Location: Warehouses - Chinatown
Synopsis: When Balm (Phoebe Beacon) stumbles across a drug and firearms deal, Red Hood (Jason Todd) decides to lend a hand. There's fire.
Cast of Characters: Phoebe Beacon, Jason Todd

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Over the 'General Good Guys Network Usefulness' codenamed 3GNU used as a general codified communications network by some of the more inclined , a text alert had gone out coming from the Warehouses in China Town.

>ARMS DEAL
>DRUG TRADE
>REQUESTING IMMEDIATE BACKUP

-- probably because Balm wasn't exactly supposed to be patrolling alone yet, and ordinarily she'd be with another OUtsider or backing up Red Robin.

So tonight, clad in her gray and orange, Phoebe Beacon -- known by the Callsign Balm -- was watching over a warehouse, monitoring the situation.

Inside, some of the Golden Dragons and Dockyard Dogs are sitting around a table. There are bricks of various drugs, a couple of crates, and some high-power automatic weapons visible from the overhead windows, where Balm was sitting. She monitored her earpiece and the text messages on her domino mask, crouched down low to stay out of sight.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd hadn't been planning on patrolling tonight. He was, however, in his base working on his bike. Oil doesn't just change itself, after all. He'd almost finished adding new oil back in when the alert chirped on his computer. Good thing he'd left the sound up or he might have missed it all together.

He tossed the empty oil container into the recycle bin (he kills criminals, not the enviromnent, c'mon) and walked over to look at the message. Frowning, he grabbed a rag to wipe his hands before he began to tap out a reply. Hey, hunt and peck finger typing still counts. Probably.

>Red Hood responding. OTW. Stay Put.

Because that will convince Balm to wait for him.

He turned to get suited up. A few minutes later, he pulled on Red Hood's helmet and rode out at top speed on his bike to meet with her.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Balm is a lot of things, and patient happens to be one of them. She waits, monitoring the situation quietly from her vantage point. Poor Jason's had a tough couple of weeks because of her, she's not about to try his patience and temper... too much.

She does lean over the window a little more though, watching cash trade hands, looking for identifying tattoos on hands, scars, anything that can be recorded and passed on as evidence.

A couple of Dragons come out, wearing their gold chains and headbands, grabbing a smoke as they chat back and forth in Cantoneese.

Jason Todd has posed:
The sound of his bike can be heard at full pitch as it comes into the area the sound echoing off all the buildings, but then it fades quickly. Rolling it into an alley, Jason contacts Balm again.

<<Balm. I'm here. What's your exact 20?>>

He moves to where he will have a better view of the warehouse and surrounding area so he can plan his approach to join her.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:

    The text reply comes:
>Rooftop. Pinging location now.

And with a rough layout, the location pings to Red Hood, Balm's hood up as she moves to slowly move away from the windows.

>2 gangs - GDDragons + Dockyard Dogs. Drugs. Automatic weapons. Ammo. Smoke and capture?

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd makes his way to the warehouse, remaining in the shadows. >Alright. I'm in position ten meters to your left, on the loading dock. Smoke and clear. Up for an airdrop? I'll take them low, you come in high.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Jason passes by the two guys who are out for a smoke break. They're laughing.

Inside, the deal is going down smoothly.

Above, Phoebe makes what has been called her Wet Cat face. She breathes out, and then eyeballs her comm system, and extends her staff.
    >Smoke in 3

...2....1...
There's a small break of glass, followed by a pair of orbs falling down as her domino switches to thermal.

And the tick of the orb hitting the table. One of the Dockyard Dogs gives a soft "What the f-" before the orb explodes in a flash and smoke.

Followed by more glass breaking as Balm descends!

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd is not one to shy away from killing. But on his own terms. He's out with Balm and after the, well, madness of the past few weeks he is trying to give her a bit of a break. As the smoke erupts and the chaos begins, he turns, pistols drawn and fires one shot at each of the gangers on smoke break.

The slugs strike true but instead of bleeding, they each twitch and jerk before crumpling to the ground. Out of the fight.

Jason glances at his pistols. Under his mask there is a satisfied smirk. The taser rounds actually worked. The alternative was that they'd be dead. And he'd have to explain himself.

Turning around, he, he slips into the warehouse, expecting Balm is already on the ground, he's moving to support her.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Balm knows that elimination of a foe has a time and a place. She's not above Arya Starking a mofo when needed.

