Cast of Characters: Vivian Vision, Felicia Hardy

Vivian Vision has posed:
Usually the Avengers Kitchen is an orderly place. Many of the dishes put together either by a team of trained professionals or by automated AI controlled systems. But today it's home to the Mansions temporary guest Vivian Vision. Who just so happens to be hiding from a very angry Kryptonian who is rather unhappy with her.

One of the many things Viv is beginning to understand is being a young superhero creates a certain level of drama.

And the best way to take your mind off drama? Well a quick search of the internet suggested keeping yourself busy.

Which is why there's a rather strong smell of freshly baked cake filling the air. Not just the one cake though. Several. Not quite enough for Lex Luthor to try and steal, but probably rather more than any one super team needs...

Felicia Hardy has posed:
As if moving on a cloud, Felicia enters the kitchin with her nose up and the a LOOONG sniff. "Oh my." She whispers to herself as she's finally tracked down the source of the aroma. "That smells delectable." The thief notes with a smirk as she takes time to open her eyes and give her attention over to the android.

"You don't normally cook... do you?" Felicia asks as she steps over to the place the silverware is kept and after pulling out a pair of forks, she shuts it with a flick of her hip to push the drawer closed. Next she grabs a pair of plates and moves closer towards Viv and her concoctions.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision doesn't glance up from her work. Using inhuman precision to ice the latest creation. "I actually cook quite a lot," she replies after a long pause. "I don't eat what I cook. But over at GIRL I try and make sure everyone has healthy snacks available. It helps concentration when we're doing a research project."

She adds the last flourish to the icing pattern. An abstract series of loops and whirls which she's calculated to give the ideal balance to the thickness of the cake.

"At first I was just making a coffee and walnut cake. But then I thought what if someone had a nut allergy? So I made a regular coffee cake.. Then I remembered gluten can also cause people problems and made gluten free cake.. And now I am wondering what someone who does not like coffee would have..."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"I'm shocked." Felicia says, setting one plate down and then moving backwards to put the other plate back away. She was about to be polite, but now she figures she doesn't have to help Vivian prepare her own food. "If someone doesn't like coffee Viv, we politely but firmly ask them to leave. They're obviously something unfathomable." Felicia says with a playful wink as she steps to stand next to Viv and bumps shoulders and hips, "Would you like a second set of hands to help?"

Vivian Vision has posed:
The Synthezoid teenager seems a little bit blank for a moment. And then the hip bump seems to jolt Viv back to alertness. "Honestly? They are largely completed except for the cutting of slices," she says. Giving them a critical look. "I must admit I am.. not having a very good week."

She silently sends a signal to the coffee machine. Instructing it to begin brewing a pot.

"Please feel free to help yourself." She blinks a few times, then lowers her voice. "Have... have any of your friends ever threatened to kill you before?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Felicia doesn't seem to notice the lack of presentness by Vivian, or if she does she doesn't seem to be acknowledging it. Maybe the thief isn't exactly all that perceptive. But that makes little sense.

"I'll help myself, for sure, but I'm watching my intake, y'know." She says with a hand on her bottom and a frown in the direction of her curves. "Those cat suits aren't free." She says with a sorrowful sort of smirk before her attention is fully on Vivian, and she cants her head slightly, hair falling off her shoulder as a waterfall would.

"Never really had friends to threaten me, but I've been threatened before..." Felicia notes as she seems to no longer worry about coffee cake.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision tilts her head a little and forces a smile. "It would take more than few slices of cake to harm your figure," she assures. "And being a superhero burns a lot of calories. Probably as many as being a good thief would."

She turns side on to face Felicia and then leans against the side of the counter.

Her mouth opens, then closes, then finally after a drawn out moment she admits "It's sort of a long story. If you are okay to listen...?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Felicia waves off the figure comment with a wave of her hand towards Viv but she doesn't mention it further instead she shrugs and then mimics Vivian with the quarter spin and leaning against the counter. One hand moving to prop her up but leaving one shoulder lifted high and near her ear. Can't be THAT comfortable, but maybe she needs to lean. "As long as I'm not about to watch the lord of the bracelets extended edition." Feli smirks and winks before adding, "Go ahead. What's going on that's got my favorite all worked up?"

