Spice, Not Heat! But Maybe a Little!
Date of Scene: 16 May 2022
Location: Main Kitchen
Synopsis: Chicken is shared. Future summer plans pondered.
Cast of Characters: Tabitha Smith, Rogue

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Some things are still a suprise to a lot of people. One of them is that Tabitha has a paying job. She waits tables and tends bar at Harry's Hidewaay. Sure the hours are flexible and Harry is okay with Tabby doing the hero thing as long a sshe doesn't blow the bar up so it means she can earn some money for all those brightly colored clothes.

One benefit. Sometimes the kitches make too much food. And Tabby got the short straw of victory to bring home the goods.

Hotwings, with varying values of hot. There's some loaded up foil trays on one of the benches while Tabby in work uniform. It's just a tank top and bluejeans. Actual normal if lovingly faded Levi's. Her hair pinned up in a bun via pencils. Usual glasses and spiky belt and chokers aaccessorrising as much as sensible white sneakers.

To one side of a tray there's a couple plates. One thatr has a couple plates. she seems to be shredding some of the less spicy wings to get chicken off the bone.

The fridge already has a few more trays so lunch next morning is catered for it seems for the lucky few fast enough.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is at the kitchen table with her laptop sitting on it. She's got her aviator sunglasses up on her hairline holding her white bangs off of her face a little with their gold limbs going back in to her hair. She's wearing a green tshirt withh 'ROGUE' on the chest in black letters. It's actually a weight lifting company, or something, but she gets gifted the clothing from them from people being clever.

Blue jeans and heeled boots make up the rest of her attire, with a pair of gloves folded on the table beside her.

She looks up after a moment to see Tabi and shoots her a smirk. "What ya got there?" She asks. "Some left overs?" The Belle asks before looking back to her computer screen.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha in her distractedness is almost oblivious to the Southern Belle's presence. This is a sign of how ubiquitous family can be. They can do their own things and it's no big. But that don't mean you ignore someone when they call your name so Tabby perks and grins.

"So. As a college senior you're well aware that summer and all that and kids coming home. Had a bunch come into work tonight and they all seemed to have the same prank. Order a shit load of food. Then bail before it's served. Wastes food and money. Pisses Harry off waaaaaaaaay more than trashing the place." she says and lifts up one of the trays with a grin. The drive from the bar to the school is minutes in the single digits so the trays are still hot. Even in the pyrokinetic's hand. One of the reasons Tabby gets tapped for kitchen help.

Anyway. It was so much and no one really wanted to throw it out so we drew straws. Technically I drew for Sam since they'd still end up here and ther did. So now we have snacky lunch stuff we don't need to cook with the rest of the lunch menu." Tabby explains then goes back to stripping the wings which really look more like mini drumsticks instead of chicken wings. Into a plate and setting the bones on another for disposal or composting or whatever happens to a lot of the food waste.

"Thisis for Jeeper and a few of the other pets. I swear I saw Scott's cat last week running around. But Tabbies." she grins. "Can kinda look alike at certain stages in their life. Let them have a treat. But no bones cause that's dangerous I read somewhere."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is typing something up on her laptop while listening to Tabi explain the food. "Damn." She quietly says. "Poor Harry. He puts so much in to all of that. Kids are the worst." She exhales then as she continues her work for a moment.

"I'll stop by there some time soon, and buy a bunch more stuff t'bring home, and i hope none'a the jackasses that did this were /from/ here." She notes before looking over again.

"Put three or four in a bowl for me?" She asks then with a grin.

"Best parta havin' people here who work at fooderies, is the meals they bring home. I kinda miss my job at the car hop from a couple'a summahs ago..."

Tabitha Smith has posed:
"You say that when their practically our age And there's like a year between us Anna-Marie. God I hit twenty one in two months. We got too much lawn to keep kids off of." Tabitha jokes. "If I go to Florida I'd rather Fort Lauderdale than Boca." she adds and piles up the plate. Some of the crispier breddings and batters and marinadeds picked at by hand.

