Cast of Characters: Ted Kord, Hella Rokkurdisardottir, Stella Roundtree

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord is walking down the street in Mid-Town. He has taken a rare lunch hour away from his business. He walks along in civvies -a Kord Co, set of coveralls. It s a pleasant walk, apart from a lady exec throwing her keys at him and barking to park it. He hands the keys to Steve the doorman, who is cracking up. "Find out her name... tell my PA to schedule a meeting tomorrow. Now... I want some schwarma." He looks about for signs of eateries.

Hella Rokkurdisardottir has posed:
Hella and Stella. The two are an interesting duo, both visually and in personality. Who knew they could get along so well, despite being so...well, diametrically opposite, in some ways! But, today, it's the afternoon and both of them agreed on schawarma for lunch. "What about one close to Kord Co? I grabbed something from there with Booster on way home, before pizzas, few days ago. Very good," she offers to Stella as she slips fer feet into her sneakers.

Hella's dressed in a tight-fitting, longsleeve t-shirt in white with an adorable little pig drawing featuring at the center. That said, she's wearing a pair of pink denim overalls with the cuffs rolled up stylishly. Her white sneakers complete the look. Oh, and her hair! The white-blonde tresses are gathered up into half-pigtails, the rest of it flowing down freely at her back. There's also a big red heart where the right back pocket would be! It's...an interesting look for the beefy cupcake of a young woman, but she seems to feel great about herself, so that's really what sells it. She's even wearing an entirely season-inappropriate fruity body spray that smells like soft plumeria blossoms! Seems like it's always summer for Hella.

"Let's gooooo~" she calls in a musical yodel.

Stella Roundtree has posed:
Stella's in a black and red light sweater, red at the collars and cuffs and black otherwise. Her hair is just finishing air-drying, she's got only a little makeup on, and otherwise she's in semi-loose gray jeans. Definitely a contrast to Hella's cheerful apparel, though not her demeanor. She's also in a good mood, and the lure of food gets her off the couch, where she'd been lazily playing out slow songs on her guitar. She gives a few more chords a swipe, "Oh, I could go for that."

And off she goes, putting her guitar back into her room and grabbing her own sneakers- though in contrast to Hella's white footwear, hers are... black. Unsurprising. "Coming!" she calls, twisting up her hair into a fluffy bun. "It is kinda nice to live with other people, really fills in the socials," she says as she walks out with her friend.

Hella Rokkurdisardottir has posed:
"You talk like we are in Sims 4 game, unh?" Hella replies with a laugh. "I fill up all social needs, no problem! Just don't walk into bathroom while I shower!" she winks at her friend. She makes sure to pick up her pink visor, one of her new gifts, and slips it into place on her face. "C'mon," she says with a smile, heading out the door and making the quick trip over to that awesome schawarma place near Kord Co.

When they arrive, Hella holds open the door for Stella and follows her in, already enjoying the smell of the food wafting out. "Yessssss, I am totally in mood for schawarmaaaa," she groans pleasantly. Then, she spots a wild Ted! "Oh, hey, look! It's Ted!" She waves her arm and calls loudly across the restaurant, "HI, TED!" Her smile is big and dimpled.

Stella Roundtree has posed:
"Oh, god, don't get me started on those. I had to leave my desktop in Columbus because I was worried I'd get here and just get on there and I just have SO many mods," Stella says as they walk out to the street. By the time they get in, she says, "I don't know that I've ever actually had shwarma? I've walked by 'em before, but I think tacos are usually my quick go-to," she says.

But hey, it IS a wild Ted! "Hey there," she says with a wave. She doesn't seem to be annoyed, mostly amused!

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord was sitting at the counter waiting to order when he was called. He gets up and goes to the ladies. Hella immediately gets a hug. Stella is given an open armed invite. She can take it or leave it because he still feels a little awkward. "Hey there! Oh, you're wearing the visor I made? Is it working okay with the phone? Hi Stella... we need to set up a day for you to do a bug sweep. Preferably a Sunday as a lot of systems will be shut down. Good to see you! This place has a great Yelp review. I heard about it from one of the custodians."

