Cast of Characters: Veira Lazarescu, Jan de Wit

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira had given a call to Jan during the day, letting him know that they were going to be taking a trip that evening if he was available. It wasn't a very far drive, but it was an exciting one. "I found someone that was willing to take on the project for your armor." she smiles to him as she parked the car in the little parking lot that was outside an old school brick building.

The old billboard on the side of the building identified it as a former seamstress shop, but those days were long gone mainly given the big money busienss of mass production.

"It means that you'll get it tailored to you and we won't be worrying about after market ill fitting armor pieces. That and I trust them." she smiles. "Though whether you want to go in with your face hidden or not is up to you. I respect either decision." she explains as she looks across to him. Waiting to see what he says.

It was a bit of a surprise after all.

Jan de Wit has posed:
After practicing all day, he was all too happy to meet up with her in the evening. Eagerly agreeing to see her, he smiles as she explains having found an armorer. "Friend from the agency, or is this a Craig's list thing?" He teases, with a smile. There's a look to the building, then back to her.

A smile as he notices the seamstress sign. "Handmade is almost always better." He admits. "I try to get as many tailored pieces as I can."

He watches her, hrming. "Do you wear a mask when dealing with them? What are your thoughts on this?" He asks, seriosuly curious. "I'm a known perfomer... having someone know who I am might be a bad choice. Aside from you, that is." He grins.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira gives him a bit of a chuckle, "I would never take you to something I found on Craig's List, Jan. Good heavens." she tells him as she reaches over to give him a poke. "It's a friend of a friend that I trust. They made my mask for me a long time ago." she tells him. "The place looks rough, but inside is nice. I've been here a few times." she admits to him.

"And I agree, handmade is much better." she grins. She gives a shake of her head, "I don't as they've known me...but I don't really get out as much as I used to." she states.

"For you...I think it would be better to keep the identity hidden. If someone figures out a rich, handsome dancer is out here bludgeoning people they will know where to find you very easily." she tells him. She leans forward then, opening the glove box to pull out something and offers it to him, "I don't think you brought your own ski mask." she gives a soft smile to him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
Taking the mask, he chuckles. "No, I did not." He comments, leaning in to sneak a quick kiss. "Ever prepared, hrm?" He comments, as he dons the mask. "I suppose some creative accounting will need to happen to get the crafter their funds, too. Credit cards would give me away."

"I'm not worried about the rough exterior - I've been plenty of places where the outside is purposefully shoddy." Jan explains, nodding to her. "If you trust them, then I shall too."

"Shall we?" He asks, sliding out of the car and moving over to her side to stand near. No PDA - secrets and all!

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira accepts the kiss with a grin, "I have to be in my line of work. Never know when someone is going to start something and you need to hide your face." she admits. "The payment has already been taken care of. Another string that doesn't need to be connected to you." she tells him. "I hope you don't mind. They were in need of specifics and I offered to get it in exchange." she smiles to that.

She then moves to get out of the car, closing it and then locking it after he is out. "They will be happy to see more business." she nods to that.

She waits for him to join her and then nods to him, "We shall. Just watch your step, the elevator is a bit old." she chuckles as she leads him through the side door and down a hall to the service elevator. She heads in and waits for him before pressing the button for the basement.

The elevator gives a rickety shudder before starting to lower.

Jan de Wit has posed:
"I am sure you have countermeasures should I become mind controlled or replaced with an alien duplicate." Jan teases. "Weirder things have been known to happen." He walks along with her, looking for all intents like they are simply accomplices - not dating. "And I appreciate the arrangements. I will have to return the favor." He comments, even as they step in.

He keeps an eye out, studying the surroundings as they enter - noting the details in case the worst might happen. Not that he's getting any visions, just being cautious. The groan of the elevator has him looking up to the ceiling. "Hopefully it's not too far down..." He chuckels.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"I have them if you're mind controlled, my heart hurts just thiking about you being replaced." she admits quietly. "But we can come up with some." she teases him back. "Truer words have never been spoken." she chuckles. "Of course. I wanted to make sure we got it taken care of...and I can't obscond with SHIELD materials without authorization." she muses.

The elevator goes one floor down and then settles, the doors opening to show a very rich looking tailoring shop, like one might find in the olden days. Maybe someone misplaced their old one?

There is an older Italian gentlemen with white hair that looks up from the suit he is pinning together, "Ah, Miss Lazarescu. Please, come in, I trust you brought the payment?" he asks as he observes her. Then his soft brown gaze moves to Jan, looking him up and down, giving a soft hmmm. "Where have you been hiding this one?" he asks Veira as he approaches them, giving her a little swat on the arm. "I'm Vinny and I'll be needing your measurements. I'm guessing you've at least had tailoring done before?" he asks Jan.

Veira moves to pull something from her coat and settles the little box on the table while the two men talk.

Jan de Wit has posed:
"I shall endeavor to remain unabsconded with." He assures her, nodding as the elevator comes to rest. "And no swiping from employers - that would likely turn into a rather large kerfluffle." He says, holding the door so she can step out first. Polite!

Jan smiles behind the skimask, appreciative of the layout of the shop. "Quite nice." He murmurs, eyes going to the fabrics and tools of the trade. Everything looked in top shape, a sign of pride in their work. That was genuinely a good sign to the Dutchman.

Jan offers a nod to the other man. "Generally for more formal attire, but yes." He explains, meeting his gaze without concern or fear. "Pleasure to meet you Vinny. For today, I'll just go by Dancer." A smile. "Anonymity and all." As the two talk over the payment, Jan steps away to allow them privacy.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"Please do." Veira gives a smile to him. She was rather reserved when they were in public, but there were times when she let that control slip to enjoy things. She watches from where she is at near the table and there's a smile, "He doesn't need to look like Batman, so no capes." she tells Vinny as she points him to the box. "I don't know why you wanted it, but you can probably make some wonderful metal buttons or other things." she tells the tailor.

