Date of Scene: 28 June 2022
Location: Micola's Recovery Room
Synopsis: Pietro gets to meet Ariadne D'Angelo, Micola's mother. They have a chat while waiting for the blue haired woman to wake up.
Cast of Characters: Micola Maximoff, Pietro Maximoff

Micola Maximoff has posed:
Surgery had been a little...close call. Micola had been a trooper though and was still asleep post surgery since she'd not been out of it for long. They were in a private room, so this helped with everyone not being all nosey. No one peeking behind the curtains or spying on them. It was a knock on the door that might have alerted Pietro to someone having entered the room. A woman that is about 5'6 with long dark brown hair and big hazel-green eyes is staring at Micola from the door and there are tears welling in her eyes. It might be a good bet that woman is her mother.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
The man waited, patient as he could muster, until she was brought back to her own room. After that, Pietro was there - resting lightly in a chair. As a new face enters the room, he rises to his feet. The resemblence is clear - it is doubtful it could be any other person, aside from her mother.

"She's stable." A look to the resting Micola, then back to her mother. "I wish there had been other circumstances, that we'd have met." A look to his feet. "I am sorry I was not fast enough to have prevented this. I am... so relieved I was able to rescue her, though."

Micola Maximoff has posed:
Ariadne looks shocked when she hears a voice, "Oh god, I apologize I'm just standing here." she chuckles as she looks from Micola and then to Pietro. She heads over towards the younger man and does what every mother does, she hugs him. "Don't you blame yourself for any of this. Micola said you had been taking all the necessary precautions and this..." she breathes, "It's not your fault." she tells him as she pulls back to look at him.

"I'm Ariadne D'Angelo, Micola's mother. She has told me about you, but I apologize that we've not met properly." the Italian woman tells him. "And I apologize if hugs are unwelcome. I'm a mom, I hug people." she chuckles softly.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
It wasn't like he couldn't see it coming. He totally could. He doesn't dodge or run - he returns the hug, gentle as can be. "Thank you. It is ... diffcult to let go of what could have been done, when I see things as I do. I appreciate it."

"I am glad to finally meet you, Miss D'Angelo. Micola has only good things to say about you." A slight smile to that. "It is not unwelcome. It is again, appreciated. She's been sleeping soundly since the surgery. The doctor said everything has gone as well as can be expected - she just needs to rest and heal."

Micola Maximoff has posed:
Ariadne gives a smile to him, "She's alive and you saved other women from being victims. That should be the take away from things, your Highness. She's been plagued by ghosts for the last year from that man and I am very glad that he's been stopped." she admits. She does offer him a smile though, "Please have a seat and I'll sit on the end of her bed for now. The nurse is bringing in an extra chair." she tells him.

"I'll have to admit when she said she had started seeing someone I was wondering what biker she was going to bring home. Then she finally gave me a name and you definitely didn't sound like a biker." she admits. "You've done very well on taking care of her, your Highness. Now you've got to remember that you'll need to rest as well." she points out.

"Has Grandpa Lykaios shown up yet?" she asks him.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
A slight blush to his cheeks as she continues with the honorific. "Pietro, please." He murmurs. "Yes, the ghosts should have a better rest now - and can move on to the next place." He says, after a brief pause. He does take the seat, not going to argue with the mother of his girlfriend.

A wry grin. "No, bikes are far too slow." He admits, with a chuckle. "And I will get my rest - I tend to take brief respites. I hope to do well by your daughter. She is very important to me." A glance around. "No, no appearances from anyone else so far."

Micola Maximoff has posed:
"Alright, Pietro." Ariadne tells him softly. "She called me Thursday night. Had something she wanted to take to me about, but I wasn't sure what it was. I wish I would have answered now even if I was at work." she sighs. "It took a bit for me to get used to the ghosts as well. She had a long time resident that scared the bejesus out of me until he got his reconciliation." she admits.

"No bikes, got it." she grins. There is a curious look to him though, "I think you've done well so far, so don't worry on that. "Ah, you'll know him when you see him. He's really sweet, but I'm guessing he'll be upset that she's here. Not with you, so don't you worry on that." she points out.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
A gentle smile. "I am sure she will talk to you about it when she wakes. I am sure she'll want to talk about anything other than what happened, for a bit." He says, not going into the situation that he had saved her from. "And I am sure she understands that you were busy." Pietro nods. "I've seen a few of them, though I am hoping that a good number of them will be at rest now."

