Cast of Characters: Alexis Carr, Samuel Guthrie

Alexis Carr has posed:
The hustle and bustle of New York City never ceases, it is truly a city that does not sleep.Along the throngs of people walking Chelsea this evening, there was music lifting into the air. Nestled between two art galleries, a violinist was plying her trade. She wore dark, thick leggings that outlined the muscles of her legs, and beat up sneakers. A sweater beneath a dark green jacket, and an orange lapland completed the look of someone trying to keep warm while still loving the street. The music, romantic interludes played on strings that calloused fingers knew as dearly as any lover, floats over the people, and the traffic alike.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie walks along the street hands in his pockets. The young man looks around the area and hearing the music he will stop and look around seeing the violinist and will head over to listen to the woman offering a nod as he listens.

Alexis Carr has posed:
The violinist doesn't seem to notice her audience. Her eyes are closed, her lips slightly cured a sshe alights on the music, transported perhaps elsewhere, above the color and art galleries and into a more perfect world.

But as the piece ends, her dark eyes open, and she lays eyes on Sam, and gives a slight smile as she gives a bow. A couple folks toss change into the little bucket at her feet, marked 'For the Good of All Kind.'

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will pull out his wallet, and pulls out a couple dollars, and leans down dropping it in the hat. He looks to the lady "Beautiful song, may I ask what it was?

Alexis Carr has posed:
"An arrangement of Puccini's Vissi d'Arte." the young woman replies, her accent crisp and British. She gives a smile to Sam. "A favorite around valentine's day. I can direct you to the playbook, if you would like?" she states, adjusting the tuning a moment as she regards the blond gentleman. "And thank you for the generous donation and compliment, good sir."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and says "I have known a few musicians but most of them don't do much classical. It is a very nice piece, and your welcome, wish it could be more, am curious thought for the Good of all kind? A charity I have not heard of, or helping you so we gat to hear your music?" He does not seem to be judging honestly just curious.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"I have known many musicians, and very few know they do perform classical pieces." she replies quietly, drawing her bow back to the strings.

"Well... if I put on 'for the place that houses mutants', less tend to donate." she replies wryly. "Alexis, by the way."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles a bit more at this and pulls his wallet out and drops another 5 into the donations. "Sam, and yea sadly some would do that or come along and mess with it or you just to be jerks."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"People come around and mess with street musicians regardless." she comments back to Sam, and takes a deep breath, looking at the bucket.

"So, what brings a country boy like you into the big city?" she inquires with curiosity.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles a bit "Ah from the south side obviously." He jokes a bit with her. "Ah came up this way to go to school." He admits. This evening just in the city walking about to see things. Even being in the area for a few years still new things to find."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Ah, but there is always something in the city that is new. People drift in and out on the winds at all times" she gives a grin.

She pauses as she gives a look to Sam with a gentle smile. "Are you a university student then? I sometimes play closer to NYU." she states.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "I am looking into a couple of the local colleges, but had just finished up with private school, and they have classes for some college transfer classes so, taking them to get some of the basics out of the way in smaler classrooms."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Not a bad plan." Alexis replies, "American school is pretty pricy compared to uni back home." she agrees, and as a few raindrops fall, she glances up, reaching for her violin case to protect the wooden instrument.

"Drat -- was hoping to get a few more out before it rained!" she protests, grasping the bucket and her violin case, and reaching for a backpack as she turns to Sam, and looks him up and down.

    "Fancy a slice of pizza?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods a bit and says "Sure." He does pull his arm out of his jacket, and moves to hold it over the woman and her things "Got an idea for a good place you want to go?" This does bring him in close to her, but since he is taller does help keep the rain off her well.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Such a gentleman!" the girl laughs, ducking beneath Sam's jacket as the rain begins to come down, and she points. "Corner of the street, there's a shop I enjoy!" she states above the rain, and she moves to lead him, guiding the taller Sam by his beltloop.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and stays close to keep her from getting wet, he gets a bit but it does not seem to bother him to much. He grins at her "Well ah was taught to treat a lovely lady right and make sure things were ok.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Your kind is a dying breed!" Alexis grins, but she does hop ahead, opening the door for Sam -- and holding it from the inside.

