Location: Madison Square Garden
Synopsis: Spider-Woman saves Detective Dick Grayson from the icy clutches of Killer Frost!
Cast of Characters: Jessica Drew, Dick Grayson

Jessica Drew has posed:
The scrape of metal on ice, to a trained ear, would tell you how well a person skates. Jessica, with her eyes closed, can distinguish between the different levels of skaters out today - there is the chunk chunk of the beginner and the long high sizzled glide of an accomplished skater interspersed with the honed sharp lift into a turn of the expert.

Nostalgia brought Jessica out on the ice today and the need to be surrounded by people but alone in the crowd. She wears a thick cabled button-up sweater over a bright red woolen tunic atop leggings and rented skates - her shining black hair swings in a loosely caught up ponytail. Waiting for a break in the line of circling weekenders, she watches for a moment then pushes out, her skates making friends with the ice. Muscle memory returns after a few short glides then becomes the hiss of an athlete on familiar terrain.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Dick just needed to get his mind off of things for a while. After dealing with another round of what are you going to do about the Titans, the former leader of the group just wanted to take off his mask for a while. Gliding across the ice in a pair of rental skates, Dick is dressed down in a pair of blue jeans, a form fitting black sweater, and gloves and scarf. He's not showing off, just gliding along and turning on occassion. He's an acrobat by nature, and the ice is not his usual habitat. He breezes by the young woman that just took to the ice, giving Jessica enough room so that she can make her own start as he advances ahead.

Meanwhile, at the box office, a new figure approaches. "One admission please."

"That'll be nineteen fifty." the box office attendant offers, before he looks up and sees the woman in front of him that looks like she is carved from the ice itself. Or just blue enough to be very dead.

"No, I don't think I'll be paying that. In fact, you, and everyone inside is going to be paying me." Killer Frost purrs, taking the heat right out of the attendant's body before she makes an ice field to shatter the glass and reaches in to grab the box of cash and saunters into the arena. And up to where the DJ is playing music for people to skate to. "Attention everyone! You will go to your lockers, and empty them out. I only want the cash and jewelry. And if you don't listen..." Frost aims her hands and spikes of ice lance through the zamboni, ripping it apart.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Just relaxing into the rhythm of long glides, Jessica takes a deep contented breath, following behind the handsome man in blue jeans. A sound skitters across the relaxation, the dull sound of thick glass breaking and that is knifed with the clunk of someone grabbing a microphone and getting feedback before the announcement.

Around her skaters collide with one another as they come to an abrupt halt, creating little pile ups on the ice. A cell phone clatters to the ice as a spear of ice splinters metal and machine on the side of the rink.

"Merde," she mutters catching sight of the woman making the announcement.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Sliding to a halt near Jessica, Dick kicks up a small stream ice flakes and water as he glances up at the DJ booth and his lips pull into a thin line. This is not what he wanted to do today. The sound of the zamboni being rended apart by thick ice spikes only causes him to gain his focus.

"Now I want you one at a time, go up to the lockers, empty out your wallet and purse and then return to the ice! Anyone tries to call the cops, you're going to end up colder than a Totino's pizza roll." Killer Frost declares.

Reaching into his back pocket, Dick decides to go ahead and shatter one of Frost's illusions as he takes out his badge as he helps a child up before skating to the edge of the ring near the DJ booth. "I'll make a deal with you!" he calls out to her as he holds up his badge. "I'm a member of the Bludhaven Police Department, let the others go, I'll stay right here." he promises as he moves to the edge of the ice. Frost comes down to look at the man, looking him over. "You're a little out of your jurisdiction, ain't you... Detective Grayson." she says, reading the badge after snatching it from Dick's hand. Then she pauses, looking at it. And then back at Dick, and flips the wallet over to a more personal picture. "Thought I recognized you. You're Bruce Wayne's kid."

Dick winces. He hadn't planned on playing that paticular card, but he holds up his hands. "Guilty as charged. Let's make a deal. Let them go, Bruce will pay whatever randsom...."

"Oh, I know you, pretty boy has a trust fund. I don't need him. I'll just empty your account. Rest of you, get outta here before I change my mind. You..." She causes the ice to crawl up Dick's legs to hold him in place. "...start making with the money transfer."

