Home again, home again
Date of Scene: 17 February 2022
Location: Candle, Booke and Belle
Synopsis: A Cheetah, a Misfit and a Pixie walk into a Crowe's nest...
Cast of Characters: Nettie Crowe, Barbara-Ann Minerva, Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe, Megan Gwynn

Nettie Crowe has posed:
Brush out the dust and open the doors, polish the glass and mop the floors -- the water's hot and tea is done, the Crowe's has opened to everyone!

After the events surrounding New York's 'winged' issue, Nettie Crowe has opened up the doors to the Candle, Booke and Belle again for business -- or what amounts to business, anyway. The Crowe Crone (who never appears older than thirty) is sweeping about in the room, the actual Crow on her shoulder shifting abounce to balance as she sorts out the last few little details with some fresh flowers.

"All right, now that's all sorted..."

Barbara-Ann Minerva has posed:
Here in one of her identities comes Cheetah as 'Priscilla Rich'. Wearing a relaxed looking outfit, hair done up in a bun,a nd a set of glasses on her face. Priscilla seems rather relaxed, even as she would keep her posture intrigued. Eyes looking about the shop with interest. going to murmur to herself over in an educated English accent; not necessarily from the continent, or just someone who was educated at someowhere that prided itself on 'values'.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
To people with more mystic senses there is a mystical signature that is like a BANG somewhere down the block with the sizzle of chaos magic and no real dampening of the magic involved.

    Not subtle.

A short walk from the alley later the door is popped open and a smol woman in her late teens ducks into the shop glancing around. She is rocking a wonder woman hoodie, scuffed boots, and black jeans. She smiles though and lifts a hand to wave hello to the shop keep in question.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn has heard of the Candle Booke and..Something or other. And in her eagerness to learn new spells and find a proper mentor it seemed a good place to start. Now that the angels have left, hopefully four good, she is even more eager to check out this place, maybe do some mingling..And maybe grab some free food too! And so she peeks in, dressed in black jeans and a bright green bald shirt underneath a short purple jacket that's warm enough without being too heavy..Still it means keeping he4 wings folded and hidden underneath but not her bright pink hair or pointy ears. "Ooh, Soo this is the famed Candle Book and Belle..It's so..Quaint!" she exclaims cheerfully to no one in particular as she peers around.

Nettie Crowe has posed:
Candle, Booke and Bell was open. Nettie had picked up the BANG down the block, and had turned her head subtlely to give some concern, pursing her lips a moment, but she gives a smile to everyone as they come in.

"Greetings, greetings all, come in, come in, don't mind the condition of the place -- just getting reopened and everything." the lady replies. Her white hair was pulled back into a high ponytail, and she was wearing a corsetted top with jeans and black boots.

Charlie gets a little wave of recognition, and Megan becomes the object of attention from the crow on Nettie's shoulder, who flaps off and lands near her, tilts his head to one side and states with a Very Pronounced OP English accent: "Well, yer a colorful one, aincha?"

"Just let me know if you've got any questions, comments, concerns, or need to know if I have something in stock!"

Barbara-Ann Minerva has posed:
'Priscilla' would enter on in, glancing about, "My, what the place you have here." She would offer cheerfully, spinning around the place to look about merrily. Her voice having a slight 'upper crust English' to it that would grow more pronounced. As Cheetah, always looking out for something magical she could use to empower hereslf against those hated Amazons or trade for something. So she would click her tongue and look about.
"Ah.. First time here. I saw some of the advertisements while I was wandering around during the rebuilding and thought.. An open house, wonderful!"

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
The redheaded chaos muppet pushes back her hood on the Wonder Woman hoodie and glances around, attention drifting to follow the crow from Nettie's shoulder to checking out Megan. "That's for sure." no malice just chipper before she looks around the shop once more.

The mystery of the earlier chaos is easy enough to find the source, the energies just linger and swirl around Charlie still.

"Glad the shop is okay, all things considered." she glances at Priscilla and offers a friendly smile before meandering towards the counter and finding a place to lean safely without upsetting valuable contents of shelves.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn might sense some sort of magical signature nit far off..But then it's gone and she's distracted by other things, peering this way and that, before nodding and smiling to the owner with the crow. "Oh, Hii! You must be Nettie then. I've heard about you, figured I should check out the place for myself, and..Ooh, what a cool crow, is this your familiar?" she reaches out to try pet the crow because of course she does, silly girl!

Nettie Crowe has posed:
Nettie gives a small smile as she looks to Charlie. "Ah, lass, wouldn't be much of anyone if I didn't keep my shop in good shape!" she calls back to both Charlie and Priscilla, and she gives Priscilla a once over, and a wink, and then she brings herself up behind her tea bar, and she reaches for one of the steam kettles.

"Oh? What's that pet? Heard of little ol' me? I'm a nobody." she jokes, and she motions to the crow himself. "And that's Corvax, he bites."

"Hands off, bloody fairy!" the feathers ruffle in threat, and the little British crow gives an angry sounding caw, and then flits back over to Nettie.

