A tag-team so nice they had to do it twice!
Date of Scene: 07 July 2022
Location: Ryker's Island
Synopsis: Teamed up once again, Juggernaut and Killer Frost are sent to 'deal' with a former AIM scientist cooperating with SHIELD but in doing so, catch the attention of a certain solar powered caped hero. No, the other one. The other one.
Cast of Characters: Cain Marko, Crystal Frost, Hyperion

Cain Marko has posed:
On the list of infamous prisons, Ryker's Island might be considered abit of a dullard and not particularly exciting to ones engaging in casual discussions about such things.

It's no Raft, further out to sea and kept beneath the surface of the ocean to better keep its inmates in check. It's no Arkham Asylum with its revolving door of colorful..residents..and infamous ones at that. Famous killers, terrorists and broken madmen and women who are the stuff of nightmares to so many.

No it is..simply Rykers. It has a wing for the super powered and areas of more intense security, of course, but normies are a common presence as well. Deep within one of these areas of intense security, a former partner of AIM awaits his time before a commissioned SHIELD task force, ready to deliver information to them on some of the latest efforts by a particular arm of that infamous group. A deal has been made and vital information is about to trade hands. SHIELD will be coming soon. But they're not here yet.

What does arrive, however, is quite unexpected and quite violent. A low whistling sound fills the air. The sound of something descending. Hurtling in violently from a great height above. Launched from a cloaked gunship towards the outer walls of Ryker's. A meteor shaped like a titanically muscled man in red armor with a domed helmet. Those manning the outside walls and defense perimeters have almost no time to react before impact. A thunderous explosive blast that erupts through the outer walls, shakes the entire island violently and sends towers tumbling, security forces flying and chasms renting open. Juggernaut has arrived. He emerges from the billowing chaos caused by his entrance, dusting himself off as he walks forward into the prison courtyards, "Man...I love making 'distractions..."

Crystal Frost has posed:
In comparison to such a dramatic entry, Crystal's arrival was a little more...low key. She couldn't get in with visitors, it was too much a risk that someone might recognize her, but a dropoff with a silenced boat had the woman moving into the space. Sliding her arms into her costume, the woman slips from the vehicle, ice springing under her feet to offer support as she walked to the wall.

Fingertips brushing over the stonework, the thermal shock offering a crack as the wall crumbled and she made her way through the path, glancing at the device in her other hand sporting the map that lead to the target she'd been paid for.

Hyperion has posed:
Plummeting giant man-shaped wrecking balls with feet =do= make for a great distraction. Someone with the ability to see details on the wing of a jumbo jet from miles off, and who can see the heat of the friction blowing over said wing. Yeah, Hyperion was sitting at an outdoor table of a local coffee shop when his sharp eyes picked out the descending Man shaped meteorite.

It did not take long for him to excuse himself. After all, he was just working on a sketch at the table there. Not like he was on a date or anything. Hell, he doesn't -do- dates right now. Still stuck on the girl back home he'll never see again. It is a good thing his drink was already paid for. So he's not stiffing anyone when he leaves. A few dollars worth of tip is left behind. But Mark Milton is definitely gone.

The black and gold uniformed Hyperion arrows on an upward angle towards Ryker's. And so he whooshes over the walls of Ryker's... descending to land in the yard. He's not worried about the prisoners harming him. But he -does- hold up his JLA ID card for the guards to see.

That is when he spies Juggernaut, and he smirks. "Oh. Is it time for round two?" he asks. "But isn't it a bit odd to be breaking -in- to prison?"

Cain Marko has posed:
A horrible sound of super alloy crumpling and stone sundering fills the air as the crimson gargantua literally rips a massive chunk of the main structure free, causing walls and floors to collapse and the ground to further be rent asunder as he pulls apart building sized chunks of rubble and rolls them into massive chunks of compressed material that more properly resemble the aforementioned meteors that aptly described his own arrival.

"OLLY OLLY OXEN FREE!!" he bellows, gutteral voice roaring over the sound of his own rampage, even as some of Rykers defenses start to kick in and a tank unloads on him, expkloding a shell ineffectively into his immovable frame. "Anybody who wants out, get out while the gettin' is good!" he roars. And indeed..the chaos is allowing inmates to make a run for it. Brawling with guards, each other, and just attempting to get to any means of escape that they can get their hands on.

IN the interior, the halls and walls shake around Frost as she makes her way in. The sub levels are going into lockdown with guards beginning to take their stations along key points of entry into their levels and gates and doors lock and shut while lights flickers and the inmates therein look on grimly. The ex-AIM scientist looks out of his cell with the faintist bit of worry on his brow onw.

"Hruh? The local good guy?" Juggernaut turns, swiveling around while still holding aloft the building sized chunk of debris. "Ugh. YOU? Man.. Huh. We got company. Better make it quick." This bit said towards Frost over their comm link. Hyperion will undoubtly hear that. Not like Juggernaut knows he's got super hearing as well.

"Beat it, boy scout! You don't want round two with me."

