Cast of Characters: Bishop, Lara Croft

Bishop has posed:
The past few days have been... challenging. He's not where he thought he would be. His partners are nowhere to be seen. Neither is the Mutan Criminal he tracked to the past. And so Bishop has been wandering around the past, trying to be unobtrusive in a past that is very different from the one he was prepared to come back to. Thankfully, he was a good enough detective to detect a hustler with no hustle and was able to get enough 'seed cash' to get some contemporary clothes and the kind of hotel room where you really don't want to know who stayed there last. Still, he's got to find answers somehow.

And thus this way ward time traveler has been trying to check out ever address in he can find t hat belongs to a 'Fitzroy' in hopes of a lead. Little does he know that this time line is no stranger to time hoppers, and there are people that pay attention to such things.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara Croft didn't have a lot of experience at this type of thing, but she was sent to try to make contact with a potential 'time traveler' of all things. She was asked because she was a Greenwich Village resident and she just so happened to be in the area near where Bishop had triggered a camera that had caught a glimpse of his face after SHIELD had followed a few leads to even get an idea of what he looked like.

So it was Lara's job to try to search the area and report to SHIELD Agents higher on the pecking order than her, what exactly he was up to.

So the Time Traveling Detective is being Detected himself.

By a young British agent, out of her element on this assignment, but still quite capable in her own right!

It's been a little while now, searching and following leads, but Lara has started to close in on him. He might start to suspect he's being followed as well.

Bishop has posed:
There's a trail. There's always a trail. Sometimes it's no trail, and it's satellite face recognition software, that didn't match him to anyone after picking him up just minutes after a 'temporal disturbance' was detect not a block from the location he was picked up at. At the time he was dressed in some sort of dark blue and yellow uniform with a stylized X on the shoulder that differed from the style used by the X-men. And of course there was the subsequent visit to Xavier's, the place where, apparantly, about 66% of time travelers end up at some point. At the very least he bared watching and bringing in for questioning, because quite honestly, it doesn't look like he exists.

Bishop for his part seems to be in stake-out mode. Looks across the street at a nice brownstone building. Dark eyes study the building as if he is hoping it will talk to him, but when it doesn't he sits on a bus bench across the street and opens up flimsy magazine that says, "Sudoku" on it. All the while watching the brown stone as he tries to appear to be completeding his puzzles, "I know this is a wild hair, but I might as well pluck it."

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara was not aware of the visit to Xavier's School, up to this point she didn't even know Xavier's School exist, she'd never heard of it or the X-Men. She'd only been in the United States since the start of February in fact, and the bulk of her SHIELD training had taken place in London before she was transfered here to New York to work out of the Triskelion.

But, she was being given some information on Bishop... very little though, a drip feed, and she suspected they didn't HAVE much information on him either.

A street camera had picked up that uniform he's wearing with the X on the shoulder however and it's a pretty stand-out feature. So when Lara sees someone on a bus bench with that same X emblazoned upon their arm, well...

Lara sits down on the other side of the bench from Bishop. She settles in to her new position and adjusts her black leather jacket over her body before she looks up and out to the city traffic. After a moment she looks over at the man and offers him a friendly smile. "I'm finally here before the bus." She speaks to him. "Call it a first." She shows the hint of a grin, her British accent thick and very foreign to this city.

Bishop has posed:
Bishop looks up to Lara and dips his head politely, "Not an easy task in this city." Bishop's voice is deep, a bit distant, but still pleasantly conversant. "Where I am from I am not used to public transit so this has been an adjustment for me." He looks down at his Sudoku book and then back up at the brownstone. "Student?" he asks, as if trying to make small talk, but clearly not all that profiecient at it.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara graduated college last May. She'd set out on her first post-College adventure later that year and it... well it had been an experience, to say the least. A bloody one. But it had also lead her to being put on SHIELD's radar and that's ultimately why she's here today.

But she still looks like a college student, easily-so, and NYU's campus is just down the street. So she smiles over at him at the question, but ultimately shakes her head. "I graduated last spring. I work at the Natural History Museum now. I'm an archaeologist."

After a small pause she asks him next. "What about you? You look like someone who is... an artist? Sort've a tough exterior, but a deep soul stoare your eyes." She shows a grin then and shakes her head. "I'm sorry. I'm in a strange a mood. It's been a long day, I guess."

Bishop has posed:
Bishop smiles as Lara ask if he's an artist, "I wish I were. Never been one that was any good at making things. Just breaking them." He draws idle circles on his sudoku book, the corner of his eyes watching the brownstone still. "Congradulations to you though! An Archaelogist, that's amazing. I hope you have an exicting career. I like to think there's always plenty to both inspire and guide us if we look to our past."

Sharply, Bishop looks up, as the faint sound of glass shattering comes from across the street. "Did you hear that?"

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara's intentions here aren't to outright lie to the man, she doesn't know what kind of man he is. Maybe he is of noble intentions. But she's also not going to lead with 'SHIELD Agent, here's my badge, come with me and lets talk' because that would... well it's not her style. She was told to gather as much information on him as she can, so that's what she's doing.

