Titanic Awakening I - Pacific Interception
Date of Scene: 10 July 2022
Location: Pacific Ocean
Synopsis: The call for assistance from the Pacific Ocean leads to a fight with a number of kaiju, the victory goes to the heores but the cost of life was still high. And more questions remain even after the beasts were disposed of.
Cast of Characters: Wade Wilson, Emiko Queen, Takako Kyozan, Aldrif Odinsdottir, Clarice Ferguson, Steve Rogers, Kaida Connolly, Koga Miura

Wade Wilson has posed:
A general call had goen out through the tri-cities area. SHIELD was looking for heroes in Gotham, Metropolis, and New York to assist with a 'situation' in the Pacific. The time and place for departure would be given and briefing would be relayed mid-flight. Compensation would be afforded to any who answered the call. It's mercenary work for a semi-government agency. Sketchy, but sometimes that's the cost of living.

Once those who answered said call arrive and the plane takes off a man in a suit comes over the internal comm system and stands before a bay of displays and computers.

"Thank you all for coming. I am Special Agent Black with SHIELD. A little over seventy-two hours ago, the fishing vessel Princess Feast sunk off the coast of Alaska." The cental bay displays a large commercial fishing vessel. "This would not warrant immediate investigation if not for the distress call that was received before the ship sunk. Please, listen." Agent Black presses a button on the bay of computers and the static-filled SOS call is played.

"This is Captain Dnaiels of The Princess Feast, our coordiantes are" static fills the transmission obscuring the numbers "we have been struck by some sort of large aquatic creature and are taking on water. Requesting immediate evac. I repeat, this is The Princess feast at--oh... on my god... what the hell is that?!" THere is a sound unlike any sort of creature ever heard. One part shearing metal, one part pure rage, one part bird call. The transmission is filled with the captain's scream before it cuts off.

Agent Black continues his briefing. "Shortly after the US Coast Guard found the wreckage of the vessel." The display shows the same ship, now at dry dock after recovery but with a massive tear in the side of the hull as iff someone took a building-sized buzz saw and ran it across the hull.

More Coast Guard calls went out about strange sightings of a creature, too big to be a whale and not matching any known configurations on sonar." ANother image comes up of a sonar display. The shape is serpentine but bulkier toward the top third with a pair of what might be arms or fins and a reptilian-shaped head. "The scale of this creature puts it over 50 meters in length."

"US Central Command has Carrier Group 11, with the Nimitz tracking the creature's movements as it swims southward but they are not ordered to engage unless directly attacked. While the Navy is a bit squeamish, we are not as much. There has been incidents like this in the past and we need to ensure that such matters do not repeat themselves. This warrants a closer investigation than sonar and long range visuals can provide and that is where you come in. We have two specialist on the Nimitz as we speak, our orders are to join with them and investigate this matter to determine the threat to global security and eliminate this creature if it poses a high enough threat." He doesn't smile as he gazes at each individual on the jet. "Any questions?"

Emiko Queen has posed:
"I have a question. Has anyone from the meta-science areas been alerted? If this turns out to be a high-tech robot or radioactive iguana or... well, kaiju. Then we're going to need them on hand to help study it and figure out what happened, who sent it, the usual fun research that occurs." This from Red Arrow, as she frowns over the information given. "Also, I'm assuming we're not meant to engage the target unless absolutely necessary, since any sort of poking, prodding or attempts at contact could result in attack?"

She's in her usual black and red, hood up, arms crossed over her chest. Still staring at the stillshots with a heavy dose of skepticism.

Takako Kyozan has posed:
    Meanwhile on the Nimitz,

On the deck of the aircraft stands a young Japanese woman wearing a skirt suit, dyed blonde hair tousled by the sea breeze, as she scrolls through data on a tablet. Takako seems almost too young for the position she holds as a UNODA attache for the UN and apparently a special military advisor attached to the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, as well. Her blonde dye job also setting her apart in a country known for its conservative business practices, but there is obviously more to Ms. Kyozan than meets the eye.

tTakako checks her watch and glances out at the horizon. It shouldn't be long now she thinks to herself. The reinforcements should be arriving soon. After a moment she looks around to see where that assistant the home agency sent has gotten off to.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
For this mission, Angela has forgone the SHIELD uniform that she's supposed to be wearing, instead opting to wear her space battle bikini. "It is too restrictive," she had argued. "Besides, for this I shall go as Heaven's Leader of the Hunt."

She leans forward to peer at the footage of the kaiju swimming under the water and grunts, "There are beasts like this that swim in Heaven's northern seas. I would say that this is one of them, were it not for the fact that Heaven had been sundered from Ygdrassil's branches ages past." She takes a step back to let others have a look for themselves. "Still, this should prove to be a worthy challenge."

