Cast of Characters: Piotr Rasputin, Lorna Dane

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr is seated in one of the lounge chairs upon the back balcony of the school which over looks the rear lawn and the patio area. He wears black shorts, black sunglasses, and flip flops. Nothing more. To his left is an oversized 66oz plastic cup filled with some clear soda and vodka - with a straw. The sun is high in the sky and no shadows are cast in his general area. The sunlight glints off of his metallic skin and refracts the light in all directions. He seems comfortable, content, and relaxed as if there is nothing he could want. He peers across the back lawn and the patio area for activity, as if he's seeking something to catch his silvery eyes or to entertain his lackadaisical moment.

Lorna Dane has posed:
A shadow flits over the perfectly sunny rooftop where Piotr currently reclines enjoying himself. It's all that heralds the descent of Lorna as she flies in to land daintily on her feet. While it was a pleasantly warm spring day she was still opting to wear pants, and boots, as well as a blouse that ties at her waist. It was on the fancy-but-comfortable side of things since she never knew where she might have to rush off to at any particular moment.

No sooner does she land than she's smiling at the familiar figure that greets her sight. "Why hello, Piotr, you're practically glowing," she offers in a friendly, joking manner.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
His eyes are caught by the descending woman of green hair and amazing grace. A smile crosses his metallic lips, they part and he begins to stand. He exclaims in his accented voice, "Lorna; such good fortune to lay eyes upon you. Had you come earlier, it would be because of you that I glow."

His 7'7" monolithic frame stands from the reinforced chair and he turns to face her direction. His arms are open, yet not wide, in case she opts not to close on him, or if she chooses to do such, he is amicable to either.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna Dane finds herself chuckling at his reply while stepping in closer to accept the offered hug without any hesitance. Given his far larger height she tucks in close to return the hug gingerly. There was no sense in attempting to squeeze him too hard while he was in this form, after all. "It's good to see you again, Piotr. I'd been wanting to thank you for your help with the refugees. It's been so hectic lately, but it's good to know I've friends to turn to for help when needed."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
He embraces her, gives a hearty squeeze yet does not crush her rib cage. His temperature is warm, sun-warmed metal. And like always, he's not metallic hard, he doesn't clang or tink when struck. He is just very dense/strong feeling, much more so when he contracts musculature. His flexibility must be maintained when in this form and rigid metal wouldn't work.

Her words come as he releases the embrace and he continues to look down upon her. "It was nothing. Those people needed help. I had help to give. And my duty to fellow mutant. I am also pleased that many stayed on in Genosha instead of returning to a land that does not appreciate or even like them."

Lorna Dane has posed:
After the flight, which was just a tad cold due to winds, the feel of his warmed metallic skin was rather pleasant. Even so she doesn't linger too long. Instead she steps back giving him his personal space once more to tip her head up toward him still smiling in spite of the topic of conversation. It was both a tiring situation, and one that was seeming to resolve itself at this point. "Yes, quite a few did. Others still opted to go to Atlantis as Namor and I had worked out a dual-citizenship effort not so long ago. Where ever they feel safest, though they're free to come and go to Genosha as they please."

"Still, thank you. I know it's not always easy to work alongside those we've had issues with in the past. I heard you worked with Mystique, and Exodus, quite a bit." A deep breath is drawn, and lets out slowly willing herself to relax more. This wasn't some diplomatic meeting. She could just relax here at the school with those she knew. "How have you been as well? I feel I don't check in enough with everyone lately."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
His silvery eyes widen when she mentions Atlantis, "Perhaps something was missed by my introduction to being a mutant and citizen of the world. Did you say, 'Atlantis' was accepting of mutant kind? I had no idea this was an option. That is place of which I envy those whom travel." Then he offers the requested response, "I have been well, and you have been missed." then he glances down to his drink, "Would you like drink? I get nothing from it." ( Which may bring up another point of memory with his history in Genosha. He never shifted to normal form. And when asked about it, he said that he was unable to shift back. )

Lorna Dane has posed:
"Ah, yes, Atlantis had opened their borders to those interested. Namor and I... We have a small bit of history together. Though that was awhile ago now. We've remained on good terms," Lorna explains with an amused grin creeping over her. It's the mention of the drink he offers which causes her to pause, and tip her head toward him again thoughtfully.