Dick lets out a cry of pain as he feels the blood freezing in his legs, but at least he's buying time for the others.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Around her gasps echo along with the muffled wail of a child being tightly held in the arms of an angry frightened parent. Every word of the exchange between the ice wielding thief and the man she had skated behind comes clearly to her, spider senses at maximum as she goes into high alert.

Jessica backs up to the edge of the ice and sits down quickly. Nimble fingered she unlaces her skates and then neatly sets them aside. Crouching low she pushes a man out of her way to make a dead run for the booth around the circular railing that separates spectators from the rink. She is counting on the woman's focus being on her victim.

Dick Grayson has posed:
As others are heading out of the rink quickly, Dick is going nowhere. He seems to be frozen in place! "So when someone says Netflix and chill? This is not what I have in mind..." he offers, his teeth chattering as he waves a hand behind him, trying to convince the others to get out of the arena quickly. They can keep on their skates, he doubts that there will be complains on it.

As he works on the phone, he catches a movement out of the corner of his eye and notices the girl he had passed on the ice earlier passing by him on the ice. Now he wishes he had paid more attention to her.

But he knows he has to keep the focus on him. "So I assume you're not gonna use this for a trip to the tropics? I hear the Bahamas are nice...."

Killer Frost cuts him off by quickly leeching heat from his body, and he hisses in pain. "Maybe noone explained my power to you, Detective Dick... you see." she explains. "I'm a heat vampire. I turn the heat around me into cold air. So in a way, you being full of fucking hot air is just helping me." she hisses. "Now, numbers, or they'll be calling you Detective Dickless!"

There's a sharp gasp and chattering of teeth as Dick tries to keep it together. "I have to get logged in... t-t-these things take a few minutes, with t-t-two factor au-authentication and... maybe a hot cocoa to heat me up?" he asks.

The hot cocoa is on the other side of Jessica - he's tryng to keep Frost from looking in that direction as she sneaks.

Jessica Drew has posed:
There is no question of a fair fight with someone who would as soon freeze a person's legs off as look at them. Killer Frost had not reckoned on someone else with mutant abilities being in the rink. Jessica takes an instant dislike for blonde woman's icy eyes and colder expression. She keeps it to herself making no announcement of her presence. With a super human leap, the young woman lands crouching behind the frozen tableau of tormentor and iced man, extends her hands as though begging them to stop and releases a 'venom blast'. Bio-electric energy that is fueled by anger at the cavalier disregard for the zamboni and the good-looking man holding his phone arcs through the air searing into the Killer Frost's back.

Dick Grayson has posed:
"Alright, just a second here, and you'll get what's coming to you..." Dick offers as he works on the phone. He taps at it a few times, and Killer Frost gets more and more frustrated. Finally, the woman has just about enough and she reaches out, snagging the phone from the detective and glares. "What is this?!"

"Solitaire?" Dick offers innocently.

"You're a dead man, Detectiv---AGH!" she doesn't get a chance to say much else as Jessica strikes from behind and the venom strikes slam into the shoulders of Killer Frost. The electricity arches over her and she slumps, turning on Jessica. "I'm gonna bleed you dry, you bitch..." she growls, fighting the effects of Jessica's highly effective blast as she starts to lower the temperature around the mutant woman...

...just as a phone flies in and strikes Frost in the back of the head, knocking her to the ground and finishing the groundwork that Jessica had been so effective in setting up. "Oh wow, it really is a brick." Dick offers lamely, arms wrapping around himself to try to warm himself and his legs move, shaking back and forth as he tries to free himself from his icy prison.

"You alright?" he asks Jessica in concern, and this his cheeks darken. It's not just from the cold. The attractive woman just saved his life after all.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Very few beings in the world can withstand a full 'venom' blast, a mix of surprise and secret admiration for the evil woman's stamina raises Jessica's eyebrows. Eyes narrowing, Jessica lifts her hands, ready to blast the woman pivoting towards her. A stunned look widens the blond woman's eyes when she receives the brunt of a well-thrown cell phone in the back of her head and sinks to the ground.

