Feel the Fire when Training
Date of Scene: 04 June 2022
Location: The Velvet Room - Training Room
Synopsis: Gabby, Robbie and Danny meet at the training room. Danny and Gabby fight some techno-zombies for practice.
Cast of Characters: Gabby Kinney, Daniel Ketch, Robbie Reyes

Gabby Kinney has posed:
The benefit of a magical training room is that it can become anything you want it to be. It wasn't entirely disimilar to the Danger Room that Gabby had grown up using so it was easy enough for her to wrap her mind around. She's here already, and the metallic clank of weights being picked up and set down can likely be heard as others approach.

Gabby is laying out on a lifting bench wearing leggings, and a tanktop as she hefts a rather heavy bar overhead. For her small stature and figure she's lifting some decently heavy weight, though it is causing a strain for her as she does so. Her arms are trembling while holding outstretched above her head staring daggers at the bar as she clenches her teeth. It seems she may just be lifting till her arms give out if she's not careful.

Daniel Ketch has posed:
To say the truth when he heard 'magical training room' Daniel imagined something out of a Harry Potter movie, maybe with more pentagrams, not a weights room. "Yeah, a little underwhelming, I guess," he murmurs.

He really shouldn't complain, because it is free. But Danny tends to see the glass half-full, leaning towards almost empty. He sighs, then spots Gabby, nodding to the small girl, then giving her a second glance given she is probably lifting more than he could handle.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney rolls her shoulders back bringing her arms back to lean the bar of the weights on the rack just before her arms drop completely causing the loud *clang* that was sometimes heard from here. It leaves her panting heavily while her arms just fall down to her stomach with her fingers curled in like claws from being held in that position too long. After a moment she sniffs loudly and glances over toward Danny to flash him a smile. "Ah, hey... Sorry I was..." Another deep breath is drawn though it seems to help center herself more. Sitting up she takes care not to move her arms too much as they slowly start to unlock from the position they were in.

"Came to check out the room? I was just exercising a bit. If you need it for something I can switch it up," she assures. "Just let me heal up first."

Daniel Ketch has posed:
"Are you injured?" Asks Daniel, looking somewhat concerned. Not a lot, since the other day Gabby said she healed super-fast didn't feel any pain. "I... yeah, check the room. I heard more rooms are opening."

He looks around the room again, "I don't need it. I mean, a gym is fine to de-stress after work, I suppose. I have to wonder if it would be useful, or just a nice illusion. Like the whiskey that don't gets us drunk from the bar. Magic is never free, after all."

Robbie Reyes has posed:
Today is Robbie's birthday. And as such, Gabe's undoubtedly got something in mind to torment him with. Thinking to stay one step ahead, he's come here instead of going home after work. Ostensibly to grab a drink and enjoy some peace and quiet; but the sound of voices draws him out, to the entrance of the training room.

Where he spots Danny, and immediately goes tense.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney crinkles her nose a little at the question of being injured while giving a side-ways lean of her head. It was almost a shrug. "Kind of. I'm over-stressing my muscles which causes tears and weakness. I'll heal quick and then the muscle will be stronger for it. It's not something I do often but it does help to train up quickly," she explains while glancing down to her hands to flex her fingers a time or two feeling the flexibility come back into them. Realizing though that he might be concerned, her head lifts quickly again to reassure him. "Oh! But I can't feel pain so don't worry I'm not hurting or anything, just..."

Maybe it'd be best to change the subject. "Yeah, the Magician opened last night. It was an interesting experience overall." Standing she shakes her arms out, helping the blood flow again and otherwise looking completely okay. Maybe she was telling the truth. Just as she's explaining it though her eyes skim past him toward Robbie with a quick widening of her eyes.

"Happy birthday, Robbie! I got your gift out in the sitting room!" Distract. Distract. Hopefully it would work. Looking back to Danny she hesitantly flips the conversation again, "Uh, it's only a weight room right now because that's what I wanted it to be. It can be anything. It's pretty cool." Her eyes swing Robbie-ward again looking between the two riders. "We good?"

Daniel Ketch has posed:
Daniel doesn't have a 'other Ghost Rider' detection sense, and Noble doesn't either, but when Robbie speaks, he tenses visibly. And just as the last time, the Spirit of Vengeance wants out. There is something inside Robbie that makes the Rider angry.

"I... yeah, just peachy. Hello, Robbie," beat, "it is your birthday? Well, I hope you are having a good day."

Robbie Reyes has posed:
Well, the feeling seems to be mutual. Robbie seems to half consider just turning around and walking right back out.. but he's supposed to be working just this sort of thing. Improving his control. Being a little less of a loose cannon. So he takes a breath, works his jaw, and stays.

