Metropolisn't: Alice Well That Ends Well
Date of Scene: 01 March 2022
Location: The Castle of Alisn't
Synopsis: The Titans and their allies go to take the fight to The Alice Who Isn't An Alice. Things get weird. And then they get weirder still.
Cast of Characters: Terry O'Neil, Michael Hannigan, Madison Evans, Kaida Connolly, Kian, Gar Logan, Emiko Queen, Donna Troy, Nadia Pym-van Dyne, Caitlin Fairchild

Terry O'Neil has posed:
<<Queensland Park location confirmed>>

After that generous tip-off wrapped in a riddle from the Mad Hatter, the Titans had done their due diligence and started looking for the alleged dwelling place of Alisn't. A 'park fit for a queen' wasn't too hard a guess, to be frank, but pinpointing /where/ exactly in the borough it was proved to be a challenge. Unlike some of the more blatant Wonderland manifestations, the tampering with reality for the base had been fairly minimal... which made sense, for something that was supposed to be hidden. In hindsight, though, it should have still been plainly obvious.

<<Mount Royal it is.>> A district in Queensland Park, Mount Royal is also known as Ivy League Town, playing host to both Metropolis University and the Metropolis Institute of Technology. The triangulation that Vic and Nadia had found a single, if subtle, anomaly appearing in one of the university green spaces.

<<It's a well.>>

Of course it would be. The well looks, for all purposes, like your regular village well, with a dash of the fairy-tale flavor added by the colorful little gabled roof above it, ivy growing across it like a trestle. The fact that it is still winter and ivy doesn't exactly thrive in winter doesn't seem to bother this one much. Or at all. Satellite images taken over the last few months show that the well, indeed, just popped out of thin air. This must be it, indeed.

The Rabbit Hole opens up, leading the Titans from the tower to this particular Metropolis I T campus site. The gabled roof of the well sparkles in the sunlight, some frost and snow still clinging to it and the naturally-unperturbed ivy. "It looks rather... ordinary, doesn't it?" Vorpal muses, as he sends a text to Nick. It's nowhere near as advanced a warning as he usually likes to send, but the celerity with which they discovered the Wondermouth (as Vorpal started calling it and absolutely /no one/ copied) merited it. Better strike while the tea water is hot, right? <<Nick! We found the Wondermouth. Thirty Seconds to Rabbit Hole.>>

The Cheshire approaches the well with caution, peering over its edge.

It looks like an abyss, nothing is visible except a gaping darkness. And there is a strange scent wafting from it. It is syrupy-sweet.

Glancing over at the other Titans, he looks down at it again. "... only one way in, I think. Which is /on brand/, I'll grant you that. Last in is a rotten egg?"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
While Nick has been known to make an entrance into his shows, they tend to be more standard fare. Zip lines, stage lifts, well- the basic stuff. But this is no show. And with the help of a certain chaotic wielder of the rabbit holes, there are likely a few confused stage hands back in the UK wondering how Nick Drago vanished from a dressing room without using a door and why they even bother with security if they're just going to sneak out like that. Humph. Rockstars.

Fortunately for Nick, he got some warning in the text messages sent which allowed for him to quickly throw on a shirt AND send back a picture message so Terry aims correctly. An added bonus for Drago fans was that he he already had the stage makeup on.

To those who don't know him as Michael the stage attire is typical high end jeans and a tee. But for those who know him, it's a sharp contrast to the worn old second and third hand clothing he typically wears off the clock. His hair is not being confined by anything right now. Except whatever amount of styling substance was used to get the hair gone wild wave effect.

Nick looks over to Terry, "What the hell is a Wondermouth?"

Madison Evans has posed:
With the school science fair approaching, and a title to defend, the High School sophmore was on a fact-finding mission to the Metropolis Institute of Technology - but that didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun while she was at it.
That's what led her to be out on the lawn near the well, completely oblivious to its usual nature, as she walks with a fresh, hot cinnamon bun in her hands, nibbling at it with obvious sounds of appreciation. It was hard to miss the arrival of such a large and varied group of individuals, however - most of whom she knew from the news. Some of whom she knew from brief trips to the Tower - or from a previous encounter in this very same city.
"Oh! Hey! Are there more Snarks?!" the teen calls brightly, as she starts bounding her way over - seemingly oblivious to the fact that she might be heading //towards// danger.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
For her part, Kaida was just along for the ride. She was rushing along toward the site that was told to be a 'Wondermouth' and she was fighting not to run their the whole way with a palm to her face. Either way, once she arrived, she immediately started tapping her foot as she looked at one side, zipped to another, tapped her foot, zipped to another, tapped her foot, zipped to the lip and tapped her foot while looking down, and then finally zipped over to Terry to leap up to his shoulder and shrug.

"I got nothin', it doesn't look like a mouth at all. It's not really that wonderous. Your name just won't work. I'm calling it the 'Well of WONDERS!' as that sounds like something some charlatan might name something so ordinary to attract tourists." And then she leaps off to the lip of the well again and looks inside before looking back.

"That and it fits what it actually does. Anyway, bye!" And she simply runs into the well. Yep.

Kian has posed:
Kian peers into the well dubiously.  "Why can't anyone hide out in a large open area?" he complains.  "And how far down does it go?  It's not easy to land properly when you don't know where the ground is."
Obviously, he's done what he said he was going to to: kept one of the translators after the other birds were sent home.
He glances towards Nadia, bites his lip in indecision, and then asks, "Maybe you could reduce me again, like before?  If we were just walking through it, it might be okay, but I don't want to drop through anywhere I can't fly properly, especially when I don't know where the bottom is.  That never ends well."  He seems unaware that he's actually been slowly backing away from the well.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan has been monitoring things as best he can while assisting with the efforts to find their next target in order to hopefully get to the bottom of things, and he's there with Vorpal and the others as they arrive at the spot in Queensland Park. Mount Royal, Metroplis, Alisn't and whatever this 'Wondermouth' is supposed to be..there's a lot that hasn't made sense, but what about Wonderland ever has?

Costumed in his new red and white getup, he looks around before squinting into the depths of the well along with anyone else who does. "Oh, that smells kind of nice. Is there gonna be stuff down there asking us to drink or eat it? If I dropped a rock down, how long do you think it'd take for us to hear anything? It wouldn't be any trouble for me to get down there."

Which Kaida kind of renders moot, given her impulsive entry into the well. "So that just happened."

