Cast of Characters: Michael Erickson, Jessica Drew

Michael Erickson has posed:
Whilst people have been off in strike teams, Michael has been at home - as he is now, staring up at the night sky in his gray suit, arms crossed and looking as if for all the world there is something up there that may, indeed, solve all the world's problems if he can just figure it out. Grave and contemplative, like a detective in an 80's noir film. Who knows what goes on in that bird brain of his?

Jessica Drew has posed:
Of course, he is looking up at the stars, not having had a home as a child or none that she cares to identify as one, she projects what it must be like to never speak your native language or be around people who don't need cues explained.

Jess pushes open the glass doors and steps out into the soft night air to join him. "What stars are you looking at?"

Michael Erickson has posed:
"Unfamiliar ones." Michael doesn't look down yet, instead keeping his gaze fixed upon those glittering motes of light far away. "That is to say, I know the constellations local to the planet, but I haven't actually /been/ to any of them yet." Now he turns his attention to her, smiling faintly. "Hello. I heard you were out getting exercise, mmm?"

Jessica Drew has posed:
Jess looks at Michael still watching the stars. "Yes, Exercise is one word for it. The Chief was out in the field. She insisted on it. None," she underlines the word with a chopping motion of her hand, "were happy with it." A sigh wafts up into the night sky and she crosses her arms and shrugs.

"We got our objective. You'll surely hear about it. Madame Hydra." She uncrosses her arms and touches one side of her face where the remnants of a burn, rapidly healing, reddens it.

Michael Erickson has posed:
"I should go say hello," he muses, squinting at the redness on the side of her face - stepping forward to reach up to it, though he doesn't touch. Even if he'd very much like to. "Terrorists...amuse me." A slight edge as he squints a bit more at the burn, then looks into her eyes. "Congratulations, in any case. Quite a catch."

Jessica Drew has posed:
Jess smiles into the sensitiveness of the gesture and splays her fingers to either side of the scar which is still sensitive. "It will be gone tomorrow. The virtue of being a mutant."

Shaking her head with amusement, "Well, it wasn't just me. We have a new operative." A pause. "With an odd name. Quiet. And Jane was there and Angelo. So how could anything go wrong. Quiet is very unusual. You'll see."

Michael Erickson has posed:
"Mutants..." He chuckles, looking back up to the sky. "Talking of mutants, it's funny - you'd think that, given their abilities and their exposure to wonders of the world, my students upstate would want to learn all about space and /its/ wonders, too. But they don't. Isn't that strange? They just listen and...that's it." He sighs, running a hand through his hair before changing the subject.

"So, this Quiet woman. What makes her unusual?"

Jessica Drew has posed:
Still fixed on the new agent's strangeness she doesn't comment on Michael's students at first, intending to circle around to them later. Her lips compress into a line as she searches for how to describe what the woman does, "Well, she certainly knows how to fight." Which skirts the strangeness.

"She quite literally poofs into thin air, leaving a trail of thin black smoke, like a gunpowder discharge, I suppose. And she can travel like that. Super stealth. Pure nothingness. I don't know what could stop her."

Michael Erickson has posed:
"I'll have to engineer a method, then," he replies simply. "If there isn't anything already in SHIELD possession. Can't have people like that around without some sort of check." The spy in him speaks, the soldier. Simple, practical. The strangeness doesn't register so much as the potential threat.

That said, he makes a faint face. "I need to secure a ship for us."

Jessica Drew has posed:
"Well, of course you do," she replies emphatically.

"I mean need to get a ship. And I suppose SHIELD wants her on our side because maybe there is no way of stopping her. What about Stark? Weren't you working with him?"

Michael Erickson has posed:
"Not really." He scratches at the side of his nose, shaking his head faintly. "I was working with Reed Richards, but the man is very busy and I've asked him for enough in the way of donations. The Quinjet is lovely, a good first start for this organization, but SCAR would not be using it. Perhaps I need to head to one of the local star systems, see if I can't secure something through trade or whatever other method of procurement I can arrange." Grand Theft Starship, is there even such a thing?

Jessica Drew has posed:
Jess reads Michael very well and turns a wry eye on him at whatever method of procurement. "Why you never told me you were in "procurement" Michael. Generally people who have been "procured from" come searching for the procurer. Potential for a lot of disappointment there."

Michael Erickson has posed:
"I've done a lot of things in my life," he says with a faint smirk. "Besides, some people just need...procuring from." A wink. "In any case, I'll think of something. I'm told SWORD is starting to hear about SCAR, and is curious about it. Since it was basically just created from whole cloth out of nowhere. Encroaching on their patch a bit."

Jessica Drew has posed:
"That you have," she agrees with a snort. "I just hope they don't have good intergalactic police or we might have visitors that are unwanted and you will be blamed. I would hate that. The Chief would be quite upset," she adds with a lift of her eyebrows.

Michael Erickson has posed:
"Oh, I'd never break the law," he says with brows mock-lifted. "Goodness. I'm as good a citizen as ever there was. Anyway." He offers her his arm. "I was about to go home. Come with me?"

Jessica Drew has posed:
Jess links her arm through his with a smile, "Why yes, Mr. Procurer. We need to talk about this. I can't see SHIELD giving you carte blanche with this. And, I don't know that I'm ready to quit my job. Come on."
