Felicity Smoak has posed:
Spring is springing, and while today is a work day (technically) not everyone can be found in their place of employ. When this happens, and on a balmy day like today, it's usually because the said employee is outside, actually enjoying it. One person in particular who has been more of a ghost at work, and in the Cave is the blonde wonder-tech, maker of viruses, typist of doom. It's been sort of odd, if one was to notice.

Felicity pretty much doesn't expect anyone to, to be very honest. Everyone has their lives, which is fine. Understandable. And some days, it seems as if the 'crew' has moved on.

Felicity is dressed down in yoga pants and a crop-top with a gold 'chai' necklace that falls just below her collarbone, her choice of ensemble courtesy of one Thea Queen, showing off the fact that she's //not// some overweight basement dweller- the room is airy and well lit. An underscore to that. Doesn't mean that she's not drinking a soda (diet, thank you) as she pads across the room to finally actually address the bills that sit upon her cleared counter. Her television is on, giving some noise to the room; added company.

Thea Queen has posed:
Spring is springing, which means Thea is Queening as proper Queens do. And what's a good day of Spring without being enjoyed with a good friend?

Not a good day!

So here is Thea arriving at the doorway to Felicity's apartment. And ..., perhaps she dressed up a bit too much? The gold-lined black top saying 'Valentino' a bit too much on the nose? Or the designer jeans that Gaultier promises are unique in the world? Well, at least she didn't go as exuberant with her shoes (in her mind, that is). Just a pair of high-heels Prada boots she had lying around the house. It's not even the first time she is wearing them!

The doorbell rings. Once, then again. At the same time a message pops on Felicity's phone.

> Open up, I know you are home.

Felicity Smoak has posed:
How does one hide from Thea? The answer is simple.

One doesn't.

One can't.

It's in a million different things, really. The television is turned on, and turned up, the vibrations of her footpads across wooden floor can probably be picked up by that one, all without tech!

The television within falls silent, just as the text comes on Felicity's phone, the soft vibration on her counter making a soft *buzz* as it announces the message. With a sigh, Felicity puts down her bill and picks up the phone, staring at it for a long moment before she types quickly, with two hands.

<Door's locked but come in anyway.> As if a locked door can stop Thea? Come on. <Hope you brought ice cream.>

Turning to face the door, she'll wait only a couple of seconds, setting the phone down in the meantime.

Thea Queen has posed:
Door locked? Well, ain't that a test? And drat, she knew she had forgotten to bring a proper gift with the urge to come meet her friend. Oh, well. Thea wouldn't be Thea if she didn't know just the perfect place that will deliver them ice cream. So she takes out her phone to begin doing just that while her other hand works on the lock. It's multitasking at it's finest! But she has trained with the best.

So as a few seconds pass by? There's a click heard on the lock, then a turn of the handle.

"What flavors do you want? Dark chocolate as per usual? Or shall we get daring?" Thea walks in like a 'wrecking ball', full on diva even if there's a sincere smile on her lips, ".. Mmmm, vanilla-saffron?" a beat, "Strawberry flavor? Well, it's not the season but ...." she nods, "Strawberry ice cream."

It's all a facade that Felicity may know well. The putting up that diva mask to hide the loneliness underneath. Because she certainly can count with her fingers the friends she has that aren't just interested in her money.

Felicity Smoak has posed:
Felicity takes up her phone and pads into the living room, folding her legs under her as she settles onto one of her couches as the *clicks* come from the door's tumbler. The door opens to reveal a rather dressed up (well, for her) Thea, and she smiles, pushing up her glasses at the same time. "Hey." The phone is stashed to the side, and she is offered the flavor choices.

"That," the word is pointed, "depends on what we're in the mood for. What you're in the mood for. Chocolate is drowning tears." She ticks off her fingers, those blue eyes following the progress of her best friend across the threshold. "Strawberry is for chick flicks and ugly crying." She's mostly teasing, and when Thea is fully in the room, she rises to her feet once more.

"I'm not sure I have it in me to go out."

