Fallen into the Rocks
Date of Scene: 28 June 2022
Location: Arkham Island
Synopsis: An escapee from Arkham falls into the rocky water off of Mercy Island. Two people see the accident, and two people are needed to save him!
Cast of Characters: Cassandra Cain, Jinny Hex

Cassandra Cain has posed:
Mercy Island is rocky, and the coast is dangerous. It's not as heavily populated as some, and the nearer you get to the Asylum the less people want to live there. Probably due to the escapees.

One of which is skulking amongst the rocks, preparing to find a way to do their escape plan thing. Dark skin, painted with black to keep them invisible, they move from rock to rock. Whoever it is is trying to be nothing, a nobody.

They don't know that they're watched. Not until they turn around a rock, and find themselves face to face with a black figure. "BATMAN!" a voice calls, and then freak out. Turning, stumbling, they fall. They slam into a rock, then tumble into the water below.

If one were about, they might hear the rare sound of Cassandra Cain swearing. Wasn't supposed to happen, and she tries to see where the person's fallen.

Help would be appreciated, if anyone were to be in the area!

Jinny Hex has posed:
Jinny has pulled over onto the side of the road, as far srom nosy folks as she can get. The noise of Gotham had gotten to her a bit, so here she is...trying to catch a breath, so to speak. Her old truck is parked beside the asphalt on the waterside, and she's perched on the back of it. The young woman's Stetson rests on her knee as she brings her battered lighter to her faqce. Her freckled face is briefly illuminated as she lights up a Marlboro and takes a deep drag.

The girl glances back at the bed of her truck, where a large trunk is covered in a canvas. She chews her lip a bit and sighs before turning to stare out over Gotham's grey-skied ocean.

It's at that point that she hears the exclamation, and her angle is perfect to see someone tumble from the cliffside and fall.
    "Ah, frick..."

She takes another drag of her cigarette before flicking it aside, and the girl sets her Stetson down before she raises to the cliffside. She peers down at the dark water below and takes a deep breath. Good thing she did so well in her swim classes back in Texas...even if it was just because she liked eyeing the women's team. The girl leaps, plummeting to the water below and hitting oit with a practiced SPLOOSH.

Jinny Hex has posed:
She is confused until that nod to the wall. "Oh! Crap!" She scrambles for the rock wall face and starts climbing. She isn't a dud, it turns out. Is she a Bat, though? Nope. Still, she scales the wall with the kind of athleticism that would make the average person pretty shocked! Hand over hand, boot over boot, she moves up the wall towards the place where her truck is parked.

Cassandra Cain has posed:
YShe's there beside Jinny as she starts up. She has a grace to her, and if she looks over it's like watching a cat slip up a mountainside. Not a human, nothing human was born that perfect. She moves with the shadows, almost as if she's showing off for an audience.

But for all of that, Jinny is alone when she gets to the truck. The asian girl is gone, and what seems like an ambulance is starting down the road following the lost man's signal. The girl she was racing isn't there.

Jinny would find something floating down from above, though. A picture, of a clocktower. Weird. Who prints up pictures anymore? But there it is, falling on the evening's breeze. A clue, or a path.

    Or an invitation?

Jinny Hex has posed:
She reaches out and catches the picture, though she finishes climbing before looking at it. The girl grunts as she finally makes it to the grass and asphalt above, and collapses behind her truck to catch her breath. She climbs to her feet and stumbles around her truck to open the passenger door and lean in to pop open the glove compartment. She fishes around for her back-up pack of smokes, and she lights one up.

She turns about and sits on the side of the passenger seat, facing out the door. She takes a drag to calm her nerves and looks down at the picture for the first time. The superhero fan arches an eyebrow.

"That's a frickin' hero hideout. It'd be -perfect- for one. That or vampires." She pulls her cellphone out and scans the photo in with a photograph. She turns about and turns on the car radio.

She turns the dial until she gets to Gotham's country station, and then taps on her phone for a few moments. It's easy enough to do a search for the building in the photo, and it doesn't take any kind of bat computer. After a moment she glances up and flicks the glowing butt aside.

"Well, hope this was an invitation, cause here I come..."

Cassandra Cain has posed:
Cass watches from the rocks. She never gets it wrong, this girl is exactly what the team needs. And if she's right about something else, the girl might be what's needed in another area also. It's a good thing that she's a mindreader, because little Ms Hot Pants was clearly staring at her tits during the CPR. And honestly? Kinda complimentary, that.

She turns, heading off with a grapple hook. Because walking is for not-heroes. Though she does like a jog, sometimes. In the dark.