Vivian Vision has posed:
"I asked Supergirl to be an art model for me," Vivian explains slowly. "And it was.. well I think we both had fun. We talked a lot about being in unique situations on Earth. I learned a lot about her culture and the drawing came out really well." She blushes a little. "I even followed your advice about being more confident about picking things like the pose."

She idly begins twirling her hair around her finger.

"The next time I saw her she basically treated me like a laptop. Requests for information. Acting mean. And when I raised concerns with the Titans that something was wrong... She threatened to kill me."

She sighs.

"I know something is wrong with her. And I don't want to blame her for something I'm sure she didn't want to say. But..."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"Supergirl..." Felicia says only after Vivian finished her story and the blonde's eyes squint sharply as she turns her head in the direction to the door and a fist clenches. "I mean, if she said something hurtful and ... threatened to kill you..." Felicia's mind is racing a million miles an hour as she's trying to think of who would be so rude to this sweet girl before her.

A pause and Felicia takes a moment to catch her breath and holds it before looking back to Vivian, "Would you like me to speak with her?"

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision almost jolts when Felicia offers to speak to Kara. "Ohgoshno," she blurts out. "It's not. She's /dangerous/. The Titans have her in containment. I was checking the security feeds earlier. Last time I saw her in person she was threatening to kill someone called M. And in the security footage she had blood over her."

She actually takes a step away from the counter. As if she was worried Felicia was about to head to the door.

"It's why I know she's not herself. Well that and I review data on how people talk, stand and move. Just in case they are actually a doppelganger or a clone."

"It's why I'm here. Because even I'd be no threat to her. And I can't stay at my boarding school even outside of term time. It'd put too many people at risk."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"You know I dated Power Girl right? They're supposed to be similar. I'm not exactly afraid of people..." Felicia nods with a tap to her temple and then Vivan is moving to stand between herself and the door. "You really don't want m-anyone to go near her..." Felicia says, feeling a pang in her chest, she's not used to people actively caring about her enough like that. It makes the thief pause and think.

She chews softly on her bottom lip in thought as she blinks towards Vivian, but not breaking eye contact. "Okay. I wont go. But I still want to help you. And her if possible."

Vivian Vision has posed:
There's a little shake of her head. "I don't think I know anything about your romantic history," Viv admits. "I suppose I figured it was quite glamorous. But I did know Supergirl and Power Girl are connected. Something complicated about dimensions. We didn't go into the science just..." She coughs a little. "It came up in conversation while I was drawing."

Her head turns towards the coffee machine.

"A little company and conversation would be appreciated. In the past I've made some.. unwise decisions when my friends are in danger. You should have seen the mess I made when I borrowed a Red Room plane. I am equal parts ashamed and proud."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"Darling." Felicia says and tries to reach out to Vivian, offer her an embrace, but she doesn't force it upon Vivian, just, giving her the option. "But yeah, I'll stick around for a while and chat, not like I have anything to do for a while." The thief notes and shrugs a shoulder before motioning towards the kitchen table not far away and fairly private at the moment. "I'm here for you, friend and all." Felicia says with a concern tinted smile.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision seems to accept the hug, if a little awkwardly. "You dated Power Girl huh?" she muses. "That must have been unique. It's so easy to think of Kryptonians just like Humans with powers. But there is a whole other culture they have. Did you know they didn't make art? Not at all."

Once the hug is over she heads over to the table and takes a seat. The coffee machine has by now brewed up a fresh pot. Thank to the wonders of wireless connections.

"I think that's why she wanted to model. It was something new."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"I don't think Peegee knew any of that, but it was fun, while it lasted." Felicia notes as she squeezes against Viv and wraps her arms around the synthezoid. "I enjoyed modelling for you, but that's not here nor there." Felicia shrugs and lets go, "But my history isn't what we're talking about, is it. What's going on with you, you don't feel guilty over this Supergirl thing, do you?"

Vivian Vision has posed:
"At first I did," Vivian concedes. "I thought she was being mean because she had changed her mind and was upset with me." She pouts. "See we had this conversation where we both complained a little about how people sometimes say things they don't really mean. And how confusing it can be. So I proposed the idea we would just be totally honest with each other."

She rolls her shoulders a little. A sort of 'And then you know what' gesture.

"I know /now/ it wasn't my fault. But I recall everything perfectly. So I keep thinking over and over if there was something I could have said or done differently."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"So you /know/ but you don't 'feel' it in your heart persay, right?" Felicia asks, moving to sit down at the table, not nearly as helpful as she would prefer, thinking a couch where she could hug her friend would be better, but this will have to do. Much more platonic.