"In you get 'fore we have to build you an ark!" she jokes.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will follow her in and smiles a bit "Well Ah think we will be ok, worse we probably need is a bass boat." He jokes a bit and once inside will remove his jacket . He looks around and walks over towards one of the smaller intimate tables, and will hold a chair out for her

Alexis Carr has posed:
Alexis gives a smile, and she sits as prim and pretty as you please, easing the bucket, her pack, and the violin case down.

"So, Country Boy... you made it up here to a private school hm?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and will move around putting the coat on the back of the chair to dry "Why yes, Ah did lovely British bird." He will say in reply to the country boy smiling at her "Scholarship, was lucky met the right people and impressed them Ah think."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"You realize 'bird' has a different connotation where I'm from, yeah?" Alexis gives a wry grin, and she gives a shrug. "I was in a private school for a while. Some people treated it like a sleep-away camp and got sent back. Others took it seriously and some of them have some pretty shiny accolades." she smiles slightly, looking to Sam. "So, impressed them with smarts, or is it a sports scholarship?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will blush a bit and says "Ah was thinking more a lovely bird one might see while out and about no offence ment." He will tell her, and says "Well to be honest partial academic, partial need based." He does admit "I had a bit of football... American." He clarifies "In the works, but this school worked out much better."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Aah, I see." Alexis gives a smile, andd leans back against her chair as the counter help comes out, and she orders a slice of cheese pizza -- "And whatever the gentleman wants. Oh, and a water -- please." she smiles up, turning back to Sam

"Nothing to be ashamed of. Loads of my peers were needs-based. A lot of them smarter and more talented than the ones who could afford it or coasted on a name." she offers.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "Well we had a lot of mouths to feed back home, almost did not go, to stay and work in the mines, he admits." He orders a meat pepperoni and sausage slice, and a Dr. Pepper. "So you have an idea what brings me here what about yourself?""

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Oh, well, you know, girl from overseas hows up with the knowledge and power to change the world... but... finds out it's not precisely everything it's cracked up to be." the girl replies, rubbing the back of her neck a moment. "My mum an' dad split, I ended up with him."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie ahs and nods his head a bit to this and says "Ah sorry to hear it, have had some friends who went through that it can be rough. " He reaches out and gives her hand a soft squeeze. "Yea changing the world can be a long hard thing, but I have heard if you want something you need to be willing to work for it twice as hard as you want it.

Alexis Carr has posed:
She gives a shrug "Well, at least it was amicable. As amicable as such things are, anyway." she mutters, feeling she shared possibly a little too much, and she gives a small laugh, rubbing the back of her neck again.

"So, do you plan on changing the world then, Sam? At least a little?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "I try to do what I can more seeing something that needs done and doing my best to help where Ah can." He offers her a smile and says "So, I gotta ask, what got you to working with helping mutant causes?""

Alexis Carr has posed:
"... I don't like seeing someone put others down." she trails off a moment, and she leans her hand on her hand a moment as she looks at Sam. "And mutants have such a bad rap... but they're just people. Just have different talents." she states quietly, "Why? .. don't, tell me you're one of those mutant-phobic types?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie chuckles and shakes his head a bit and says "No," He does not remind her he gave more money after finding out it was helping mutants 'Actually was thinking about seeing if there was any ways I could help, and just curious what got you into it.

Alexis Carr has posed:
People do odd things for a pretty lady.

The girl gives a wry smile, and she gives a little bit of a shrug as she looks up, their pizza slices coming up.

"Ah, well, mostly just because I don't really likes bullies."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie thanks the waitress, and looks over to Alexis, and says "Well Ah will be honest have been known to do really dumb things for pretty ladies, and you are a really pretty lady, but Ah was more hoping to help hits a bit close to home."

Alexis Carr has posed:
The girl gives a small laugh, and rubs the back of her neck again. "Well, that seems to be a common thing." she replies, and she looks to Sam, looking him up and down a moment.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie offers her a smile and says "What's on your mind?" He asks as she looks him over." He studies her a moment, and says "Looks like something is on your mind." He considers it a moment and says "Yes, I am one." thinking he knows what she is wondering.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"... wait, what?" she blinks, looking over at Sam with the utmost confusion, rubbing the back of her head as she looks at Sam.

"What do you mean, you are one? A bully?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie shakes his head a bit and says "The other side of that coin the ones your helping." He looks at her, and reaches his hand to take hers. He is quiet to not to be over heard "I am one of the lucky ones, no visable appearance, folks don't know unless I tell them or they see me use my powers." He seems to think about it for some reason feels safe telling her a bit more "Sometimes I feel a bit guilty over it."

