The donning of the Verdant greens
Date of Scene: 15 March 2022
Location: Verdant - Nightclub
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Felicity Smoak, Thea Queen, Slade Wilson

Felicity Smoak has posed:
Spring is springing in Starling. The sun is shining, the weather is warming, and things are looking green. Not grass green, not tree green, but St Patrick's Day green. Green paint in the middle of the roads, tags painted in green as a nod to the holiday (or it just looked better than black?), and shamrocks wherever one looked. Store windows, doors.. everywhere.

This sort of falls under 'other duties as assigned', Felicity being at the Verdant, to help set up for the 'big' holiday party. The alcohol has been delivered, the food is being put away by the kitchen staff, and she? The blonde IT girl has bags and bags.. and boxes and bags of decorations. All in the color, you guessed it.

Green.

Felicity isn't wearing green. A week before St Patrick's she's gotten tired of it, tired of the comments, the teasing, the fact that she is so FAR from being Irish, it's not even funny. She just knows enough not to wear ORANGE. She's dressed in pinks and browns today, with the bags.. and set as they are at the bar, she's pushing up on her glasses to look around, determining the best course of action. Thaaat would probably be something like: Hire someone to do it for them.

"I have absolutely zero idea of how we're going to actually get this place decorated before Thursday."

Thea Queen has posed:
Being a work supervisor is a hard job. Thea proves it by already being on her second coke of the day. Because a girl's got to keep herself refreshed. She is currently behind the counter, both elbows on it and she sipping out of a straw from her coke. And yes, making quite a bit of noise while doing such. She's dressed in a subtle green that is certainly not subtle during this time of the year. Yet someone's got to play the part!

"I knew there was a reason for me to have made this club green. Well, a sort of green..." At least in the name! She grins at Felicity when she says those last words, the cheshire smile on her lips telling that she has plans.

"Oh, I may have gotten extra help." she states, "... for those high places."

"Besides, still two days to go. Plenty of time still." She is clearly procrastinating.

Slade Wilson has posed:
"With help."

Slade's grizzly voicerings out next to her. When did he get there? Was he tailing her the whole time or was he just waiting? Unlike Felicity, Slade wasn't wearing a colorful attire. Rather, he wore dark jeans and a simple dark blue shirt. His eyepatch covered his missing eye, no fanfare or studs involved in them. Though Slade turns his attention to Thea and gives her a nod.

"Thea." He greets her. "Procrastination is a silent death. Early bird gets the worm." Slade doesn't speak as if he's giving orders, though he looks between the ladies. "What should be done first? What already has been done?" Slade is in full sitrep mode.

Honestly? He's just happy that Winter is finally goddamned over.

Felicity Smoak has posed:
"Slade?"

Felicity turns to the side to see the man sidle up, and she smiles, happy to see him. She turns her head to look at Ms Cheshire Cat, her lips pressing together in a smiled smirk. Taking a napkin, she rolls it up to toss at her. "Extra help. I see."

Still, it's so good to see him, and it lifts her mood more than a little bit. She can't resist a quick hug, coupled with a brief kiss before she's ready to go back to business. The business of decorating on such short notice. "Two days is nothing to decorate this place," is groused. "Come on. At least tape some shamrocks to the bar." With that, one of the bags filled with cardboard cut outs and shamrock garland is set onto the bar and poured out.

"You heard him. Procrastination is a silent death. So is being hard stared at at 3 o'clock in the morning while hanging more of these things."

Felicity takes another bag, also filled with the garland and sets it around her neck, "Time to start?"

Thea Queen has posed:
"Hey!" Thea says in complaint when the rolled-up napkin is tossed at her, "No respect for the boss of this place.." she mutters but the amusement is visible on her expression still, that little cheshire smile not having disappeared. Still, she finishes up her coke and sets it aside before nodding in greeting to Slade. "What a surprise to have you here today, Mr. Wilson."

It's not a surprise to Thea, obvious.

The kissing and hugging does make Thea briefly surprised but then there are hard cardboard cut outs being spread on the table and a whole lot of things and ... "But if I am the early bird then who's the worm?" she asks them both before getting a few of the cardboard things to go hang around the place. To Slade she says, "The ladder is over there." she points out. High places. Tall man. Ladder. A match made in heaven!

"Have you two been well?" She walks from behind the counter to begin hanging some of those decorations up.

Slade Wilson has posed:
The hug and kiss from Felicity is enthusiastically accepted by Slade, returning the kiss in particular with no small amount of warmth. "I can tell you missed me as much as I missed you." Slade teases Felicity with no small amount of humor touching his expression, though he turns his attention to Thea with a bit of a friendly smile. "Thea. Always a pleasure to see you." He informs.

Though he turns back to Felicity. "I'll deal with the Shamrocks." Because Slade is a soldier, not a interior decorator.

"Satisfaction.' Slade replies on what the worm is. "Late is late, in life and in work. Late often equates to failure." He tells her. Though directed to the ladder, he moves over to it and easily hefts it with one hand.

"Well enough." He answers bluntly and makes to set up the ladder.