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
Clarice was present, but silent during the briefing - the magenta-hued mutant sitting with arms crossed, and features solemn. She was here for one reason, and one reason only - one of the Brotherhood's chefs had a cousin on the Princess Feast, and was pretty torn up about the whole thing. And she just happened to be the one who made some of Clarice's favorite Genoshan dishes.
"Look, I can get us there faster, if you like. Pop a portal right in front of the jet, we fly straight through..."
Yup. For the teleporter, no jet could be fast enough to suit her.

Steve Rogers has posed:
Steve Rogers needs no reason to come on a SHIELD op beyond 'we need Captain America,' really, so he's there and suited up, checking over his gear as the briefing commences.

"It did already attack a fishing vessel," Cap points out, looking up as he finishes checking a strap. "Not a reason to attack it in return, but we might not have much choice."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Having literaly been the only one watching the monitors at the Titan's Tower, Kaida was well, all there was to represent the Titans. So, she did! She did leave a message saying <Going off to help out in the Pacific Ocean, BBL.> and all that. She's not inconsiderate. Either way, a bag with what appears to be cake donut holes inside falls over and out walks Kaida holding one of those donut holes.

"Wait wait wait, are we fighting like a baby monster?" She eats the bite of donut in what appears to be a series of incredibly fast bites and swallows it with an alacrity that would cause most to choke. Not Kaida, she's got speed eating down to an art.

"Cause, last giant monster I fought was like the size of Manhattan, could fly, and had baby monsters the size of small busses." Yes, the six inch tall mouse just said that as she casually rests a hand on the hilt of her sword.

"I mean, don't get me wrong, 50 meters is pretty big." She nods her head as she zips back into the bag and back out in less than a blink, holding another donut hole, "I am just saying, monsters get bigger and so just making sure this one isn't, ya know, just a baby or like a young teen or however you determine giant monster ages." She considers and mutters to herself about counting rings.

Koga Miura has posed:
Assistant? Gods, that was so demeaning, but Koga had seen and done a lot. Latveria, demons, and he still couldn't explain the ninja clan trying to steal him one time.

He was making his way along the deck now, a tablet on hand as he also checked his watch before making his way over to Takako. "It is quiet so far?"

Koga himself looks out of place on the carrier. He's not in soldier gear at all, but does have on an aviator's jacket to ward off the cold for the moment. Otherwise it's semi-business slacks and a button up shirt without a tie. Americanized Japanese citizen. Yep. That, and they didn't let him get a proper uniform yet!

He does look at Takako again, "I swear I lost the power lottery somewhere. What do you think this thing is?"

He continues to eye the horizon. Looking for signs as best as he can. Signs, warnings. Things that will give them a heads up hopefully. Oh, and he watches the skies as well for the SHIELD jet.

Wade Wilson has posed:
Agent Black nods to Red Arrow. "Of course. One of the specilalists is a meta-biologist with the UN" he confirms and nods. "And yes, unless the creature provides direct aggression, we are to observe and investigate. Nothing more." He focuses on Angela. "While I appreciate your candor, Consultant, the scientific community would be very... upset were we to destroy a creature of such scientific import without reason." He adjusts his glasses as he looks to Clairce. "While I am certain that your abilities are formidable, it is possible that such a jump would interfere with the mechincal features of our aircraft. I assure you, we will be there shortly. In fact..." He glances at a watch on his wrist. "We should be arriving momentarily."

SHIELD is not one to skimp on the highest tech available. When you have access to Tony Stark, it's not not hard to get ahold of just about anything. There is a slight lurch as the aircraft drops out of hypersonic speeds to a cruising speed and starts to descend. "This is true Captain, but again, the... scientific community" the pause is enough indicator of his feelings on the group and their insistence, "would like capture to be our first objective resorting to disposal only if deemed necessary for global security." The man blinks at the Mouse Girl that strools out of the bag, but the blink is all the surprise he shows. "We are uncertain. Thus the need for further investigation."

On the Nimitz, far ahead of the fleet's path a long dark brown serpentlike tail rises from the water and slaps back down under the waves releasing a massive splash. The ships all rumble as they increase their nautical speed to match the creature's increase and a general alarm sounds.

"Ma'am, sir" one of the sailors says, coming up. "The SHIELD transport will be here shortly." Even so the black dot of the aircraft can be seen on approach to the carrier. "But... five minutes ago, sensors indicated a dispersal of several smaller organisms from the main body." He hands over a tablet that shows a replay of the sonar scan and six smaller dots break away from the larger upper portion of the massive figure before peeling off. "They started for the surface and--" He cuts off to point ahead of them.

