Mental health day
Date of Scene: 14 May 2022
Location: Ororo's Attic
Synopsis: Ororo invites Tabby by the attic to talk about her recent traumas. They both agree Tabby should be a team leader. Canon.
Cast of Characters: Ororo Munroe, Tabitha Smith

Ororo Munroe has posed:
The Attic where Ororo lives could be considered 'inside' only because it has four walls. There's space enough up here that she doesn't feel the crushing weight of her inherent claustrophobia and she can almost always be found out on the balcony when the weather permits. (which is subjective considering she's Storm). That is precisely where she would be found tonight, leaning on the banister staring out into the clear sky above the mansions grounds where bright flashes of light cross across the purple canopy with white blips of stars.

A glass of wine is absently turned against the wooden banister by one hand while the other traces the intricate woodwork with the end of a fingernail. The shoke of white hair is tied back out of her face, wearing clothing better suited for sleeping than star gazing, she still manages to look rather magestic. As if nothing could seperate her from the regal demeanor she wears so very easily.

As always, her door is unlocked.

All are welcomed, but she's extended an invitation to one in particular tonight.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabby might barely be a blip on the Psionic list. But one thing that has been happening that you dopn't need to be a psychic since she and the others in the X-Louge saw the rather unpleasant video of the girl's father while Tabby was investigating her own last attempted abduction. And a lot of the other trauma that she's been dealt, pgsycial and mental.

The amount of love others have outpoured for the young woman. Which has been great for the extra anger and self loathing bubbling away. So she's been incrdeasingly chill. There's still other parts of Tabby's personality that floats on top. The snarkiness, the loyalty and the love she has for her family that is the X-Men slash New Mutants.

The invitation gladly accepted. And peeking into the attic with a knock because just cause the door is unlocked doesn't mean you should barge in and Tabitha has been yeeted out of windows and roofs many a time but others as a testament to that hard learned lesson.

Thankfully she doesn't have to water the plants and risk flaring up allergies that affects a lot of people from Virginia.

"Hey Ororo, just me! Miss Motormouth Smith!" she calls out to the woman on the balcony with a hand pushing her glasses back up on her nose as she steps inside fully, bumping the door close with a hip.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
The gentle knock before Tabby's audible entry draws Ro's storm-cloud gaze and equally gentle smile of greeting, "Salamu, Tabby." The glass she'd been nursing for well over an hour carries with her back into the open living space. Padding quietly on barefeet to meet the troubled young woman halfway between entrance and balcony exit.

"It's good to see you are up on two feet." Depositing her glass after another sip, she opens her arms outward as if the intention is rather clear to extend an embrace upon the other woman. While not devouring her younger counterpart, it is still enveloping should she not balk away from it.

"And you well know that your 'motored mouth' is always welcomed here."

Tabitha Smith has posed:
"I swear I heard squeaks after the last animal tried to eat me. Or was it the wolves. The pigs I'm fuzzy on but you know I really can't tell what was the worst thing to happen to me these last couple months." the blonde girl says while stepping into the hug and returning it to the taller woman.

Shoes left outside leave feet in comfy pink socks that match the tank top that barely covers her. Yellow jeans handle her lower halkf while pink spiky leather is cinched around her neck and slinging from a single belt loop in her waistband.

"Just glad I have my own feet. Some of those folks at the fair are going to need a lot of help dealing. That was just ugh. I'm still on antibiotics." she states and shudders.

"When I got my brain back I felt dirtier than I ever did on the streets, And that's after  showeringoff poop and poop chute." she states.

"And that stuff is maybe on the streets. God. I know I'm having problems but I don't wanna miss blowing the guys that did that to us to bits." she states. The investigation into the Dox-M site already taken off her.

Her versus human racists a real bad idea right now.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
A hand comes up to rub the back of Tabby's head comfortingly with the warm touch of Ororo's cheek pressing gently against the girls as the horror story she'd most recently livd through is recounted in an abridged format. There were really no words that she could say that would ever take away the deep traumatic experience, but what she could offer was understanding and love.

With a quiet sigh, she slipped backwards and motions towards one of the comfortable couches positioned around the open room. "I've often heard it said that when you plot revenge you should dig two graves..." Cloudy white eyes look upon the woman with an almost playful smirk, "I think that would be a gross underestimation of your abilities."

She leads the way to the couch and settles down into it with her right leg pillowed beneath her. "Have you spoken with Jean about what you went through? I'm certainly willing to listen, for as long as you wish to speak, about anything you wish to speak... but she's a therapist and may do you a great deal more good."

Tabitha Smith has posed:
The younger woman tilts her head as it's rubbed anbd caressed so it can rest on a shoulder. Easier for the height difference the weather goddess has over the blonde. Wamth and comfort aplenty and Tabby mmms happily.

"I've also been getting a lot of "Just as bad as them"." Tabby adds to the mention of revenge. "You'd be right. I could fit a lot more bodies in the holes I'd make. And there's a risk it could be our family I bury by mistake." the possibility of collateral damage is an ever present risk with Tabitha's powers. The desire to not hurt people she cares about always a conscious worry.