"I don't think you should dwell so much on it, but I know how hard that is to do beyond saying it." Felicia frowns and chews on her lip again. "I do know worrying about possibilities or changes in the past is only going to cause you strife and pain."

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision considers the question. "Mostly I feel powerless," she decides. "I don't even really know the right types of science to help figure out what's wrong. My friend Val has loaded me up with tech from the Fantastic Four just in case I'm attacked. And I'd still get my butt kicked if she was here."

"I'm used to feeling pretty much invulnerable. I've fought all sorts of villains and monsters. And never even broken a nail."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"You're not powerless." Felicia says, putting her hands on the table top, and leaning into it so she can be that much closer to Viv. Felicia's love language very well may be touch, so that's where her mind goes when she's trying to help and console friends. "Do you have nails to break?" Felicia asks idly with a smirk before taking a deeper breath.

    "Are you afraid?"

Vivian Vision has posed:
"Of course I have nails," Viv assures, holding both her hands out for inspection. She does indeed have nails. They're so neat they may as well have been cut with a laser. "That.. was not a serious question was it. Of course you know I have nails."

She chews at her lip. "Afraid? I think so. Not just because I might get hurt. I'm worried my friend might not.. you know... that she can't be fixed. And even if she can will we still be friends afterwards?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Felicia smiles at Vivian and her nail concern, but then the young girl is back to worrying about her friend. The ploy of distracting only working for the briefest of moments. "I am sorry, but those aren't things we can know. You can fight to get her back, but maybe she is simply different now, and maybe you wont be friends any more even if you do get her back." Felicia says, frowning, as she's not as optimistic about people like pretty much everyone else around her would be.

"I mean, I do hope people can change, but sometimes that means for the worse..." The blonde says with a sorrowful shrug.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision sighs. "I mean," she starts, drumming her fingers against the table. "You changed for the better right? Before you were technically a supervillain. And now you're helping the Avengers."

"I can just try and focus on the things I /can/ do now. Like... I already told her I forgave her for saying she'd kill me. And at least the Titans have contacts with therapists and other specialists who can help her recovery."

Her fingers drum a little faster. "This might be a silly question but.. I sort of get the sense that sometimes when I ask things about you the topic gets changed before I even realise. I can't tell if you like being mysterious or if I'm asking things I should not."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"Focusing on the things you /can/ sounds perfect. Not just for now, but in general. Don't worry about things you can't affect, right?" Felicia muses and then pulls her hands back, suddenly feeling like she's being defensive when she hadn't before.

Maybe it's never been pointed out that she is often aloof. "I do that?" Felicia asks, frowning back towards Vivian, and then she flashes back to that night at Sara's where they both started yelling and crying at each other out of no where. "hmm." the cat muses. "I-maybe you're right."

Vivian Vision has posed:
"I don't mean it as a bad thing," Vivian assures. "I'm really just worried I am sometimes asking things you find too personal. Mysterious is sort of... you know. Exciting? I don't really know a lot about you." She blinks a few times. "Except I think you're a good person." She makes a little cough. "And that you probably have never had to buy your own drinks in a bar. /Ever/."

"If you ever need to confide in someone about your problems I will happily listen. I can encrypt my memories so you can be assured of the utmost discretion."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"That's ... oddly unsettling." Felicia says towards Viv "In regards to the encryption... I wouldn't ever ask you to password protect memories on my behalf, that's... weird." Felicia then softly smiles, wanting to touch to comfort Viv, but she finds herself realizing that is likely not Viv's idea of comfort.

"I don't think you've intruded upon my feelings or personal information." Felicia then shrugs softly, "You're fine, and if I feel like I'm pulling back, let me know. I want to be more open. At least with you and the people I care about."

Vivian Vision has posed:
"It's a very simple way of explaining it," Vivian explains. "Like... It's more... Actually the way my mind works is so different I'm struggling to think up an example. I simply set conditions upon which knowledge is widely distributed through my decision making process. It's.. like how you don't constantly think about the password for your computer. It's just pushed to the front of your mind when you need it."

She forces a smile.