<<Police on the lookout for a hook and ladder truck stolen from Firehouse 191. Citizen are urged to keep alert and call in any suspicious activities... and score! Who says soccer is boring? Let's have a word with the coach, we got at least 20 minutes before anyone scores again...>

Ted looks over at the tv before it becomes an organ for Futbol. "Son of a mother!!! I was going to offer lunch but the Blue Beetle will look into this!!"

Rip! The coveralls breakaway, revealing his costume!

Hella Rokkurdisardottir has posed:
Hella grins at Stella, "Oh, schawarma is very good. So tasty. I think you will like." She smiles at Ted as he walks up, returning his hug with a couple of friendly back pats that might make his body thump a bit! "Good to see you," she says in a happy voice, before continuing. She sounds a bit sheepish as she admits, "I haven't figured out how to use, yet. I have been wearing as pretty sunglasses accessory." She's blushing a bit. Imagine telling a brilliant inventor she's just using his magnificent invention as a decorative item! She definitely feels embarrassed. "Blame Booster; he hasn't explained anything to me!" she throws him under the bus confidently.

"Oh, I was telling Stella, this place has very good schawarma. I had some few days ago---" But, then, she breaks off as she hears the alert go out. "Ted!" she says intensely, grabbing his arm lightly after he tears away his coveralls. "Is firetruck. I must help," she sounds insistent. "Stella, come help us?" she turns a pale blue pair of very serious eyes to her friend.

Stella Roundtree has posed:
Stella just gives Ted two gentle on the shoulder in response, "We can do a Sunday, that works. I've been finding some fun odd jobs, but they're week days and evenings, so we'll work it out. This place does look pretty good, though..." she says, looking over the options, feeling more hungry now that she's in there. It all smells so wonderful, and her stomach rumbles.
In fact, she almost doesn't hear her companions, not used to listening for emergencies or realizing there's much she can do. But the change of mood is definitely palpable. "Me? Uh, I think I'm a little outclassed in this, but I can try!" she says. Food can wait, there's friendship to be had! Or heroing, but the first is more motivating.

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted burst out of the diner. Standing in the street he sticks thumb and forefinger in his mouth he lets out a truly piercing whistle. the Bug lifts from its landing platform atop the Kord Building. The street darkens as it drops down hovering over its master.

A pair of shiny aero-discs fly out of the bug's ventral hatch and Ted hops onto them.

"Goddamit! Can't you take an Uber once n a while?!"

"My hat!!"

"Get outta here with that thing!!"

"Hi Spider-Man! The Beetle salutes the little boy idolizing him.

"I think I can manage you both in one trip. Let's see?" He holds his hands out.

Hella Rokkurdisardottir has posed:
Hella shakes her head to Ted's comment. "No worry about me. I fly. Very fast," she says, already lifting off the ground with no effort, at all. She helps Stella into Ted's grasp, though, ensuring she's secure before she lets go. "You sure you don't need your hands free?" she asks, looking at Ted in concern. "I can always hold, no problem. She weighs literally nothing to me. Can ride on my back," she says to Ted and Stella.

Before Stella's eyes, even amid the wash of light pouring off of the Bug and its discs, Hella's energy signature is lighting UP, and growing brighter as her adrenaline begins pumping.

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord waves off such concerns. "I have a safety belt for her. I do this all the time! Follow the Bug, I'll be getting live reports!" Awkward is gone now. He's Blue Beetle. Wait the Incomparable Blue Beetle. Also he gets a great idea to try out.

"I didn't know she flies too? Dd you? Wait she hovered by the pool. Sheesh."

He takes the controls. He also hits a few buttons, bringing up police reports and then he does a little bwahaha...

And Hella gets a flight path laid out for her on her visor. Better Heroing through Kord Tech!

Hella Rokkurdisardottir has posed:
Hella nods her head, not wanting to further complicate matters or slow down recovery efforts. No way! She hears Ted's instructions and calls out her compliance, "Will do! Don't worry about speed. I can fly very fast. As fast as 200 miles per hour, if necessary," she tells him, hovering close enough to be heard easily. "Go. I follow," she says, blinking as the visor suddenly displays the flight path overlay. "Ah, COOL!" she exclaims, tilting her head this way and that to see how the flight plan shifts to accommodate. "Let's gooooooooo!" she whoops. "We have firetruck to save! Evil-doers to apprehend!"