"Wish I could manage your almost Zen approach. But I also really wish I didn't have to hold back sometimes. My power wants to be used. And it still sucks that it tied to my other wants as well." One of the many reasons she's dabbled in substance abuse. Drinking. The bong she totally doesn't have in her room. A good nights sleep often a slog. And there's other ways she could carelessly hurt someone besides explosions.

The couch is shared and Tabby wriggles about so she can snuggle with head on shoulder still.

"Just about everyone else but Jean. But she's got a school to run. Kitty's doing the haxxor thing on the Doxxing. But everyone else has been great. Reminding me I've got family, love and all that. So you know, keep that  ballrolling!" she says and beams up at Ororo blue eyes to blue eyes.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo rolls her eyes playfully at the way Tabby peers up at her, but doesn't skimp on the offer of comfort. Her arm closes around the blondes shoulder to hold her and the other comes up to gently caress her cheek with her nails gnetly drawing down along her jaw, "Of course your power wants to be used. All of our powers want to be used.. They're part of us, but we're equally part of them. It's no different than hormones." The Weather Goddess says in a quiet voice as she soothingly casts adoration upon the other woman.

Whatever to help her nerves settle and remind her that her family is with her.

"They want to be obeyed, but you have to know when and how. You have to be responsible. That's why we stress control so heavily and why you go through such rigorous training in their understanding, along with usage." She turns enough that her cheek brushes Tabby's forehead to plant a soft kiss to the crown of her head.

"What happened to you was terrible and it's true what some might say... that seeking revenge would make you no different than them. But the reality is rather complicated because these people do not have redeeming qualities. They are human in form alone and treat us, humans the same as they, as toys they can play with." There's no mistaking the crack of lightning in her voice. The subtle static of electricity that has hair starting to stand up along the arm and neck.

"They've hurt my family and woe be unto those who dare tempt the Tempest. The rain can bring life, but with every rain there's thunder and on that thunder is the cleansing promise of judgement in lightning. If they wanted to live in peace, they failed in their goal. But if it was to get my attention?"

"They have... and they will regret it."

Tabitha Smith has posed:
The snuggling is made and Tabby is happy as she nuzzles cheek and jaw against nails and fingers. "They really aren't different in my case. Linked even. Kicked off the exact same time." There was a school missing a roof in it's cafeteria that can attest to that.

The teacher in Ororo doing her ting is listed to. "Hey I got the control down. Had to before I even ran from my dad." the kiss on her forehead getting more bright smiles. "It's just that final push to go a little further. Like the next bomb will be the one that does it. Just a little bigger, little more intense." she explains of herself.

The static is felt in the air. The blonde's power might be based in psionically controlled bio-electricity to ignite and control plasma but Storm's power makes her own charge seem like a double A  batteryin comparison.

"Thing about the people that hurt me. They might have people captive. They hurt more than me. I wanna see the bad guys hurt but I don't want to have it be at the cost of others, let alone you guys. There's risks in the job right but when you're like a lynchpin in the whole thing. Hope no one decides I should lead a team one day." she says and pulls that hold Ororo has on her closer.

"See you are totally an awesome teacher. Stuff sunk in!" she praises.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Who'd have thunk it.

Ororo peers down, or to the side anyways, at Tabby and smirks when she's the one to talk the teacher off the violent ledge. Never let it be said that even the zen like Storm is incapable of emotional outbursts, demure though hers may have been! "A source of surprise and wisdom that far out paces your years, dear." The fingers that had been tracing Tabby's jaw move so she can flick her thumb nail gently off the tip of the blondes nose.

"I'm sure Scott is already coming up with a hundred plans and Jean is busy at work as well. For now, we lick our wounds and try to heal so that when we 'do' go looking for them, we're in the best possible condition for that fight." Because she knows it will be.

This is not over by a long shot.

The foot that had been pillowed beneath her curls out to slide behind Tabby as she turns to make herself a pillow for the girl. "And I'm so very proud of you for listening." giving the validation in return for the praise. "We'll make a field leader out of you yet, Tabitha Smith."

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Proving the point Tabby has a dislike for hurting and discomforting loved ones she totally makse sure that that moving leg and the rest of Storm with is not poked by elbows or anything boney.

"Hey might be you on field lead for one of these missions. And last I checked you could do a good tactical stealthy plan like mad. Ex Thief. Game recognise game!" she points out with a tilt upwards of her head to smile while she brushes that ponytail out of hers and Ororo's way. The little yellow scrunchy and bow ribbon keeping it in place mostly.

Once both women are comfy Tabby grins and makes a mock expression of dread. "To me my X-Men!" she rolls about on her tongue and giggles. "Nah. Doesn't sound have as badass when I say it."Somewhere else, Scott and the Professor both felt a sense of dread at the same time she spoke.

"I do my best. Least I managed to get my highschool diploma. Maybe two years later than it should but she did it. Which should be an accomplishment for her as much as her teachers, Storm included. Dealing with the brain that was Tabby. ADHD and two years away in Genosha not the best for furthering or completing an already disrupted education by being on the streets.
