Cast of Characters: Lara Croft, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton

Lara Croft has posed:
In another branch of the multiverse, Jonah may have come with Lara on this little expedition of hers, but this version of Lara has seen extraterrestrials and been to the moon and has done parkour through alien spaceship wreckage and is in SHIELD. Even though this is a very personal journey for her, and a personal project in the eyes of SHIELD, both Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff have taken some of their free time to go with her in her quest for the Divine Source in Siberia.
Lara holds one of her climbing hooks tightly in one hand with the other embedded in the frozen stone the group is climbing. She's got terrible climbing safety practices, but she's surprisingly strong. The safety rope keeping the three together has saved each of them at least once, but with Lara in the lead, she's had to hold on like an anchor line while someone below dangles on the rope more than once.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff isn't bothering with piton gear or climbing things. The woman has spent decades in Siberia, going in and out of there and fighting. For all the sheer surfaces are and how dangerous they are, she's going up and along them even with the surface virtually sheer to the point of frictionlessness. Wearing just light winter gear, for the woman that might have ice in her veins htere seems no particular issue to the weather.
She's climbing up the cliff face over with almost no effort.

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint brings up the rear, retrieving cams as he comes on them so they can be reused. He stops momentarily, both axes and sets of toe spikes in the ice, to free up one hand and re-adjust his goggles. He sets his shoulders, puts his hand back through the loop in his axe and keeps climbing. His bow and quiver are over his shoulders. Clint glances at his watch and sees the temperature. He would not admit it, but he is suddenly grateful for the re-designed black and purple uniform his protege convinced him to wear. It had thermal management built in.

Lara Croft has posed:
A mini-avalanche pours snow past them as it cascades over the top of the cliff overhead. Lara pauses until the mountain is done vomiting powder and clumps of snow, then crests the top of the cliff. She glances around, looking for the obvious way to go. She finds it, looking back toward her companions climbing behind her. She dares not call out to them, given the cold fury of the mountain.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff wouldn't be phased by the avalanche. She would keep on going, pulling herself up bit by bit and hauling herself over. "I'd suggest we keep it quiet." This would be spoken over the comms and earbuds as she would let the two catch up before cleanly flipping her way up.

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint pulls himself up. He cannot help but notice it takes more effort for him than either of his teammates. He grumbles something to himself as he takes a knee, scans the area and gets his bow ready in hand.

The senior agent sets an auto spike and drops the white line attached to it back over the cliff with his free hand. Then he covers over the metal spike with snow, hiding the escape rope.

"Quiet as mouse," Clint confirms. "In a blizard."

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara is too used to working alone. Even with the comfortable earpiece in, she completely forgot about comms. She nods. "Got it," she says. She gestures. The three had prepped better with SHIELD resources than Lara could have even with her father's magnificent notes. They got to skip a few steps, and Lara had expressed hope that they would be ahead of Trinity. However, the cold war era soviet base proved otherwise. Natasha would immediately know that the people inside were not moving or acting like Russians of any political affiliation. Trinity was already there.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff goes to land up and over to hold up a hand and glance over, using a small telescoping lens to sweep ahead and speak quietly on the comms, "They've beaten us here and have setup a camp. Clint, as we approach do you think you can thin them out some to let us get inside easier?"

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint is already moving sideways to make it harder to target all of them if they are spotted. He flicks a button on his bow, draws an arrow, and loosely notches it. Clint comes to rest behind cover with just a sliver of a view through the snow. "Just a quick trip to Siberia, no problem," he says to himself.

"After a couple seconds of watching he nods to himself.

"Got you covered," Clint says and draws. There is just a faint sound of crackling electricity from the arrowhead when he does.

Lara Croft has posed:
"Not sure how I would have done this on my own," Lara says quietly to herself, unfortunately broadcasting that to the other members of her squad. "I'm going to get closer," she whispers, more deliberately. Drawing her own bow, she moves toward the rusting metal and pitted concrete of soviet era construction. She's aware of it, so when Clint's arrow whizzes overhead, she's not surprised. When it strikes his target, a half-dozen people have electricity arc between them. Radios crackle and batteries pop before those Trinity soldiers go down. "I'm glad you're on our side," Lara says quietly into her radio, the path forward now clear for her.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would click her tongue, "I'm sure that you would have found a way." Natasha slides forwards carefully, going to as the bodies drop quickly check them over for anything of use. Weapons, papers, identification.. Anything on them quickly that might give useful information before rapidly disarming them.

Clint Barton has posed:
Unseen to either of the other agents from behind, Clint winces a little at Lara's comment about sides.

"Moving, got you covered," he says. Clint draws another arrow, a different one this time, and moves forward after Lara and Natasha. He keeps his head on a swivel as he does. When he reaches the opposite side of the door from Lara, Clint pulls a round metal explosive from a leg pocket and places it on the wall behind him. The central light on it blinks, the charge armed and ready for his signal. He glances in Nat's direction, then nods to Lara that he is ready and covers behind them, the way they came.

Lara Croft has posed:
As Trinity soldiers, they're all armed with automatic weaponry. Lara is more concerned about moving forward and beating them to the artifact they're after. Natasha, meanwhile, will have all the intel once they've got time to actually read it. Lara silently acknowledges Clint's statement about moving. Lara's analogue walkie talkie--still functional while the Trinity soldiers' radios are fried by the electricity--crackles with chatter.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff goes to quickly disarm them over about sixty seconds. Then moves to pick up one of the weapons for herself while going to track along with the rest, moving to be ready to back them up and then advance once more and gesturing at hte others to move along.

Clint Barton has posed:
At Nat's signal, Clint falls in behind Lara, following her lead.

"Five bucks says Hydra is involved somehow," he quips into the comms.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara stops and listens to her radio, pressing the low-volume against her ear as she takes cover. The words from the radio come through the SHIELD encrypted comms. "Constantine," comes a male voice. "We have a prisoner who may know something about the artifact." Lara speaks quietly as she touches her opposite ear. "Natasha, do you see anything like jail cells?" she asks, deferring to the local expert.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would listen over and be ready over and glance through the halls, "A bit far to tell." She would admit. "We'd have to sweep the arae. And depending how deep the tunnels go, it could be anywhere."

Clint Barton has posed:
When Lara stops, Clint moves past her, unwilling to lose the initiative. Up ahead the dimly lit concrete corridor branches, the overhead piping making a T. Clint notices the direction the cabling from the entry goes.

"Heading right, I'll track down the control room," he says.

Clint comes to turn in the hall and hears footsteps coming. He waits, then clotheslines the patrolling Trinity soldier with his bow and knocks him out. "They've got patrols, haven't seen video yet."

Clint keeps moving, following the cables above him.

Lara Croft has posed:
"Keep on it," Lara says. She follows Clint as far as the T but turns the opposite direction. "Going left," she says. Thankfully for all of them, things when this base were constructed weren't so big brother as they are in the early twenty-first century. "Black Widow, if there's a third path, we can sweep most effectively seperately, but stay in contact. Splitting up is dangerous."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would nod over at the others, "Let's not split up too far." She would note to the others while going to keep her weapon up. Moving along as instructed and then going to move on head.

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint carries on silently down the corridors. He stops a couple of times and has to duck behind some piping to avoid another guard. Along the way, Clint tosses a few more clinging explosives into the piping. They too blink red, armed and ready.

"If my Russian is still any good, I've found it," Clint comms in at whisper. The writing on the wall up ahead says control. He thinks. Clint throws two more explosives at the back of the door in quick succession. They land one right after the other, sounding like knock. Insurance for later and... He draws a flash bang arrow and waits to loose it into the room when and if the door opens.