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko arrives with the rest of the Titans, still charmed by the novelty of the Rabbitholes (its her first one!), ambling through with the group to cluster around the well. As Drago arrives, her brows raise up, "Huh." Famous people are in the group! She makes a mental note to ask for an autograph later. However, with Kaida making the leap of faith, Emiko looks back to the others, "See you on the other side!" Then SHE is vaulting the well and disappearing into the black!

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna gives a wave to Madison when she bounds in their direction. "Heya Maddie. No Snarks today, but we think this is the source of the magic that was causing it. Or 'Wonderland Nonsense' to give it the technical term. You want to come along? We could use someone with Jedi mind powers." Donna winks at the not-really-a-jedi-but-kinda schoolfriend of Irie who she really should not be encouraging, but Amazons are kind of irresponsible like that.

She might be about to give Maddie some kind of warning, but then people start jumping into the well, so instead Donna facepalms and without another word dives in after Kaida and Emiko, with the advantage that if the well ends up being extremely deep she at least can fly and rescue people. "Nobody else jump in!" her voice echoes out from the well as she descends rapidly to overtake the others.

As it turns out, Donna's concerns are unwarranted. She rapidly passes Emiko, who is descending at a very slow rate, and then catches up to Kaida as she continues her climb down. After thirty feet or so, she just stops in the air to wait for the pair to catch up with her... there's clearly no risk from this fall.

The brick-lined passage down the well widens the further down they go, and at this point some thirty feet down, it's widened out to about ten feet in diameter. The walls are alternating black and white bricks, and the further down the well they go, the more square the bricks are becoming, until down at this height the walls appear like a checkerboard pattern. Further down, the angles of the wall start tilting, and the three can see the walls turning into a spiral below them from light coming up from the bottom. At this height the floor below is faintly visible, but still a long way down, and all that can be made out is that it appears to be golden in color.

The walls are not entirely bare but for the checkerboard pattern though... there are things decorating the walls after the first ten feet or so of the very slow drop. At first there had been framed photographs, black and white and old looking, but at this point in the fall the photographs are giving way to a chaotic assembly of clocks, each ticking slightly out of synch with the others.

"Impulsive much?" Donna says with a broad grin as Kiada clambers down to her level. "This is kinda fun," she adds to Emi as she too reaches the point Donna hovers.

Donna restarts her descent, keeping level with Kaida's descent, and sends a message back up to the others at the top via the T-Coms: <<Hey everyone, gravity seems to be kind of Wonderlandish here. Doesn't seem to be much danger from just following us in, Red is dropping very slowly. Join us at ten second intervals, that way I'll be able to catch everyone one at a time if gravity goes normal.>>

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia arrives in her sleek red and black Waspette armor, but for a change doesn't immediately remove her helmet. Something about possibly preventing further confusion with the historical Alice.

"I think the liquid is likely more of an issue than how far down it goes." Nadia tells Kian as she examines the well. "I doubt they're actually living beneath that syrupy water, rather this is likely some sort of portal to somewhere else. And if that is the case, I don't think there's any way to know what kind of spatial dimensions we're dealing with until on the other side, keeping in mind with what we've already seen of Wonderland, that could be literally anything."

At least that was what she was saying until people begin just jumping into the well. Nadia just sort of stares for a moment and sighs as caution and observation are thrown completely to the wind. Though when Donna gives the all clear ish, she extends her wings dives into the well.

Emiko Queen has posed:
"It was logical to assume that the well would work the same as the rabbit hole that took Alice to Wonderland... I actually figured on falling faster than this... and encountering more furniture along the way," Emi flashes a grin to Donna as they float gently down the well towards the unknown. She's still keeping a good stance, however, just in case the slow drift ends and they start to pick up spped. She intends to not tumble down like Alice!

Caitlin Fairchild has posed:
Caitlin leans waaay over, using her maul for a counterbalance so she doesn't fall in. That's a nasty fall if there's anyone who happens to be standing in her landing zone.

"Hey, I'm coming down!" she calls down to the others. "...No one be underneath me!" she says, and waits for someone to call up an 'all clear' before she hops into the passage.

She lands heavily, knees flexing to absorb the brunt of the impact, and throws her hammer up on her shoulder pauldron. She's kitted out in her Amazon armor, with a small slingpack at the small of her back. Her drone clambers up and perches on her shoulder, twitching its wings like a dragonfly.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Nick blinks at the case of mouse running by to run into the deep well. "Did she just-?" Nick stops as another body falls into the well. He looks to the others to determine if this was expected behavior or not. "How have those two lived for as long as they have?" And then Donna dives in. "Oh for f-"

He finally registers a Madison having arrived, "-udge's sake."

The echo of Donna's 'come on down' does make its way up. Well, that's reassuring. Nick looks over to Terry. "Anytime with you is interesting." Nick declares before he hops in. In the darkness, his form shifts, becoming more avian on the way down on the Wonderlandian elevator.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"It's where the Fake Alice is. You know the one who's been causing all of this nonsense around Metropolis?" Vorpal answers nick, and the Cheshire cat blinks as Kaida leaps in. And then Emiko. "Well, Colette always did say I would drive everybody over the edge one of these days."

His ears twitch and he peers up at Madison, "Oh... Madison! As Donna said, we're going to hunt for the not-Snark. Jedi mind tricks might be useful, alongside other talents," he gives Nick a quick glimpse. Having learned some more information about the nature of Wonderland, Nick's knack with dreamstuff would not be amiss.

At Donna's communication, the Cheshire nods towards those still above ground, "You heard the Amazon, kids, it's just a gentle fall." He gives Kian a tug of the arm, "Come on, there's nothing to be afraid of!"

And then he dives in. Headfirst. AFTER Caitlin has jumped in, just in case. The Cheshire spends the fall laying back, arms behind his head and legs crossed, "This is sort of kind of soothing," he says when he gets to the off-beat clocks, "Almost like a gentle reminder that no matter how much we seem to know of the UNiverse, things are always rather unpredictable."

He rights himself just before touching the ground and-

Squelch.

"OH GOD IT'S STICKY." He raises his foot and ughs. "Wait... that's..." he bends over and runs a finger across the golden substance on the floor, several inches thick. He tastes it. "Of course.... treacle."

He quickly steps off to let the rest of the team land. The well chamber is enormous, large enough for Kian to extend his wings, and there some. "Of course it would be a treacle well..." On the far end of the large circular chamber, a few checkerboard steps lead to a raisedcorridor. The corridor is very wide and long, lit by curious sconces in the shape of teapots with luminous flames sputtering out of their spouts. Across the length of the floor, there are tables here and there, each piled with dirty dishes, teacups, saucers and silverware. But at the end of the corridor, the room splits into a 'T', with one door leading to the left ("THIS WAY" written across a dainty plaque on it) and one to the right ("THAT WAY", respectively.)

