Cast of Characters: Oliver Queen, Emiko Queen

Oliver Queen has posed:
Green Arrow stands with one foot on the ledge atop the roof of a building, overlooking the most dangerous neighborhood in his immediate domain. He has his bow in hand and a quiver on his back, his hood pulled up a bit to cast his face in shadows, a domino mask across his eyes and brow to keep his identity intact.

"The Red Razors are trying to take more of the northern territory," he says, referring to local street gangs. "The Lasercats can't hold it for too long. They're undermanned since we busted up their trafficking scheme last month. The Cats are having a barbecue tonight, celebrating their captain getting out of lock-up. That's where the Razors will strike," he says.

"So, for now, we wait. How are things going with you?"

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Well, the names are getting better, at least. Remember when we went after the 'Pork Belly Gang' last year? That was sad, really sad." Emiko shakes her head as she leans forward a little, resting an arm on her knee. Her original costume has been upgraded to black with red samurai-style armoring across her midsection, dotted here and there, the red hood up and domino mask in place.

Straightening back up, she idly twirls an arrow around her fingers as glances his way, "So we're only going after the Razors, then? Unless of course we can find evidence of illegal substances at the party." Its a gang, there's going to be illegal substances at the party. Oddly, this makes her happy.

"Weeeeeeeell... I did meet Batman, that was cool. Oh, and the red-haired Flash. And Aquaman. That was interesting. The Titans just busted up some WOnderland weirdness, I got to be part of that. I had an actual tea party with the actual Mad Hatter. Surreal, but -very- cool." Emi pauses for a moment, then grins, "Oh! And I rescued a pair of cats from the local shelter. And things are still going awesome with Bart."

Oliver Queen has posed:
Oliver Queen shakes his head, "Razors will be the aggressors, looking to kill. Any of the cats get too out of line, they're fair game, but I'm not going to take an issue with self-defense," he says.

"A tea party, huh? Not really my taste, but as long as you had fun," he grins. "Glad to hear the kid is treating you right. Let me know if he isn't," he says.

"Things are going well enough. Hella and I had a little run-in with the Russian mafia on a date last week, but that was handled pretty easily. I think they might regret getting her attention, she's a little more potent than what they're used to dealing with. And I've been thinking about some things," he says.

"I'm getting tired of wearing a mask. Not the work. Just the playing pretend all the time. The lying. How do you feel?"

Emiko Queen has posed:
"Alright." Emiko looks over the edge of the rooftop, "Who would have thought we'd be protecting gangs from each other, huh?" She flashes a quick grin at him, "Then again, we've always worked a little differently from the rest. I blame the weird family dynamic all our parents put into place. They set a terrible example."

She smiles at the memory of the tea party, "I like the Lewis Carroll stuff. It's just so blatantly fantastical and obviously made-up that coming face to face with it is like... a break from reality. Where you not only have -permission- to be silly and outlandish, its -expected-." Looking Ollie's way, she chuckles, "I honestly think he would hurt himself before he'd hurt me. I don't know -what- he sees in me but I'm not going to complain."

She chuckles lowly at mention of the Russian mafia going after his girlfriend, "So you had a perfectly normal date, for us, then? I can't remember the last time we were able to do something without SOME villain or another showing up. It's like they have a sixth sense for ruining a good date."

That last bit has her glancing over at him, "You thinking of goin public, brother?" Pausing, she frowns faintly, "You know if I do that, the Ousiders (the bad guys not the teen team), the Ninth Circle... they'll come here."

Oliver Queen has posed:
Oliver Queen frowns, "I know," he says. "Not that I'm afraid. We could handle anyone and anything that came after us. I really believe that. Doesn't mean it's worth the collateral damage in the process," he says.

"I think just, the more I get older, the more I want to love honestly, cleanly. Walking around pretending to be just a dumb rich boy gets old and the more I let my real self show when I'm not wearing the mask, the easier it'll be for someone to figure it out. I just want to be able to do it on our own terms, not get outted by some bad guy with an agenda," he says.