"Thank you." Lara says sincerely to his words. "And you're right, it's one of my driving passi---" She cuts herself off as he interjects and she /had/ heard the glass breaking sound across the street at that brownstone building.

"Yes, I believe I did." The Briton says back to the man. She looks across the street and then back to him. "Perhaps I should place a call to the police." She starts to reach for her phone out of her right jacket pocket.

Bishop has posed:
"Good idea." Bishop says as he stands up from the bench, and drops his sudoku book, grabbling his duffle that he had stuffed beanth the bench. For a big guy he moves fast, with the kind of explosiveness of a professional athelete, or someone that has lead a dangerous live as he races across the street and down the side alley along the brownstone, intent on rounding to the back.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara doesn't dial the cops, she dials her SHIELD contact. As Bishop starts to run, Lara looks up and moves after him. They both start to catch the eyes of pedestrians on the sidewalks, and a cab is forced to honk its horn at both of them as they clog the street on their way across it!

On the phone and about fifteen paces behind Bishop, Lara explains to her contact what's going on. She rushes after the time-displaced man, having yet to get the level of information she was hoping for from him, but he seems to be quite the... man on the move.

Lara gives a rundown of what's going on to her contact though before she deactivates her phone and pursues Bishop, running faster now to try to catch up with him.

Bishop has posed:
As Bishop rounds the back of the brown stone he drops into a slide creating a low profile. He reaches into the duffle and from it pulls free a blocky, gun shaped weapon. It hums to life as vents along the barrel glow a faint blue as he levels it towards a masculine shape trying to climb through a rear window having just broken it and cleared the shards with a tire iron. "Don't move! Back away from the window and turn to face me!"

It's just about now that he sees Lara approaching out of hte corner of his eye. He's going to have explaining to do, but he can't risk loosing this lead if it turns out he's just found Fitzroy.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara is as fit of a person as a person can come, so she's right there with Bishop as he draws that impressively dastardly looking weapon up out of his rucksack and aims down on the man at the window. It's... shocking to say the least. Lara's hands come up then and she holds them out with palms forward.

"Caaareful now." The Briton says to /both/ men. "This is not a necessary moment for any measure of violence." Slowly, Lara reaches to her jacket and she pulls out a badge now finally.

"I'm Agent Croft with SHIELD. I'm here to make sure that... whatever is about to happen between the two of you, assuredly does not in fact happen at all." That's not entirely true, but she most definitely doesn't want violence TO happen either.

Lara's brown eyed gaze goes from Bishop to the man who might be his ultimate mark.

Bishop has posed:
The 'man' breaking the window turns, and pulls off his ski mask and looks terrified, and he is less a man and more a dirty blond, stringy haired kid that has a peach fuzz moustache he's clearly been trying to grow to show how 'manly' he is. "Oh shit! SHIELD?!?!?! Oh god... is this an Avenger's house? Are you gonna shoot me... I'm only breaking in on a dare!" He's holding up his hands in suplication.

Bishop for his part lowers his weapon, setting it on the ground and taking one step back form it as he watches Lara. "Sorry kid... I thought you were someone else. But doing things like this is a good way to get shot."

Lara Croft has posed:
When the boy reveals his face and reveals his level of being terrified at their presence, Lara just frowns, a big frown. She moves to put her badge away again and then slides out her phone. Without any real fanfare, Lara raises her phone up and snaps a picture of the kid's face. She gets a funny expression of him being shocked and dismayed all at the same time. "Go on." She tells him. "Get out of here. We have your face on record, if you even think about another action like this we'll track you down and throw you into the 'Raft' for the rest of your life."

That's an empty threat, she'd seen threats like that on the television before. Lara's no cop, by any means, but this kid doesn't know that!

Croft's gaze glances over then to look at Bishop. She shows him a faint frown. He knows more of her story now at least!

Bishop has posed:
Empty or not that youth is running as far and as fast as his gangly legs can take him. He is happy for this reprieve and is all the while claming he's turned over a new leaf.

Bishop on the other hand has no such luck, "Hello Agent Croft." he says calmly. "I am looking for a man named Trevor Fitzroy and he's very dangerous. I have been systematically checking in on various 'Fitzroy's' in Manhattan to see if he's related to or hiding with any of them." He offers by way of explanation.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara gently nods her head to Bishop after pealing her eyes away from the teenager who'd run off. She releases a light exhale and places her hands into the side warmer pockets of her black leather jack that rests over a dark gray hoodie she wears half-zipped up beneath it over a white shirt.

After the nod she speaks up, voice calmer now. "I'm sorry for the deception, but SHIELD picked up on a temporal displacement that suggested you're... that you're not from this point in time. This set off a number of tracking measures that ended up with me being sent to find you. Ultimately... SHIELD needs... or wants... to know more about you. Being that you're potentially not from our time, this makes you a bit of a rogue element. Rogue elements make the agency uncomfortable. Idealy they'd like it if you would, if you are to stay here, work more closely with them so they can ensure." She pauses a moment then as she shakes her head ever so slightly. "They just want things to go as safely as possible, for the sake of innocent lives."

Bishop has posed:
"Nothing to apologize for. You are doing your job. I understand that." He sighs and nods, "Ok then. I'll come in with you and answer your questions as best I can."