Hyperion has posed:
Tilting his head as he overhears the comm call, Hyperion snorts. "Okay. So you're not alone huh?" he asks. The his eyes switch over to atomic levels, viewing things on an atomic level. Well, that's just what he calls his variation of X-Ray or Penetration Vision. He scans the prison, and likely there are areas he cannot see into. Areas shielded with dense metals and the like. Lead or what have you.

"I guess I'll just have to make round two fast enough that I can get to your partner before too long." he adds as he starts walking towards Juggernaut. This time at least, he has somewhat of an idea of how hard the big guy can hit.

As he approaches, from fifty or so feet away, he flashes green superheated energy from his eyes. Not at Juggernaut... but carving lines before half a dozen prisoners hell bent on escaping. "Now now. Go back to your room without your dinner, or I'll tell mom." he says to them before turning his attention back to Juggernaut. He -thinks- he is prepared for the fight. But that little distraction there, the other prisoners, may have given Jugghead juuuuuust enough time for one sucker punch.

Crystal Frost has posed:
The best part about Juggernaut's presence? The chaos. It was what the man was best at. A little smirk on her lips, the woman strides through the halls while most of the guards responding to the lockdown are moving towards the battle. With the radio in her ear, the update of the fight had her clicking her tongue as she moved through the space. Extending her hand towards a pair of guards that sweep into the hallway, the snap-freezing of the entire space has the walls cracking and the men no longer a threat while she moved into the cell block.

Cain had the right idea: a sweep of her hand shattering several cell locks as she made her way through and a gesture of her hand given. "Run if you want, take a swing at a super, go out there. All yours."

Maybe a little 'chaff' would slow Hyperion down.

Cain Marko has posed:
Less a sucker punch and more like.. a shot put with a balled up pile of rubble the size of a small building.

The boulder goes thundering at Hyperion with an explosive *BOOOM* roaring through the air from the force of the throw and a the shockwave that ripples outward from the giant as he leans forward into the toss, vast body twisting and leaning forward with all the brutal strength of an olympic athlete in their element.

As to the rest..

Several prisoners find their power surpressors deactivated and falling free as Frost' kindly gesture takes out their cells and the technology keeping them restrained. They're less then D-listers..but that's not the point here. Distraction and confusion is.

"Hell yeah!" roars one as fire engulfs his outstretched hands and another, a burly bruiser type, starts to have energy boil forth from his eyes. Still more begin making a run for it. More guards enter the area, looking in horror at the frozen wonderland before them and even more horrified as the meta human prisoners begin to jump them.

Further in, the AIM scientist looks on in terror as his cell door is opened while the ones who were guarding him move away to try and join the chaos further ahead in the secured level.

Hyperion has posed:
Oy. More distractions. And then Hyperion catches the movement out of the corner of his eye. One arm comes up in an attempt to block the incoming projectile. Sadly for him, as fast as he is, he's not always fast enough. His fist slams into the bottom of the hunk of masonry and rock... just after it strikes his shoulder and head. Yes folks, he ends up blocking with his face.

He takes a single step back and braces himself. "Damnit." he mutters before he looks around at the other escapees. "Seriously. What's your angle?" he asks before he is rocketing on a cushion of anti-gravitons, towards Juggernaut. But he learned. Last time he felt like a bug on a windshield when he tried to ram into the guy. This time, it's more of a fly-by... flying past while reaching out with a hand to give a good left hook on the way past him... angling to stop behind Juggernaut. But we all know how plans tend to go when the human (chaos) factor is involved.

Crystal Frost has posed:
Barely slowing down, Killer frost was moving forwards towards the scientist, suitably cold disinterest on her face. After all, either he stayed where he was and she dealt with him, or he ran for it right into the mess of all the superhuman violent criminals. Guards? They're ignored, only dealt with if they get in her way.

Cain Marko has posed:
"This guy aint someone I can drop with just one punch." admits Juggernaut over his comm to Frost. He doesn't -like- saying that but hey..he's a professional. "Think Superman except..uh..yellow. Lots of yellow. You got five minutes."

Juggernauts attention returns to Hyperion as the man speaks and he merely gives him a junkyard dog inspired snarl in response, beginning to tread forward slowly towards the hero with earth shaking steps and massive fists balling up. When Hyperion then shoots off towards him, his snarl turns into a big full toothed grin. His monstrous torso seems to swell with anticiupation as his muscles bulk up, veins standing out like shipping ropes against the tectonics masses of his arms and his vast chest as he readies for the impact with no intnetion of either speeding up or slowing down. He just..expects the inevitable collision of raw power vs power and that..he will win.

Exceeeeppt..Hyperion is a fast learner. Juggernaut is often not. The side swipe catches him with a thunderous *BOOOOM* that shatters windows and causes a sink hole to form around the two titans. Juggernaut wobbles sideways, sticking a massive leg out to brace himself and keep from falling or being pushed in a direction he doesnt' want to go in ..but he is momentarily stunned. "Hrnnngh! Hey!!"