The water breaks as six pitch black creatures rise into the air. They look vaguely saurian as they bank around in a bird-like formation. Each is easy 30 feet long with a wingsan to match.

Back on the SHIELD aircraft Agent Black puts a hand to his ear. "It looks like we're going to be coming in hot... a number of flying cratures have emerged from the sea and are heading for the fleet. It could be posturing but be prepared to disembark and engage if necessary." He moves to a rail and takes hold of it before hitting a green button that starts to deploy a ramp from the center of the seating bay. Maybe 20 feet below the aircraft (and drawing closer) is the deck of the USS Nimitz, the aircraft is matching its speed and a number of sailors are scrambling on the surface to stations as an alarm blares over the speakers of the vessel.

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko gives a nod to the Agent, then looks up towards the front to try and see out the windshield. When the call goes out that they're coming in hot, Emi readies her bow and quickly sorts through potential arrowheads before settling on a few to keep lined up and ready. She looks towards the Agent, "How close are they to the engines?" Then she's frowning checking a few clasps and seams along her costume. Just in case.

Takako Kyozan has posed:
Takako smiles when Koga appears. "Nothing yet. The mercenaries SHIELD is supplying should be arriving soon though. I just hope they don't hurt it too badly." She frowns for a moment at that thought. "It is rarely the creatures fault in cases like these. They're just trying to live. Nuclear testing, warming seas and changing climate, these are the kinds of things that disturb them or force them out of their natural habitats and conflict becomes inevitable."

She waves a hand as if to brush off Koga's power lottery comment. "Don't be silly Koga! Your suit is so cool! Just like the masked rider character on TV! And..." She studies her tablet for a moment. "It says here you can breath underwater, that's perfect!" There is a positive spin for everything, at least in Takako's mind anyway.

It is about that time that the sailor approaches to inform Takako and Koga of the transport's imminent arrival. A pair of binoculars are raised to her eyes as she listens to the rest, confirming the black dot on the horizon for what it is. The binoculars come down and she looks over at the provided data just in time for the creatures to break the surface, one hand raised reflexively to shield her face from the spray.

"Take these and get below." Takako tells the sailor, handing him her tablet and binoculars lest they get broken by what is coming. She then glances over in Koga's direction. "It's show time. Remember, we're trying to subdue the creature." She gives him an encouraging smile before beginning to walk closer to the bow of the ship, as she does a white glow seems to surround her clothing, wisps of mystic energy trailing off of her like smoke as the skirt suit transforms into the morphic cloth combat attire of the hero (and Jingiin agent) Daidarabotchi.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela weighs Kiada's words for what they're worth. "Impressive, small one," she says, the amusement in her voice made more evident by the gay twitching of her ribbons. "Though you would be proof that size alone is not the full measure for one's danger."

Her white eyes go to Agent Black and nods. "I understand. Not all beasts so large are aggressive or have ill intent, but I have a feeling that our encounter will not be so peaceful."

When the back of the aircraft opens, the Heavenly hunter nods, "It is time, then." She slips out the opening and into the air, hovering a good twenty feet over the deck of the Nimitz. The Blades of Ichor come out and shape themselves into a wicked looking double bladed scimitar. "There!" she says, shouting above the din of the waves and engines of the aircraft, pointing at the flying things. "I will take care of the flying ones, should it attack!"

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
As go time is announced, Clarice rises to her feet, annoncing the room at large, "Portals are my specialty. If you need a portal fire point-blank through, let me know. If you want to be portaled to the back of one of those things - easily done." The magenta-hue mutant demonstrates by leaning out of the Quinjet's open ramp to get a good sight of one of the flying things, and opening a pair of portals for Emiko - one just in front of her, and one with an excellent shot at the creature. For the moment.
Oh, and if anyone wants an easier way down to the ship..." A second pair of portals open, this one large enough to let people step through, and onto the deck of the ship twenty feet below them.

Steve Rogers has posed:
"I'll be sure to grab some tissue samples if we wind up fighting the things," Cap says with a smirk. "Look, if you guys called us in, that means you're thinking it'll come to a fight. And if they're animals, well... I don't want to have to kill them. But I'm also not going to just let them destroy a whole carrier strike group in the name of scientific inquiry."