Felicity Smoak has posed:
"Absolutely none. Zero," Felicity teases her friend, the quirky grins showing easily. "You won't throw me out until AFTER this place looks like leprechauns threw up all over it." And she does have the packs of green confetti.. so don't tempt her!

Pushing up her glasses again after the warmth in the kiss from Slade, she can't help but watch him as he moves the ladder. Brows rise, and she looks back at Thea, "You had him hired for the high places? I'm really..." and she nods, her lips pressed together, the amusement playing easily, "Impressed."

Now, however, is Felicity's turn to get a little decorating going, and the non-marking adhesives start to go up, the clovers sticking to each panel on the bar first. "I've been good. Work is the same. Put in my 9 hours, go.." and she casts a glance at Slade before she finishes, a little lamely, "put in my hours." To her knowledge, Slade hasn't been down in the Cave.. hasn't seen her amazing setup, even if he's seen her work her magic from home.

"Someone hasn't been home," Felicity offers in a theatrically raised voice. Where he has been, she doesn't know, and she's finding it easier if neither really asks the other too many questions. Unless, of course, it's needed.

"You," Felicity puts down the spare shamrocks and looks to her friend, elbow on the bar, "We need to do ice cream night."

Thea Queen has posed:
"Well, thank you for that..." Thea then comments, ".. Now all I will think about is leprechaun vomit during the festivities.." because Thea's got a rather vivid imagination. But then she is nodding at Felicity, "And it was sort of cheap too." she admits before stage-whispering, "I only had to mention you were around to help too."

What are friends for if not to embarass other friends?

Decorating the place really starts to show off Thea's nimbleness, because she is far from soft girl of years back, now hardened with training, both from her brother but also Slade. So those places hard to get. Just some stretching is needed! And those that are really high ...? "There's a spot here for you to help in, Mr. Wilson.."

And yes, her tone is quite amused when she says that. Because how often do you get Deathstroke to do club decoration? Hopefully he won't blow it up after...

"Ice cream night? Err..." she casts a look at Slade and then back to Felicity, "You do realize I will have extra workout the following day, right?" she lets out a sigh. The sacrifices she does for her friends. "Dibs on the chocolate icecream.."

Slade Wilson has posed:
Unless some heavily armed military personnel starts rummaging through this building? Slade is unlikely to blow anything up. But if Oliver makes an appearance at this club? No promises. Because one of them is GOING to start a fight, and how it ends is gonna be anybody's guess. He seems largely unaware ( or is he?) That Felicity is watching him. He climbs up the ladder and starts to get to work on a good string of decorations.

Her theatricality earns a little bit of a smirk. "I'm home now." He tells her, giving Felicity a certain kind of look. But it was more on the...flirty side? It's weird seeing it from him, potentially.

Though he overhears Thea's words that she'll have to do more on her workouts, Slade nods. "Agreed." Because she was NOT gonna be permitted to slack off!

Felicity Smoak has posed:
"You're very welcome." Felicity sounds so very, very pleased with herself. It's small revenge, but revenge all the same!

Deeper in the bags are little plastic green, 3-footed cauldrons, and they're pulled out. Then, the green and gold glitter to go in each one, set at each table, done so ably by Thea. Brows rise at the (not so much of a) confession as to how she managed to get Slade to come and work, and blue eyes travel back to Slade on the ladder. "Awww," is murmured.

Still, decorating is the thing, and she's back to work, setting up silly signs like 'Leprechaun crossing'. As she works, she's feeling chatty; he's home. Her friend is around, even if she's quiet. "You are," she says definitively. She does follow it up with a slightly more apologetic tone, the glasses pushed up again with the back of her hand. "I'm sorry I'm not very Irish, and I have no clue how to make corned beef and cabbage. So.. if you were invited out to a party, or.. something, don't worry about me?"

Slade Wilson has posed:
Slade finishes up some of the decorations while he's up on that ladder. As he descends, he turns his full attention to Felicity while she tries and gets some decorations done herself. Her 'aww' is met with a small smile as his feet finally get to touch the ground.

Though with Thea making her exit, Slade notices a wonderful opportunity. He begins to approach Felicity from her flank, and he lowers a hand to touch her shoulder if she so permits the contact.

"Felicity."

His voice soft, like a whisper on a good wind. "I'd love you if you were Irish or as American as American could be." Did he just?! But Slade chuckles a little bit. "I wouldn't worry about you. You're completely capable."

Felicity Smoak has posed:
Felicity is getting the little touches; the shamrocks on the doors to the restrooms, to the kitchen. There are little 'pull out' green decorations to put on other tables, larger ones on the speakers of the band dais. When Slade finally alights from his ladder, she's turning around and looking up, both watching his progress, and admiring the handiwork.

"How are you at changing lightbulbs?" She's teasing, of course, and as he approaches, she watches him with that brightened expression. The hand that rises to touch her shoulder is met with her own to rest lightly on top, should he not pull it away.

Awww, did he just?! "I'm just very.." She shakes her head, and her head tilts before she decides she's going to take the compliment. And.. the offrance of affection. It's just a turn of phrase, right? It's the way people talk.

"Then be prepared to try my corned beef. And have takeout on the speed dial."