Thea Queen has posed:
"All I hear is crying..." Thea turns her nose a bit at it, looking thoughtful, hand on hip while the other continues to peruse the selection on her phone. "Fine, I am getting the degustation menu. Which will have a bit of this, that ..., and ..." she is swiping a lot on that phone of hers, "Ah yes, perfect.." she nods at herself with a grin.

"Going out?" She then cocking her head to the side, "No no, the Ice cream is coming to *us*, not the other way around." the marvels of uber eats and all those delivery companies! "I hope your fridge is large I may have uh .., ordered a lot." as Thea usually does.

"What do you mean you don't have it in you to go out?" A brow quirks, then another look around the apartment. Is she looking for traces of a certain someone? Maybe! Or maybe just looking to check out her friend's apartment, because she really hasn't been over at all.

Felicity Smoak has posed:
Felicity makes a tight-lipped face that holds just a ghost of a smile. "It's my life, but someone's gotta live it, right?" She exhales in a sigh and quick-waves, "Five cent tour. There are only four rooms. Here, the kitchen," she gestures towards an open kitchenette; not large, but enough for one person. "In the back is the bedroom and bathroom is just down the hall there. Nothing fancy." But it is well decorated, at least within her means.

"I don't know what to get for comedy. Cookie dough?"

Felicity swings back around to the living room. There's no hint, no sign or suggestion that Slade's been here for a little while. That strange, 'happy' Felicity is exchanged for the more normal, the more familiar 'regular', self-deprecating Felicity. One that wears yoga pants and a crop shirt, walking barefoot in her apartment, categorizing ice cream.

"My fridge.." Oh no. "Oh, no Thea.. I have a roast, and.." No, no no no..

The blonde is pulling out said roast and setting it into the refrigerator, off to one side before she shifts some of the other things. "Define 'a lot'. Like, a lot to me, or a lot to you? Because a lot to you, is maybe a little more than I can fit, or we can eat."

The freezer is settled, and she gives the appliance a dubious look, murmuring, "You better be enough," before she turns to her friend. All dressed up! "You look.. amazing. Like, really amazing. Maybe we shouldn't waste that?" Brows rise behind the frame of her glasses as she pulls blonde hair back, and in digging into a pocket, finds a hair tie to wind the back into a messy bun. "I mean, I could do it for you. I'll be your wingman, and keep you out of trouble." Or.. "Or, we could stay in and have root beer floats with cookie dough ice cream."

Thea Queen has posed:
"Well, the order is out so ...., we eat first before we decide for any further plans." Thea states, the phone being put away while she takes the tour of the house. She considers on what to say for a moment, because all she can think is 'quaint', but that's not something she would want to say. So she settles with, "This place is very you." which is true!

"But ...," and she looks at her friend more closely. "Seems to me we are in the strawberry territory, mmm? Fine, I can abide with a little crying while you tell me all about what's going on with your life and ..." she gives it a moment of pause before adding, ".. well, you know I am here for you right?"

This is of course before she almost preens at the praise on how well she is dressed up, "It's a beautiful spring day so of course I dress up and wait .., what do you mean keeping me out of trouble? I never get into trouble.." Uh-uh. She shakes her head, "But no, I think today is a staying home and prying it all out of Felicity day."

She goes back to the living room to look around, "And if the ice cream doesn't fit. Well, we won't let it go to waste. Now, what should we watch? Shakespeare in love? Lala land?" uff, she is pulling out the heavy weights!

Felicity Smoak has posed:
There is most definitely bits and bobs of her chosen field; there are a couple of computers dotted around the apartment, not to mention carefully hidden CCTV cameras. Thea could easily spot them, knowing Felicity as she does. Easy guesses!

"Uh uh.." but she takes the compliment in the spirit in which it's given. Not up to Thea's style, certainly, but as far as suiting? "I was thinking of decorating in early 90s grunge, but I figured the city already had that. I didn't want to look that desperate." She's kidding! Really!

