Any crash landing you can walk away from...
Date of Scene: 24 June 2022
Location: Central Park
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Hannah Montalcini, John Stewart, Cheyenne Brawley

Hannah Montalcini has posed:
Hannah Montalcini likes to visit Central Park from time to time, especially at night; not only is the greenery a pleasant change from the city she spends most of her time in, but she can sometimes find criminals to punch around here. That green comet, though? That's new.
She runs toward it, both out of curiosity and in case people might need help.

John Stewart has posed:
By the time Hannah gets nearby the crater, most of the dirt has settled... and a bald black man wearing black pants and a grey sleeveless with black combat boots lays knocked out inside the crater. He has visible bruising and a gash in his torso.

Clearly, he's been in a fight.

Hannah Montalcini has posed:
Hannah Montalcini has no idea who this is (she should probably watch the news more) but maybe it doesn't matter; she's here to help people and he's the only injured one around. She runs toward the unconscious man, occasionally stumbling on the broken earth, and punches him hard right in the torso! She follows up with a few jabs to the bruised areas, in a display that might look needlessly cruel to anyone who doesn't know about her healing powers.

It's probably fortunate there's no one around to see this, as she'd otherwise have a lot of explaining to do.

John Stewart has posed:
He's not awake, but that's probably a good thing with those broken ribs at this point...

It takes about a minute for John to wake up, and he coughs as he does so... and it's around this time that Hannah can see his eyes for the first time; they're glowing green. Not his pupils, his eyes. "Huh. That's weird." John notes with a hoarse voice, "Could have sworn I was around saturn." He looks around... then notices Hannah, "Who are you?"

Even through the glowing of his eyes, she can easily tell he's focused on her.

Hannah Montalcini has posed:
How does he see with that green light in his eyes? Well, it's no weirder than healing people by punching them... The tiny healing pugilist smiles uncertainly to John and replies, "I am... um... Healfist." She doesn't know who this is, and maybe she shouldn't give her real name? So she came up with a spur-of-the-moment name that she'll probably regret later. "You were hurt, so i tried to help you. And... you are in New York's Central Park, approximately 1.28 billion gigameters from Saturn. I hope that is not a problem?"

John Stewart has posed:
There's a moment as the black man frowns, then he sighs slightly. "Something hit me after I came out of a wormhole, no idea what. Might just be someone with a grudge. I'll have to check it out later." John brings up a hand to his head and sighs a bit, "Oof... yeah, I can feel it." He brings up that hand then for a handshake.

"John Stewart, Green Lantern for this sector."

Hannah Montalcini has posed:
Hannah Montalcini shakes the hand, unsure what to say. Space stuff is a little outside her experience... Although... "So wormholes are actually real? I had read of them, but only as theoretical possibilities. Nothing i would be likely to investigate soon, though, even if unknown violent entities were not a concern."

She looks John over curiously. "Green i see, but lantern? I am sorry, i know little of these things..."

John Stewart has posed:
"Don't worry about it." John says with a casual air as he stands up in the crater, and with a hint of concentration, his civilian clothing is replaced with his Green Lantern uniform in a 'shift' of green energy flitting from head to toe. "Something to look into for myself later."

Then, he realizes where he is visibly, his hands drift down over his body, inspecting, "Huh. It would normally take a bit for that." His green glowing eyes look to Hannah then. Finally, the name registers, "healfist? You have healing abilities?"

Cheyenne Brawley has posed:
"What in tarnation is goin' on here, Miss Hannah?" calls a voice in a slow, Texan drawl, heralding the arrival of a young man decked out in an all-black suit, sparkling here and there with bling. He takes quick stock of the situation and, apart from the gaping hole in the ground, slows his pace as things seem to be under control. "Showin' this feller here your power?" He grins and shakes out his right hand in a 'that smarts' kind of way.