He takes in a deep breath, lets it out, then nods to Agent Black and gets up to start down the ramp onto the Nimitz. A 20-foot hop isn't that hard for him, and he lands easily. He heads toward Takako and Koga, raising his voice a little to be heard over engines and wind. "You the UN specialists?" He doesn't really blink at the glowing, but it's enough to get his attention that maybe he should be looking out toward the water instead of the people. Which he does.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"I mean, sounds to me like y-" And she's interrupted by the alerts indicating that there are some smaller monsters flying out to meet them, so to speak. She gets over to a window to look out and then zips over to another one to look out and try to get eyes on the thing. She then zips toward the opening. She looks over at Angela as she hears her speak before looking forward.

"I'll let you take half of them, bikini lady." And with that Kaida leaps free of the vessel and lands on the ship with a super hero pose! She stands up from it and stands tall, so to speak, before following after Captain America. She looks up at the shield and grins a little.

"So, like, if you throw that thing can I get a ride." She looks back in the direction of Clarice before looking forward, "I don't mind the portal idea but riding on that shield would be pretty awesome." She nods her head even as she looks at the flyers and considers them.

"I bet they won't stay peaceful."

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga just blinks a few times. "They actually put that in the file?" He pulls up his own file on the tablet. "Huh... alright." He shakes his head. "Hm... problem is, it's something waking up and undoubtedly hungry."

Then the sailor happens to tell him and Takako. And he looks at her, then sighs and gives the tablet he has to the sailor, "Get below and get to your station, sailor."

Rubbing the back of his head, he shakes it before he looks to Takako. "Ah, hell. I see why I'm along now." Koga steps off to the side as a golden belt with a blue gem appears around his waist.

Moving to a more standard combative stance as one hand moves to the side and the other near his face in what looks almost like a meditative pose as his fist tightens. "Henshin."

Almost immediately a black and gold ring shoots out from the belt before expanding around the man, turning him almost into a shadow before it shrinks in to reveal an entirely different being underneath almost. Horns form on the figure, followed by the rest enlarging before the miniature light show fades away. What's left is some sort of green, black, and gold samurai looking figure.

He opens and closes his hands before looking to Takako, "I hope you have something to throw at them." His voice is more distorted in this form, almost a growl or an ech ot it.

Then he reaches to his back as a long bow as tall as he is literally grows out of it, the string pulling tight across his chest before he slides it over his shoulder. Seconds later a quiver full of arrows grows out of the armor at his hip as he moves to the bow of the ship and begins to take aim by grabbing the bow lower than one would expect if they don't know Japanese archery so well, just waiting for the creatures to be within the 200 meter range he has with the bow as he starts to notch an arrow.

One comment has Koga glancing at Takako. "Subdue which one? The big one, the little ones, or all of them? 'Cause this just got a lot more dangerous." He says in response to that one. About that time he notices the back up has arrived as well. And he turns his head a bit to look at them, "Welcome to the party! We have a bunch of incoming flying dinosaur dragon things! Bring your own bow, shotgun, and whatever else! Sake is down below for when we get done and need to heal up a lot! From what I can see, probably best to aim at the wings to bring them down! The big one's still under water, but sent it's kids to say hi!"

Koga looks back in the creatures' directions whenever he can shoot these things. Yep. A monsterous looking samurai just gave a pretty good summary of what they are up against. And he's just got a freaking bow.

Wade Wilson has posed:
Agent Black relays the question from Emiko to the pilot. "We've got about 2 minutes before they are close enough to engage. I suggest you go" he gestures to the portal to the deck of the ship and we can peel away before engagement. This isn't a F-16 and while we're armored, we're more a flying rock than a tank" as he speaks the jet is starting to rise again, preparing to get clear of the fleet. "You can call us for extraction when its needed, Captain Rogers has our frequency!"

The six flyers bank hard and start an approach for the ship. The lead creature opens its mouth and releases a shriek. The air ripples along the line of the shriek and a furrow is torn across the deck of the ship. Revealing the deck below and sailors moving to position. Another does the same and a nearby F-18 is torn in half by the sonic waves of the sound before igniting and exploding on the deck, rocking the ship. It would appear they are quite hostile.

The destroyers flanking the carrier start firing their heavy cannons at the creatures, but the maneuverability of the beasts proves to be more than capable enough to let them evade the blasts as the formation scatters sending them in varying directions around the carrier to wreak havoc.

Takako Kyozan has posed:
Standing at the edge of the bow where aircraft normally take off from, Takako looks back when individuals start jumping out of the Quinjet. "Try to avoid hurting them." She calls back for the new arrivals, and then looks directly at the transformed Koga. "All of them. They're scared and defensive, and probably hungry. Just like you would be if someone woke you up without any coffee but that's no excuse for murder." There is that bright smile again.