"Hey, Gabby. Danny." The pair get a little upnod, though he keeps his eyes on the other Ghost Rider, until the younger girl mentions.. a gift? "Wait, who told you? Rien? You didn't have to get me anything." He scrapes his fingers through his hair, blushing slightly.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney reaches back to grab a small towel off the bench which she wipes her hands off on before draping over her neck and shoulders. The ends are hung onto as she walks away from the training area toward the other two with a grin of apparent relief. They were trying after all that's all she could hope for. It's Robbie who gets an answer first as she grins broader, flashing her teeth. "I have my ways. It's nothing big don't worry," she assures.

Turning around to face the room again she lifts her hand out toward thin air. Only for what appears to be a control pad of some sort to appeaer hovering in air in front of her. Fingertips drag down the 'screen' to select a New York City street. The room changes from the weights to what looks like an authentic street at night lined with buildings. It's like a portal had opened up, only, it was just isolated to this room.

"THIS is what the training room can really do," she adds toward Danny before glancing at the pair. "You guys want to blow off some steam?"

Daniel Ketch has posed:
Daniel moves aside as not to be between Robbie and Gabby. And keep an eye on Robbie. For reasons. He almost misses the appearance of the control pad. Uh... control pad? "Wait, is this a holodeck," and suddenly they are in a street that feels like New York. "It is a holodeck," he decides.

He looks around cautiously, and taps a brick wall, checking if it feels like... what it looks, and smells. "What else can this place do?"

Robbie Reyes has posed:
The street scene is more to Robbie's liking, anyway; he's hardly dressed for a workout. Faded muscle tank, leather jacket and tight jeans shredded at the knees, shoved into scuffed combat boots; he'll fit right in with the other street punks.

Daniel's maneuvering is not missed, though. He eyes the other man for a moment or two in return, then pushes out of the doorway and ventures further inside. "Always lookin' to blow off steam," he tells Gabby, hands in his jacket pockets as he strolls toward her. "Whatcha got in mind?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney snap-points toward Danny wearing a broad grin. "Exactly! It's awesome, right? I haven't completely tested it's limits. I'm not sure anyone has yet. I'm kind of curious to know if it could do the void of space but at the same time, that seems like a bad idea even to me," Gabby has to admit. For HER to say she thought something was a bad idea? Either she was maturing or even she had her limits.

As to what to do? She hesitates there considering a moment. "I could always set up some of those Alchemax zombies. ... I'm sure at some point we'll be facing them again. Alchemax seems to pop up every couple of years with something. I just..." Here she pauses, face scrunching as she shrugs stiffly. Best not to get into things with that yet. These would be fake. Surely it wouldn't be as tough to face fake ones for her.

"I don't feel so bad about killing something already dead."

Daniel Ketch has posed:
"Zombie, uh? I should get my shotgun," as in Daniel's experience zombies can be handled without the Ghost Rider, at least in small numbers. Not that the Rider would come out if the threat is fake... except he would, but to pick a fight with Robbie's Rider.

"Well, I am willing to try," he decides, "my... er... I don't think the Ghost Rider will even consider any kind of training, he usually goes looking for trouble if I invite him out and there is not an immediate emergency."

Robbie Reyes has posed:
Robbie's in pretty much the same boat, where training's concerned. With the added bonus of his particular Rider being something of a grade A asshole. "You got a spare?" Shotgun, he probably means. The young man smirks slightly, then nods to Gabby. "Let's do it. Been a while since we threw down together."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney smiles with amusement. "Right. I know that it might seem kind of pointless, but it's a good way to learn how to fight alongside each other without getting in the way or risking any innocent lives. I mean, even knights trained, right?" She reasons with a little shrug as her fingers type over the magical keypad.

"To be fair these zombies aren't the normal sort. They were injected with nanomachines that sort of take over their bodies and use them like puppets to do what they want. After the nanomachines turn off their heart and kill them. ... Their minds keep going though. They know they're doing things they don't want. It's kind of unsettling, so I'll go for regular zombies kind of for the trainin."

Even as she says this several figures appear on the street, down alleys, in buildings. Some were likely 'innocents' meant to be protected. As soon as she starts things up there were already cries and pleas of needing help from some of the buildings.

"Let's go then! I'm ready!" And with one last grin she departs from the sidelines to step out onto the city 'street'.

These weren't the slow shuffling type of zombies apparently as they walk or run at normal pace, and start to converge down the street toward her as soon as she's there.

Daniel Ketch has posed:
"No, it is not pointless," protests Daniel, "I like to be able to handle myself without calling the Rider. He usually overstays his welcome," and sometimes Daniel loses days of his life. "And he is not necessary in all cases. Besides... blow steam."

Although nano-machine zombies are not the typical supernatural threat Daniel is (not) used to face. "Alchemax, uh? Can't say I know them. Different circles."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Yeah, Alchemax. They're the ones that made me and my sisters," Gabby states simply in a matter-of-fact manner. It was old news to her after all though she wasn't sure if Danny knew she was a clone or not. It didn't matter at this point though; the simulation was running.

