Synopsis: Clark and Lois chat about a visit to Smallville.
Cast of Characters: Clark Kent, Lois Lane

Clark Kent has posed:
"So... I was thinking," Clark begins, as he reaches out to touch Lois's shoulder, and offers her her coffee mug. He's holding it by the side, offering her the handle. "Careful, that's very hot," he asides briefly. It's VERY hot, but he's not going to pretend he's burned or anything by it. The time of that, at least while it's just them, is in the past.

"I could... talk to my parents about a visit. What would you think of this weekend?" Clark asks, hand still warm on her shoulder, giving it a soft squeeze of palm.

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois takes the coffee mug by the handle, being very careful not to burn herself. One of them is a bit more prone to those things. She lets it cool, not wanting to burn her mouth either as she simply warms her hand on the handle. "This weekend sounds pretty nice. Are weekends easier on them? Whatever is most convenient, I don't want to interrupt their schedule."

It's not as if she's not familiar with Clark's parents... it's a matter of meeting them as Clark's girlfriend /and/ knowing Clark's other identity. She's trying to not make a big deal about it in her head and she's failing miserably.

Clark Kent has posed:
"I'll talk it over with them on Thursday," Clark answers. He always goes to Smallville on Thursday nights. "If we have to move it, we do, but I think it'll work, if you're available too." He hooks a quick sideways smile her way, and draws his hand back to return to the coffee and collect his own cup. He returns, to sit down at her comfortable little kitchen table, relaxing there, stretching one leg out.

"I didn't mean to spring it on you though, if you'd rather wait..."

Lois Lane has posed:
"No, no, no waiting," Lois says quickly. "If we wait, then I'm going to be thinking about it and I'll get nervous. Now there's way less time to be nervous." Her gaze shifts over to him. "It's not really springing it on me anyway, I did ask you to find out when we could go together." It was a trip she'd wanted to take. She wanted to hear stories and laugh with them about things Clark did as a kid. It was important to her.

She was pretty sure it was important to him, too, but he seemed certainly less nervous.

Clark Kent has posed:
"Nervous? You? What do you have to be nervous about?" Clark asks, leaning across the table and offering his hand to her, palm up, fingers open, in a gentle request that she take his hand. "They're going to be relieved about it, and love someone that they don't have to mind what they say around." Clark pauses. "And they know that I love you."

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois reaches over to take his hand. "I know, I'm not usually nervous. This is a new experience." She makes a face at him, then blows at her coffee a little to cool it before she looks back at him. "I guess things look a little different now. Different shades to the world, having you and /knowing/ you. I'm just getting used to reacting. It'll be nice because at least they know you the way I know you."

Really, if anything, they were the ones who she'd be able to relate to the most. "I guess I somehow want approval? Does that sound silly? ... that sounds silly."

Clark Kent has posed:
"Just focus on that you'll get to ask embarassing things about me," Clark suggests to her, with a kind smile, a warmth in his eyes as he curves his fingers around her hand, gently holding it, but with a seriousness there.

"But be warned that Ma will talk to you quite a bit, probably take you aside, I'd guess. But I know you'll do /fine/. They'll love you too," Clark promises her, with a direct nod, looking at her with steady encouragement.

Lois Lane has posed:
"If she takes me aside you know I'm just going to gush about how amazing you are and how much I love you, right?" Lois grins at him after a moment. "Do your best not to listen in, even if you'd be dying to know what secrets I'll reveal." Her free hand lifts the cup of coffee and she carefully sips from it.

"I just want to show them you're in good hands."

Clark Kent has posed:
"I won't listen," Clark chuckles at her, with a softened honesty. She can speak freely to his mother, and he'll trust her with that, without listening. "I'd rather be surprised when you tell me excitedly later how well it went," Clark answers. He squeezes her hand, and has some of his own cofee, mirroring her, without meaning to.

"Just be yourself, then."

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois sips her coffee again and squeezes his hand in response. "I look forward to thanking her for her part in making you the man you are today. She has certainly helped shape you and I'm glad you are the way you are now. A person builds character, but there are people who set them on that path."

She flashes him a smile. "I'm certainly going to gush about how you're a true romantic and how kind and sweet you are and how happy you make me. All stuff you've already heard me talk about, so you won't be missing out."

Clark Kent has posed:
Clark sits forward, rubbing fingers over the back of her hand briefly, looking at her with a fond, quiet love. As well as something of a blush as she describes what she'll do. He laughs, and then buries his smile behind his coffee. It's still in his eyes, though.

"I guess we'll see; Ma may do all of the talking," Clark winks at her.