"I completely understand his anger. I still hold to mine, though it is lessened now that things are mostly buttoned up." He was so very close to ending the life of Brenden. "I certainly won't hold anything against him."

Micola Maximoff has posed:
Ariadne gives a soft smile as she looks to her daughter in the bed, "I hope she will." she tells him. "She told me a few weeks ago that they were thinking of letting her rehab a new owlet and you were going to help with it. It was so sweet and she was excited." she explains. "And yes, we'll keep her focused on other things. I'm sure there will be trauma we'll have to work through, but she's got a steady support line." she states with a nod.

"Is there anything that you need?" she asks him.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
There is a nod from Pietro. "I am helping, yes. I still need to come up with a proper name for the owlet, though." A wry grin. "I am planning on helping to setup the rooftop as well, for an aviary. Perhaps we'll speak on that when she wakes?" He suggests. "She's strong, she will make it through the trouble. I believe in her."

"Nothing I need for now, I will be fine. I plan to stay here, so long as they'll have me."

Micola Maximoff has posed:
"Might be a good thing to think about while you're spending time here, it'll keep your mind out of dark places, Pietro." Ariadne tells him with a soft smile. "Just not cottonball." she chuckles to that. "She said she was wanting to use the money from the police to fix the upstairs into a proper apartment so that you had more room. I was happy about that." she admits. "She's very strong...and stubborn." she adds.

"I'm sure they'll let you stay. Most aren't going to tell you to beat it." she shakes her head. "Do you have any questions for me?" she asks him as she looks to him.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
A slight chuckle. "It is good advice. And no, not cottonball. I need to find something fitting, that is Greek." He decides. A smile as she mentions fixing up the apartment upstairs. "I think it would be nice, yes. More sunlight in the place would help, too." A nod. "Stubborn is something we share, better or worse." Pietro chuckles.

"I would not wish to delve into family secrets, of course. Your family is something I am curious about, though. But again, I do not think this is a place to pry."

Micola Maximoff has posed:
Ariadne gives a grin to him, "Mmm, Greek, her grandpa will like that. He is from Greece." she tells him. "She definitely needs more sunlight. She works in that shop and the basement too much." she chuckles. "Stubborn isn't a bad trait." she muses.

Then she looks to him, "I'm always happy to answer questions. Obviously her father and I did not marry given situations, but...it's a lot to explain." she sighs. "She's never needed him. I think it's best that way." she tells him.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
"I do try to get her out more. I always enjoy more motion than sitting indoors." Pietro comments, with a chuckle. "She keeps me from... going mad with time as it passes." There's a shrug. "It is a good relationship - we help one another and add to each other."

As she mentions Micola's father. "Is he a concern that he might show up?" Pietro wonders, not delving into the details. "And you made the choice that was best for both of you. Nothing to explain to me." A grin.

Micola Maximoff has posed:
"I think she loves everything that you do, Pietro. She is exceedingly happy." Ariadne admits to that. "Do we need to walk? I never realized that sitting might be a detriment." she admits. "Micola had mentioned that you liked skating, so I was glad you both enjoyed that." she smiles to him.

"If her father shows up it would be...shocking. He...doesn't like mutants and to my knowledge his father, grandpa Lykaois has threatened bodily harm on him if he ever breathes a bad word to his grandchild. So I doubt he shows. Or if he does it would be a miracle." she frowns.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
Another blush to the woman. "She makes me absurdly happy, truthfully." A chuckle. "My sisters see it, and tease me for it in a sibling way. But they are happy that I have found her." A shake of his head. "No, I will take a run soon, once she wakes and knows I'm here." Pietro smiles. "I'll fetch her something from home."

"I doubt he would get a warm welcome, then." A nod. "I am sure if his father has done such, he must understand the situation."

Micola Maximoff has posed:
Ariadne looks over to Pietro as he speaks and there is a soft smile, "I'm happy you found her as well, Pietro." she tells him. "Alright, sadly I don't think you can bring her owl, but I have something for that." she states as she opens her purse and pulls out a small stuffed owl that looks like it had seen better days. She rises and moves towards the bed to slip it under the womans arm.

"Arsen is...well...he's his own beast. I don't regret the time I spent with him, if I hadn't I wouldn't have her." she admits.

Pietro Maximoff has posed:
Pietro gives a smile at the sight of the stuffed owl. "That looks well-loved." He says, nodding to the toy once placed. "We'll see what she wants, if anything, from home." A stretch in his seat.

"All our steps lead us to where we are - good or bad. And you definitely were blessed with her."