The Cheshire cat hms and rubs his chin. "... Okay, I see where this is going... I choose... THAT way." He glances at the team, and then at Donna. "We could do what we did last time and split."

Because that ended so well for him, didn't it?

Madison Evans has posed:
"My mom is gonna kill meeeeeeeeeeee!" is Madison's take on a 'battle cry' (apparently) as the teen likewise leaps into the unknown - an eager grin on her features. She only wishes Irie were along for the adventure.
"You really should be more creative than 'fudge.' I'm fond of 'Son of a Fruit Fly!' personally. Maybe it could be for flamingo's sake? Or fawn's sake? Or fibula's sake? There's so many wonderful- wait, was that a drawing of a hamster wearing a fe- OH FOR FEZ'S SAKE!"
She lands not far from Terry, looking down at the sticky mess, and adding a loud, "EWWWWW. How am I gonna get my shoes clean?" she complains.
She glances at the two signs and then suddenly lets out a cheerful, "This way this way!" starting towards the indicated exit.
She honestly seems to believe there could be no real danger in this nonsense world. Hopefully she's right?

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Wow, this is just cool!" And then she notices the golden substance and blinks and then grabs out a tiny hip pack over and pulls out a tiny specimen container and proceeds to take a tiny sample and grins as she puts it away. She then looks over in time to see Terry taste it. She slowly blinks at it him efore tliting her head.

"Why...why would you put that in your mouth? Do you often just put things in your mouth? Are you a toddler?" She shakes her head at Terry before looking over to the others before looking back to him.

Kian has posed:
Reassured that the well broadens out, Kian glances skyward in supplication.  "If I /am/ Your avatar, You better keep an eye on me," he mutters half under his breath, and hops in.
The fall as a fall is weird not for falling, but for falling at a leisurely pace. Surely no one will be surprised to hear the words "Earth is *weird*!" at some point.
Also, it gives him plenty of time to see Terry's landing, and so rather than land, he drops into a hover.  "I do *not* want that goo in my feathers," he states, and seeks out a non-treacly place to land.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
The quiet raven gently flies down. Landing on Terry's shoulder, avoiding the sticky mess below.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan makes sure he is the last one down, a sense of..something coming over him like he needs to be the one to watch over the rest on the way in. Or, perhaps being at the back of the line will make it easier to see any trouble ahead of them. Hopping in, he experiences the same slowed descent as the rest until he lands softly at the bottom, peering at everything around them. "This is way, way too familiar. I mean, we all know the story, or the different movies and shows and stuff. But actually seeing it all like this? Man." Some of them have experienced Wonderland weirdness already, and hell - he's in a freaking /relationship/ with someone who has the Cheshire Cat himself as part of him.

It should be no surprise that, especially after the last thing he was involved in with all this, that he veers toward Vorpal. "Definitely 'That Way.' I'm keeping an eye on you this time," he states, poking the cat in the shoulder. Any chances to say something inappropriate or with a double meaning are passed on.

Emiko Queen has posed:
When they near the bottom, Emiko looks to Donna with a grin and holds a hand out, "Swing me? I'd like to avoid the sticky stuff if possible. It always requires one of those really nasty industrial strength de-gooifiers to get it off." Yep, technical term there. She watches the others, chuckling, "Well, we have choices! I'm fine going either way, so... however it works out."

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna extends a hand to take Emiko's, but rather than swinging her she just flies her over to the steps where she can land free of the treacle. She comes to land too, and intercepts Madison, placing a firm hand on her shoulder to stop her rushing off /too/ precipitously. "Hold up there," she says, grinning. "There could be dangerous things down here. I know the Snark hunt was fun, but we had some fighting with previous Wonderland encounters. We're going to go with the fighters up front, okay?"

She turns her head to nod in Terry's direction. "Yes, let's divide into two teams. Stay in regular contact over T-Com. Notification tap every minute or so just to show you're still active. If the other team misses a ping, talk to them. I'll take 'This Way' with Maddie and whoever else is coming. Mike, I suggest you come with me so we've got someone good at dealing with dream nonsense on each team. Who else is on team This Way?"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
The raven looks over to Terry and the fork in the path. Glimpsing between the two groups, he was planning to go THAT way but then he saw the student going WAY too eagerly towards This way. "Dammit." The raven mutters, looking sternly to Terry, "Do NOT get hurt." Wings spreading he flies over to team This. He lands onto Madison's shoulder, ready to phantasm her if need be.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia zips through the chamber and corridor glancing at the remains of what appear to be discarded tea parties as she goes. She's never been part of a tea party before, though she likes tea well enough, but they seem to be important to Wonderland.

<<Is this some sort of riddle?>> She asks approaching the fork. <<It seems like the logic of the English language would indicate we go This Way, since That Way would be a speaker not actually in said direction, but with Wonderland that probably means we should go That Way instead?>> Really, the way Wonderland bends logic is enough to make a science girl like Nadia go cross-eyed.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Looking from one direction to the other, Kaida hmms before looking to Nadia briefly, "I have a sample of the weird golden stuff for later, Nadia! I'm going with Donna. She usually goes where things need to be hit." And then she waves to her fellow G.I.R.L. member and races off to join Donna. She'll hop up on to Donna's shoulder if allowed for the duration of the journey.

Emiko Queen has posed:
Landing lightly, Emi smiles towards Donna, "Thanks." When Madison starts running towards This Way, she starts like she'll go after the girl, but Donna gets there first, leaving Emiko to nod and look to Kaida with a smile, "I can give you a lift if you want to stick together? We can stay with Donna." She looks back to the Amazon, "If that works? That's five to a group."

Madison Evans has posed:
Madison pulls up short at the hand on her shoulder - her eyes going wide for a moment. "Wait. Actual trouble?" she asks in a surprised voice, before looking at the bird which abruptly lands on her shoulder. "Oh. It's mister Raven's Nest in the Crow's Nest! Hello again," she greets the bird, before giving a shrug, and gesturing to Donna to proceed her.
Cupping her hands to her mouth she calls in the other direction, "Have fun storming the castle!"

Terry O'Neil has posed:
As Vorpal opens the door, a flight of checkerboard stairs is revealed. "Aha! That's a good sign! Important places usually go up! You don't find throne rooms in basements! Alright, team That way! Off we go!"

