Then she grins, getting excited as she reaches over to take up her box. "I wonder what it is..." she murmurs. "Scandalous clothing maybe?" she teases him. "You should have black velvet box in that bag." she nods to his. She does have a hint of nervousness though, hoping he likes his present.

Under tissue paper, there is the velvet box. Inside he'll find a set of antique cufflinks made in silver and adorned with amethyst. (https://i.imgur.com/eAqbmKM.jpg)

Jan de Wit has posed:
There's a smile from Jan as the speculation about Orchid's dietary discussion comes forward. "Likely. Truth be told, if the vet tells me a treat of steak isn't bad for them every once and a while - they will be quite spoiled."

"Indeed. I do like soaking in the hot tub during cold weather, though. Reminds me of being in a hotsprings." A chuckle. "And indeed, cold water is not quite friendly to me." The man admits.

"Not scandalous - that's too cliche, I would think." He teases.

As she opens the main box, she'll find a very soft set of flannel pajamas - black with red striping. Atop the PJs, a long jewelry box containing a silver necklace with ruby adornments. Silver leaves and vines are woven into the design, with the rubies cut in teardrop fashion.

Meanwhile, he slowly uncovers the cufflinks - giving a low whistle of approval. "These are beautiful, Veira." He says, quietly - marveling at each in his palm.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"I think lean steak is good for them. Given their descendants ate mostly raw meats." Veira gives a smile to Jan. Then she looks to the dogs, stage whispering, "I'm trying girls, I really am." she tells them. She listens to him about the soaking and there's a grin, "I will make sure things are properly warm then." she tells him.

She opens the box with nimble fingers, trying not to damage whatever is inside.

The pajamas make her smile, "Oh, they're so soft." she gives a happy look over them. "Does this mean I can stay the night?" she asks him with a hopeful look. She settles the main box off to the side and takes the long jewelry box up.

She opens it, gazing down at the necklace inside and there's a bit of a moment she raises her hand to brush at her cheek, "It's perfect." she tells him in a warm tone. The comment about his cufflinks brings her gaze back to him, "I thought you'd like them. They are your color." she smiles to that. "And if you have to go out of town on business or work you can sneak them into a suitcase and I can be there in spirit." she mentions.

Jan de Wit has posed:
The man nods, still admiring the gift he's been given. "Oh, I am certain - I just want to find out if I should cook, or season, or offer raw." Jan grins, looking up to her as she runs a hand over his cheek. He leans into the touch a bit, smiling.

"I tried to find the softest set, honestly. Comfort and such." He grins, nodding to her. "I'd very much like it, if you wanted to stay the night." He says, quietly. "The offer is there, regardless - whenever you like."

He watches her face as she looks over the necklace. "I thought, since we met at the park and our talk of gardening..." He lets the words trail off. "The cufflinks are perfect. I will wear them whenever I can."

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira gives a warm look to him as he leans into her touch, "I will definitely be wearing this whenever I can. Though it might stick out on some missions if I try to." she tells him with a grin. She'd probably murder anyone that parted her from the necklace.

"Soft PJ's are what all women dream of. So I will be happy to change into them later tonight." she whispers in a conspiritorial tone to him. "Though I do like getting all dolled up sometimes." she grins. "Thank you, everything is perfect." she tells him.

"The necklace reminded me of the gardens immediately." she admits to him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
Jan grins. "Yes, it might not do well for stealth or messy missions." He winks. "I thought the rubies might also go with your magic - though I am woefully uneducated in the power of gems." The man admits. "I'll settle for seeing it about your neck when we go out."

"I had thought of lingerie, but... perhaps another time. More comfort is always welcome, I guessed." His hand moves to stroke her's. "And you look amazing dolled up, and you glow when you are comfortable."

He looks pleased as she mentions the connection to the garden. "Good! My plan worked, then!" He chuckles. "So... a good dinner, then relaxing and lounging?"

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira gives a look to him, "They do go well with the blood part of the magic. Rubies always reminded me of blood. Then again...my role model is Morticia Gomez, so go figure." the woman gives a grin to that. "All gems have some powers, yes. Which if you'd like to learn more about we can teach." she offers. "I will gladly wear it for you." she tells him.

"I trust your judgement in those areas." she tells him. Then she looks to the dogs and back to the pajamas, "You sneaky thing how did you get my size?" she playfully accuses. Atilla might be behind this.

She beams at him, "It was a good plan." she tells him. She nods, "That sounds like a perfect evening. I'd even be up for a dance if you aren't afraid of getting a toe stepped on." she teases him gently.

Jan de Wit has posed:
"Excellent! I wasn't certain if it'd fit... I am so relived the rubies work for that." He grins. "Last thing I need to do is stumble upon jewelry that will inhibit your sorcery." At the mention of the Addams family, he nods. "If you are Morticia, should I darken my hair and grow a moustache?" Jan winks. "I'd like to learn, yes. I think it is fascinating." An enthusiastic nod.

He waggles his brows, chuckling just a bit. "I have my own network of spies..." He says deviously. Of course, Atilla is to blame!

He nods, slowly getting to his feet and offering a hand to her. "Of course! I have a room for that, or we can just use the living room..." He suggests. "And we can take off our shoes, so I don't step on your feet." He teases.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira gives him another adoring look, "You're very thoughtful when it comes to picking out gifts." she tells him gently. Then there is a grin, "I think you are definitely my Gomez." she states warmly. "Maybe we can as them for Halloween." she offers. "I'll happily teach you. I think you'd do well with magic." she admits to that.

She gives him a look, her lips pursing for a moment, "Mhm." she huffs playfully. "Your spies should be getting a raise." she teases him.

When he rises she settles the box to the side and reaches out to take his hand, "You lead and I will follow to whichever room you choose." she tells him. Though she does lean in to steal a kiss from him, "My feet will be no worse for wear if you step on them, Jan." she tells him.