Looking back at the water Takako seems to rethink her attire and in a flash the bodysuit shifts to a similarly colored one piece swimsuit. "Just like the Umibozu." She says aloud, but is clearly talking to herself. "Water fights are the worst." And with that she dives off the edge of the carrier and into the water.

Moments later the boat is rocked as if a very large amount of water was suddenly displaced and seconds after that a very very large head breaks the surface of the water, it's Takako and she's huge. While much of her is still beneath the surface one could probably extrapolate that she's at least two hundred feet tall now, probably more. As if to answer Koga's question about ranged attacks she then proceeds to do her best rowdy pool kid impression, pushing one of her enormous arms through the water at high speed to send a massive surge of water towards the fliers.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela's normally stoic disposition melts a little at Kaida's taunt and she barks out laughter. "Ha! As if you could stop me taking more!" Soon enough the flying monsters are attacking the ship. She deftly dodges one of the sonic attacks, wheeling around in the air, only to strike back at it lightning-quick with her twin blades, darting back to avoid the tidal wave of water that Takako sends their way.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
Clarice steps through her own portal onto the ship, after everyone else has disembarked, closing it off behind her. This is mere moments before the creatures attack - and her expression hardens immeiately. "I'm sorry - how many people do you know who endanger the lives of hundreds of people because they skipped their coffee?" That the woman is //still/ advocating to save the creatures is unbelieveable to her.
She focuses her attention on the creatures and her first idea- damnit, nope. Too big. She lets out a frustrated sigh, but waits as one of the creatures wheels back around for another attack, and opens it mouth and- She opens a portal in front of it, as large as she can, with the exit portal aiming back towards one of its fellows. Let's see how these guys react to being targeted by their own weapons.

Steve Rogers has posed:
Steve considers Kaida's suggestion, and then holds out his shield, horizontally, for the mouse girl to jump onto. It may be odd, but he's been seeing plenty of odd things. Why /not/ a six-inch tall mouse girl who can evidently fight giant monsters? Whether or not Kaida takes the offer, though, he eyes the flyers, grumbling under his breath about 'animal control' and then rolling his shoulders. Well, he 'disables' humans all the time. Why not giant monsters?

The shield is thrown at one of the flyers, potentially delivering Kaida at the thing. He throws it in such a way that it'll bounce back so he can catch it, eyeing the water and debating whether to jump on in once he's got the shield back.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
There's a solid blink as she watches Takako jump into the water and then a moment later there's a huge woman coming up out of the water. Kaida stares for a long moment before tilting her head.

"Well, that was cool. Be lying if it wasn't also..." She shrugs, "Not the time!" She then looks up to Captain America and grins wide. She leaps up on to the shield and grips an edge before laughing happily.

"Oh they're gonna be so jealous back at the tower! Let's...GOOOOOO!" She yells out as the shield is thrown. She laughs maniacally as she goes spinning through the air and she has to kinda do the math in her mind and then...

She lets go! She goes flying and hits the side of the same big monster that the shield was thrown at, spinning along it before finally coming to a stop with a grip on the side.

"Whoa!" She blinks several times, laughing, "Dizzy!" She pulls her blade and slams it hilt deep into the monster to get a better grip and grins.

"Now, just where should I start..."

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga was about to fire, until he saw the massive wave from Takako.

That has him stall his shot and move out of the way as he sees the sound attack. Normally he would be pretty strong and want to take these on face to face, but after seeing them do that with a scream? He really doesn't want to get too close.

That leaves him with the ranged option as he waits, taking a breath as he pulls and notches the arrow.

His first aim is at the wing of anything that comes out of the way.

After the first shot, he loads another as quick as he can while keeping an eye out as he tries to begin aiming at the creature's wings in hopes to bring the things down where they can be possibly subdued and captured. At least he's not trying to kill them!

Wade Wilson has posed:
The damage from shield, sword, scythes and arrows cause the creatures to scream out in defiant rage and then the wave comes taking two of them under it's powerful force. One manages to come out and flies up before firing off a sonic cutting wave at the massive woman with a shriek. More furrows are rent in the deck of the ship as others fire at Clarice, Captain America, and Koga. But between training and tactics they manage to avoid any more than collateral damage.

Clarice's return wave strikes its sender and seems to disorient it rather than cutting through it. It would seem their own attacks are not something that can hurt it much more than a slap in the face, perhaps their physiology protects them.

Another one the beasts flies toward one of the smaller frigates and skims along the side, the wing bites into steel and shreds it like paper, a general alarm soudns from the boat as it attempts to disengage and right itself to avoid sinking. It doesn't get far though before a massive creature rises from the water and takes it under sending a small shockwave of water around it when the ship explodes underneath the waves. The thing is large, though not as big as Takako. But what it lacks in size it makes up for in speed. It streaks through the water much like an eel before propelling itself upward toward the largest threat it can see, jaws wide and talon tipped foreclaws angeled to tear and rend the elnarged woman's flesh.