As the leader of the team, he starts climbing the stairs, looking over his shoulder to call back at Nick: "I will be fine! I am not going to get hurt this time! Seriously, who do you think I am?"

And then something goes awry, his foot finds no purchase, even though it clearly sets down on a step. It goes /through/ it. So does the rest of Vorpal, "I'M FALLING!"

There is a yell, and then it turns into a scream that gets further and further away as the Cheshire Cat slides his way down what can be described as a checkerboard slide, the surface smooth and polished enough to make the Cheshire just whizzz down. At times he can swear that the slide does a loop-de-loop, and at one point he's upside-down.

*Ploof*

"And now I'm covered in-"

He rises. The slide having dropped him into what appears to be an enormous pie. Which is one of the many enormous dishes that seems to be upon an enormous table in an even more enormous room. He glances upwards and sees the very end of the slide, peeking out of a hole in the ceiling.

"Careful out there guys! That last step is a doozy!" he shouts, wondering if anyone can hear him.

Gar Logan has posed:
Following the split, Beast Boy is quiet for a relatively long length of time, at least for him. Half a minute or so as they begin to make their way up the steps. "I don't know about this being the better way than the other, but here we go. And you should know better than to say something like that, because..there. That's why."

He halts and quickly reaches out for Vorpal but comes up empty as the impulsive cat steps /through/ and begins to fall then slide, some of the sounds of that path carried back toward them. "Bees? Tell me he isn't covered in bees. At least you could help with that if he was, though," he says to Nadia, squinting in hope of seeing anything that makes much sense of the path ahead. Leaning forward, he reaches around to see if the steps above what Vorpal went through are real or, presumably, also an illusion.

Kian has posed:
"Oh Gods, not more /stairs/," Kian moans, clearly thinking about the adventure in Tartarus.  So naturally he takes to the air, as best he can.
When Terry disappears, He starts to dive to the rescue -- except where to? The steps look solid, even though Terry passed through them.
Well, if Terry can pass through them, so can a birdman.
That would be the case, surely, if Kian had chosen the spot with the actual illusory steps.  He didn't.  He wasn't moving too fast and he wasn't diving, because he just couldn't convince himself to approach what looked like a solid floor head first and at speed.
But he did land pretty hard, and awkwardly, about six or seven steps up from where Terry disappeared.
He switches off the translator before offering any further comments.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia looks at the checkered steps, studying them for a moment as she considers white kind of puzzle this might be. Her first thought is something tangentially related to Chess or Checkers and was about to say something when Terry starts forward and is suddenly gone.

"Damn it!" Replaces whatever she had been going to say. "I'll get him." She tells Gar and without hesitation steps forward after Terry, allowing herself to drop through the stairs as well. The Waspette, however, has a few advantages when it comes to falling through floors and the crazy slides that follow, namely wings and no small amount of acrobatics training. The wings let her slow and control her descent as she wizzes down the slide. At the very last moment when she feels herself airborne again, Nadia's wings start beating madly as she hovers in the air looking down to take in Terry's situation.

<<Good news, he is not covered in bees. He uh ...he seems to be in a giant pie.>> Nadia's voice comes back through the comms. <<In fact there's a whole table, no a whole room of giant food, this place is huge, what's going on?" Though in the back of her mind her brain informs her, Wonderland duh. Of course it's not going to make sense. Maybe there's a pun here somewhere...

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Nadia!" Vorpal calls out as he swims ut of the pie, peach sticking to him. "... where's everybody else?"

As that reunion below takes place, there is a separation above, as Caitlin suddenly vanishes. The last anyone sees of her is her red hair sinking into the ground as a trap-door opens under the steps she was standing on. The trapdoor closes, without a sign of it ever being there, just solid staircase.

There is suddenly a rumbling, and the opening in the ceiling starts to close, slowly. The Cheshire's eyes go wide: <<GUYS, get down here or we'll be separated! The passage is closing!>>

Thud. Thud. Thud. There is /another/ sound shaking the room. The sound of very heavy footsteps coming from the door at the end of the room.

Someone is coming.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan gestures. "Look, the steps above us are..oh, flark." Where did he pick up that word? It's not a common expression amongst Earthers. No matter. "Kian, watch..ow." He grimaces at this, then Cait's disappearance, leading to him lamenting, "This is quickly going upside down. What's that, Nadia?" he calls, given what she's saying about the size of the..pie? Rubbing the sides of his face with both hands, he realizes this is starting to look like it's going to go the way it will and there's nothing he can do about it.

"I think we either got shrunk without knowing, or we ended up in a place of giants." The warning about the pathway closing up, plus the thudding? Lest /he/ get separated as well, there's nothing else to do but get down there. He does so after turning into a green bird, the easier to deal with and avoid, hopefully, becoming one of the four and twenty blackbirds. "I'm coming! Down, I mean!"

Kian has posed:
Kian hops down to where Gar disappeared through the floor and drops thorugh himself, although he stays flying rather than taking the slide.  And follows Gar so that he doesn't slam into anything else.  "Of course it's all going wrong.  That's the way things always happen, right?"
He's careful not to land in the pie either -- more goo he doesn't need in his feathers.  "And I really don't like that booming sound, whatever it is."

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
"They're up above!" Nadia calls down to Pie-Vorp as he emerges covered in peach filler. "Are you okay?!" She asks, her eyes go between Terry and the pie, back and forth. "That looks both delicious and fun." It is pretty clear she kind of wants to try swimming in the pie herself. But then, she of all people can try that later when they are not in possible mortal danger, so it is put aside for now.

<<We're not shrunk, all of this is just somehow massive!>> She calls back to Gar and the others over the comms before being cut off by the thundering noise of the approaching footsteps. "That sounds really big, we should probably hide for now!" She shouts to Terry, before zipping down tableward to take cover among the various dishes.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Right!" Vorpal shouts and reaches over to grab Kian and Gar, so they can zoom towards the large teapot that is sitting at the center of the table. He pulls them with him so that the pot is between them and the door, and the thud, thud, thud grows louder.

Until the door opens, revealing an enormous upright frog, dressed in livery and a footman's wig that... is actually rather fetching. For a frog.

The Cheshire cat peers out from under the handle of the teapot and gasps. <<Holy shi->>

"And don't forget the /tarts!/" a shrill voice comes from beyond the door, and the footman rolls his eyes. Which is impressive, for a frog. As he walks into the room, the door to the room beyond remains open.