Barbara-Ann Minerva has posed:
Priscilla would smile, "Ain't he the cutest thing?" Her voice settling over with a bit of a midwestern twang to it. Then while no one else -but- Corvus was looking at her there would be a lick of her lips and her eyes would turn to puppiless golden vertical slits and there would be a silent hiss. And back to normal before anyone else would hopefully twist around.
"This place stood out so much." She would glance at Megan. "And what are you pretty fairy?"

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
"True..." is the comment about Nettie keeping up her shop. "Still a lot of places took a real beating from the other winged ones. Present company excluded." she pushes to go from leaning to sitting at a stool at the tea bar watching the interaction between Corvax and Megan.

"Man I totes need a sidekick like that instead of being the sidekick...." she is totally a sidekick though in these realms of crime fighting and magic. Her feet sway as she fidgets sitting there. "If the nice person is a fairy, first one who hasn't tried to kill me which is A+ right?"

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn arches a brow as Nettie somehow recognizes her for what she is..Not like she can really hide pointy ears, bright pink hair or those insect pod eyes as easily as her wings but. "Ohh, well Yknow, I was hoping to learn some magic and...Eek! It talked!" she jerks her hand back, looking at the tigers, "Did you see that? That bird talked! Tha5 was...Soo cool!"

Nettie Crowe has posed:
"He's not a sidekick, and they don't make them like him anymore, poppet." Nettie replies to the grouping, and she stretches her fingers out a moment, drawing out three cups.

    Cheetah's is gold. Brilliant gold.

Charlie's is violently purple with black constellations across it.

Megan's is an arsenic green, trimmed with gold.

    She gives a small smile.

"I can see none of you are regular customers -- so have a seat, let's have a chat, let's talk about what you want, lovelies~."

Barbara-Ann Minerva has posed:
There would be a smile from Priscilla, "Why thank you. It's appreciated. YOu have a lovely place here. All this trauma.. I hope you didn't take too much damage and that your cuomsters are okay." Cheetah can lie nearly flawlessly. Perks of being so predatory. She would go to take her cup of tea, pinkie finger sticking out.
"My word this is pretty." She would let out a soft 'gasp' with an ooh

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
There is a grin for Megan "Which is ...very cool. I mean magic right. Very cool." she finger wave wiggles at Corvus. "Hello sir bird."

Charlie accepts the cup and peers at the purples and black constellations. "Interrrresting." she pops a look up at Nettie "Is this like.. thematic tea... or magic or ... " she trails off then asks "Sup with the tea?"

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn pouts a bit and sighs, "Oh, geez, I'm sorry, uh, do you have a name, er..Sir..?" she peers at the crow, having never met a British talking crow before and now she has to wonder if he was once human or an enchanted crow or like really just a very very smart crow or something. But...

"Oooh what a pretty cup! Say are you gonna do like a tea leaf reading or something? Cuz that'd be cool!" oh oh right, take a seat. Ok. At least tha5 shuts her up. For a bit.

Nettie Crowe has posed:
"Corvax, be polite." Nettie states and she begins to collect items, adding to a cloth bag.

"Lived through a lot of wars, and that particular blonde asshole with wings? Not precisely my cup of tea. This, though?" she questions, and she holds up the sachet full of herbs and teas, and she tucks it into a plain teapot, and adds the boiling water to the teapot.

"No, I shall not be doing tea leaf readings today, poppet." she states quietly, and she lets the tea steep, and steeples her fingers a moment.

"So, yes, magic, and tea. And tea, because I went to school for tea blending when I got bored in the late 90's." she explains.

Barbara-Ann Minerva has posed:
Cheetah would sip, "Oh, I find this cup of tea particularly more appetizing." She would mm, "And tea blending sounds much nicer than magic. I mean the results are ever so tasty. Magic is.. I don't know anything about it. but it just seems ever so.. Hit or miss."

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
"I'm told it is pretty hit and miss and also expensive." she sips the tea curious about how it tastes not just looks. "Also very hard.. lots of study and practice. Still 10 of 10 would do again. Will do again." pause "Tenses are hard sometimes... should have studied more in school."

She sticks her tongue out at Corvax just a bit then grins and looks to Megan. "So you want to learn magic huh ... got any leads?"

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn arches a brow, "Corvus. Of course!" she giggles a bit, "Nice to meet y'all, I'm Megan, and yes, I'm a faerie who would very much like to learn magic!" she watches as the tea steeps, maybe a bit impatiently, before pouring herself a cup. And promptly burning her tongue on it. "Ouch, owie!" she yells and blows on her tongue, "Err, well someone mentioned this place, said it had lots of resources for beginner mages like myself. What about you two, what brings you here?"

Nettie Crowe has posed:
"Cor/vax/." The bird corrects, with a long suffering sigh.

"Not the brightest, are they Nettle?" he asks, and Nettie tilts her head back to look up at the crow.