"I don't know. Just something I've been contemplating."

"And I've been in a few silly spots myself. Don't forget, I own a boxing glove arrow."

Emiko Queen has posed:
"I know you're not. I'm not either. But we've both got a lot of really nasty enemies that would -love- to hit us in every soft spot we have. And that's not even getting into the people like Slade..." Emiko lets out a breath and stares off into the middle distance for a long moment.

Shifting slightly, she looks back to Oliver and smiles faintly, "No, I understand. That's why I brought Bart to meet you so quickly, and encouraged the sharing of identities. I didn't want to have to tiptoe around it with him. For him OR for us." She runs her tongue over her teeth, "I don't know if I can do that yet. I'd have to talk to Bart because once -I- came out, that would affect him too. And possibly anyone else that I'm associated with."

Leaning in, she nudges him lightly and smiles, "But I support you if you want to. Also, I didn't get to use the boxing glove arrow this time, but I've been keeping it on hand, just in case."

Oliver Queen has posed:
Oliver Queen considers, "I'm not sure we have a lot of soft spots left. But I take your meaning. I'm not pulling the trigger on anything, but I figured it would be fair to let you know it was on my mind," he says.

"I'll go ahead and let you know I've told Hella my identity. Probably not hard for her to connect the dots, although I don't know how familiar she is with costumed crimefighters as a whole - she grew up in an entirely different culture, after all, and isn't one to watch much in the way of the news," he says.

"I appreciate that you have my back. Also, we have activity," he says. Off at one end of the street, a small caravan of three vehicles is clustered close together. "Reeks of a drive by."

Emiko Queen has posed:
"I can't really think of anything off hand, but then, my sordid past is already out there for people who know where to look. And there's a lot of people that know where to look. It could mean facing deportation, though." Emiko glances to Oliver and offers a half smile, "Being that all my documentation is very very fake and there's no real record of my existence." Assassins, always behind on filing for things like a birth certificate or social security number.

Nodding, Emiko chuckles, "Kinda figured, and that's fine. She seems pretty out and proud, I don't imagine that she'll have any issue with my being one of the costumes."

Taking a moment to give him a very quick but tight hug, she puts her game face on, drawing an arrow from the quiver and murmurs, "Take out the tires, then go collect the guys?"

Oliver Queen has posed:
Oliver Queen smiles, all business now. "Yup. Take 'em down before they start shooting," he says. Luckily, one of the benefits of being a vigilante is you can act on suspicion and don't need any of that pesky probably cause. Like waiting for someone to start shooting automatic weapons at a neighborhood gathering.

He lets loose one of his arrows, letting it sing through the air straight and trou and driving into a tire on the front vehicle. Another follow-up area hits the rear tire in rapid succession and he puts a third through the hood, punching through the metal and driving right into the engine block to kill the car dead.

He fires a cable arrow and hooks on his bow, using it as a zipline as he speeds down towards the broken down vehicle, relying on his sister to take out the two follow-up vehicles.

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko's first arrow is the only one she needs for the cars, a short-range EMP arrow hitting the roof of the middle car and sending out a pulse that kills the electronics in the cars... and also in the gang's phones, meaning no calling in for backup! Hopefully none of them wear pacemakers!

Diving off the building, she sends out two arrows in rapid succession, the first a strangely tipped arrow that shatters on impact with the ground and leaves a large 'oil slick' area that will make exiting the car an interesting adventure for the Razors.

The second is a gapplehook arrow that attaches to a street lamp, letting her swing around right into the middle of the action!

Oliver Queen has posed:
Ollie releases about fifteen feet above ground, landing on the roof of the lead car and smashing out the windows on either side as the would-be killers try to scramble out of the ruined vehicle. One lifts his gun to try to take Green Arrow out, only to have a foam arrow go right down the barrel of the gun, smothering it and him in paralyzing goo.

