Comparing Notes on Ivana
Date of Scene: 17 April 2022
Location: Hell's Kitchen
Synopsis: Grifter talks to Rainmaker after helping her get away from DV8.
Cast of Characters: Cole Cash, Sarah Rainmaker

Cole Cash has posed:
When Sarah finally wakes up it is pretty dark. The place looks like a clinic, she is on a stretchers, but the place is cluttered, and the lights are out, except for a sliver of light through a narrow, small window near the ceiling that suggests she is in a basement.

There is an I.V. setup going to her left arm, and there is a rather large man on a chair, legs propped on a desk, a cowboy hat on his face. He seems to be snoring lightly. He wears a heavy coat, and has a large handgun on a hip holster.

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker is sitting up rapidly after realizing she's been unconscious. Her sudden surge upwards rapidly makes her dizzy and despite her attempts at not doing so she starts to hacking up and coughing. So much for hopefully trying to remain unnoticed. Seeing the gun not pointed at her, she would force herself to relax.

Cole Cash has posed:
Well, that coughing wakes up the sleeping man quickly. He straightens, and glances at the girl. "Ah, good. You are awake. Relax, Ivana's psycho kids are not around." He tosses the hat to the desk, feet to the floor and with a scretch of old wood on concrete, he turns the chair to face her. "Cole Cash. I knew you dad, back then." He makes a lopsided grin. "I am here because John Lynch. You know him?"

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would take a breath, moving to try to lean forwards to make breathing easier, "Yes. He saved me from Ivana. I fear he's dead now." Her tone flat and tired. "Are you one of his friends? ... Thank you for saving me." She would draw a hand slowly up and over her knees, to help her sit up inch by inch.

Cole Cash has posed:
"I am not one of his friends," states Cole very clearly. "But we are blood brothers," he admits. "Your father too. The seventh generation of American super-soldiers."

He studies the girl for a second. "Although you look more like your mother, which is not a bad thing. Still, using her surname is not the best idea. Lynch should have known someone would go after you and the other kids. He was in I.O. for years. What the hell was he thinking?"

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would pull her legs up to her chest, "I never knew my father. My mother never talked about him at all or what her life had been like. I never heard anything about what they had been through."

"After most of us were broken out from I.O., Lynch set us up a cover network. We all had very well setup identities and money to make new lives. They kept an eye on us. Fairchild was always the one who helped keep it together." She would smile sadly.

"The idea was that Caitlin was too public to ever go after and if anyone did any of the others that the rest of the team she was on would be htere to back her up."

Cole Cash has posed:
"Typical, he was a marine," mutters Cole. On the other hand last time he heard of Callahan he had been gunned down by assassins working (probably!) for the US government. Given Sarah's age, she must have been a toddler. "Well, someone blew up Lynch's yacht. Maybe with him inside. But maybe not. Ivana thinks she has free reign and it looks like you are in her list."

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would nod, "I saw it in the news. With everything going on, he hasn't made a move to contact Caitlin or I. And he's not interfered with anything.. So he's dead or in a state where he can't stop things." As far as she's concerned, if he could he would have by now. "Ivana ordered it."

Cole Cash has posed:
"Yeah, although the evidence I have won't hold in a courthouse," confirms Cole. He gestures to Sarah. "Someone stopped your heart for a minute, those are anticoagulants and vasodilators, but I guess you should check out with a cardiologist to make sure the are no arrhythmias or any lasting consequence. Do you have a place to hide? The Titan's Tower is very public, but it might be guarded enough Ivana won't try to attack you there."

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would nod, "I'm staying at the Towers. Their security is.. Substantial. Even beyond the team members. It would be.. ALmost impossible for her to infiltrate or attack there. I.. Shouldn't have left, but I got a message.." Her face was sour. "I should have known better before going out."

Cole Cash has posed:
"Yep, it was a trap," explains Cole. "I was listening, the channel was correct, but the code was obsolete. Not that you could have possibly known. But just don't answer calls without plenty backup and a good exit strategy."

He pulls out a blank card and writes a few things with a pen. "If you are attacked and are very, very desperate. These two will help you against Ivana. She fears them for good reasons. But they are almost as bad, so only as last resort. I am going after that bitch, but the odds are not good."

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would fold her legs together, "You're right. Just.." She would wipe away a tear, "I didn't think of that. I.. Didn't stay with Lynch very long after they had a cover identity for me setup." And in that timespan she got rather sloppy.

"I.. Appreciate it. And who are they so I know how desperate I should be to call them in if they'll make things that bad?" Nearly as bad as Ivana was a desperate circumstance indeed. She goes to take out her hand to accept it. Going to memorize the information.

Cole Cash has posed:
"Well, they won't kill you outright, they'll remember Callahan and they have more hideouts and backups than Lynch and me combined," there are two names in the card. Slade Wilson, a phone number and an address in New York. Amanda Waller, phone number and address in Washington. "But they are assholes for many other reasons. It would be better if you never meet them."

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would take the card and look down and memorize the information. "Thank you." A hand going up now and it would surge with electricity, then going to burn it. "The cure is worse than the disease you make it sound like. Thank you."

Cole Cash has posed:
"It is not good people to become indebted to," admits Cole. "But debts can be paid," he adds, heading out. "Still, the Titans might give you better sanctuary. I just... loathe getting kids involved in this old shit. Most of them are too young to know better. We old spooks are just too wicked for them."

Sarah Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah Rainmaker would nod, "I trust the Titans. I don't want them involved either. But they are anyways. I don't think even Ivana is that stupid to escalate things to try a frontal attack on them." At Cole's comment her face would sour and she would nod in agreement, "Sorry." Not that she's old or had those life experiences. But she can definitely appreciate the sentiment.