Lowering herself to one knee, Jessica checks the thief's pulse, then leans to recuperate the man's cell phone.

"Are you alright? You've quite the pitching arm on you!" Rising gracefully, she goes to the man's side to offer an arm to steady him.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Killer Frost is down for the count. She's... out cold? Chilling out? Either of those work for you? She's not going anywhere, Jessica successfully put her on ice.

I'll show myself out.

Dick watches Jessica as she tends to the downed super-villain and then she's focused on him, and he laughs a little. "Lucky throw -- I didn't want her to freeze you out." he comments as he finally frees his leg from the ice and leans on her for a moment. Does she smell super nice for some reason? Steadying himself, he shakes one leg and then the other. "Here I thought that we had already thawed out for the winter." he mutters. "I think I'm good. Or will be once I warm up a little. Thanks for the help. Not sure how much longer I could have stalled her."

And he lifts his blue eyes to look into Jessica's on. "I think this is where I swoon and go, 'My hero'?"

Jessica Drew has posed:
As Jessica offers him her arm, she looks over at the supine woman with pretended concern, and says straight faced, "She's very chillax cooling her heels like that."

Gaze sweeping from the woman at their feet to the man's blue eyes, she pauses, forgetting her train of thought. A beat. "Not the standard way for one to break the ice," she replies bemused, her Oxfordian accent quite prim. "Ah, you're welcome. Any time?"

Dick Grayson has posed:
Oh great, she has an accent too? Dick's hand settles on her arm, the squeeze gentle but comforting as the Detective recovers his phone and badge. "This is a little out of my jurisdiction. But I can get it phoned in. So... you got a name, or are you going to make me stay with beautifully amazing woman that saved my life?" he asks her with a teasing and warm smile as he considers her. "After we get done filling out reports and such... I feel like I should do something to reward you. That's what you do in these cases, right?"

Her comment about breaking the ice gets Dick to laugh, amusement dancing in his eyes as he slides his hands back before he feels like he's lingering too long. "Her slip up was focusing on me, and that was just the tip of the iceberg." he offers with a grin at her. "Unless of course the puns are totally blowing any chance of charming you?"

Jessica Drew has posed:
"I suggest that you phone it in whilst I recover my shoes," she wiggles her wet stockinged toes. One black eyebrow hooks in a question. "Should we wait for the police? It might be hard to explain how we put her on ice."

A smile tugs at one corner of her mouth, "Yes, I do have a name as I imagine you do, too. I shan't make you stay with me though a hot cocoa might be in order once I'm shod again."

Relenting she offers him a firm, dry hand albeit a bit cold, "No more of the cold shoulder - Jessica Drew. Pleased to meet you." Conspiratorially, she murmurs, "The punnier, the better."

Dick Grayson has posed:
"Oh, I think I like you, Jessica Drew." Accepting the hand, the detective smiles. "Dick Grayson." he offers in way of greeting as he gives her a little, but firm shake. "Let me get changed into my shoes and you can decide what a reasonable reward is for saving me?" comes the amused question as he watches her, and his cheeks darken again. Stop staring at her, she already knows she's pretty.

Going to sit down on the bench, he moves to change from his skates to his shoes. "Technically, we /should/ wait..." then he gives her a grin, and decides. "But if it means that I get a few extra minutes in your company, I think I am more than willing to risk missing out on the paperwork." he decides, once he's got his shoes on and offers his hand to Jessica. "If you're ready?"

Jessica Drew has posed:
Seated next to him as she slips her shoes on, smiling,"I bet you say that to all the women that rescue you." She is not as aware of the affect of her beauty as he might imagine, she places more importance on other things. "But, I wonder what a reasonable reward would be? Perhaps something nicer than instant cocoa. We'll let the rink people handle the paperwork and go grab ourselves something hot to melt the ice."

Looking up, Jessica takes his hand and rises, "Deal?"

Dick Grayson has posed:
Well, the beauty may be the bait, but she's been charming and wonderful, and Dick can appreciate those things. Accepting the hand to help Jessica up, he gives her a warm grin. "I'll let you pick the place." he decides with a bob of his head. "And no, you can go outside of a cop's salary, I can handle it."