Vinny gives her a pat on the shoulder, "There is wine and things in the fridge if you'd like to take a load off. He's in good hands." he tells the Romanian woman. She gives a look to Jan, then back to Vinny, "Don't poke him too much." she muses as she goes to collect a drink and then find a seat where she can watch.

Vinny motions for Jan to follow him, "I'm guessing you want the lightest material possible, but what about cut and things, Dancer?" he asks the man in the mask.

Jan de Wit has posed:
Once the details of their exchange have been made, Jan looks back over. He'd been eying the silks - ever the man of style. "Indeed, no capes." He chuckles. "I fear I'd get bound up in them, truth be told."

A slight smile to Viera, though it's not hard for onlookers to tell he's quite fond of her. "I am sure that poking isn't on the agenda." A grin, before he looks then to Vinny. "Some protection is certainly warranted - but light, mobile. I tend to be more acrobatic in action, as opposed to lumbering. I'd rather avoid too much restriction of motion."

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira easily finds a water and then heads back to find a seat so that she can watch the goings on. She gives a grin, "The last thing you need is to get caught up in the fabric or hang yourself over a cable line." she shakes her head.

Vinny listens as he has Jan stand on one of the risers in front of the mirror, "We do make regular suits if you're interested in one, but...to the business at hand!" the man claps his hands and produces a sewing tape measurer, taking a measure of Jan's shoulders as the man talks. "We can get you rifle rated armor that is still very light compared to most bullet proof. Rifle rated is the highest for use and I suggest it given the state of the world at the moment." the Tailor states.

"Are you wanting to stick to black for the main color of the armor or wanting to have something that makes you stand out, sir?" he asks him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
"Indeed. That would be quite embarrassing." Jan agrees with Veira, smirking just a touch. "I don't think they have a Triple-A service for heroes hung from an electrical wire." A tsking sound. He moves to the riser, quite familiar with fittings.

As he listens, he studies the mirror - trying to envision a look for, perhaps a color. "Do you happen to work with a proper cobbler, as well? I imagine boots to match the outfit would be warranted. And quite right on the state of the world and need for more robust protection these days. Too many gun-toting problems out there." His arms move as needed, allowing Vinny to capture all the data. "I'll have to look you up for more every-day suits as well - I do love a fitted wardrobe."

He glances towards Veira, grinning. "I do tend to favor royal blues and purples."

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira gives a soft smile to Jan's smirk, "I'd get a call saying some vigilante was caught in a tangle of wires." she muses to that. She takes out her phone and looks at the Wordle for the day. Giving a bit of a frown to it when she misses it on the first try.

Vinny is a professional and quick with the measurements. "I actually do make boots to go along with the armor, yes. Figured the proper footwear is the best finish to the outfit." he chuckles at that. "And yes, a lot of guns...rifles, alien technology. I can't armor against that though at the moment." he admits. "So the good Lady will have to keep you out of that sort of trouble." he tells Jan.

"I can do fitted and my family has been doing this for a long time." he offers. There is a look to Veira, "So, acrobatic, sleek and primarily black with some blues or purples..." he ponders that. "I think I have a vision for it." he nods to this as he steps back. "Is there a timeline for this?" he asks the two of them.

Jan de Wit has posed:
A happy chuckle at that. "I need to avoid ending up on the police and other agency blotters, thank you very much." Jan shakes his head. His eyes go back to the mirror, relaxed in the fitting. It's kind of a happy zen place for him, truth be told. Having someone fussing over his measurements and the general calm ASMR of the process.

"Excellent, then the whole setup will be perfect, I am sure." A slight grin to Vinny. "I suppose it is a point of pride to have everything fitted and matched, just so, as an artist."

Once the measuring is done, he steps down from the dias. "I have no rush - I'd rather have you take your time for the betterment of look, fit and protection." He grins.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"Marioooooo!" Veira sing songs from her chair as a big black cat wanders out of one of the side rooms and heads for the raven haired woman with a 'mew!'. It's a big cat. "You're not the kitten you once were, look at this majestic beast." she whispers as she stands and moves to pet the cat with a bit of vigor. "He is doing very well. I'm glad that you two got along so well." she grins to Vinny.

Then she is watching Jan get all measured and his kit getting situated. "One more question." Vinny states to Jan after he steps down and he's jotting down measurements. "Do you carry any weapons? If so I can adjust for making sure that they fit properly. For example I know Miss Lazarescu carries a ridiculous amount of knives on her. If you do as well I can make hidden sheathes in the armor for them so that they are easier to carry and far less bulky that some Russians training." he gives a bit of a sniff at Veira over that.

"I can have this done in a few weeks. I think this is exciting. Most people never get this far in crime fighting." he admits to Jan. "Or they go out in hockey pads." he sighs.

Jan de Wit has posed:
The call of Mario has Jan looking over to Veira. A wide smile at the sight of the robust cat. "Quite the beauty, he is." He offers over, grinning as he looks back to Vinny. "I am sure he is quite the helper around with the scraps of fabric and thread."

A the question regarding sheath and such, he hrms. "Holsters or frogs for baton clubs." He decides after a moment. "I don't often use them, but I'd rather that than knives for my martial arts." He nods. "I have worked with a pair in tandem, one for each hand." He motions to either side of his hips.

A laugh at the mention of hockey pads. "That... would be less than optimal." He grins to Vinny. "And we'll see. I generally stick to helping neighborhoods with thugs."