A trio of zombies start to veer off toward Danny. One limps dragging his obviously injured leg behind him, but the other two are at a regular speed coming for him with glassy eyes and grabbing hands.

Daniel Ketch has posed:
"Made you?" No, no one told Daniel about clones. He tends to assume everyone in the JLD has supernatural powers. Or supernatural problems, anyway. Maybe Gabby is a zombie and no one told him!

And now there are three screaming guys that don't look like zombies, really. They are not even a little rotten. In fact, they are quick. Hopefully they are not as strong as supernatural zombies. Daniel can handle a thug or two, he meets the first running 'zombie' halfway, catching him in a judo lock, and sending him flying against a wall. There are some broken bones there.

Unfortunately he has no time to prepare for the second attacker, who tackles him down. Daniel rolls with the tackle, trying to end up on top.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
The zombies go down easily enough, broken bones were still a hinderance even if they didn't seem to feel the pain of it. When something was broken it just wouldn't work right. The one that crashed into a wall might be down and rightfuly so judging by the crack of his skull impacting with the wall. The other that manages to get him down is rolled easily. It's the third that is taking the time to come up at him from ontop as well.

Gabby steps in at this point introducing the sole of her foot to the head of the one coming at him from behind, snapping it's neck in the process. It's head twists away far too sharply and then it slumps down completely.

"Yeah, I don't have parents in the traditional sense. I was made from stolen DNA, raised and trained to be a killer."

With that small explanation given she whirls away snapping her glowing claws out of each hand to slice at one of the zombies that had been coming her way to take it down. Now that Danny was out in the playing field though she stays relatively close to lend a hand, and vice versus. Another several are coming her way, too.

Daniel Ketch has posed:
Daniel doesn't have any way to deal easily with a frenetic man that doesn't feel pain. He punches the zombie a couple times, but fails to stun him, because... no pain. In fact, he is dead. The zombie grabs him by the neck, and he struggles to break free, scrambling to his feet. "Really should have brought the shotgun," he mutters, tripping the zombie when the creature charges him again.

Breaking the neck works? Yeah, Daniel lacks the ninja training or the raw strength to do that. "What is the best way to stop them?" He asks.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Severe their spinal columns. They can't recieve electric impulses to move if there's no pathway," Gabby states with a glance in his direction watching him struggle with a hint of bemusement. Given the lack of strength though? She alters her advice to, "Slam the heel of your palm into it's nose in an upward direction. It'll drive the bone into the brain. Takes less strength but just as effective. Breaking a nose is straight-on, but upward can be deadly."

It's all offered as advice while she leans back to kick one of the zombies coming toward her away with a spin-kick. As soon as she comes around from it she runs forward straight at it, using the stumbling body as a stepping-block to leap over it toward two others that she clothes-lines across the neck. The momentum of her movement along with her bodyweight as she flips is enough to send their heads snapping back sharply dropping them.

Daniel Ketch has posed:
Daniel doesn't know the kind of martial arts that allow killing people easily. Those are not usually taught to normal people. He doubts Jack D'Auria, the martial artist that taught him, knows that kind of move.

Zombie Two just keeps coming, though, ignoring blows that would incapacitate a normal person at least for a few seconds. So, after wasting almost a minute, Daniel pushes the zombie away, grabs a lead pipe from the floor, and manages to hit the creature in the head a few times, until he stops moving.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney glances over once she hears the thumpy sound of something heavy against something fleshy only to grin at his improvisation. If it had kept up she could go over there, but... She might be younger, and might not be as skilled with supernatural events, but she was trying to help by not outright taking things away from him too. Red Robin had asked her to be a team leader of the Outsiders and she was taking it to heart that sometimes that meant teaching as well as simply wrangling cats. In this aspect the combat was something she was intimately familiar with.

"I can teach you some of the... more definitive moves, if you'd like. Nothing wrong with improvisation though." The next zombie coming at her she meets with a simple punch to the face that is enhanced at the last moment by her claw coming out to skewer through it's skull. When she hops back, hands up and at the ready, the zombies that had been attacking are thinned out.

"Want to keep going?"

Daniel Ketch has posed:
Daniel blinks at seeing how many zombies Gabby has taken down while he was struggling with one. "I'd say I don't need to learn how to kill with my hands, but I would be lying," comments Daniel gloomily. "I rather learn the less lethal solutions first, or at least at the same time. Although I have used a shotgun a few times, too."

But never against regular humans. Well, not yet. If he gets attacked by Deathwatch ninjas again, he probably would.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney grins back toward him with an understanding nod. "That's okay. It doesn't all have to be killing. I don't kill to begin with, except in cases like this. If you don't mind learning from a kid, I really do know a lot," she explains with a laugh as she heads over to turn the simulation off. "That'll do for now. Good job though, you didn't give up and you worked on the fly! That can be worked with. For now I should shower and get a drink."
