Cast of Characters: Stephanie Brown, Dick Grayson

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Breaking up the drag racing out in an old section of the park had been accomplished, and before anyone was hurt. Though barely. Someone had helped, a man in an armored suit in a flying vehicle.

Batgirl is extra careful arriving back at the brownstone and slipping inside. Usually once she makes it to a roof she's ok, though with warmer weather that means surveilling the roofs to make sure no one is outside, enjoying the gradually warming weather in late April.

She comes in on the top floor, removing her cowl and the rest of her costume, and then ducking under the shower quickly. She heads downstairs wearing boxers and a tank top, still drying her hair and with a brush in hand meant for it once she gets to the computer.

Sitting down at the system that links to the Batcave, she begins watching the video her costume recorded of the night, and begins the process of working out who the armored suit wearer was.

Dick Grayson has posed:
When he heard the shower start up Dick pulled a lasagna out of the oven and cut two fairly generous portions out. Putting them on plates and grabbing utensils and bottles of water, he makes his way into the computer room.

"Anything exciting tonight? I'm guessing no real problems at least since you seem unbruised." He puts one plate down to the side of the keyboard for her, then hooks another chair with his foot to pull it over and sit beside her and look at the screen as well.

"So what are we looking at today? Any real crimes, or just low level policing?"

Stephanie Brown has posed:
The brush is doing its work on Stephanie's hair by the time that Dick comes in with the food. The aroma of it hits her nose and Stephanie reaches down to rest her hand on her flat belly. "Oh you're making me rumble," she says, blue eyes shining brightly as she looks up at Dick.

She sets the brush aside as she rises from the chair, getting up while Dick is pulling the chair over to wrap him in a big hug and share a long, rather sultry kiss with him. The kind of kiss that expresses everything about her feelings for Dick Grayson at once.

When that's finished, she settles back down and says, "Car races out in that section of the park that was left dead by the fight with Felix Faust awhile back. They made a bit of a course on it. Racing for pink slips. Overheard someone at the union talking about their buddy whose car rolled and was totaled racing there. Leaving him in the ICU. Turned out one of the racers was having buddies along the way set up to help delay his opponents or cause crashes if he wasn't winning."

She slides her plate over and gets a first bite, drumming her heels at how it hits the spot. "So," she says, covering her mouth until she's finished swallowing the bite. "I got there a bit at the last moment. Someone in a flying car and an armored suit took out the first guy. Then his flying car started sputtering and I got the next two. The brakes on one of the cars were out too by the time he hit the end of the race, and armored guy managed to stop it before it went into the crowd. I was going to have to wrap it's axle and hope it stopped it instead of tearing it off, but he landed on the hood and flipped it short of them. Suit with a kind of bug-head on it," she says, gesturing to the footage.

Dick Grayson has posed:
After thoroughly enjoying the kiss, Dick sits beside her, listening to the events of the night. "Yeah, might let some basic racing go, but not when people are causing wrecks on purpose. Better that they join one of the amateur racing clubs in the area, I know there's a few official amateur racecourses in the area."

He takes a bite of the lasagna while Steph points out her unexpected helper of the evening. "Well, points for him helping out, but Bruce will probably complain about an unsanctioned hero working in Gotham. He really is kind of territorial. All things considered, it's probably a good thing to have extra heroes around."

He examines a closeup of the armor in question then shakes his head, "Not anyone I recognize, must be an up and comer, especially with some of his tech malfunctioning. Did you get to talk to him at all?"

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie works her way through the lasagna with a will. They go through a lot of calories on patrol even when it's quiet. When one is literally racing cars to get to the next ambush ahead of them, even more so.

"Didn't get a chance," she says. "Soon as he stopped the car he was up and away in his vehicle, and I had a pair of drivers I needed to check their condition that trumped a conversation with him," Stephanie tells Dick.

She zooms in on the best images she has of the helmet. "Kind of has a mandible sort of look to it, to go with the buy eyes. Insect Man?" she says thoughtfully before stabbing the lasagna with her fork to free up another bite.