Stella Roundtree has posed:
Falling is not a concern for Stella, but all this energy is. Ted's tech is still an odd thing for her to see, the way its energy behaves. Gravity, on the other hand, makes sense.

Soon she's in the Bug, perhaps wondering about some choices that have gotten her into this position, learning about all these different skills that her friends have. "Not only does she fly, she apparently flies very fast," the brunette laughs. At least she's strapped in as they move towards the disturbance!

Ted Kord has posed:
The Bug shoots up, forcing Stella in her seat unless she feels otherwise, The bug needs to fly over buildings, despite being extremely fast, the more nimble Hella takes the lead as they head out over the FDR drive. A police cruiser is already in pursuit, others are far behind and trying to close.

The hijacker number six. As they come into view one of the criminals opens fire with an automatic rifle on the police cruiser. The bullets spray about. A passenger car's front tire explodes and the car skids out of control.

Hella hears Ted's voice over her visor -Booster should have taught her to use that thing. <<We'll save the citizens. You go after the truck... you can stop a car, right, Stella?>>

Hella Rokkurdisardottir has posed:
Hella takes the lead only by a smidge, to stay within the Blue Beetle's line of sight as he navigates the Bug along the flight path. She looks...so strange, flying effortlessly and with as good a flight-form as Superman himself, wearing those pink stretch denim overalls and those half pigtails trailing behind her in the oncoming wind as she hurtles through the air.

As Stella glances over at Hella, her energy readout is brilliant, as she's getting pumped just from being able to /fly/ again, on top of the excitement of being able to do some good, and thwart bad guys! Who would DARE to steal a FIRETRUCK! Oh, she is riled up! And, as a result, her power is coursing through her like the most addictive of drugs. <<You got it!>> comes her reply to the Beetle's order.

It really takes no time, at all. Once she spots her target -- the firetruck -- Hella is /on/ it. Flying above it, matching its speed easily. She reaches down her hands and, grabbing onto its framework to which the ladder and hook are attached, she is prepared to lift it. <<Just say when. Hahaha! I bring it into air with me!>> she sounds drunk on her own power, in the best sense.

Stella Roundtree has posed:
"I can stop a car, but I can also just slow things down. I've never tried a truck before, not one that big," she says back to the voice she hears. "But I have to be close. About fifty feet is my range, so has to be in that space," she says as they follow the bright light that is Hella- at least to Stella. All that energy and power rippling off of the other woman is a sight to behold!

"Shit, I'm too far away," Stella says as she sees the cars spin out of control. "I can't do anything from up here! Fifty feet isn't that much when you think about it!" she says.

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord brings the Bug down behind the stricken car. "Keep it straight and slow it down. Let it decelerate into the Bugs' legs." The legs form a cradle behind the car. "Whenever you're ready..."

Hella Rokkurdisardottir has posed:
Hella has a firm grip on the frame of the firetruck, the thieves inside it completely unaware of her presence.

Until she lifts the entire thing off the ground. With them inside it.

Chances are high they're freaking the hell out, but Hella can't hear them, right now. The wind is rushing past her ears and her blood is rushing through her body, adding to the windy washing sound in her ears. Ted didn't respond when she told him to say 'when,' so she decides for herself. NOW. She lifts. She rises higher and higher, lifting the firetruck with relative ease beneath her.

<<Where I should take this? To firehouse or police station?>> she asks Ted. While she's entirely capable of doing the heroics needed to recover the stolen vehicle, she's...not quite sure what to do /next/.

Stella Roundtree has posed:
THAT Stella can do. All those nights as a farm kid with nothing but junkers and tractors to play with. As the Bug dips down, she keeps the car in line, and then pulls the energy out of it. It fizzles away, the wheels slowing no matter how much gas is pushed through it, the car gently locks up and slows. The engine can rev all it wants, but it's like the car was put into neutral.

The car is gently guided back into the Bug, right into its arms like it wants to be there! It's no lifting of a firetruck, but it is rewarding!