Hannah Montalcini has posed:
Hannah Montalcini watches John's casual display of power, impressed. That must be convenient!
She nods in response to his question, saying, "You were injured when i found you, though not as much as i would expect for someone impacting the earth like this." She gestures to the crater for emphasis, and notices Cheyenne as she does.

She turns to him and says, "Sorry, i am not entirely certain what happened. He was injured in a crater, which seemed to have been caused by him falling from orbit... so i tried to heal him. It seemed to work."

John Stewart has posed:
When the newcomer comes into view, those greem glowing eyes on the black man look to Cheyenne, and John squints at him, "Nice getup."

No sarcasm at all there. None at all.

"Apparently I got shot across the solar system and landed here. Nothing to worry about." John looks down to the crater, "though seems like I just gave the landscapers something to do tomorrow."

Cheyenne Brawley has posed:
"Fell from orbit," repeats Cheyenne, mostly to himself, "well, I'll be damned. I'll never get used to this place." He approaches the side of the crater and squats down at the rim. "Can't say this will make the gardeners too happy," he adds with a grin, which promptly fades when the man with the glowing eyes speaks. "Right back at you, Pickle Pete."
"How do you like security detail?" says the Texan, looking to Hannah.

Hannah Montalcini has posed:
Hannah Montalcini looks to the broken ground thoughtfully. "I do not think i can heal this, but... maybe..." She lands a punch on one of the scattered pieces of earth. It goes splat, and she wipes some mud off her hand, giving no indication of whether she'd expected anything different.

The bald girl glances to her mismatched outfit and asks, "If someone's attire is to be made fun of, why not start with mine?" Is this her attempt at defusing tensions? Maybe.

Oh, or changing the subject is good too. She looks up at Brawley and shrugs. "Um... i didn't start yet. Working at Hope House kept me busy a lot of the time, and when i did get there to apply, they laughed and turned me away."

John Stewart has posed:
"John Stewart, Green Lantern for this sector." John gestures around, "This sector being the Sol system and a few other solar systems. Think galactic peacekeepers." John looks back to Cheyenne, "I deal with threat in space all the time. Might want to look us up on the internet when you can."

He looks back to Hannah then, "for what it's worth, I think you for the aid... but I have to go report in now. I'll find you later?"

Cheyenne Brawley has posed:
"Do what, now?" Cheyenne looks shocked upon Hannah's response. "Well, I caint have that. If you still want the work, you turn up and do it and send your invoice to me. Let the foreman know I sent you, and if he gives you any static again, you tell him he can have it out with me." He harumphs, "And if the damn fool still has anything to say about it, I'll let you prove to him that you're tougher than a two-dollar steak, yourself."
The Texan thrusts his tongue into the inside of his cheek as the Green Lantern speaks, then grits his teeth and swallows words he might otherwise have said. "I prefer personal relationship-building to newfangled nonsense. That's how I got to meet Singularity," he says the name in a tone that implies she is WAY cooler than John, "afterall."

Hannah Montalcini has posed:
Hannah Montalcini smiles to the man in green. "Thank you for helping us not die of space. The dinosaurs would have appreciated someone like you." She hesitates, then continues: "Duty calls, i suppose? As to meeting up again: i am not sure how much use i can be, but i spend much of my time in Hope House in Bushwick these days. No communications device, sorry."

Turning her attention back to the texan, she says, "I do not know how to send an invoice? Perhaps we could arrange a time for us to both show up there and... organise things? I apologise for these difficulties." She considers a moment. "Perhaps punching him WOULD be a good idea. He would heal after."

John Stewart has posed:
"I honestly have no idea if anyone in the Corps even knew about Earth at that time, but I'd imagine so." John quips. A green field surrounds him -transparent but visible- as he floats into the air a few inches, "Good to meet you both. Good luck out there." John tells them both as he suddenly goes from 0 to 500, flying directly up into the sky... and then going 90 degrees to fly west, green energy trailing him.