Takako Kyozan has posed:
Some might say Takako is getting her just desserts as first one of the winged creatures and then the much larger creature both turn their attacks upon her her. In truth there is a voice in the back of Takako's mind that would like nothing better than to rend all of the creatures into bloody pieces, but she is quite determined not to listen to the dark whispers of that voice.

It is fortunate for Takako that her morphic cloth suit is made of pretty stern stuff and can stand up to a lot of punishment, it is unfortunate for however that it is currently in the form of a swimsuit and not affording nearly as much coverage as usual. She grits her teeth as the sonic attack from the flyer slashes a gash across her shoulder. There isn't much time to respond though before the even larger creature is upon her.

That white glow surrounds Takako again, but this time all of her as the Daidarabotchi channels the power of the God Body increasing her physical density and prowess to match that of one of the Amatsu-Kami or Asgardians. With the creature coming at her head on, she attempts to catch its arms by the 'wrists' and hold it away from her body to keep those vicious looking jaws at bay. "I don't want to hurt you. But you're not giving me much choice. Please stop." She knows it probably can't understand her, she's the sort of person who talks to cats and dogs, too.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Well. That didn't work," Clarice mutters under her breath. "Oh well!"
She blinks out abruptly, deciding to take a much more direct approach to the problem, appearing above one of the flying creatures. She throws a volley of her silvery hued javelins at the creature below her, each one aimed to strike at its left wing, and telport chunks of it away. She doesn't wait to see if the javelin's strike true, though, as she blinks back to the ship, landing in a three-point landing on the deck.
"We'll see how they like that. Hey Cap - need a lift onto one of those things?"

Steve Rogers has posed:
<<Alright,>> Cap says, <<these things just sunk a ship. We're going to /have/ to at least hurt them. Blink, can I get a portal on top of the one that did the sinking?>> Once he's been given that portal, he jumps through it to land atop the flyer that sunk the frigate, and starts using the edge of his shield to try to sever the wing tendons.

That'll hurt. Will it kill the thing? Only time can tell. But also, Steve's ride is about to get /really/ bumpy. Assuming the shield can sever the tendons, but if anything can it's Captain America's shield.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Huh!" Kaida considers and rushes along the animal she's on. She slides the sword away and shakes her head as she rushes along. She casually reaches into a pocket of her clothes and pulls out some tough string.

<<They've been disturbed!>> Kaida calls out into the comm she was given that she seta round her waist.

<<Something disturbed the eel, they work with the eel to live. They aren't malicious.>>

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga dodges and happens to see the things literally shredding a ship with their wings. "That is an--"

Then they have the titanic clash of Takako and the big monster to deal with. Something that has Koga stumbling on the deck as he was unprepared for that much rocking about. Deciding to stop trying to just subdue, Koga takes aim with the bow again.

This time he aims for an eye of one that's charging a ship. It might miss, but he's hoping for something in the head to be hit. Something to cause it to hopefully just crash on the deck.

Seriously, wings that can shred a ship are bad news in this case. Then he looks towards the big battle and growls a bit before transmitting over the comms, << You alright? That thing looks like an alligator mixed with a shark or something. >>

Wade Wilson has posed:
Another of the flyers goes down under Angela's blades and another falls to the deck of a destroyer after Clarice all but destoys a wing. Captain America's shield -does- in fact cut through the thick scales of the creature and the wing buckles sending it to the dark of the water below. Koga's arrow is a little off the mark, instead of going into its eye it strikes the center of what might be its skull. The creature jerks and then divebombs the ship landing against another F-18, the mass of the beast all but destroying the aircraft but it is very much dead.

Takako and the massive creature are engaged in a grappling match. The tail of the beast thrashes and wraps around one of the woman's legs, tugging and jerking with incredible strength to bring her under the waters where it would have the advantage. It snaps at her a few times, attempting to get its jaws on her, before it stops and opens it's mouth wide. A yellow glow starts in the depths of its throat before an arcing beam of electricity is discharged from its mouth directly onto the Daidarabotchi.

Takako Kyozan has posed:
The titanic aquatic wrestling match continues, as the creature begins wrapping itself around Takako. Both disappear under the water for what feels like a long time but is really only perhaps thirty seconds before she fights her way back to the surface to get some air. This is why water fights are the worst, because humans just aren't designed for them.

