Location: Frost Enterprises
Synopsis: Emma Frost asks Tarot for a reading in light of recent psionic events. And gets a different sort of result than was to be expected.
Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Marie-Ange Colbert

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost had put in a call over to Marie-Ange. One occasionally needed favors, outside experts in such things.. And the blonde had offered to quite extensively pay up front for a cancelatin of anything else the girl had been up to, a chauffered limo.. And payment of an entire line of Funko Dolls that Marie-Ange probably thought -no one- knew about that she wanted.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
Marie-Ange had had no other plans on that exact time - and the offer -

"All of the major arcana? How did she know?" Marie-Ange wondered. Then, "Ah, of course."

SO, NOW, Marie-Ange emerges with a trim little Italian purse she certainly couldn't casually afford and an outfit that she plausibly could, coming crisply up to whatever space the madame Frost commands.

Emma Frost has posed:
As Marie-Ange goes in, there's a voice over in her head <<Come right this way darling. Bruce will see you through>> An elderly doroman waving her over to an elevator at the side. <<You'll be cleared up and we can get this handled quickly. Thank you for having made the time for it on a short runaround>>

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
The feeling of mental contact makes Marie-Ange shiver. She looks upwards and replies, or at least strives to present for reception, <<But of course,>> while she's on the elevator ride up. <<I expect that you would need a reading if you should contact me at such swift notice...? I am ready, of course, but please do feel free to speak of your query now. We might as well save the time...>>

Emma Frost has posed:
There would be an emotional sensation akin to smiling sent along the link <<Why thank you for your promptness. And I recently had an encounterw ith an avatar of a rather.. Repulsive nature and powerful one. I need a sweep to ensure that there are no aftereffects from it>> Which was why you got an 'outside' telepath to scan you over.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
<<I am so sorry to hear that, Madame(oiselle) Frost,>> Marie-Ange thinks, with the silent corrective thought coming over a little weirdly in telepathic terms. <<I shall be glad to assure you of such. Do you think it likely that you may have... such a marking upon you?>>

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would mm as the girl would come up through the elevator <<Perhaps. I find it better safe than sorry to ensure such things>> Because on one's own they could never tell either way. <<And it's quite a dangerous one. I'd much rather be safe than sorry>> By the way Emma said it that -sounded- like it mentally.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
<<But of course. It is far better to be safe than - oh! Here I am, I shall see you presently.>>

And indeed she does, looking crisp and neat. She even did her hair up for the occasion. She is wearing trousers rather than a dress, so her reflexive curtsey looks a little silly (or gallant) depending on how you want to look at it. Her hand is already pulling the red-silk-wrapped deck of cards out of the purse. "Have you ever had a reading of this sort, Madamoiselle Frost...?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would mm, "A few of the charlatan ones that were kept purely for entertainment. A proper one.. No, I have not. So you shall be my first in the matter." Emma would dip her head over politely and go to fold her fingers. "While you're here would you prefer any sort of refreshment?"

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
"Oh, my goodness, you are so terribly generous... I would adore some mineral water or perhaps a splash of soda?" says Marie-Ange, innocence in her tone. As she does this, she unwraps the deck of cards, resting the rather large pieces of cardboard in her hands and shuffling them. Leisurely. "In a moment I will ask you to stop me, whenever you feel it is right, and then to cut this deck - naturally I mean that you will pick a portion of it up and I will place the remaining portion over it, and from there, we shall divine the mystery. When you do grasp the cards, think of your question - be very clear, mademoiselle, for I must warn you, it will answer what you *ask*, not perhaps what you *mean*..."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod at Marie-Ange, "Of course. And thank you dear." She would dip her head, "I appreciate those whom do excellent work, and I'm quite happy to see that you are amongst their ranks. I owe you for this." Emma goes over to a fridge and pulls out some drinks to put over. "And let me know when you are ready." She goes to take a moment to ocnsider, and starts with phrasing it in her mind.

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle - Marie-Ange presents the deck to be cut at a key time - and when it has been so, she turns towards the nearest flat surface and!

Card, card, card.

