Cast of Characters: Violet Paige, Jason Todd

Violet Paige has posed:
Over the last few weeks there have been reports of an individual all dressed in white turning up across Gotham. Getting into mayhem and then vanishing on an advanced personal flying vehicle. The sort of stories that most people in Gotham chalk up to silly rumours. But which those with better information networks would know to be true.

The Narrows isn't the sort of place anyone really wants to visit. Even when they have good reasons to be there. But sadly for Violet, in the guise of Mother Panic, she has good reason to be here. A lead on a lead. Really little more than a suspicion. That one of the thugs working out of The Dugout used to be a security guard at Gather House.

And anyone involved with Gather House? Well they have to pay.

A group of thugs. Close to a dozen of them. Professional hired goons one and all stumble out from the Dugout in good cheer after a heavy evenings drinking of cheap beer. While high above a one person flying vehicle circles. Waiting.

Jason Todd has posed:
Red Hood had heard the rumors and reports as they came across the various sources he monitors; the talk of the figure in white on a flying vehicle? Odd, of course. But it was Gotham, odd was just another day on the job. Add to that, the fact the Green Goblin has his own flying vehicle, it isn't really so unusual. He'd kept the information on the back burner however. It wasn't his fight. It was Batman's job to, well, police the vigilantes. He calls it his city after all. Jason just crashed here and drank its beer.

Tonight, however, he was out looking for someone. Gerald Tark. He ws a real piece of work as far as Red Hood was concerned. Sure he was just a small time drud dealer. He hadn't gained any real influence. Yet. But it was that he cut his drugs with substances that killed more often than they helped get a user high. And that alone made him sit at the top of Red Hood's list of scum to be removed from Batman's City - in a body bag, not on a stretcher.

Sitting on his bike in a dark alley across from The Dugout, Red Hood waited. He knew ol' Gerry would be in or out sooner or later. There was nothing but time.

Violet Paige has posed:
The quiet of the night, well what little quiet there is with all the drunk thugs stumbling around, ends abruptly when the woman in white plummets out of the sky.

She 3 point superhero lands on the roof of an abandoned car that's been there long enough to have left rust stains beneath it. The roof pancakes under the force of the impact and what remained of the windows explodes outward in a shower of broken glass.

"I'm looking for Rhys Kelley," she snarls from beneath her helmet. "The rest of you can scram."

She's clearly not your typical Gotham resident. A six foot tall figure hugging white suit, white cape and a full helmet with swept back 'ears'. The gloves also seem like they mean business. Large metal plates with spiked studs.

There is however just the one of her. And the dozen goons? Well they're filled with liquid courage and the odds seem in their favor! A few slip on brass knuckles, pull out lengths of chain and a couple of handguns appear from jackets.

Jason Todd has posed:
Red Hood had glanced away. He was bored. He hated sitting still waiting on thugs to show up. He would prefer to go inside, break a few jaws, dislocate a shoulder or three and get the information he needed or just put a few into Gerry directly. But this was him trying to be a kinder gentler Red Hood at the admonishment of Bruce. Not that he really plans to be. But he's at least trying it Bruce's way. This time.

But then someone drops from the sky and earns 8/10 on style points and 10/10 on intimidation factor points. And hey - they appear to match those rumors.

This made him sit up and pay attention. Bored no longer!

Violet Paige has posed:
The woman in white doesn't really stop to chat, clearly she's got a little more in common with Jason than the more quippy members of the Bat Family, she leaps from the roof of the car. One bounding jump that covers most of the distance and would be difficult to pull off with a running start. Let alone when standing up from a crouched position.

She lands with a crunch. Boot first into a thug with a revolvers knee. Dropping him to the ground howling in pain. His weapon forgotten as she clutches at a leg that's bent at a very unnatural angle.

Another thug swings a metal baseball bat. A blow hard enough to whistle through the air. It meets the metal armoured glove... And stops dead with a clunk.

"You had to make this difficult didn't you?" Her gloved fist squeezes and the bat crumples under the force.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd watches and finds himself impressed at the athleticism involved. When the bat is stopped and crushed it begins to get more interesting. He revved his bike and rolled quickly out of the alleyway coming to a stop some ten meters from the current display of intimidation.

He leans forward, forearms resting on the handle bars as he watches her get to work on these poor saps.

"Don't mind me. My boy isn't here yet so I've got plenty of time to watch someone else with skills in action."

Violet Paige has posed:
Three of the thugs seem to react when Jason rocks up on his bike. They don't seem like they believe he'll stay out of the fight. And figure if he's going to sit there they might as well take a few shots. Maybe get lucky!

Unfortunately it's dark and they're pretty drunk. So at best they're going to make a lot of noise. Not that anyone in this part of Gotham will even get out of bed for a few gunshots...

Mother Panic on the other hand seems too distracted to chat.

The ruined metal bat is swung, along with the thug still clutching onto it, so the owner takes a wind up blow from his buddys brass knuckles. Then a shove sends the both of them sprawling backwards. Leaving six more crowding round her. Hardly fair odds.

But a Gotham Vigilante doesn't generally play fair either. Violet takes a few glancing punches and kicks as they try mob her. Probably going to have some nasty bruises in the morning. But her knee drives up into a thugs groin causing him to squeek in pain. One head gets slammed into the side of another, sending both thugs stumbling away with concussions.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd would have been content to just watch. Then they had to go and take some shots toward him.

