Cast of Characters: Reed Richards, Namor

Reed Richards has posed:
It is a little odd when one of your greatest rivals reaches out with a casual request for an audience, kings being kings, but as Reed gets older them less these turns surprise him. So, he reached back out and set an appointment, contacting your people who do such things, make it all official, even booking the large conference room and having it set to if not full formal, at least two notches above casual. There is a spread of brunch foods, from both the surface and atlantean cuisines, as well as coffee tea and some off the beverages consumed in Atlantis. The atlantean flag is on display, along with the ol stars and stripes equally honered and respected. Even Reed is in his formal hero attire, the one with only one datapad pouch. You would know that his hero outfits are actually designed to help him keep the human shape more easily. He waits casually, persuing an article and fiddling with some sort of computational model, involving planetary dynamics. You may recognize that it is actually a model of the proposed location of the space port and air traffic patteerns curreltly overlaid with proposed solution for planes and also for arriving interplanetary vessels.

Reed looks up, perhaps a little tiredness behind the eyes. He smiles, "Your highness, I apologize that Susan isn't at home, what can I do for you? Are there questions or requests for the Spaceport?"

Namor has posed:
A little odd indeed. Namor and Reed rarely spoke to one another. It didn't help that Namor had affections for Reed's wife, Susan Richards, before their marriage and made efforts to woo her /during/ their marriage. But Namor was no fool. There was much to discuss with Reed, and as a man, he knew a hatchet needed to be buried. His arrival is swift and measured, arriving flanked by multiple guards that are required for one of his station.

He doesn't need the guards, but Atlantis wouldn't dare let it's emperor go unprotected onto the Surface World. His eyes were sharp as he appears in his robes, his eyes discover Reed's reading material and recognizing a space port and air traffic patterns. Is Reed planning on interplanetary solutions? How fun.

"Richards." Namor questions him. "I'm not here for Susan. I'm here for you." Namor's tone is a scary one. He always talked like that however. Always had that air of intimidation around him. He gestures to his guards, who begin to enjoy the feast that Reed had planned for them. "Your hospitality is noted. I do have a wish to discuss the space port with you. But first, we must discuss the transgressions I have caused in your marriage."

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards smiles wryly, as he deapans, "You really aren't my type, either Namor. But I am flattered by the offer." Reed bows low, and the guards squint menacingly. The intimidation has never really worked on Reed or for that matter on the FF in general. They have faced the wrath of Namor, of Atlantis and of various combinations of the two.

Reed tilts his head curiously, and nods taking in what Namor is saying, he raises his eyebrows, "Well, this is a surprise, not an unwelcome one, please excuse my impertinence and continue. I would like to hear more of your opinions and thinking on the space port once we are done with this issue.

Namor has posed:
Namor shakes his head. "Don't flatter yourself, Richards." Namor clasps his hands behind his back, taking a soldier's stance. Namor knew he was superior to the normal man. The Fantastic Four was a challenge, rivals that he constantly faced again and again. Sometimes he won. Sometimes he lost. It's the way of these battles. He looks upon Reed then, looking him in the eyes.

"I have made numerous advances on Susan Storm. Now Susan Richards. I have little intent to grovel before you. But I am a man of honor first. I have come to pay my apologies for causing you distress. I am of the understanding you ahve children. You are their father. She is their mother. I wish to pay my debt. That being said, I will offer you my assistance when next you require it."

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards nods easily meeting that gaze, he resists the urge to smile knowing how deadly serious Namor takes these things. In the waters they swam it was easy to forget how dangerous the wildlife could be and Namor was a world class threat when riled, an ally or foe to be respected, "We do, I am. She is. We accept your offer, assuming you make no other advances the matter is settled, and you have my hope that that you find an Empress to make you as happy as Susan has made me." Reed offers his hand to Namor as a token of the agreement. "Thank you, Emperor Namor."

Namor has posed:
Hand offered, Namor gives Reed a firm handshake. "What do they say among the Surface? 'Bury the hatchet'." Namor nods to Reed. "Consider it buried." Namor informs of Reed, before he looks at the material Reed was reading. He tilts his head then at the work there.

"No thanks are necessary. It was long overdue. But now you will speak to me about this project of yours and how Atlantis may assist. Interstellar travel is going to be a major point for the earth. Atlantis would have it's hand in its construction staff."

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards nods and smiles, "I don't doubt considering its location that Atlantis would be a crucial player in construction and maintenance. I have been working on issues, regarding incoming and outgoing interplanetary vessels and the requisite adjustments necessary to commercial flight paths, keeping airspace clear from terrestrial aircraft. I also can work with Atlantean scientists on developing some freighters and cruisers, perhaps other larger craft for exploration and commerce. I do not doubt that we will also need to look into fielding a defensive fleet given the nature of the undertaking. If nothing more, we will need to have a coast guard capable of patrolling our solar system and tugs capable of maintaining orbital space lanes. It is a whole new way of looking at out place. I will work with whomever needs to take lead, whether Shield, the Justice League or some multi-national conglomeration."

Namor has posed:
Namor nods in approval to Reed. "Good. Atlantis will help you. I will send laborers and workers, in addition to our best engineers to service this expedition. A defensive fleet will be necessary if we want to deny possible attack from space. The Battle of New York must not be repeated.

He watches Reed for a moment. "Indeed. Atlantean weaponry can be delivered to the possibility of this defense fleet. Maintaining the defense of space lanes will be required."

Reed Richards has posed:
Old Man Richards nods and considers Namor, then he nods and activates a new hologram, "That would be welcome, this is something I have been toying with... " Reed presents a hologram of the earth and the space around it, centered on the sun and extending to the asteroid belt. The Hologram shows probable space lanes and also like avennues of attack, "I have run through a few simulation based on the forces that have previously attacked the planet from space. The flight paths they used." He shows these events in a overlapping field which leaves traces of the flight paths, the whole thing sped up to run in a matter of minutes." He nods, "What I have been considering is large emplacements places in the asteroid belt, numerous enough to be difficult to sabotage all of them and, well, quite frankly large enough to be effective against capitol ships from the distance of a few light minutes. These would be beam weapons and most likely rail guns. It is a defensive strategy but might be an effective deterrent. Keeping large ships away from Earth."