The smoking gangers go down, twitching from Jason's taser rounds and then laying still, and Jason slips into the warehouse. There's already some gunfire in play, live rounds from crime afficionados who aim to take out one of the bat-adjacent crime fighters, smoke filling the warehouse room as Balm moves cleanly through. Swipe to feet of one, the metallic sound of a staff hitting another. Footsteps and yelling in Cantonese and in Gotham-ese, with a long string of curses ending in a suspicious silence after a metallic WHUMP.

Jason would find himself accosted by a pair of knife-weilding Dockyard Dogs in their black and yellow, one grins toothily at him!

"Got us a hero!" he chides, and lunges at Jason!

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd is too close to raise his weapons to fire. So he goes full GunFu on the charging ganger. Spinning past, he slams the bottom of his weapon's grip into that knife holding wrist. Jerking the weapon up, he pistol whips the man's face to knock him aside.

It put Jason between the two men. His weapons raised quickly.

Six shots. Rapid fire, three per goon.

The crackle of the taser rounds is palpable.

"I'm no hero."

He doesn't wait for them to drop, knowing the rounds are working,

He turns to tackle anoher ganger whose Ak was rising to take aim at Balm. Like hell he is.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The ganger who lunged at Jason gets the pistol grip to the wrist, with a satisfying crunch and a drop of the knife, and the pistol knocks his head back before Jason's placed between the two gangers. There's crackling and popping as the taser rounds hit the gangers, and they drop.

It was one of the Golden Dragons who were raising an AK at Balm as the smoke cleared, with her form, hooded and backpacked standing on the table in her armor, the blue of her lenses glowing through the smoke dramatically before Jason takles the ganger, who makes a satisfying "AUAGH!" sound as he goes down.

Jason's text-pick up might get a < TY XD <3 > from Balm before she turns to the sound of a door opening.

The Dockyard Dogs have backup. Fifteen men sporting weighted gloves and brass knuckles come in, followed by one of the 'field leaders' for the Dogs -- Diggory Douglas. AKA Dig Dug.

... he hates that moniker, by the way.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd is a bit too busy to try and respond to the message but he sees it. He wrestles with the Dragon on the ground. The guy puts up more of a struggle than he is happy with and he expresses his displeasure with fists to the man's face. Repeatedly. Rhinoplasty will be on the menu tomorrow.

He leaps from that ganger to find cover, reaching over the top to fire off two rounds to keep their heads down and keep them focused more on him than Balm.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Rhinoplasty will be on the menu for many a guy tomorrow.

The group of men who've entered duck down, grabbing cover behind industrial pillars as Phoebe moves herself, a pale yellow barrier between her and any live rounds that they might figre back at them, the bullets plink-ing against the walls and pillars as they try to hit the two crime fighters. Phoebe looks over to Jason, and then she purses her lips, gives a swallow, and counts the gunshots.

Once the shots stop, and there's the sound of clips hitting the ground as they loosen them to try and replace them, there's a notification of 'flashbang'

And then the area lights up with brilliant light, following by an ear-breaking loud BANG.

And she moves quickly, taking out a couple of the boxers on one side.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd moves in that instant. Balm's tactics are sound and it is easy for him to work off her actions. He's even trying to return the favor, offering her covering fire as he rises up to close in on the next two men.

They're trying to swat the green flashes from their vision after the flashbang. One shot each and they drop. He fires two shots off at a Dragon who pops up and, again, wants to aim his assualt rifle at Balm. They just don't get it. Every time they try that, he's going to do everything he can to keep her in the cloear.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The younger Batling breathes out, hearing the rifle come up and then the Dragon go down. Jason gives her cover, and she makes sure that he has a target-rich environment on his side She seems unaffected by the flashbangs, and she sweeps and drops Dockyard Dogs like she was born to do it before they try to gang up on her.

There's the rapport of a gun, a muzzle flash as one reloads his handgun -- finally, and Balm's shoulder is snapped back as she gives a surprised sounding puff of air outwards, her eyes going wide behind her domino as she reaches up to the armor.

Another Dockyard Dog is bringing his gun up to take aim at Red Hood in the process, trying to blink away the greenish blotches in his vision!

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd trusts that Balm can handle being shot; there is no way he can keep every gun off of her. It doesn't mean he has to like it. He aims at the man who just shot Balm. Firing off three shots, that pistol is now empty as the other Dog raises his weapon to aim at Jason.

He fires at the Dog just as the Dog ganger fires back. Rounds exchanged. The Dog ganger is shocked and down. But so is Jason, if briefly. Two slugs slam into his chest armor and it staggers him, such that he trips over an unconcious ganger behind him.