"You do and I'll spring you your own lunch. Potato skins and all." she states and smiles to the skunk striped woman.

"The real best part. No cost of living overheads. The school covers roof, normally food outside what I stock in my own kitchen which is really just coffee cereal and snacks. And all them utilities you gotta adult about normally. What I make per hour plus tips and well. Considering how charming I am. Bet you were raking it in! The tips are great. I can stash most of it and draw when I need for gas or replacing clothes. Anc clothes is easy when you are the mistress of thrift shopping." she states and flexes with giggles.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just smirks at the words while she keeps typing whatever she's working on. She shakes her head slowly. "I had ... lets say... a lot of admirer's back then. I was makin' real good money in tips. Especially from the older fellas who are established, but ya know... old and hopelessly sad about not bein' young anymore." She glances to Tabi with a grin.

"That's actually when Remy brought me Jeepers. We'd seen him in a pet store window up north. He came t'pick me up after work one night, and had the dog in a present box. Was super adorable." She reaches for her drink cup beside her on a coaster.

"But yeah, that pink'n white car hop outfit, with the white roller skates? God. That's how ya make some decent cash for a youngin." Rogue says with a grin.

"So what are ya gonna do for your big birthday?" She asks next.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
"Anna-Marie. You still do. Know all about how much money some of those men can bring. Though. Mine were hardly gentlemen or you know gentle." Tabby won't elaborate on that.

"The weird thing for me here is is having had literally nothing not even clothes on my back at some points. Then coming here and feeling like I had everything. So now I feel rich despite on the grand scale a things and standing next to Monet, Betsy, Emma. Still dirt poor. You guys been reminding me rich ain't money when you got family!" Tabby beams to Rogue in proper apprteciative if annoying little sister mode.

"My birthday is like July Seventh. So big party is obviously three days earlier. On my day. Might get some good weed with my own ID and not Nancy. Get high, get drunk. See if anyone wants to dance through a girls night out. Floor, Table, Pole, or Lap. Will provide!" she jokes but does show off some of that dance training from her younger years with a roll of her hips in a slow circle.

"But might make the real next all of us party for a twentyfirst for Kitty since she's like two and a half weeks later." she ponders and plans with almopst evil intent. "The plate with shredded chicken grows and one of the foil trails gets emptier But will probably be replaced sooner or later with bits of loose chicken.

"Also very well aware of the power of a pink and white miniskirt!"

"We'll save some extra wings for Remy some of the ones with the actual hot spicy marinade. Don't tell him he's as much an influence on my good behaviors as much as you, Jean, Ororo and the others. The only man I know that can pull of pink!"

Rogue has posed:
"Yeah, that's true. Fourth'a July, and Kitty's big day too." Rogue comments before taking a sip of that lemonade that someone made her a little bit ago when she first arrived in the kitchen room. She smiles at some of what Tabi says. "Well I'm glad ya got an positive outlook on stuff like that." She comments with a glance toward the other.

"Remy is pure confidence. It's why he can pull off pink like he does. Well, that, and he's like a underwear model, all perfect amounta stubbly chin." She says, clearly fawning over her handsome male counterpart.

"He'll appreciate that though." She adds before exhaling and sitting back in the chair. She spares a glance toward the large windows over her shoulder, and to her left. "Damn, the sun is already down. Where'd the day go?" She just huffs out. "Last week. Almost over..." Her left hand goes up to take her sunglasses off her hairline then before she folds the limbs and sets them on the table.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
"What can I say. Makes taking some of the beatings I've had easier. The physcial ones at least." Tabby points out and grins though she does wince a little at the memories. Or possibly just her last few training sessions in the danger room and power effects that she doesn't talk about but everyone knows actually still hurts her and builds up.

They don't make fasionable bomb suits.

"I know right! I know I've been more girl crazy but yeah. Umm, unf anyone know his birthday? Might have to tie you up with ribbons and bows and give you to him. And help with  unwrapping. It's thethough that counts!" she says with a wink.

"Jean too cause I totally ship that more. But gotta admit no girl is that gay around Remy." she states and chuckles.