Her grip on the creature's arms has not loosened however. <<I'm fine Koga. Everything is fine!>> She calls back through the comms. It certainly does not look fine. And then the creature begins gathering energy inside of its maw. <<Oh no..>> She didn't even really mean to say that through the Comm, she simply didn't manage to cut the channel again amidst the struggle. The scream that follows as Takako is lit up like a Christmas Tree is loud enough to blow out the windows of the Nimitz and the surrounding ships and probably isn't too friendly to exposed ear drums either.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela pulls out her double bladed scimitars, and flicks them in the air, shedding blood from the blades. "Now," she says, "for the beast itself!" The Blades of Ichor shimmy as they change shape, into that of a long, broad headed spear.

With a shout she launches herself at the beast while it's still visible above the waves, aiming to drive the spear into the back of the kaiju's neck, hoping to sever its spine. Her aim is just short, however, embedding the Blades into the thick muscle of the neck when the monster dives beneath the waves.

Cursing, Angela quickly retreats back up into the air, letting go of the spear, and drawing Xiphos, the Sword of the Stars and waits for it to resurface. "Foul beast!" she shouts at it when it lights up Takako.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
With the flyers down, Clarice goes to the railing to watch the epic kaiju battle - wincing as Takako gets electrocuted. "Oof. That always hurts," she remarks. But what can her portals do against the creature? It was too big for her to move. She could start teleporting parts of it away - or...
    <<"Lava incoming!">> Wait - lava?!
    Yes. Lava.
Kilauea would be the closest volcano with an active lava lake - so that's the one Clarice aims for - opening a portal above the monster. <<"Hold it still.">> Yeah right. At least the portal is a small one, letting in only a small stream of the 2,200 degree Fahrenheit liquid. And if it looks like Takako will end up under the stream? The portal immediately disappears.

Steve Rogers has posed:
Steve stands on the deck of the Nimitz, catching his breath as he stares at the battle going on in the water. He considers things for a moment, watching the creature light up Takako, Angela taking back to the sky, Blink dump /lava/ on the thing.

Then he makes sure he's on the Navy's comm frequency. <<This is Captain America. I am going to /strongly/ suggest to the commander of the Nimitz and Carrier Strike Group 11 that you disengage immediately and retreat to a safe distance. Get the ships the hell away from this area, ASAP. Before we lose another ship.>>

As he says this, he's turned and run for the bridge of the ship. He'll make his plea in person if he has to.

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga shakes his head as he looks at what is going on before he hears Cap's call. The bow and quiver shrink down, seemingly absorbed back into his armor as he takes a running, super-strength enhanced leap into the air as Takako and the eel surface again.

"BANZAI!" Comes his call as the claw designs on his armor suddenly lengthen, giving him a set of hand and foot claws that he tries to latch on to the thing's body somewhere. Anywhere, really. And start working to claw his way up the thing towards it's head.

And he seriously hopes the thing's hide isn't tougher than steel, else this is going to be a bad idea.

Wade Wilson has posed:
The Destroyers have mostly peeled back away, as have the frigates, leaving the Nimitz the only vessel in range of the creature and while the ship could probably handle the creature jumping onto it it would take some significant damage in the process. The Captain comes on the comms, "This is the captain of the Nimitz. Captain Rogers, we will stay in order to secure all members of your team for extraction, just do what you can to take that damn thing out." His voice is a bit slurred on account of the damage Takako's scream provided.

Back at the battle the spear hurt it, but not enough to do more than force it to release another shriek of pain of its own. It sends a blast of electricity at Angela's flying form in retaliation, which might allow Takako the time to recover from the initial strike it caused.

The lawa flow digs a furrow in it and it uncoils from Takako's leg and thrashes to get away from the burning liquid. The struggle allows Koga to leap onto it's back and the claws do pierce it's skin catching on the thick fatty layer under the dark skin. It's a rough ride but the grip of claws affords him a level of security that he wouldn't otherwise have.

Takako Kyozan has posed:
Most people would be completely out of commission, if not dead, after having that much electricity course through their body. That they are in water certainly did not help matters. Takako is, however, not most people. The creature's distraction from Angela's attack and the magma gives Takako the time she needs to recover, snapping back to full consciousness moments later, if still a bit singed.

"I wanted to help you." She tells the creature as she begins to glow again, gathering her Tama in a swirling aura around her body. "I'm sorry. But I can't let you keep hurting them." The swirling Tama begins to draw seawater into itself until it looks like Takako is surrounded by a cyclone of water charged with divine energy amidst a void in the water with the rest of the ocean kept momentarily at bay by the mystic pressure of the aura. "Please don't hate us for this. If only we could communicate better, perhaps this could have ended differently." She then brings her hands together, channeling the divinely charged water into an ultra pressurized high velocity lance aimed straight center mass at the largest part of the creature's 'chest'. "Chou Sui Sou!!!"