"Oi. Polite, yeah? You're only a month out, I *can* put you back in Hell."

"Well. Yes. I do have lots of resources. Books, contacts, bit of this, bit of that, bits and bobs from around the world, but the first lesson I usually try to impart is that it will cost you, and you might not like what you find. After all, what I understand as magic might be just a few card tricks and redirection, she might know magic as the right word to whisper in an ear at a board meeting to get someone to do what you want," she gives a nod to Cheetah. Very Posh.

"She might know magic as the leylines and how to slip among them." she nods to Charlie, and then she looks to Megan.

"And you're apparently a faerie in need of learning human magic, something I find quite curious and fascinating."

Barbara-Ann Minerva has posed:
Cheetah would take a look over at the bird, "And you seem to be very pip pip crow-eo." She would watch over and settle in. "So have you considered some sort of.. I don't know, reward system? I'm sure you can find something to stuff his polite self with htat will help a lot with those things."
She would go to fold her fingers together. "And aren't you a delight." She would chirp over to Megan.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
Charlie gives Cor/vax a pointed look at Nettie's talk of hell. There is just a narrowing of eyes and a different cast to the chipper chaos muppet there. "Mm." is all she notes though before taking another sip of the tea. She has been a bit sour on hell since the whole demonic body swap business a year ago with one of the demon's three after all.

"It's true though, the cost. Almost all magic has cost. Then again. Not all actually does have a cost which infuriates some people." tea sip.

"Less leylines and way way more confounding I'm told... though that is near enough to it ye." a grin. She glances at Cheetah. "His idea of a treat may not be the best for everyone around us."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn rolls her eyes. "Corvax..Isn't that what I said?" she makes a face, waving a distracted hand, "And yeah, I'm into the real magic stuff, not that hocus locus sleight of hand stuff, I mean come on, do you think I'm a fake? Bah.." she grins and nods to Nettie. "Yup, git wings and all.." To cheetah she just grins and nods, "Oh, I know!" Charlie is given a more serious glance and nod, "Oh, I know..Everything has a piece, but, Im all over that too, and.." and then her phone rings and she blinks, "Ah darn, that's my cue, I gotta too..Thanks for the tea, see ya soon!"

Oh she'll definitely be back, but for now, she hurries off into the night, to...Wherever..

Nettie Crowe has posed:
Nettie gives a toothy smile to Cheetah.

"I weaned him on the entrails of a hanged man, gathered at dusk outside the city gate. Bit hard to find that now-a-days. Far too sanitary." she explains. She might be joking.

"I was mostly joking, Miss Gage." Nettie states as she watches the others leave the shop. And she gives a small smile, a soft 'humm' and then sips her tea.

"And what do you seek from this old witch, poppet?"

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
Charlie watches them all go as well thoughtfully. "I admit I am curious about the maybe faerie to be honest. My only other real encounter with them was way more murderous... maybe she is misplaced. Do they even learn human sorceries?" puzzled.

She turns on the stool to look more focused on Nettie now. "Oh I just thought the open house would be nice, get some tea, see if you needed anything. Didn't come seeking anything."

Nettie Crowe has posed:
"Aye. Most Fae tend to stick to their own kind. Halfbloods -- I've known one or two -- choose one or the other, but they're too wild for the human side and too human for their Fae half."

And she turns, looking to Charlie with a little smile.

"Nah, lass, not as yet. Might need a runner one of these days, but word on the street -- an' from that, I mean some folks with fancy names -- do tell me you're the girl to call when I need a delivery done on the quick."

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
Charlie glances towards the door again. "Huh. Wonder if that girl is a half blood then." musings. Then she shakes her head. "I wonder if she will be back... definitely stands out a bit on the streets. Not too much.. I've seen more dramatic body mods and metas around New York but..."

Then back to Nettie. "Cools. Also nice that the rep is getting around... which beats the.. oh hey that red headed trouble stole my magical artifacts... stupid Rath." she looks like she bit a lemon saying his name. "Still yeah... I can bounce fast. Can't do sentients but I could move a car from here to Tokyo in a heartbeat." she vanishes in a slice of purple and pink smoke from one tea stool and a moment later is sitting on another one before taking a sip of the tea.

That chaos magic from earlier happens again though. Up closer it is obvious the young woman somehow convinced reality that she wasn't ever on the first stool but was on the other one the whole time. The amount of force needed to do that is actually remarkable and there was no overt casting. "Not sure how far I can go to be honest..."

Nettie Crowe has posed:
Well, the way of Magic is to convince the universe that you're right and it's wrong. And some people are just naturally talented at telling corkers.

"Good to know, and good to know. My teleportation takes a lot of focus and complicated circles."

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
"Well when I do it right and proper or portal for others.. it takes all that and a bag of chips. Right and proper is a lot hard work .. and makes me want to devour whole bags of chips now that I think about it." she grins though and sets down the empty cup.

"Lemme know though if you need a runner for anything, happy to help out the community ... and it isn't even due to community service or anything." a grin.