Hitting the ground hard, he curses quietly. taking that moment to try and reload his pistol is kicked out of his hand and he finds himself having to roll away and block further kicks as he stands back up.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Balm can handle being shot. It's how she met Tim.

She, however, looks up as Jason takes two in the chest armor, and she uses her staff to vault over to where Jason went down, shrinking her staff down and bringing her hands both up. She can keep her shield up for a fair bit to give him time to recover, her hands lighting up with that soft gold light that edges from her eyes, bullets striking the shield with its heiroglyphics as she braces herself.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd gets all uncomfortaable with that. Because that's too much like actually accepting help. But he accepts it because they're being shot at. He gets back up. "Thanks."

he finishes reloading his second pisto, currently the only one he is holding. He reaches back and pulls his crowbar from the back of his jacket. Now he' ready for ranged and close encounters. He looks to Balm. "How many of these guys did you manage to piss off anyway? Haven't we taken out like twenty?"

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
It's not accepting help. It's utilizing mobile cover!

Phoebe gives a shrug of her shoulder at the idea that she pissed these guys off, and as she narrows her eyes, she breathes out, and drops the shield, rushing forward and coming out swinging. She breaks someone's jaw on her first swing, followed by a vicious snap of someone knee as they go down. There's only eight more to go!

Jason Todd has posed:
Potato, Potatoe.

It's just a point of view thing. He sees it his way because he was looking to see it that way. But there's no time to dwell on that as Balm is back in motion attacking.

Not about to be left out of the fight, Jason charges toward the next closes ganger, swinging that crow bar. The heft of the length of steel hits the man in the hands and stomach. The sound of broken fingers and a choked scream cut off by the impact to the stomach. It's hard to scream when there isn't any air left in the lungs. The man doubles over, so Jason follows through with a knee to the face. The man is down in that instant and Jason looks toward the next target.

He fires off two shots to try and keep his next target's head down as he closes in for another crowbar attack.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
And right about then, the remaining Dockyard Dogs turn tail, with it firmly between their legs, the four remaining making a run for it out the door they came -- mostly because they *just* had brass knuckles and weighted gloves. Not exactly healthy for their selves to take on Bats.

There's several people with broken noses, broken arms, elbows, severely herniated knees -- all sorts of injuries, mostly unconcious.

Dig Dug looks like he made a run for it, though.

Phoebe glances around, drawing her hood back a little bit before giving a satisfied nod, she offers Jason a thumbs up.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd takes down that last ganger with his crowbar. There will be dental implants on the menu for tomorrow as well from the look of things.

As the last four turn and run, he lifts his pistol and empties the clip after them. Not that he'll hit but to just give them some incentive to keep going rather than turning back.

He looks to Phoebe as he reloads.

"You good?"

He walks back over to recover his other pistol. He likes these guns. A lot.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe gives a nod. There's new guns all around now, some dropped, some illegally obtained, others that could be used as evidence against the gangers. Along with a lot of drugs -- bricks of coccaine and heroin. stuff that could be cut up and sold for a small fortune in exchange. Tropical fruits that were used as cover to ship the drugs into places -- kiwi, passionfruit, dragonfruit, pineapples, all manner of items that could be bought or solid on Gotham's black market. Phoebe looks around, her domino cataloguing as she goes, and then she turns back to Jason, points at him, and gives a questionable thumbs up.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd recovers his other pistol and reloads it before holstering both. He still holds the crowbar as he walks back to join Phoebe.

he looks at the spread. The weapons don't bother him. But looking at the drugs, there is a tightness to his words.

"There is no way this is going ino evidence lock up and stays there. It'll be back on the streets in weeks. If not days."

He sees the pineapples and he stops short. Staring. For how long? He's not really sure. But then he focuses.
R"We're burning it all here and now. It doesn't get out of this warehouse."

Reaching back he pulls out... a thermite grenade? Why would he have armed himself with that? Unless he expected to find drugs on the scene. The other implications aren't as palatable.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe pauses a moment, her mouth opening as if to argue, with a soft 'aa' sound of air passing through destroyed vocal cords, but instead she nods. She lets Jason have his way here, and she withdraws, disappearing back out the skylight window from which she came.

With the thermite grenade, it all goes up in smoke. All the drugs, the weaponry, the ammo disappears into fire and smoke.

Phoebe watches from a safe distance away, rolling a Nine of Hearts playing card over her fingers as Red Hood's handiwork destroys the warehouse entirely, and the Gotham FD washes away the rest of the evidence.