Alexis Carr has posed:
Helping mutants was one thing, associating with them was a step that she wasn't sure if she wanted to take yet. Allegra Caradenza curses herself mentally, her eyes going wide as Sam takes her hand. And she straightens up slightly.

"Well... I... I kno there are ones who don't show any outward signs. It.. it makes it easier. To help them, I mean, because they look normal. I mean they llook like --" she stammers a moment, and then she winces. "That sounds so awful."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie 's brow raises a bit at the change in her, but says to her "It is not something you can really choose. Many people have issues with people treating them different because of how they look. I mean over the past centuries it was skin color that was the dividing line, today it is mutant or human. We are all really one people, some of us can fly, move things with out mind, turn invisible or what ever. We should not be judged by having powers, but by what we do with them. Ah mean you were talking about not liking bullies, those are the ones to be worried about who use their abilities super or normal to oppress people who can't defend themselves. Mutants are just like anyone else, some are bad, and some are good, some are bullies, some are heroes.

Alexis Carr has posed:
The girl shifts her weight uncomfortably, looking at Sam as she bites her lower lip, and then looks around, and turns her focus to her pizza a moment.

"Is it true that mutants can smell out if others are mutants as well?" she questions quietly, not raising her eyes to him

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Never met the people your trying to help?" He studies her a moment, and says "Most no. There are a few who can sense them with smell, can see a difference in them or such. Not a common ability though from what Ah understand more often people use mechanical means to detect us." He looks at her, and says "Alexis is there any difference in the country boy who tried to keep the british bird dry, just cause he is a mutant?"

Alexis Carr has posed:
"No, no of course not, Sam. Just..." she breathes out, and ithdraws her hand, rubbing the back of her head, and she gives a small laugh "I guess I've never met anyone who was just so... casual." she gives a slight smile.

"And I told you, Bird means something veeery different, and I'm not a ... a... floozy!" she decides on the word, slightly archaic as it is.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "I know, I was more making reference to both of our earlier comments more than calling you one. Sorry if I offended with it." He looks to her, and says "As for comfortable, not sure what it is, I trust you. It is almost like I have known you in another life, or maybe another universe." He grins a bit at her, and says "Besides I would probably be more the bird, since I can fly." He teases a bit.

Alexis Carr has posed:
The girl sits quietly as she rubs the back of her head, and looks to Sam with apprehensive curiosity.

"So... like... wings sprout out? Or tele... telekenesis?" she ventures, though she's looking rather nervous about sitting with someone who just casually let her know he's a mutant

A mutant that goes to a private school on an academic scholarship. Bizzare twists of fate.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie shakes his head, and says "Na, blast field, think more human torch but me and anyone I am carrying are not on fire, and what looks like fire around us is a shield protecting you from damage." He offers her a smile. He maybe should not be telling someone, but he is only telling his own secrets, and hoping to help bring someone who wants to help mutants more to that side, plus she is hot.

Alexis Carr has posed:
The girl sits back a moment, "So, then you're impervious to damage while this field is active, and it enables you to /fly/? That... that's wholely remarkable." she whispers quietly, folding her fingers a moment, "So does that mean you're considering a lifetime of superheroism? I hear the pay's awful and the benefits are bad. And the insurance must be outrageous." she jokes.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "I don't know pay is probably pretty good, you just have to realize not in money but in helping people and saving them and the world. Plus the Fantastic Four seem to be doing pretty well." He grins "Me, though I am a pizza delivery boy."

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Those must be the safest pizzas in the city." the girl gives a smile, raising her own slice of cheese and letting some of the oil drip back onto the plate before folding it and taking a small bite. "You'll have to let me know which one, so I can order from you!"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "It is a bit up the state don't deliver down this far sadly, or I would hook ya up, but I might be presuaded to make a personal deliver some time. He takes a sip of his drink and says "So, what about you tell me some about yourself?

Alexis Carr has posed:
"Why, Sam, are you flirting with me? You hardly know a thing about me." Alexis gives a grin, and she gives a bit of a shrug. "What's to tell? I'm a private school kid who likes to raise funds for those in need in her spare time Moved around a lot, so I don't have many close friends, I'm afraid I'm rather boring!" she protests.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie grins a bit at her, and says "Well ah am trying to learn more about you, and then there is the whole what better way to get to know someone than spend time with them, maybe even eating pizza, talking looking into their lovely eyes." He offers her a smile looking into said eyes.