"So when graduation hits. We got the school party. But you got plans otherwise? Proper done with formally education, diploma nailed to the wall. Alice Cooper on the speakers plan?"

Rogue has posed:
Another sip of her drink is had before Rogue stands up from the table and walks across the kitchen while Tabi speaks. She shows another sly grin at the other's words. "You're a trouble maker." She tells the other girl. "And this is comin' from someone who used t'be one'a the main troublemakers around here." Used to be.

At the fridge, Rogue gets in to the ice maker to put more cubes in to her cup of lemonade since the others had all melted away.

When she turns around she steps over to the counter to reach for one of the homemade chips that the Kitchen crew made earlier.

"I dunno what I'm gonna do this summah." She says. "I still gotta get with Jean t'figure out what the plans are this fall. I'll do whatever she feels is best. I can teach, or wait another year, whatever. It's not too big'a deal. Though I would like t'get my experience in sooner rather than later."

She chomps on the chip before sipping her drink again.

Her eyes go back to Tabitha then. "You gotta pick a lady and go get'em. You're too busy bouncin' off all the walls like this. Ya need someone t'have the funs with. Or... get back with James, cause I still think he misses ya."

That last part has her grinning a bit as she glances down to some homemade salza on the counter too... trouble.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
"It's a problem yes. I like to think I'm slowly dialing back. I'm only finding myelf throwing myself at only half the adult population. I'll take little improvements." Tabby states and chuckles. More admits really.

"Well if you don't know I mean if Jean won't kick me out she definitely won't kick your out. So chilling and being all help around and X-Woman badass like I do is fine. That's no rush. I like helping around here. Sure some of the rules really push my rebellious buttons but I care about folks enough to wanna be an X-Man and potter around scrubbing showers and stuff." she states and nods sagely. "And if you have a degree you can pay a lot more forward when you're ready.

"Yeah he does miss me, miss him and all those damn muscles and the super speed and strength and honestly he could pretty much just grab me by the neck." she flicks the ring in her collar and giggles. "And you know but I'mm. I'm a really shitty girlfriend in the long run. I know how I'm acting. And yeah I've seen a few girls and women here since I came back." she winks at Rogue there. definitelky trouble.

"Might also be that mix of being greedy, and maybe wanting to please everyone in as much ways as possible. Plus me being, me. I don't wanna hurt no one so settling down feels like it's gonna do that in the long run. Plus I kinda probably did more damage throwing myself at boys than I have at girls. So far."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue grabs the chips, and the salsa before she goes to the cabinet to dish herself out some in a little dipping dish, and a basket for chips. She sets them on a tray while she glances to Tabi and smiles at her.

"Well. You seem t'be happy, at least. So that is what matters most in the long run." The Belle says as she passes the other by on the way back to the table, getting that little selection of wings that Tabi made her too. "Ya should track Kitty down some time, and talk to her about a combined birthday party." She smiles while closing her laptop up.

"Though I imagine you an' her got pretty different tastes on how you'd like to celebrate such a thing. Which is why we can never decide on what kinda cakes t'get around this madhouse."

Rogue slips her computer back in to her bag then and slips it over her shoulder.

"Think I'm gonna go upstairs and watch a movie before beddie bye time."

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabby nods her head and grabs a smaller plate and piles some of that shredded chicken onto to it so Rogue can take it up to the good bois. "As long everyone else is happy. That's all that matters. I just you know stop at very little. Usually the word no. Or "Down girl" or the sound of landing in the lake." Tabby states. As for birthdays I still got a month and Kitty's in counselor mode still I think. She's probably enjoying being hacker girl again for all that stuff I dug up. Gonna suck not going on that but Ororo's right on the whole vengeances is two graves thing. Killing sucked the first time I did it and I don't really wanna do it again and I maaaaybe might not stop and messing racists up." she ponders. "I'll be poking Kitty. Probably also take over July Forth Celebrations!" she states. She is the fireworks.

"Don't hog the chicken. It's good. Save some for Jeepers!" she states and finishes putting stuff away and cleaning up her mess.