"I will begin, and I will progress one at the time," Marie-Ange states, with a very sober glance up towards Emma -- she is naturally taking this lethally seriously. The first card -- Three of Cups. "Well, this is a warm beginning," Marie says. "The three of cups, she promises fulfillment, joy, love - perhaps even... well, I do not wish to say!" (Conception and fertility. She's thinking it, for sure.)

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would let her lips twitch upwards over at Marie-Ange over and bow her head, "Thank you again darling." Emma would muse over as the cards would start to come out. And Emma would glance voer at the starting commentary and analysis.

Ther'es a low, low laugh coming from her throat at that. "Forgive me for the interruption, do go on."

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
The next card - the Queen of Wands, reversed.

Marie-Ange coughs, delicately, and glances away. "Ah. I believe that the Queen suits you, Mademoiselle Frost. But in this reversed position, I am afraid that her negative qualities are... accentuated, or perhaps I should say the shadow-qualities. But I am sure you will agree that they are not all bad things, nor to be despised!" She has gotten *quite* nervous, *quite* suddenly. "Shall I continue...?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would go to letout a sigh, "Not in the slightest dear. It is what I am. I can hardly tell against them for that. They're just showing things off as they are seen after all. Appearances do not mean that they cannot be truths. Please go on."

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
The final card - the King of Cups.

Marie-Ange is pretty nervous. She purses her lips and composes her thoughts, which are remarkably well disciplined for a moment, and puts her hands on her hips. "Well!" she says. "If the topic of our reading were not so dire I would say... Congratulations, because you may have found your soul-mate... but it does not sound as if you are inquiring of a, er, a romantic consideration. For this places you in a rather abject position, I fear, and the King of Cups is an entity of pleasure and luxury -- and one who may, ah, seek matrimony, or union."

Marie-Ange looks up at Emma then, her face sympathetic and slightly flushed. She has her hand on the tarot deck, even so. Just in case.

Emma Frost has posed:
There's a building laugh of Emma Frost who would start to howl with glee. "Well yes dear, you have given me quite a different reading than I had anticipated." She would reply mildly. "If not in quite the same way. I was having you scan me to see if the psionic eldritch entity had put some form of a mark or tracker on me, or done something to influence my perceptions or alter them. You have given a rather.. Unique way of pointing out that signs point to.. Yes."

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
Marie-Ange struggles visibly, even as she gathers up her cards. She's trying to find a polite way to say something.

"I see - I am glad that the warning would come in time to you - I would ah, if you can investigate yourself? With your own blessings, or perhaps, the Professor, or Mme Grey, or perhaps others? Or, er, if that is not the case, perhaps you should pursue exorcism...? I would encourage you to move swiftly."

Because what Marie-Ange is getting out of the cards -- though it may well be flustered barely-a-sophomore projection -- is a lot closer to 'a hell-spawn' than 'a dark mark.'

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod at Marie-Ange, "Of course, forgive me. Thank you for your time. And is everything all right? I do hope I've not made you uncomfortable." This is however accompanied by a litlte more aggressive psionic scan of Marie-Ange.. Hopefully with enough discretionfor the younger girl to not notice it and Emma to pry at least a few more details while playing it up. "And as soon as you're done you'll be with your payment and out of here. That's all I'll have need of you for."

Marie-Ange Colbert has posed:
Leaving aside typical teenager sexual ideation, Marie-Ange's impression is more along the lines of 'the King of Cups (the other person in the reading) seeks passionate union with the Queen of Wands (that's emma in this context) and the Queen of Wands is at a decided disadvantage, complete with overtones of confusion and irrational craving.'

How accurate is this? An open question. But she has a record.

"You have not - the cards are simply grave, given the context... The message would be quite happy if you were to ask me, er, I don't know -- how your meeting with the Prince of Wales will go? That would have a very different cast on things! If you wish to say more, I would be pleased to try to, er, to read into the matter."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would mm, "Why thank you then Marie-Ange, I appreciate your time. And that's all." Oh lovely, someone else wants her as a depraved psychic bride. Emma would fold her fingers, "Thank you for your time, you did an excellent job. I'll have a second set of figurines sent to you. They should get to your address in.. I'd like to say three days with the way shipping issues are being. If you want them sooner I can have a private plane sent to retrieve them."
