Cast of Characters: Hope Summers, Monet St. Croix

Hope Summers has posed:
Sitting in the office, behind one of the desks, is the mutant known as Maggot. He was recently seen causing chaos and property damage on the school's front yard before being knocked unconscious in the resulting fight. He is still looking a bit bruised from that fight. However, now Eany and Meany, his two techno-organic slugs, were their regular size and sitting calmly on the desk. As he sits there, his hands rest on the table on either side of the slugs, but his hands continue to shake.

Meanwhile, Hope Summers was standing close to the door, resting her back against the wall watching the mutant before her. She thinks about the recent fight between Maggot, Deadpool, Tabitha Smith and herself. She had copied the powers of Tabitha towards the end of the fight, but that had worn off by now.

"Let me go!" Maggot demands

Hope shakes her head, "I can't do that yet, Japheth."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix is entering in and slowly eyeing Maggot. She's looking intimidating, in full uniform. She stands tall, imposing, and just slowly glaring at him. "We have a list of questions about your behavior and actions. Your actions put members of the school at risk. And children. You could have hurt them badly or killed them. I have litlte sympathy for your actions." She would keep her hands balled over into fists and take them to cross over her chest.

She's not reading his mind, yet. It's difficult for her to do so with someone that has strong willpower or a shielded consciousness. She's not well trained or experienced. But she can definitely play the part if need be.

Hope Summers has posed:
Maggot looks at Monet with a look of disinterest. However, Eany and Meany have turned their heads toward her. Monet can see that his pupils are slightly dilated, more than they should be. His skin is a little paler blue than the hue that his skin posses typically.

"Monet is here to help me get to the bottom of what happened," Hope says as she walks over and sits in the chair opposite. Maggot looks to Hope and away from Money.

"Eany and Meany are looking smaller than they were the other day. I'd say they were back to their normal size. The last I saw them, they were the size of a mini van. Far too big for them to sit on you. A couple of times, you were riding on their backs. It seems that that might have been due to a boost in your mutant powers. Do you want to talk about that?"

Maggot looks down at the two slugs in front of him, but doesn't say anything.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would glance down at the two and would shift her head back over to Maggot. "We are asking you because of ethics. Because we are obligated to. If you do not answer then we will push a litlte more. I am attempting to respect a degree of your autonomy. The others might have some issues but I do not. You put childre nat risk. I am hardly going to do something so uncouth as to hurt you."

Monet would slowly smile. "Physically." She goes to turn her head over towards Eany and Meany and then back over to Maggot. "But I am more than happy to pull things from your mind. Your betrayals. Your failures. Your lies. Your shames. Make you relive them one by one."

Hope Summers has posed:
Maggot still looks indifferent. Not concerned by what Monet is telling him would happen.

"You see, I have this theory... actually, it's more Tabitha's theory... that you are on something known as MGH. That, of course, is an abbreviation of mutant growth hormone. MGH is a substance that increases the powers of those who possess them, regardless of whether they are mutants or not. However, it also grants powers to ordinary humans.

It does have some side effects, unfortunately. Aggression is one common side effect. A side effect which I think you recently exhibited. Looking at you now, I believe addiction is one possible side effect.

So, as you can see, we cannot keep MGH on the streets. Can we Monet?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would shake her head, "No, we cannot." She would look down at Maggot, "And do you know how MGH is made, Maggot? It is made by mutants who are beaten brutally, tied down in restraints and are tortured. They are used as blood donors to have it made. Kept nearly cataonic with drugs, in eternal agony as meat puppets. You are directly enabling the torturing of your brethren. Their agony. It is on your hands just as much as it is the torturers that keep them as slaves. If you have so much as a conscience, you will help us find them. I you do not.."

Monet would ball back a fist, "Then I will put you in a state like they are. Cataonic. Unable to feel anything. Paralysed. Trapped within your own body. Unable to speak. A vegetable. Just drooling for all eternity."

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope turns to Monet, and she tries to suppress a look of startlement. This was the first time she had heard about how MGH was made. Tabitha had failed to mention the tortured mutants. Then she thought about the investigation that she had conducted with James Proudstar. They had gone searching the grounds of a carnival after it was found to have been feeding mutants to pigs. The carnival had links to a company called SMILE which hated mutants. Was this another ploy by them? Was SMILE trying to create superpowered individuals by using mutants to attack mutants? Yet, some how Maggot had managed to get hold of MGH, or perhaps he was the victim of experimentation.

"Japheth, please, how did you come across MGH? Were you experimented on? Were you given it? Just what is going on?"

Maggot was quiet for a moment, then he shoot his head, sighed and said, "No, I wasn't experimented on. Some guy gave it to me; he might have been a drug dealer. He told me that he had something that would increase my powers, making me a real superhero. I didn't think about what it was; I just took it. At first, I was just getting carried away with its effects. It creates a feeling of power. It's addictive. It was only later that I realised what it likely was. By that point, I was hooked."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would look down at Japheth, "We have treatment here that can help you with the addiction. It's something that the school can provide. Treatment, counseling, therapy.. If you wish to take advantage of them." Now that they've gotten what they wanted, Monet is toning down everything and putting on a look of sympathy. It's hard to tell if it's sincere or just the result of long practice at seeming like she can show empathy.

"We're going to need everything you can tell us. we need to track down who is doing this so we can stop them. Your information can help us save lives and rescue the mutants they're torturing."

Hope Summers has posed:
Maggot lets out another sigh as he lets his slugs crawl up his arms to his shoulders, "Alas, I cannot recall where I got the MGH from. My memories are fuzzy. Maybe it's another side effect or something else. I could not tell you what the guy looked like, nor where I met him."

Hope slumps back in her chair. She was under the belief that Maggot would be able to lead her to the source of the MGH. But perhaps this was a dead end.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would nod, "One of the telepaths here can perhaps help probe deeper and restore them. That would require one of more skill than I." She admits that it's not something she's capable of, which irritates her.

Looking at Hope, "You have the name of a dealer, which is something to follow up on."

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope thinks for a moment, "Well, then I think we are done for now. You may return back to the infirmary, Japeth. I hope you make a quick recovery. If you decide not to seek help, I strongly suggest that you stay on the school grounds."