The frogman's steps resound through the room as he walks towards the table. Now that the Titans have had some time to look around, if briefly, it is clear that the table is replete of different dishes, most of them are still steaming and warm, as if they had been recently placed there. But there are no chairs.

The frogman finally approaches the table, at an angle where Nadia and the other Titans are hidden by the dinnerware, and then he stops, his large eyes fixed on the plate that is right next to the tarts.^r
The peach pie.

<<Oh /shit/!>> Vorpal mutters into his comm.

The Frogman leans forward, extending a green finger to touch the edge of the pie, hmmmming. Then, he seems to notice the tiny footprints coming out of the pie. Fortunately, they fade after a few steps, but it is lear that the frog has noticed them.

One of the plates, the one furthest from them, gets lifted.

<<Um... guys...>>

Gar Logan has posed:
"Awk!" Gar blurts as he's grabbed, still in bird form, and tugged over to the teapot so they can hide behind it. "Dude, what was that for?" he asks, returning to normal by that point. "Look at all this food. It's like I died and went to heaven. I could eat for /days/ and not run out. Why, I--"

Oh, right. Heavy steps coming, and someone entering. "That..is not Kermit," he whispers to those with him. Commspeak follows. <<Nadia, go small..er, smaller. Trust me, you do not want that guy to mistake you for a fly.>>

He gestures Vorpal's way. "Well, do something. Like, make an illusion. Something that'll get him to go. And whose voice was that in the other room?"

Kian has posed:
    Kian doesn't even take the chance of being overheard, and keeps one hand on Terry.  {/I don't remember these characters being giants in that book!/}
    At least the room is a sensible size.  The birdman really wants to take to the air, but drawing attention to himself would be bad.  Nadia might be the one most likely to be mistaken for a fly... but he's the second one on that list.  {/And if he notices us... what are we supposed to do?/}

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
For her part Nadia dives from sight just before the colossal frogman appears. She hardly needs to be told that smaller is better, assuming a size that should be barely visible to him as she makes her way sneakily among the dishes on the table, like that famous video game character with the box fetish.

Fallen from the edge of the table, she floats like a dust mite on the wind through the air and then. She continues to flutter until she has made her way behind the frogman, at which point she throws things into reverse and begins to grow and grow. Not to the same size as the amazing colossal amphibian, the amount of Pym Particles required and physical toll would make that a dangerous gamble at best, but a 'giant' (to everyone else) 'tinkerbell' to the frog is easily doable. And so, pulling off her helmet, the Alice Fairy flutters up to the Frogman's shoulder. "Excuse me!" She calls out in a cheerful tone. "What are you looking for?"

Terry O'Neil has posed:
The Frogman is aghast when Nadia appears at shouder height. His eyes, for a moment, seem to recognize her- that face! But then, something seems to click in the Frog's mind, and he huffs. "Mary Ann! That is /not/ funny!" the frog points towards the pie, "It is not time to dip your fingers in every pie! The Majesty /wants/ the royal tea /now!/"

With an indignant gesture, he grabs the tea kettle. Vorpal /clings/ to dear life, dangling from it, clinging to one bird and hoping the other one clings to him tightly. <<Don't let go!>>

The frog takes something out of his pocket and swats it at Nadia. It's a fan. The air current could probably send her flying- except that she suddenly grows to be on size with the frog! "As punishment, you get to serve the royal tea! Get on now. Didn't you hear?" he gestures towards the door and then he shoves ta plate of tarts and the kettle at Nadia. "I am absolutely tired of dealing with /that/ temper tantrum. I will be taking a time out."

Saying that, he strides towards one of the walls and grabs one of the clocks hanging from it. Curiously, the clock hands seem to be stuck at 4 o'clock thanks to a pair of knives cleaved on its face. The hands appear to struggle to move.

The frog sniffs and, clock under one arm, he walks out of the room via a secret door that seals itself seamlessly after him.

"Where is my TEA? My TARTS?" that shrill voice echoes again.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan's eyes dart back toward Vorpal and Kian, then in Nadia's direction as the gambit is attempted before, well, failing. Mostly? She is tasked with serving, and he utters quietly as he can, "It's probably a good thing he didn't make her go put on a server's outfit or something, but won't her costume give her away?"

Then that tea kettle is lifted, and the three of them with it, and it ends up in Nadia's possession. That is, at least, fortunate. He eyes the frog and the poor clock, and the door that opens and shuts to leave him gesturing in that direction next. "Uh..now what? Is that who I think it might be in there? What are we supposed to do?"

Kian has posed:
"I wouldn't worry about things not making sense.  If she appeared perfectly normal, *then* it would look suspicious," Kian says, then gives Gar the slightest smirk.  "Well, I think the important thing is that we not lose our heads."
Kian does let go -- but only to flit up to a more secure perch on the handle, offering a hand up to Terry.  And then he's looking for a place that offers better cover, because the teapot is not going to be long-term tenable.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia blinks in surprise as she is suddenly made 'full size' by the wave of the fan. "Oh, yes. That's me, Mary Ann. Uh sorry about the pie, it just looked so tasty." She hastily improvises as the frog clocks out in every sense of the word.

The plate of tarts and tea kettle are accepted a bit awkwardly, as she tries not to smoosh or shake off the tiny passengers that only she is aware of. "Yes, tea. I can serve tea." She's at least /watched/ tea be served before ...how hard can it be? "COMING!" She calls in answer to the shrill demanding voice, before retracting her wings and jogging in that direction.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
And as Donna and company march towards the end of the corridor, the doors open wide to reveal-

The Throne Room is a decidedly mad affair- it is grandiose, but merely in its sheer size. In actual decor, however, it consists of a great hall whose floor consists of nothing but rectanular tables shoved together to form a uniform floor, adorned with a myriad collection of disparate tablecloths, all of them colorful and not a single one of them tasteful. The walls are comprised of grandfather clocks of all shapes and sizes, not a single one ticking at the same time to create a constant, maddening thrumming. Along the walls, various guards in mis-matching armor and weapons stand at attention, and at the far end of the room the tables rise to form a few steps, at the top of which an enormous teacup is placed, made with glistning porcelain. Or, to be more accurate, /half/ of an enormous teacup. The internal space is stuffed full of burgundy cushions, and upon the cushions sits-

Not Alice.

The March Hare sits there, wearing a red crown that emits a steady red and purple glow, one that matches the long scepter that rests across his lap. "I WANT MY TE-"

His shrill voice stops as one of the walls opens to reveal an enormous Nadia Pym Van Dyne, who is carrying a plate of tarts and a tea kettle. The Hare's eyes go wide like tea saucers, and he squeaks "Ali---- wait." A pause. "MARY ANN? Why, how wonderful! To come all the way over to serve me my tea!"