Alexis Carr has posed:
The girl blushes, curling her fingers a moment as she raises her dark eyes back to Sam's, and she shakes her head. "Maybe sometime I'll let you take me flying." she replies gently.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles at her, and says "It would be nice, and we were talking about new things to see in the city. I can show you a lot of things about the city that you may never have seen. "did you know some buildings have what they are spelled out on top of them?

Alexis Carr has posed:
"I did!" she gives a grin, leaning forward as she looks Sam up and down a moment. "So that helicopters can navigate about, that I'm told. New York would be a nightmare if you didn't know where you were going from above!"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "This is true, no one has figured out how to put street signs 30 stories up and keep them there, but with all the flyers in the area, you would think." He grins a bit and says "There are some near places to see where you can sit and watch the world.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"You know even if they were that high, some ne'er-do-well would come by and snatch them for their room." Alexis jokes, and she blushes a moment, and tilts her wrist back "I'm.. I'm sure there is.. but I should be going. Homework to do." she replies, and she reaches for her bag to pull out some cash for the food.

"I... would like to see you again, I should think. Should we cross paths again."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles a bit at her, and says "Does that mean, I can get your phone number or maybe your adress for a flyby pizza delivery?" He grins and says "And I got the food it is on me." He will tell her. Moving to pull out his wallet.

Alexis Carr has posed:
Witht hat, the girl gives a smile, and draws out a Sharpie. She takes Sam's hand, and writes an at sign, alwaysin -- and one of those musical notation bits, a trebble cleff on the back of Sam's hand in bright blue marker.

And also presses a twenty to his palm.

"I invited. My treat. I'll let you get it next time." she gives a grin, and giving a bright laugh she grabs her bucket, her backpack and her case, and goes to make her way out of the pizza shop!

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will look down at what she wrote, and the money he tries to complain but she has already started out the door "Hey how do I make this on a keyboard." He will ask as she heads out.

Alexis Carr has posed:
"You're the one on the private school cleverness access, I'm sure you'll think of something!" the girl laughs, "That's my social media handle! Look out for it!" the bell rings as she heads out, and a couple of the folks behind the counter give little titters of laughter.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will pay the bill, leaving the money on the table, and will head out a bit to see if he can see which way she went. He is not flying least not yet.

Alexis Carr has posed:
The rain at least has let up, and Sam might be able to catch the peep of her orange cap as she weaves through foot traffic, gracefully dodging oncoming walkers as she moves through the crowd.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will head towards the way she went and tries to get a bit of an idea where she is going and will try to jet in the air, and try to end up being in front of where she is heading as she goes.

Alexis Carr has posed:
She was slipping a pair of earbuds into her ears, not noticing Sam getting a bead on her. She dodges in and out of foot traffic, crossing over a crosswalk, and then she goes into one of the minor art galleries nearby, ducking into the coat check area, where there's some lockers you can rent for a dollar's worth of quarters

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie 's brow will raise, but he will head over to look into the gallery it does not hurt to know what art the girl you like is into after all.

Alexis Carr has posed:
Ah, but it isn't the gallery that she's there for. She takes a duffle bag out of a locker, and ducks into the lady's room.

And in a matter of moments, a similar looking young woman steps out. She's wearing tight, skinny jeans, a white blouse and a very expensive looking jacket. Designer heeled boots Big sunglasses. Her hair was down, hanging to her thighs in a casual ponytail. Her makeup is different, a violetish shade on her lips as she steps out of the gallery, striding into the street.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will probably take a moment to notice it is her. She may catch him at the window a bit confused look on his face.

Alexis Carr has posed:
She wasn't looking for him. Alexis doesn't see him, but someone does get out of a car, and open a door for her before she ducks inside.

"About fifteen minutes late, are we Miss?" a tall, thin man inquires.

"My apologies; I as caught up in some of the artwork. Just couldn't confirm who it was who made it." she replies, and the door closes, the man gets in the car, and the car drivess off.

And Sam is left there, with @AlwaysInTrebble written on his hand.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie hmms a bit and watches the girl go, wondering why she is hiding from who ever she is hiding from, but he knows someone who can help him figure it out He picks up the phone to call a friend and see about getting some help from Doug.