Wandering back to the living room, Felicity picks up a remote on the way back and points it at the screen. How old school! Still, it works. The television blinks on, showing a menu item choice of streaming channels. She glances back to her best friend and smiles tightly, though she's not angry. She's .. resigned. It's harder to keep things in when one is eating ice cream and watching movies. "Let's go for strawberry. Shakespeare in Love works."

There, though.. Felicity's pushed the right buttons, and the response gained from Thea is met with a quick, genuine smile. Her hand, still holding the remote, rises to gesture, underscoring her words, "My wardrobe still works for this spring, so no shopping. And Thea Queen, you can get into trouble no matter where you go. That's why you need me." Even if she's running backup miles away!

"Oh.. and I'll be heartbroken if the ice cream doesn't fit and we have to eat it immediately. Really. I mean, no. Really." She gestures towards the couch again, "Take a spot. I'll at least fill you in on a couple of things before it all gets here. Then, maybe I'll have it out of my system, and we can move to cookie dough later."

Thea Queen has posed:
The decision for strawberry and Shakespeare in Love is met with a, "You have chosen .., wisely." Thea nodding her head sagely at her bestie before she ambles over to the couch to settle down. Well, sort of a sprawl really. Because how else do you watch movies with your friends? Certainly not with your back straight and leg crossed!

"Wait, what do you mean with *this* Spring? Your wardrobe is from last year?" Thea's eyes widen. It's the kind of thing that needs an intervention, so she picks up her phone, fiddling with her agenda, "We will go out shopping tomorrow." and then the phone is away.

"Now, time to fill me in." Because no matter how much she may enjoy watching Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Fiennes on the big screen her attention will be mostly on Felicity, as it should be. Her eyes say the same in that warmth that usually takes time to come out with people. But with Felicity? It's there.

Felicity Smoak has posed:
Dear Thea, wise beyond her years! The pronouncement is met with a laugh and she nods slowly, her head bouncing. "Learn from the best."

Felicity pulls a blanket from off the back of the couch and bundles it up into a ball for a proper lean. Sprawling is important, and in this case, her casa is Thea's casa.

"Last year.. and oh, no you don't." Felicity does make the half-hearted and amused dive for the phone, just to try and keep Thea from moving things around and making room for a typhoon-class shopping spree. Her bank account can't handle it, and this is //not// why she's friends with the slightly younger woman. Heck, she's not even friends because she'd been crushing on the big brother. Nope! "No. It's okay. The colors are almost the same, and no one is going to look at me and say, 'Oh, there goes poor Felicity, dressed in last years fashion. What will they say in Cannes?'."

Lost cause, however. Felicity is filled with lost causes, and pulling her legs up so she can get a more natural sprawl, a perfect positioning for ice cream for when it is delivered, she pulls off her glasses to rub and dig at her eyes. It's when the glasses are replaced that she goes for the 'doesn't matter anyway' sort of tenor, "Didn't really work out." Short, sweet, and underlined. "You know how he is. It was nice, though." She pauses before adding, "While it lasted." She shifts her position and looks at her friend, that game smile trying to make itself known. "So, back to square one. It's fine. Though the flowers were nice. And the promises that I almost believed."

Thea Queen has posed:
"It's already done." Thea says in that Thea-way of there's no way that Felicity is escaping the shopping spree. They are good for the soul anyway. Specially when there's big money involved. "Besides, I know the best places to do a small revolution in your wardrobe." one imagines...

"I do know." Thea then focusing on the more serious matter at hand, eyes up and watching Felicity's, lips pressed to a thin line, "I did like the smile you had on your face though.." during that time, she means. She lets out a sigh, "I feel I should had went with chocolate considering how the convo is going. Specially as I recently got separated from my paramour. Sometimes it just doesn't work." a beat, she brushing one hand through her hair. And ahah! Apparently she had her own reasons to come visit Felicity, maybe share her own woes where it comes to love! Because you can't spell Queen without Drama.

The kind of Drama that will take a hefty amount of Strawberry chocolate and 2 hours of movie to get through it all as the duo shares their experiences. And then the crying. But not ugly because Queens only cry cutely.