"Get your people inside," Green Arrow shouts to the targets of the drive by, some of the people at the barbecue scrambling to get kids and cheeseburgers alike inside. A few of them start to go for their own weapons, which will make things complicated if it goes too far.

"Take 'em out fast before this turns into a firefight," he calls out to Red Arrow, even as he takes down a second one with a blunt tipped arrow to the nose, hitting him with the equivalent of a knock-out punch.

Emiko Queen has posed:
Landing neatly on the ground, Emiko immediately turns and aims an arrow between the front and back doors of one of the middle cars, releasing a quick drying polymer that prevents the doors from opening, trapping the gang members inside temporarily.

Rushing forward, she leaps, kicking into the chest of one of the gang members, riding him to the ground even as she sends out a bolas arrow to tangle up one of his buddies. Rolling off the man after the fall knocks him out, she sweeps the legs out from under a third and zipties his hands quickly before vaulting the trunk of the third car to land on the other side while one of the Razors sends a few bullets pinging into the car.

"Working on it!" She waits for the pause between clips, then pops up to send a net arrow center mass to drop the ganger.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Oliver Queen slides off the car and catches the wrist of another, twisting hard and snapping it before knocking the guy's head into the side of the car, knocking him out. He draws another arrow and fires down the line, wrapping another one of them in cable as he watches Emiko work, grinning as the two of them manage to take down half of a street gang on their own.

He sees some of the Lasercats coming out of their houses with guns and he fires and arrow into the sidewalk, splitting the concrete and letting a firework off into the air, "Back off and let us handle it or you'll be joining them in lock-up."

Emiko Queen has posed:
The doors of the car behind her open up and Emiko dives, sliding beneath the opened doors to shoot a smokebomb into the car. While the gangers choke and cough and pile out of the car, she's there, using feet and fists and bow to dance around them, knocking them down or knocking them out and making sure to cuff, tie, or otherwise immobilize them as she goes.

She glances over briefly when Ollie is shouting at the Lazercats to back off, grinning. At least until she sees the Razor member aiming a .45 at his back. "OLLIE!"

Even as she's calling out, she sends an arrow into the man's wrist, forcing him to drop the gun even as she dives at the man, tackling him to the ground, the bow pressed against his throat, "BIG mistake, asshole." She punches him, hard and fast, right int he face, and keeps punching him, until either Oliver pulls her off him or until another of the gang approaches.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Oliver Queen moves rapidly, drawing his arrows one after the other as he puts down the last members of the Razors, using the sharp and pointies this time to leave them bleeding on the ground before he finally gets Emiko to stop. After she's made an impression, of course.

"As of now, both gangs are on notice. There won't be a gang war in the Narrows. Not now. Not ever. Anything like this busts out again and I'm going to go to your hideouts and rip all of you out into the streets in your underwear and let you get arrested on TV for your grandmothers to see."

"If you have a problem with any of that...tough."

Emiko Queen has posed:
Pulled off the ganger, Emiko gets in a last swift kick to the poor bastard, then straightens up and glares at anyone still standing/conscious. "And he won't be alone. Anyone that wants to get -cute- and ignore his warning? I'll be right behind him, and I'm fine with sending people to the hospital before the cops come to collect what's left."

Big words for the short, trim girl in the hood... but she DID just permanently impair and beat a man bloody for pointing a gun at Green Arrow. She looks to Ollie and murmurs, "Sushi?" Keeping it out of earshot of the gang members littered around.

Oliver Queen has posed:
There are a few nods and muttered imprecations in response, but the assembled remainder seems to back off. The sound of sirens in the distance means it's time for the vigilantes to depart. "By the way, you're welcome," Green Arrow says at last as he fires off a cable arrow.

"I dunno, I'm kind of feelin' Thai. I want something spicy," he says as the two heroes head back to the rooftops.