The hare gestures to the other enormous teacup half, which is placed beside his makeshift throne, "Half a cup, why don't you be a dear?"

From the Titans' angle down on the floor, Donna and company will be able to see that Vorpal, Kian and Gar are dangling from the tea kettle, rather precariously.

And the Hare stops, apparently noticing someone else has entered the room. His eyes go to Donna's group, and stop on Alisn't. "What is SHE doing here?" he shrieks petulantly, pointing a finger at the group.

Madison Evans has posed:
As Madison enters, backpack slung on her back, and a teapot with crab-like legs at its base and a flame in its spout clutched in her arms, she looks across the floor of be-clothed tables and lets out a loud, "Oh. Em. GEE, this is AMAZING!" She seems happy to traipse across the tables, tapping as loudly as she can with her sticky, straw-covered shows, as she tests if they really are walking across a raised surface - or if its simply table tops set into the floor.
The giant Nadia she takes in stride. That's a thing that happens with Pym particles - as she well knows from her last science project. And besides, it's also something that happens in Alice in Wonderland. It's a toss-up as to how she got big, really. "If any of you want to jump down - one at a time! - I miiiiight be able to catch you but maybe not because I've never tired catching anything that big before with the Force!" she calls up to the stranded heroes.
Hey, but no time like the present to give it a try, right?

Donna Troy has posed:
"She's our prisoner, Hare!" Donna calls out across the hall. "We've come to take her out of your hair, Hare. You wouldn't want to keep her down here, Hare! It's almost midnight, and it's March the thirty-first. In just a few moments it will be April the first. Didn't you hear, Hare? In this world, everything turns around on April the first. If she had remained your prisoner when the clocks struck midnight, you'd have to let her go and imprison yourself. And then you couldn't have tea for MONTHS, and that's hardly fair, Hare. You wouldn't want that, would you? You'd have nothing to eat or drink but air, Hare!"

In case anyone might be concerned that Donna's finally succumbed to what she refers to as 'Wonderland Nonsense', she then drops to a whisper and her voice comes over the T-Com. <<He goes completely insane during March and took over. Maybe if we can persuade him it's no longer March he'll calm down.>>

She also takes the opportunity to uncoil her lasso ready for use as the team marches into the room, keeping close to Madison in case the guards get it into their heads to start attacking the group.

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko slips in and starts to make her way around the edge of the room, trying to stay relatively hidden while Donna calls attention towards herself and Alisn't. She pulls an arrow from her quiver, twisting the tip to 'activate' it, then nocking it to the bowstring. Taking careful aim, she lets it loose, sending it flying... right past the March Hare and up towards the ceiling!

The effect of the strange arrow, however, tugs hard at the scepter held by the Hare, aiming to pull it straight out of his hands! It would leave the scepter attached to the arrow, and both dangling from the ceiling. Free to be grabbed up by any nearby teammates that are large, or have telekinetic powers, or can fly, or lasso, or jump really high, or open Rabbitholes... so many possibilities!

Kian has posed:
"I don't fall, I fly!" Kian calls down to Madison, "so you don't have to worry about me!"
And with that, he dives away from the teapot, then up towards the ceiling.  Eyes in the sky, that's his job.
Mostly he's keeping an eye out for any guards who look like they might move on one of his teammates.  He hopes they don't.

Gar Logan has posed:
"Don't worry about it!" Beast Boy calls down to Madison. "We've all been in tighter places before! Keep your eyes out for anything, uh, really weird!" That won't limit things very much, will it?

To Vorpal, as he still dangles from the large tea kettle with Kian, he says, "One way or another, let's get down from here and do what we can to help. We can both fly, and I can be whatever I need to be. I'm just gonna let Donna try to follow that angle. I don't remember this part of the stories very well." Wait, the others did return, somewhere in the midst of all this. Time to figure all that out later.

Letting go, he takes his own Akiar form for added versatility in case he's got to use his hands instead of simply flying, but in this oversized room of oversized people and things, there's a limit to how big he can reasonably go. Even a large dragon might not cut it. "Be ready for anything!" He's going higher up as well, for another pair of eyes above.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia strides into the room and gives the March Hare her best smile. "Yes, it's me and I've brought the tea. It's been awhile and I thought it would be wonderful to see you." She carries over the kettle to which several of her fellow (tiny) Titans cling and sets down the tarts. "Have a tart, they're freshly made."

She glances down briefly to where Terry and the others are holding on, to make sure they are holding on, before tilting the kettle to pour the tea. "Here you are, a nice cup of tea." Perhaps surprising to some but to no one who actually knows her background, Nadia is a pretty good actress. Though her eyes do stray towards the entrance of Donna's group and Alisn't when the March Hare shouts in that direction, but to her credit she does not break character of whoever this 'Mary Ann' is or at least he guessed idea of her.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Such a /respectful/ one, too it's always good when the help doesn't lose respect. Otherwise they must go and find it, and they go all over town being irrespective this, irrespective that, and they eventually end up becoming Professors and there is /no/ salvation once that-"

The Hare's mercurial manner is evident in how he goes from imprecating at the visitors to idly chatting with 'Mary Anne,' who pours tea into the half-cup. No tea spills out but rather stays in.

Another quick change in his attitude, and he shakes his head, "No! You lie! The Time has not /moved/ since March first! It is /teatime/ on March first! This has been ensured!"

He gestures wildly at the walls of clocks. Everys single cock face has those knives dug in, preventing the advance of the hands, which seem to squirm ike worms. It is at this moment that Emiko's trick arrow comes in and yanks the scepter from the Hare's lap "GUARDS!" the Hare calls out, "Suppress them!"

The crown flashes, and the room suddenly becomes even larger than it was before, and the number of guards seems to have multiplied. The armored frogs start advancing towards the Titans, menacingly. Some of them carry burlap sacks. For some reason. A few have also taken out bows and arrows and start firing at the two airborne titans.

"Not now, my dear," the Hare says, leaning back on his throne in a melodramatic gesture, hand waving at Nadia, "I have lost my appetite. See if they have it in the kitchen?" His fury seems to be short lived, "Bring me some more knives, we /really/ have to nail down the hour!

Vorpal, for his part, watches the arrow and the scepter, and he says <<I'm going after that scepter!>>

A Rabbit Hole is all it takes, and in a second the Cheshire cat grasps the scepter with both hands. "I've got it, I've got it!" he calls out triumphantly. "I've go-OOOOOOOOOAH!"