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela is inhumanly fast, but not faster than lightning. She dodges and weaves, but is ultimately struck by the blast, sending her flying unconscious, her body skipping across the water until it hits the hull of the Nimitz with a loud *CLANG!* before falling into the water.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Whoopsy!" Clarice lets the lava-hose blink out - after all, the creature is moving, and in combat with two of her allies. It takes a lot of concentration to keep moving it to somewhere useful. Instead, she hastily opens a portal beneath Angela as the woman falls, adding hastily, <<"Cap, think fast!">> That's all the warning he gets before a falling 'damsel in distress' appears just above him.

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga, meanwhile, is just fine. He's in for one hell of a wild ride as he claws his way up as best as he can. But well, finally he decides he's done with the ride. He starts to slice into the skin with the claws before he digs his actual hands into the skin flap. The claws go away and out comes a sword that he stabs into it instead. A really sharp sword that's probably not normal as he proceeds to let go and let the eel just cut itself as it goes away from him.

The muffled roar from him at the eel afterwards is probably not normal, but he hasn't figured out how to speak underwater yet. He does start to head for the surface to hopefully not get knocked much further down into the ocean, though.

Wade Wilson has posed:
The water jet strikes its target and the creature goes flying as the lance drills into it. It lands on the water's surface with a gurgling cry as black ichor spills over the surface of the water. Acid. The jet pierced the creature's stomach and the acidinc digestinve juices are spilling over the ocean's surface. It struggles to rise but that damned sword that Koga left in it is a torrent of death as it slices and dices like a ginzu through the thing, the blade tears free and returns to its source swiming in the water.

What's left is the carcas of a legendary creature. Something unseen more than once this side of history and a number of questions as to why it emerged from millenias long hibernation.

Over the speaker the Captain asks, "Is it over? Is it done?" His tone is hopeful but hesitant. After all, the thing destroyed a frigate, there's going to be repurcussions in paperwork and funerals for the fallen sailors aboard.

Takako Kyozan has posed:
This is not a happy moment for Takako, sure the creature is defeated, but it doesn't feel like a victory. As she floats there in the water her mind keeps going back to what she could have done differently, if only there was a way to communicate with it.

But rather than keep draining her reserves of Tama, her very life force, she releases her transformation and eventually makes her way back to the Nimitz. There are going to be reports to file for the UN and Jingiin both, and the carcasses will need to be collected as well. She can already feel the fatigue from the oncoming overtime hours, or maybe that's just the aftereffects of being electrocuted it's hard to say. But once back aboard the Nimitz she retires to a bunk to get what rest she can before the work resumes again in earnest. In the end, fighting the Kaiju is the easy part, really.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
Clarice helps get everyone back aboard the ship - portals are handy for that sort of thing, and then wanders over to the fallen creature on the ship's deck, walking around it curiously, and studying it. "Well. Sometimes it feels like I've seen everything. Then I end up in a Godzilla movie."
Who made Clarice watch a Gozilla movie?

Steve Rogers has posed:
"It's done," Steve says. He's made it up to the bridge, and gives the Captain a somber expression. "If you need any help with retrieval, let me know. I've got a feeling this isn't done." He sighs, looking out over the wreckage from the windows of the bridge.

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga makes his way to the Nimitz where a ladder ends up being thrown down so he can make his way back up. Afterwards, he shakes his head and transforms back to his business suit-like clothing.

Plopping down on the deck right there, he looks at the carcass and huffs a bit. "... I feel bad we had to do that. But what in the world made it wake up after all this time?" He voices, staring at the thing.

He taps his comm unit, << Give me a bit and a line and I will see if I can get one of the fliers as well. Otherwise, we need some sea worthy assets. >>

He looks around, frowning as he seems to consider. << Get us the list of men and ships we lost, too. We have some visits to pay. >>

Wade Wilson has posed:
It doesn't take long for a number of planes to get in the air and clear the deck of the ship so the carcasses can be acquired fromt he sea. The loss of sea life due to destructive bile is unfortunate but it's bounced back from oil spills, likely it will bounce back from this as well. The ships head to the nearest port, in this case he state of Washington.

From there retrieval, acquisition of specimens, compensation, and a formal debrief can occur.

But questions such as Koga's still reamin. 'What caused the creature to move in the first place?' and Captain America's portent of the future looms large, larger than one can even imagine as rumblings of something more dreadful start to stir off the coast of Japan.