Meanwhile, from a gaping chasm in the walls, more meta criminals make for their escape. The optic-energy bruiser sees Hyperion and unloads at him with a scatching burst of blue energy towards the heroes back, looking to score some brownie points with Juggernaut.

Downstairs, the scientist does indeed run as he sees Frost' approach, looking to follow after the fleeing criminals and into the chaos of it all. That's when the punch from Hyperion lands and the lower levels violently lurch. Parts of the ceiling start to rain down forcing those who yet remain to begin madcap dashes for higher ground.

Hyperion has posed:
*Zrack!* ... the blue energy beam strikes Hyperion in the upper right shoulderblade. He lurches forward and turns to lift a hand to hold off the energy. "That's pretty intense." he admits. And then he flickers with pseudo-motion as he goes into Hyper-speed mode. Why not call it super speed? Well, Hyper is kinda his namesake. So Hyper-speed it is. He simply moves a bit to make the energy projector shift his aim. And then he ducks out of the way to let that beam slam into Juggernaut.

Ever heard of the 'human shield' tactic? Well Juggernaut is -huge-, and makes for good cover. That puts Hyperion on the other side of Juggernaut from Blue-Beam dude. "Do me a favor. Don't move." says Hyperion as he lashes out with a quick jab for Juggernaut's torso. I mean he has yet to do any -real- harm beyond the mystical protections of the Cytorak augmented criminal. But he -is- fully distracted, and -not- looking for Frost.

Crystal Frost has posed:
The problem with Crystal? Her cold was...near impossible. It wasn't about hitting people with cold energy, it pulled all motion and heat -out- of things. And now there was heat and energy being flung around.

The running man? He wouldn't get all that far. A step of her foot and the floor was immediately coated in a thick sheen of ice, near impossible to walk on for all but the metahuman herself. That scientist wasn't likely going anywhere...and that cold would keep moving.

Soon enough, in a matter of seconds, the place and the target? He'd likely be flash-frozen. But a successful mission? That didn't mean they'd have a certain escape...

Cain Marko has posed:
Yeah. There is 'evac' and to do that .. a certain someone is going to -have- to be dealt with ..somehow.

The optic blaster looks in in horror as his blast scorches its way across Juggernaut's back and he immediately ceases his assault..but the overall distraction has done its job and Hyperions jab lands solidly right into Juggernauts expansive mid-section with a thunderous *BOOM* that ripples its way into and through the giant.

He barely moves.

The area around them shakes but Juggernaut, even slighty distracted, is a bit of a beast to move against his will and a jab, even from the likes of Hyperion, usually won't do the trick. It does, however, redirect his attention and a sudden shadow looms over the atomic powered hero as Juggernaut's balled up fist threatens to fill up Hyperions field of vision like a deer standing infront of an incoming semi truck cab. Hs punch hurtling in with the unstoppable strength of the Exemplar of Power being brought to bear.

"Let's see you take my Sunday Punch!"

It is indeed mission accomplished, however. The scientist and his secrets are lost to the icy grip of Killer Frost as are additional guards who did not clear out in time and some prisoners who remained to long to try and enact some measure of vengeance on their tormentors. However, with the lower levels threatening a collapse..getting out while the getting is good is probably ..a good idea.

Hyperion has posed:
Feeling and hearing the damage to the facility, Hyperion takes a tiny fraction of a second to consider what to do. If he is to prevent the place from collapsing, then any fight needs to happen somewhere else. So as that fist comes towards his face like a giant locomotive towards a VW Bug... he makes a snap decision. One he is likely to regret.

He rises up and grips the wrist with both of his hands from beneath. The strike still hits his chest as he lifts up, and causes another shockwave before he spreads anti-gravitons across his own body and that of Juggernaut... And then he turns and tries to -hurl- Juggernaut out over the wall and into the ocean. Maybe at the bottom of the ocean, Juggernaut will be less destructive. Though.. he's likely to draw the ire of Aquaman, Namor, and damned near any other underwater superhero.

That done, he turns and dives into the structure's underground. Once there, he uses his strength and anti-gravitons to help hold things up. "I cannot do this forever. I suggest getting ahold of Damage Control or some other people who can help put the place back together. But I will remain as long as I can."

The good news is...he is fully distracted from Frost.

Cain Marko has posed:
The fates must hate this match up. That's twice now that Juggernaut has failed to land a clean called shot on Hyperion. Two times his patented Sunday Punch, usually a round finisher, has failed to connect and this time as a result of simply being out manuevered by that most hated of powers by ground bound tanks--flight.

Juggernaut emits a roaring grunt as his own momentum is used against him and the next thing he knows his body is flying upwards and backwards, exploding through the top of an already crumbling wall, to go spiraling out into the Atlantic.

This also makes twice that Frost has completed the mission while Juggernaut has been waylaid by one with a certain set of meta powers. The universe is certainly trying to tell him something. No doubt if there's a next time, -she- gets to fight the capes.

Either way - the attack is ended and the threat abated for now though one truly irrate SHIELD is soon to arrive ad discover the true mission of the super criminals.