"Come to think of it, *are* you all right? I heard you haven't changed out of this form for awhile? Is everything all right?" Nosy perhaps but it was her job to be nosy. And aware of everything that she could. The offered drink however earns a small nod after a moment of consideration. "A drink would be nice, actually."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
There's a slight grin that crosses his lips when Lorna mentions a 'thing' with Namor in the past. He leaves it well enough alone. He doesn't want to know, nor is it any of his business. Though, when she segues to the discussion about his metallic form, he takes advantage of the drink option to turn and kneel down to the cooler next to his chair. Opening the cooler, she can hear his hrming sounds as he considers the subject about his form. Retrieving 7up and another plastic cup, he pours the soda into the glass about 3/4 full and then pulls the vodka from the cooler as he finally speaks. "Several months ago I encountered magical cavern. I was in metal form at time. I was walking through cavern and began choking on something. Which is odd - as I do not breathe in this form (except to speak which provides his voice with a metallic resonance). I woke up sometime later and discovered that I was unable to shift back to normal form. I also realized that I was in caves beneath Excalibur lighthouse. I had traveled from the Americas to Britain. It was quite disturbing. Since then, Hank has been unable to discover cause of being stuck in this form. So, I accept the condition and move on."

Lorna Dane has posed:
As the tale is told Lorna does pay rather rapt attention. Not just to his words, but to him, as she regards his form with a thoroughly searching gaze to see if there was anything that stood out such as damage, cracks, cuts or anything that might be an issue. The searching gaze only lasts until he mentions being unable to turn back after the cave.

"That sounds more like magic than anything. Perhaps Illyana would be able to offer help as well. Not that Hank isn't superb at what he does," she adds lest she be mistaken for insulting the good doctor. "Not that you're not in good shape while in this form, either, but I imagine it might be easier to relax if you had the option either way."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
There are no cracks, fractures, leaks, or anything seemingly out of place as seen by the green eyes by the mistress of magnetism. He stands again with the drink in hand and offers it over to her. It's 1/3rd vodka. He also gestures to the chair adjacent to his own. He intones, "Here you are." and then he states, "Illyana has been busy with so much of mystical arts. Including her /Strange/." - which could be construed in more than one way, yet he refers to Dr Strange.

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna Dane reaches to take the cup from him gingerly. Though it was mostly alcohol that didn't stop her from taking a sip of it as soon as she can. It's only after that she realizes the extent of the vodka. A small little cough is given though she bears it well. "That will most definitely help me relax," she admits with a quick laugh. Stepping to the chair she sinks down into it letting her legs stretch out in front of her. A little sigh breaks from her lips.

"Ah, I see. The last I had heard she and..." Quickly pausing she blinks rapidly. "I'm sorry. I'm sure you don't really wish to hear about your sister's ... connections. I do hope she's doing well though. It has been too long since I've seen her."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Seeing that Lorna is taking her seat, Piotr will do the same. He seems to relax a bit more in his seated posture. His plastic cup is brought to his lips and he takes a drink as Lorna goes on about things and then course corrects not to over share. He notes, "She is getting on quite well." Then he offers an alternative to discussing his sister, "How about you? You are here now, what brings you across vast oceans and swaths of land? What has coaxed you from your towers and spires?"

Lorna Dane has posed:
"Oh, goodness no. You know I didn't let them rebuild that atrocious thing, right?" Lorna laughs at the very image of herself in a tower, or castle, or anything even remotely similar to that. "It's more like an open Roman lecture hall these days. I want to be approachable when I have to look the part." Still amused, she shakes her head a bit. "I've been so focused on work lately I haven't taken any proper time to myself. I took on the responsibility of 'Queen' so I have no one to blame but myself. Still." Another sip of her cup is taken. The burn goes down a bit easier this time. "I need a break now and again. That's why I'm here. At least for a little bit."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
His eyes and expression take in her words, he nods to the understanding of the pressures that she is under and his lips even press together when she regards her role as Queen. His thoughtful gaze shifts and he looks down and to the right, his lips begin to curl upward and then he says after a brief humph, "Then we should have party. A welcome home celebration to our Lorna. The title of party should be, "Not a Queen. A Teammate Returned."

Lorna Dane has posed:
Lorna Dane contemplates the suggestion made for a few moments. Her head tips to the side to rest her chin in her hand, propped up on the arm of the chair by her elbow, in a far more relaxed posture. Already she was starting to feel the vodka do it's job just a tad. Even if it was all in her head. "That sounds lovely. Maybe something at Harry's, or even just out on the patio."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"That would be most excellent." states Piotr as he reflects upon the celebration that is to come. He bears a smile and his gaze turns toward the patio beyond the balcony railing.