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord gives the flying over to the AI and scoops the car up delicately. There is a soft crunch, a creaking of synthetic muscles and then the car is secure. The legs close protectively around the vehicle. Then with a roar of thrusters the craft lifts higher, even gains a bit to fly alongside Hella.

<< Bring it and them to the Bug's landing pad. It can take the weight and we can disarm them there and my security will hold them for the police. I'm radioing ahead now. Good job ladies! And we can still get schwarma!>> Cue trademark eyebrow waggle.

Hella Rokkurdisardottir has posed:
Hella looks over at the Bug as it levels up with her, a big grin on her face. She nods her head and, if she felt comfortable doing a one-hand hold with the firetruck, she'd give a salute. But, a firetruck is far too important to mess about with, even if she could probably manage it! Also, all the lives of people below her and the firetruck. Just not worth the showboating risk!

So, she replies via her visor, <<Sure thing! On my way!>> After a moment, she adds, <<If I wasn't hungry enough before, I sure as heck am, now! Schawarma shop, you better prepare yourself!>> There's a laugh as Hella soars through the skies with the firetruck beneath her, her arms straight and pointing to the ground as she holds it aloft via its framework. Before long, she's making a gentle, nearly perfect (there's a little jostling in the firetruck as she sets it down) landing on top of Kord Co's landing pad.

Stella Roundtree has posed:
It's not too hard when you have someone to help you! And in this case, it seems that Stella does. Very helpful indeed. As for disarming... well, she has a few ideas as they make their way to the landing pad. <<If Hella gives me a little bump of power, I can bounce their heads off the steering wheel?>> she suggests. Maybe not the best plan, but she's new to this!

Hella Rokkurdisardottir has posed:
Hella lets her feet come to rest on top of the firetruck. Its engine has long-since cut off because they were in mid-air and had nowhere to go. Now that they're on an open-air landing pad on the top of a building, they have...nowhere to go, either.

To Stella's request, she grins and tosses her a thumbs up sign as the Bug comes to a rest nearby. Close enough, for sure, for Stella to be effective. "HEY, YOU BUTT-FACED MISCREANTS! Steal firetruck, will you?! Let me give you round of applause!" she calls out to the thieves inside the firetruck's cab. And, then, she really puts her hands together, the clap sounding damn-near like a lightning strike happened right on top of the truck. <<Use as much as you like, bestie,>> she calls out between her deafening claps, generating plenty of energy for Stella to manipulate as she will.

Stella Roundtree has posed:
The sound is intense. Stella hops out of her seat and exits the bug, eyes on the waves that only she (at least at this moment) can see. It rains down on the cars one at a time. Like a lion's roar, it's deep and strong enough that it's disorienting to those within the vehicles, leaving them off kilter and confused. But there's just so much of it, and she can only focus on one thing at a time as she burns through the energy before it leaves her grasp.
And then she walks right up to the car, the door popping off, and guns are "handed" to her. Not so much voluntarily, as the people IN the car seem to be immobile, but she plucks them right out of their hands and ends up with an armful.
"What to I do with these?" she asks, as the criminals in the car turn a little bit redder. Circulation while loopy and frozen may not be the most comfortable position.

Hella Rokkurdisardottir has posed:
Hella smiles, standing tall atop the firetruck, her hands planted heroically on her hips as she watches Stella work. "You get 'em!" she says encouragingly as the door opens and lays the criminals bare, stuck in place, struggling to breathe well.

Hella jumps down with an audible thud, and doesn't even break her stride as she walks over to Stella, holding the guns. "Well, probably shouldn't have touched those, but they can always fingerprint us to remove us from suspects, right?" she replies with a crooked grin. "Let's give them to bots to secure for now. Police are on way," she says, tapping her visor, which is keeping her updated. "They are at bottom floor, so very soon."

Looking into the truck, Hella favors each one of the thieves with a deadly look, "You are lucky you didn't damage fire truck. Already, you put many lives in danger. If I wasn't good guy, trust me, you wouldn't be walking away from this at all." Her voice sounds dark and threatening, despite her bubble-gum cute outfit for the day. "SHAME ON YOU," she shakes a finger.