Suddenly there is a bright magenta flash of light-

And Vorpal and the scepter are gone.

Madison Evans has posed:
"We need that - right?" Madison stage-whispers to Donna as she watches Emiko lay claim to the sceptor with her rather interesting arrow. Maybe she can be of help here, after all! Reaching out with one hand - she gets a look of concentration as she stares at the crown, and tries to pull it off the Hare's head with her mind. After a moment of concentration, though... Nothing happens! "Well, DARN!" she says forcefully. How annoying! "The Force isn't working on the crown!" she complains.
"But maybe it'll work on..." Seemingly unperturbed by the guards, her attention turns to the numerous clocks as she decides to start plucking the little knives out, one by one, to allow time to progress.

Donna Troy has posed:
"Yes! Good idea, keep removing knives. But watch for the guards and keep a safe distance from them," Donna says to Madison, before doing the exact opposite. She sprints forwards, closing in on a group of archer-frogs, her lasso lashing forwards like a rope of flame as it glows golden in her hands. The coils snare the legs of a frog and she yanks backwards and around, pulling on frog from his feet and jerking him into a couple of his fellows. With a flick of the wrist she releases the lasso and leaps high in the air.

As she descends towards the group two of the frogs with faster reactions than their fellows raise their bows to meet her and let loose. The first arrow she deflects with a bracer, the second she snatches out of the air. As she lands she buries the arrow into the arm of the archer who fired it while kicking backwards to knock his fellow to the floor. She spins and lashes out with her lasso again, using it whip-like to knock down two more frogs closing in on her, then leaps forwards to barrel into another cluster of the frog soldiers and force them to fight her close quarters.

"You've been fooled by Alisn't!" Donna calls out to the Hare, speaking as she fights. "You only froze time in your lair, Hare! Haven't you heard of time zones? This world is round so it's always teatime somewhere, Hare! There's no need to kill time. She made you think that you could stop the clocks, but there are too many in this world. Billions! You can't kill them all, so time keeps going, and in moments it will be midnight. You fell into her snare, Hare! When midnight comes round and it's April the First, whoever has the regalia loses everything. We're here to help! We only came because we care, Hare!"

Donna picks up a frog and hurls it into a couple more that are charging towards her, then takes off the ground and flies across the hall to take on another group, lasso slashing out across the table cloth laid floor too entangle the froggy legs charging towards her, tumbling the charging group like ninepins.

Gar Logan has posed:
"Oh, please. Don't waste the effort," Gar calls down as his wings, green like the rest of his body, go from fanning out to tucking in. "Kian, it would be more than okay to zap these frogs and make them take a nap! As for these clocks..."

He passes Madison and says, "I think you've got the right idea. Hey, Thumper! Nobody can turn back time or stop it! Not even Cher! So, we're gonna prove to you it's April!" As an aside mostly to himself, "If only Terry's cousin was here."

Anyhow, he passes those clocks and allows time to resume, yanking out those knives before casting them aside, and he catches sight of Vorpal out of the corner of an eye. Rabbit Hole, scepter, a celebratory shout, and...

"Wait. What just happened? Did he just..go poof?" There is a pale look to his face at this, eyes widening. Not a welcome distraction at all.

Emiko Queen has posed:
With Terry and the scepter disappearing, Emiko has a moment of internal freaking out before she compartmentalizes and pushes forward. She reaches for another arrow, nocking it and sending it flying towards one of the archer frogs, the strange tip on the end popping open on impact to rease a weighted net to tangle the frog and send it crashing to the floor.

Already on the move, she rushes forward, dropping into a slide with her bow held out behind her, using the arms of the bow to sweep the legs out from under two more of the archers. Setting a foot to halt her moementum, she flips backwards towards the fallen frogs, landing in a crouch and slamming her fist into into one frog's face right between its giant eyes. Her back foot lashes out with a kick to the second frog's lower jaw.

Spinning up to her knees, she's already reaching for another arrow while scanning for a target.

Kian has posed:
"Already on it!" Kian yells back to Gar as he introduces the nearest archers to a good, stiff jolt of electricity.  Archers, he doesn't have an issue with -- he remembers the ones from Tartarus.  These, however, don't explode.
But then, none of them have managed to hit his wing yet, and he doesn't propose to let that happen.
He turns to look for the next archers that need to be taken care of and only just catches Terry grabbing the scepter -- and disappearing.  "Oh Gods -- *Terry*!"  If Gar is still Garkiar, he'll 'hear' a sharp {/!/}, as will any other telepaths.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
The huge Nadia masquerading as Mary-Ann turns for a moment like she is going to return to the other room and carry out the Hare's request for knives. She plays along just long enough for him to look away, then moving with surprising alacrity spins back around again.

Swatting the guards about like toys with one hand, her other reaches for the crown. Terry has already taken the scepter, so of course the scepter is the next target. Making contact with the crown though, she freezes and her eyes go wide. The massive titan staggers and stumbles and then much to the dismay of those below her begins to fall, though she manages to catch herself on one knee, eyes absolutely wild darting this way and that.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
The battle doesn't last too long, but even if it had prolonged itself, the Titans would have surely won. As Madison and Gar pull the knives out, the clocks hands start spinning faster and fast until they are but a blur, as if trying to catch up on missing time. The Hare lets out a cry of despair watching this, and seeing how his subjects are easily overpowered by the Titans. Kian and Gar, in their surprise, might have gotten injured by arrows... were it not for Donna and Emiko's tactical acumen in targeting the archers, who were already diminished in number thanks to Kian's bolts.

"No! This is not happening, I /deem/ it not to happen!" The Hare clutches his hands on the edges of the crown and purple light spills forth from it, knives magically appearing in midair to nail back the spinning clock-hands-

Until Nadia makes contact.

Ping!

The Hare's eyes grow wide once more. Nadia is not able to remove the crown- the means by which that particular item can be removed are not merely physical- but something happens that connects the two minds, even for a moment. As Nadia takes a quick trip into the Wondersphere, the Hare's facial expression acquires a remarkable degree of serenity and sobriety.

"Ah, yes," he says calmly in Donna's direction, "Your hypothesis has merit. Of course it would make sense, wouldn't it? Can't exactly hold back the ocean. Different realms, different rules and all that..." He claps his hands and yells, "Enough, boys! They are making sense, their argument is unassailable!"