The shots do go wide, but one streaks by close enough he can feel the shockwave. That leaves him in a bad mood. "See. Now you had to go and make it personal." He swung off the bike, drawing his guns as he does so. He takes aim and fires off a volley of rounds, taking down two of the thugs behind the vigilante in white. The rounds strike true and the two thugs twitch and spasm, dropping to the ground and out of the fight. It was another concession to Bruce; Non lethal taser rounds. It wasn't the same as just ventilating the scum. But it was close.

Violet Paige has posed:
Mother Panic, now only facing three of the most wiley thugs, seems to be trying to close things out. The two thugs with concussions stagger away and make a run for it. While groin kick falls over and joins broken leg on the ground.

Of those stupid enough to shoot at Jason the two hit seem entirely out. While the third, such a bad shot he may not have registered, throws his pistol into a dumpster and runs. Shouting something about getting back to his poor sick mother.

The last three, clever enough to let the others take the initial blows, spread out to circle her. There's the flash of a big wicked looking hunting knife, followed by a chemical HISS, and a clang. "She's got fuckin' /ACID/ on me?!" he wails. "Go on get the bitch!" Before retreating towards the bar. Hopefully inside there will be something to wash it off. Not that Mother Panic cares. With a boxing stance she lunges towards the bigger of the remaining two and batters him down with a flurry of blows from the oversized gauntlets.

Before the lone goon can flee she hauls the guy she's just beaten bloody over her head and throws him. Sending the guy tumbling in a pile of twisted limbs.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd wasn't really in a catch and release sort of mood now that they had shot at him. Toward him. Kind of near him. God their aim had been pretty pathetic. The two that are likely to be sporting concussions are shot in the back so they can have muscle spasms to go with.

"See. Just because you tossed your gun away does not make you safe." He fires three shots into that idiot's back and takes him down. As he had casually as he shot the men so, too, doe he reload casually. There has been no indication of actual bodily harm coming his direction so why get too amped up?

As he locks the clips home, he looks toward Mother Panic as she sends her guy flying into the lsat would be escapee.

"Pretty sure there isn't enough pain killers for that feeling in the morning."

Red Hood looks to Mother Panic. "So hi there. Welcome to Gotham. Red Hood. Have to say I think I'm already a fan. Impressive work, really." A nod of his masked head is offered. His guns are still drawn but at least they're currently aimed at the ground.

Violet Paige has posed:
Violet Paige starts to tear open pockets and scatter the contents of the thugs empty wallets around. Her gauntlets too bulky for checking for wallets without wrecking the fabric as she hunts for ID.

"Damn it he's not here," she snarls, giving one of the thugs who made the poor decision of stirring in his unconcioius state a kick for good measure. "You see any more of them?"

The introduction seems secondary to whatever mission she's on. A few taps on her wrist and the flying vehicle, some sort of advanced skybike, swoops down and hovers a good ten foot above her.

"Welcome to Gotham huh? You know it's a free city," she points out. Even if everyone knows that for costumed types it really is anything but free. You're here with Batmans permission or you're getting moved on fast. "And I'm not doing this to start a fan club." She pauses. "You ever heard of anyone who worked at Gather House?"

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd laughs. "Oh it's a free city. Till Batman gets wind of your work. Then you'll find out how he expects things to be done." A shrug, "Not all of us quite play by those rules but a good faith effort is expected. Just the way it goes. Figure you're new enough, call it less a warning and more of a... professional courtesy."

A head shake, "Can't say as I have, sorry." And given her flighty seeming nature he snags a few still shots with his helmet's camera.

"That some sort of rival to Waffle House?" It isn't really funny but it was the best he had in the moment.

Violet Paige has posed:
Glowing pink LEDs across the mouth portion of the helmet light up, forming a pattern that suggests an angry face, and Mother Panic shrugs. "He can expect all he fucking wants," she mutters. Still checking ID. "I'm not letting anyone or anything get between me and my goal."

She tilts her head to one side. "You don't know anything about it. Then you're no use to me." She considers Red Hood some more. "We going to have a problem here?"

Jason Todd has posed:
Those LEDs will interest some in the Fam, that's for sure. "Oh he'll expect it. Thing is? He gets it." A shrug, "I can think of a few uses." Flippant to the last. "You got a name you care to share or should I just call you DeadMau5?" Because the LEDs, right? It's not any funnier when it's explained.

"But no. No problems here. You're cleaning up the trash for your own reasons. You stay on that side of the fence with the citizenry and away from the regular Joes and Janes and you can break all the bones and heads you want, as far as I'm concerned. Again. Not me you have to worry about judging you." He holsters his guns and turns back to his bike. "I expect your little demonstration here scared off my boy. Or the gunshots did. Either way, good luck finding your waffles."

Violet Paige has posed:
Violet Paige stamps on the trigger hand of one of the goons. Was he trying to reach for a weapon? Maybe? Or was she just showing she's pissed off. Also maybe. Probably more likely actually.

"A name?" She pauses. Up until now no-one has really asked for an alias. The goons she'd run into were too busy coughing up blood and teeth after. "Mother Panic."

And with that she jumps, vertically up, in a way that no baseline Human could manage. Grabs the sky bike and hauls herself into the seat. The skybike seems more than able to roar off before she's even in a position to drive. Remote controlled perhaps? Clearly she's not running around with off the rack vigilante gear. She's packing high end tech more than willing to use it.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason Todd watches as she finishes off the idiot trying for a weapon after all he'd been through. Mother Panic. Then she's gone before he can really reply.

Watching her go airborne and race off on a flying bike he shakes his head, "He's really not going to like this." There is a hint of plesaure in admitting that. As if he can't wait to stir up more trouble. But in the nicest possible way. They were all family after all.
