Cast of Characters: Sebastian Shaw, Blake Riviere

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
A card was handed to Blake Rivière during her last social visit to the Hellfire Club. It had the universal chess symbol for the Black King on one side, and a date and time on the other, along with a location - the Public House of the Hellfire Club.

At that specified time, Sebastian Shaw sits in a semi-private booth in the corner of the Public House. There are patrons about, but he sits quietly, a glass of wine in front of him, untouched for the moment. As usual, he is wearing a finely tailored Victorian style suit of lavish purple and lace.

Shouod Blake arrive and not automatically assume he is the one awaiting her presence, an attendant will swiftly advise her of who has extended the invitation and show her to Sebastian's table.

Blake Riviere has posed:
Of course, to plenty of people who didn't look too deep Blake was a several generations in member of the club. Those a little more attentive would probably have noticed that each mother to daughter seemed to be identical in appearance. Some things were better not questioned, and she was hardly the only member of the Hellfire Club with a little strangeness about them. When the card was handed to her, the raven-haired woman had indeed examined it before arriving at the meeting as offered.

Her form? It was wrapped in a black dress, backless and criss-crossing straps of her usual style choices before moving take the seat with all the comfort and grace of a noble that Shaw was almost certainly accustomed to seeing.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Ms. Riviere. How good of you to come." Sebastian Shaw nearly purrs the greeting, rising up from his seat respectfully as she approaches, and then takes his seat back once she does. "I realize that you, and your family, have been long standing members of the Hellfire Club and yet you and I have not had nearly so much occasion to speak. And so I hope you do not mind my efforts to rectify that." His manners are crisp and polished, his face aside from the brief smile of greeting rather non-expressive, as if permanently engaged in some sort of game of poker. "I trust that you have been enjoying the benefits of membership."

Blake Riviere has posed:
Her seat taken, Blake nods her head in thanks, her own accent unhidden as those faint french tones follow her words. "It is a pleasure Mr. Shaw," she offers, hands folded lightly in her lap beneath the table. Perfect manners herself, she was clearly quite comfortable in such a setting, even if in the normal movements among the lower aspects of the club she'd come across as comfortable, confident and flirtatious as word had likely reached his ears. "Of course, it is always wonderful to among the creative, ambitious or 'High society' as it were."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Of course." Certainly, as much as her general tendencies had reached her ears, Sebastian Shaw's were near legend within the Hellfire Club. He made no secret of his unique, sometimes eccentric, and always lavish ... engagements. "We do rather consider ourselves among the best that this world has to offer, much like the appointments within and what we bring within the walls to satiate our desires. Nothing but the best." He places his hands in front of his face, steepling his fingers as he regards her. "You have shown that you are the very paragon of what we aspire to fill the public halls of the Hellfire Club with." There is a slight emphasis on the word public, a deliberate effort to convey a contrast. "I also believe that you lead a rather interesting life outside of the walls as well." His eyes remain fixed upon hers as he renders a statement that somehow sounds like a question in disguise.

Blake Riviere has posed:
Of course, centuries of life and involvement with the club, even on its outer edges out of necessity for the illusion of her identity, Blake wasn't without an appreciation for the resources of the group. A little quirk of a painted lips and the woman's folded hands remain in her lap as she tilts her head. "Well, it is always better if one's nights are interesting, No?"

She does indeed meet his gaze, confidance unshaking even as she dances around the topic. Did he know what she was? Quite possibly. She had indeed taken a prospective 'dinner partner' home from the public house more than once, although they were always returned alive and with fuzzy enough memories to think they'd had a more 'normal' evening.

Still, quite simply it was normal for anyone to be seeking 'fine dining' among the Hellfire club. She just did it in her own way!

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
A slow grin surfaces on Sebastian Shaw's face. "I crave the most interesting of nights, Ms. Riviere." Did he know, or was he just dancing around it? Hard to say. "And suffice it to say, you have garnered something of a reputation for interesting nights. Which is why I thought it was high time I spent a bit more time getting to know you. It seems I have been remiss in attending to some of our legacy members, and I wish to rectify that."

His gaze measures her again, considering for a moment. "Please, if you do not mind, share with me some of your interests. What is it about the Hellfire Club that you find most appealing?"

Blake Riviere has posed:
Interesting, sure enough Blake gives a little soft chuckle before nodding her head. Making to finally lift her hand, a signal for service, perhaps she was wanting a drink, if only to suit the illusion. But still his question makes her smile lightly, lowering that hand to tap her cheek lightly.

"Experience, it is what makes life exciting. To be able to find things that are interesting, enticing or exciting..." she muses lightly. Immortality got awfully boring if one didn't find the means to make it appeal.

"Isn't that why most indulge in anything? For the experience of it?"

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Of course. One would hardly indulge for the after-effects, such as they are." Sebastian's eyes twinkle with amusement. "Of course, when one is like us, for whom those after-effects are not nearly so impactful, it can allow for all the more excess in our indulgences." His eyes drift down to her finger, attracted by the motion, and linger upon her smile before returning to her meet her gaze.

"I shall speak a bit less circumspect, Ms. Riviere. Are you aware of what happens behind closed doors within the Hellfire Club?"

Blake Riviere has posed:
The finger lingers, but only for a moment, passing over her lip and falling away lightly back to her lip as her eyes remain focused on the man across the table from her. "The intrigue is certainly fun enough, but there is a charm in being direct, no?" she muses before shaking her head lightly.

"I know as much as I have seen, but have enough secrets of your own and you grow to learn when things are cloaked from you."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"The intrigue may be the most delightful part," muses Sebastian. "Until the reality is revealed to be so much more delicious." His eyes drift back down to the trace of her fingertip, before meeting her gaze once more.

"Wise words, well spoken." He lifts his glass of wine and takes a slow sip, his gaze steady on her. "Would you care to join me on a trip behind the curtain, and see for yourself what the Hellfire Club truly has to offer one of your unique ... tastes and talents?"

Blake Riviere has posed:
How curious, yet Blake does indeed make to lift her own glass to her lips, a small sip taken before she nods her head. "Mr Shaw, I'd hardly be one to refuse such an offer after what I've just said..." A little quirk to her lips of a smile that's almost feline before she inclines her head. "And is this little peek into the mystery something you're offering this evening, or merely a teasing glimpse of the future?"

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"I would never tease something that I was not willing to provide." Sebastian slips out from his seat, keeping his glass in one hand and extending the other towards Blake. "Join me?" A request, or an offer, not a command.

"At the very least, I can promise an evening you shall not soon forget."

Blake Riviere has posed:
Sure enough, Blake shifts her glass to one hand, lazily letting the stem slip between her fingertips to cradle it lightly in the grasp. She makes to follow, hand placed in his to indeed allow him to lead her onwards towards the promise. "Well then, I simply cannot wait to see for myself."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
His grip on her hand is soft, and supple, although there is clear strength beneath. "It truly is something that must be seen to be understood." Sebastian draws her along with him as he turns towards one of the corners of the room. No nod from him is necessary - one of the attendants already slips over and quietly opens a door that was not visible a mere moment ago. Wordlessly Shaw steps towards the door and then guides Blake forward with his hand, waiting for her to step through into the darkness first.

Blake Riviere has posed:
A creature of the 'Night' even if she was quite capable of walking in the sun, Blake wasn't exactly a stranger to stepping into darkness. Of course with her senses she could certainly have heard things that were literally beyond, but there was a difference to moving over the threshold being invited in.

She'd wanted an experience, now it was time to see just what secrets were there to see...