All at once, whatever forces remained in fighting condition stop dead on their tracks and put their weapons down. There aren't many at all, after that swat from Nadia. And while Nadia has been Wonderlanded, the March Hare has been Nadia'd. At least for now. "I am sorry, I simply don't know what came over me- this is not a proper way to start a tea party. At. All..." he slowly takes the crown off of his head. The moment he does so, everything around them begins to look decidedly less /real/. And Nadia's gigantism seems to be cured as the magic of Wonderland leaves her, leaving her greatly reduced in size.

A bright purple flash illuminates the room, and Vorpal appears, landing on his feet, the scepter clutched in his right hand. He doesn't quite look like his usual self, glowing as if he had some internal light of his own. "Harland, enough of this!"

The Hare turns around and stares at Terry, his eyes flashing with recognition, "... you!"

"Hand it over, now."

The Hare reaches out to Vorpal, giving the crown to the Cheshire Cat, who then looks to his friends. "Sorry. The Scepter is... a bit much to handle. I'm still having a hard time staying /here/."

But as the world around them begins to fade, the Cat's expression darkens, "Although staying here isn't a good idea right now. I don't trust myself to put the crown on just yet, but without someone wearing it, this whole pocket reality is going to collapse! I'm... going to try something. Hold on!"

With the crown in one hand, and with the scepter in the other, the Cheshire cat raises his hands to the ceiling and something happens. Like a warp in reality, as if distance all of a sudden meant nothing at all and the farthest world in the multiversal cartography were merely one fold of the paper away, superimposing two points of space together and discarding all of the intervening inconveniences. A wrenching feeling like being aboard the world's most reckless rollercoaster while sitting next to the kind of person who just /loves/ to narrate the experience in a pitch that could cut glass.

And then it's over.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
The Titans, the Hare, Alice and Vorpal are standing on the green grass of the small park at MIT, and the well disappears, imploding into itself without a sound. Nick and Caitlin are also there- the Phantasm having detoured from going to the Throne Room in order to search for the missing red-haired Titan who had fallen through a trapdoor and had her own curioser and curioser adventures of her own, which -unbeknownst to the others- had provided some aid in guiding the fate of the two teams- but that is another story, to be told at another time.

The Cheshire cat blinks a couple of times. He had seen everything that had gone on from the moment he had grabbed the scepter. He had been... well, everywhere. Sort of. He wanted to point out, from that place of greater perspective, how each member of the team had contributed to a chain of events that resulted in this outcome, working together like a well-oiled machine... or, as the Hatter might put it, a well-buttered clock. He wanted to say that now that the Regalia was safe, Metropolis was. But that Wonderland wasn't. He wanted to say so many things.

Instead, he opens his mouth and says "... everywhere is much so wow..."

And then his grip on the scepter falters, as does his grip on the crown. Both items tumble to the ground and then, a second later, so does Vorpal, knocked out.

Alice stares for a few more seconds, and then pipes up.

"So, about that ride to Gotham..."

Madison Evans has posed:
"NO FAIR THAT'S CHEATING!" Madison exclaims, as knives reappear, and start pinging back into place on the clocks. She begins plucking them out again - ducking low to avoid one of the frogs, and sweeping his legs out from under him with what is clearly a well-rehearsed move.
Moments later, though, everything is calmer, and she backs towards Donna, stage whispering a loud, "We're good now. Right?"
And then, abruptly, they're on the lawn - with Maddie still clutching her 'souvenir teapot,' and the normal world all around them. "Wow. Okay. This has been //fun//!" she exclaims brightly.
    ...just before the cat collapses.
"...Uh-oh. What do we do? Should I call for an ambulance? Do, umm, Titans call for ambulances?" she asks anxiously.

Donna Troy has posed:
Caitlin goes over to check that Terry is alright, but she doesn't seem to worried -- Terry faints a lot, it's normal for him. After determining that he is not in any serious danger she calls back to the tower to arrange a pickup by T-Jet. It's a lot faster than Uber.

Donna gives Alice a long hard stare before saying "You're getting a ride to Gotham with one of the Robins. /Which/ Robin you get depends on how well you behave until then. Think about it."

She gives Madison an encouraging smile and nods her head. "We're good now. Well done in there Maddie, you were a great help," she says, then walks over to join Caitlin at Vorpal's side. She tilts her head and Caitlin replies with a nod. These two have known each other far too long for words to be required in a situation like this. No doubt Terry will be sleeping for a day, but he'll be fine.

Donna crouches down and retrieves the crown and scepter, which briefly glow purple in her hands. "Well done everyone," she says with a grin, turning to the assembled Titans and friends. "Hopefully this means Metropolis is going to be back to baseline crazy for a while. We better get these things into storage until we can figure out what to do with them. I suppose returning them to Wonderland would be the best idea, but we've got to figure out how that's going to work. "

She puffs out her cheeks and grins wide. "In the meantime, who's for victory pizza?"

Kian has posed:
Kian's first priority is Terry /tenar'h/, when he reappears and is weirder than usual even by his standards.  It's not unlike the exhaustion that comes over Terry after opening a Rabbit Hole to his homeworld, or getting healed by Phoebe, and he braces his mind for a certain amount of scrambled catbrain as he drops to a landing alongside his friend.
And tries to help him up.
This is not Terry on exhaustion, or Terry on divine healing power, or Terry on Wonder Woman's lasso.
This is raw, uncut and unfiltered Wonderland, and no amount of mental bracing can have prepared the birdman for that.
Kian makes a tiny squeaking noise.  That blue aura he sometimes gets flashes out -- except that this time it's purple rather than blue -- and he very slowly, very quietly collapses across Terry's body, just as inert.
That was well intentioned, certainly... but still not a good idea.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Even after Wonderland's magic leaves her Nadia is still a good 70' tall as she had been when she had attempted to pass herself off as a pixie to another being of similar gigantic proportions before the magic thrust her into the role of 'Mary Ann'. "Yes, yes tea and knives, very sharp flavor. Who wants tea?" She totters about with the teapot, gradually reducing in size further as she does, almost by reflex returning to her natural size via the Pym Particles in her blood stream.

"Were we successful? Did we win by a Hare's breath?" It's almost like she is drunk, which is perhaps not the best combination when she has a hot pot of tea in one hand, water sloshing here and there. And then when everything shifts back to the field, she just kind of falls backwards on to her behind with a thump, teapot impacting the ground next to her as she looks around with a dazed expression on her face. "I can see it, a chaos beyond chaos. Real chaos..." But apparently she can't really put it into words.