"How about you, any thing exciting tonight?" she inquires, turning her attention on Dick more fully.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Shaking his head, he waits until he chews and swallows the lasagna before he answers her. "Nope, it's my night off unless there's a major emergency, thus the time to make dinner. It's Alfred's recipe of course, but I think I came fairly close. I spent a good amount of time around him when I was fairly young. When I wasn't doing schoolwork or training with Bruce, I was following Alfred around. He taught me how to cook, you know."

Watching her demolish the lasagna, he smiles and says, "Looks like I got it about right, or you're just hungry enough to eat whatever was put in front of you." He grins at that last option, then adds "But we probably should keep an eye out for this new guy and try to talk to him. I'd prefer he didn't hurt himself or others if his tech bugs out again at a time he's somewhere with a crowd of civilians."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown motions with her fork towards the plate. With one of her warm, goofy grins, she tells Dick, "Little bit of column A, a little bit of column B," It is tasty, and she's hungry enough it wouldn't stop her if it wasn't.

"Yes, was pretty impressive-looking, the vehicle. It wasn't really a stealth craft that I could tell, and I could definitely hear it," she says. She punches up some of the video and does some clean up on the audio to be able to hear the engine better. "Can probably get some kind of idea what sort of propulsion it has, from that," she surmises.

Back to the lasagna. "I'll see if I can't cross paths with him again. Hopefully the fact we worked towards the same ends will help with talking to him," she says.

Stephanie sets her fork down and rests her hand on Dick's shoulder, then leans her head over against it. "Glad to be home though. And before we're both too tired to stay up longer," she says.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick slips an arm around her and rests his head against hers, "I'll keep watch for him when I'm patrolling, and we should probably have Barbara watch for him, she's got more surveillance around the city than anyone." He pauses, then says "I'm glad any time we make it home, honestly. We don't exactly have the safest jobs around, but they are needed and who better than us to do it?."

He gives her a little hug with the arm he's got around her then asks "Was there anything specific you had on your mind before we both fall asleep?" He turns his head to look at her, then grins and adds "Other than demolishing the entire lasagna, that is."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie laughs and gives Dick a coy smile. "A girl has to keep her strength up. Never know when some vigorous activity might kick in," she says, looking down and giving a shy grin before peeking back up at him teasingly.

Her hand that rests on his shoulders slides around to brush the skin along the back of his neck. "How about if we start up a fire in the fireplace, and settle in and watch a couple of episodes of Halo to start with?" she suggests. Though if they end up distracted and having to go back and rewatch it later, it wouldn't be the first time that had happened. "I'd say open a bottle of wine but alcohol might just put me out right now. Maybe I could make us some cappuccinos though?"

Dick Grayson has posed:
With a smile he nods, "Now that sounds like a plan, but finish your dinner first, you have to keep your strength up. And cappuccinos sound like a good idea, or I'll probably end up carrying you to bed and tucking you in." He taps her nose lightly and adds, "Besides, you're still too young for alcohol."

He takes another bite of the lasagna then says, "Really, you need to keep up your energy for any vigorous activity that might crop up. We do have to be ready to go at a moments notice you know."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
At the mention of her not yet meeting the drinking age laws, Stephanie lets out an exasperated puff of air that doubles duty of dislodging a stray wisp of blond hair that was trying to fall in front of her eye. She grumbles good-naturedly, "Old enough to save the world, but not to toast it. Ah, my life!"

She gives Dick a little side bump and then gets back to work on the lasagna, making steady work on it. "I'm glad," she tells him between bites, "That they got the real voice for Cortana for the series. Makes it feel more like the game that way. Too bad they couldn't have Master Chief's real voice, but the guy doesn't look anything near the part," she says.

Before long she's cleaned her plate. "Finished. Now for the coffee," Stephanie says, offering to take Dick's plate if he's done as well.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick takes his last bite, then puts his plate on hers when she offers. "Yeah, the right voices are good for immersion when you watch it, especially on something like Halo where so many people know it inside and out."

He stands and follows her towards the kitchen, but turns and goes into the living room instead. "I'll get the fire going while you do the coffee."

True to his word, he's got a fire burning when she comes in with the coffee and the tv on with Halo pulled up on screen. "All set on this end, and it looks like you've got the rest ready to go." The coffee table is pulled a little closer to the sofa since they actually have things to put down on it. He pats the cushion beside him "Ok, sit, and it's time for the relaxing part of the evening."
