Cast of Characters: Laura Kinney, M'gann M'orzz, Conner Kent

Laura Kinney has posed:
Usually when X-23 takes over the kitchen it's to make some sort of weapons grade level of spicy dish or sauce. But today, thankfully, the Outsiders are spared from that particular tribulation. Instead she's taking advantage of the Dining area having plenty of functional furniture and being quiet outside of meal times.

And why? That's more of a mystery. But it seems to involve spreading a lot of surveillance photographs over one table while the other is covered in print outs of cell phone call records.

Laura herself seems to be deep in thought. Occasionally writing a date and time on a photograph before going back to the stacks of documents.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
"What are you doing?" Comes M'gann's voice curiously. Most people use things like elevators or stairs to travel between floors, but barring times when a concerted attempt at normalcy is needed, the green skinned redhead alien girl has never really seen the point. Instead she intangibly rises from the floor as she travels from her dwelling on the third floor to the recreation facilities on the fourth floor.

People in the kitchen area are bound to attract her attention after all, after Ahab's destruction in the NOWHERE invasion, her cooking is the only thing that stands between many of the Outsiders and a life of endless takeout and that just won't do. Sitcom mothers of the world do not approve!

She floats in the air behind Laura peering at the pictures and trying to make sense of them. In theory she could just read the other young woman's thoughts, but that is strictly against The Rules.

Laura Kinney has posed:
"The photographs are images of individuals who are involved in the sale of materials which can be used for mutant cloning experiments," Laura explains without looking up. Her keen senses might not be able to pick up on M'gann while she's phasing but the lack of warning before she speaks is in it's own way a confirmation of who has arrived. "I'm comparing them against phone call records for people I suspect may have connections with The Facility."

"If I see any potential links I'm marking the times for further investigations."

It's the sort of legwork that the Roosts computer systems could probably do automatically. Not that Laura has a reputation for sharing intel unless it's necessary for an operation!

Eventually she glances up at M'gann "Am I interupting your use of the dining area?"

Conner Kent has posed:
People uses the dining area, and sometimes at odd moments. Despite Ahab's unfortunate demise (man, when are Tim or Harper going to fix it) truth is some people appreciates M'gann's wholesome cooking and even Laura's dangerous cooking experiments. At least just as much as takeout pizza. Maybe a little more.

For instance, Conner.

"Hey Laura... and M'gann! I thought I had heard your voice," he smiles to the green skinned redhead. "I have barely seen you since, uh..." since they ended NOWHERE. Basically. It shouldn't be hard to say. "Well, what have you been up to?"

He glances at the pictures. Of course he heard. But he is checking to see if he recognizes anyone from is list of usual suspects.

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
M'gann nods her head slowly at Laura's explanation, still floating in the air behind her so as to better look over her shoulder. "Oh, I see. Well if you need any help just let me know!" She calls back as she floats over towards the kitchen to find something to drink. Not that she really needs to drink or eat for that matter, but she enjoys the experience.

Laura's question is greeted with a simple headshake as she retrieves a glass bottle of cola from the refrigerator. "No, no interruption at all. I just sensed someone was in here and decided to poke my head in." Her attention is then drawn briefly by the arrival of Conner. "Oh you know this and that, keeping busy." Definitely not figuring out how to contain dark emotions run amok.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Conner isn't going to see any faces he knows. None of the people Laura has been monitoring have criminal records let alone are on the radar of superhero groups. Even the deals she's been looking into are perfectly legal to make. It's just that it's perfectly legal to sell equipment you can use to make mutant super soldiers.

If you have the rights skill set anyway.

"I don't know if this line of investigation will lead to anything," she admits. "So while I appreciate your offer I don't know if it's worth involving anyone else at this stage." A shrug. "I hear Rose has returned to the Roost again?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"Something happened to you, M'gann?" Conner has been wrapped into his own problems for a while, but he has noticed the Martian girl is not as friendly and happy as she was the first months in the Roost. "If you need help, or just a friendly ear, please do not hesitate to ask for it. I mean... most of us have been in bad spots." He offers.

And then Laura derails his thought line asking about Rose. "Er... yeah, seems so. As usual without warning and being the usual weird about it." Sometimes he is not sure if Rose likes him or hates him, or them all. "I am worried she is back to try to follow her father footsteps. Although that she is here means she is not, right?"

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
"Has she?" M'gann asks, when the subject changes to Rose, twisting off the top of her cola. "I have yet to run into her. But then she's always been one to do her own thing." She gives a little shrug, Rose gonna Rose.

"No, no. I'm fine." She insists at Conner's questioning. "No problems here, one hundred percent A-Ok." She makes herself smile as if to prove the point.

Laura Kinney has posed:
"Her being here certainly suggests she doesn't intend to get caught," Laura notes earnestly. Not exactly the sort of glowing agreement Conner might have been hoping for. "I wouldn't like to say if she intends on killing anyone without speaking with her first."

She glances at M'gann, frowns, then sniffs the air out of habit. Sadly figuring out Martian emotional states by scent is beyond even the exceptional skills of her nose.

Besides she wouldn't be smiling if she weren't in a good mood. Right?

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner would agree M'gann was always very open and nice and the last person he would suspect would smile without being happy. Shows what he knows. Still, he resolves to pay more attention to the young Martian moods in the future. As Tim seems overworked lately.

"I had not considered Rose could come here to hide," grumbles Conner. "But... I doubt it. I mean, Batman would know if she has crossed a line, right?" Nevermind Batman regularly dates super-thieves and ninja assassins. Yeah, Conner has no idea.