"When my twin died I promised myself I would never delete any memories. Making them secure is not.. I'm not /losing/ anything. So you don't need to worry."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"I'm gonna worry about that Viv." Felicia says and stands up from the table, moving around to stand next to Viv in her chair and then squats down to be closer to eye level. "Still not going to ask you to encrypt anything for me. I'm not important enough to worry that much over." Felicia says, and then hugging Vivian again.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Viv doesn't seem particularly uncomfortable with physical contact. A little rigid compared to an organic perhaps. But there's a certain degree of care any superstrong being has to take when in close contact with people! So it's not unexpected. There is a little hint of blushing though.

"I can turn my emotions off entirely if I want," she admits. "That's probably what people should worry about. When I first woke up I couldn't really handle how everyone I grew up with wasn't even real. So I turned my emotions off and... when I finally stopped my Great Aunt Nadia was kidnapped and I was... really angry. Not Hulk angry but maybe almost start a war with a nuclear super power angry."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"You said you wanted to be more able to experience the life of a human, turning off your emotions isn't the way to achieve your goals." Felicia notes with a frown, and pulls herself away from hugging Vivian maternally. She can't help the way she's made. "That sounds awfully angry... it's okay to be angry, that's part of being alive." Felicia tries to explain.

Vivian Vision has posed:
"That's one of the reasons I began my art project," Viv agrees with a nod. "I thought it would be a healthy way to engage my emotions and get comfortable experiencing everything." There's a wry grin. "It sort of backfired a little I guess."

"I think the theory is still sound though. Even if a lot of the time the emotions I'm experiencing aren't really the ones I thought I would feel."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"Wait, you think her being a model for you made her go crazy?" Felicia asks, and then squints up towards Vivian as she stays squat on her heels. "Then maybe you should use models you know wont be turning mad at you, or if they do, you can handle beating them up. Though I'm no slouch myself." She says with a smirk.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision laughs. "Oh. I did at /first/," she explains. "Initially it was just my friend being mean. And the only thing which had changed was that. So... It was a logical thing to consider." She blushes a little. "I meant more that... I didn't really consider that I might get flustered drawing people who were posing."

"I could have started out with something a little less complex like fruit."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"I need you to stop blaming yourself okay. I doubt this whole Supergirl thing turning evil has anything to do with her being a model for you. I mean, if it did, I'd be evil too. And I think I'm pretty cool." Felicia says with a smile as she stands back up to her full height and would love to hug Viv again, but thinks better of it, maybe the girl has had enough touch for today.

Vivian Vision has posed:
"It is highly improbable my art is the root cause," Vivian agrees. "I've drawn plenty of people who did not turn evil. Or even start treating me differently afterwards. Logically I agree totally. It's the emotional side which is harder to convince."

She tilts her head when Felicia steps back. "You know. I don't mind the hugs. If that is what you are worried about. I'm not used to close physical contact but I do not.. you know.. find it makes me uncomfortable." She gives another smile. "I think cool is probably a little commonplace a word. You kind of remind me of a femme fatale. But without the implication of being a little bit evil."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
Felicia flips her hair behind her shoulder with a hand and an attempt to look like a shampoo commercial. "I'll take femme fatale, but I'm not really all that fatal." Felicia says with a wink and a bit of a giggle. "And you can't deny, the evil costumes are usually a tad bit sexier than their heroic counterparts. No?" Felicia asks teasingly before she moves away to finally grab a slice of coffee cake.

Vivian Vision has posed:
"You will laugh but... That was how I figured something was wrong with Supergirl," Vivian confesses. "She was standing with her hips at an angle which was.. forward." She hmmms. "I don't know that many of the villains I have fought have had costumes like that. Most were Russian spies or giant monsters. I do not want to think about a sea monster in a catsuit."

She turns on the chair.

"It might be asking a lot but.. you mentioned you didn't mind modelling for my drawing. Would you be okay helping with an experiment? It would be a good distraction to draw someone. And it would work as a way to confirm that the art is unrelated to the situation...." She spares a glance for the line of cakes she's made. "Also if I remain in the kitchen much longer the Avengers will need to assemble in the gym."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"Oooh, science experiment with ... my redemption in the balance. I'm down." Felicia says taking a fork with a sliver of cake up to her mouth and savoring the flavors for a few moments before she looks back to Vivian.

"Oh, do you mean now? I'm interested! Let me finish my cake and go get a better outfit or do you have something specific in mind?"

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision gestures at the cake as if to say 'help yourself'. There's also that pot of coffee in need of drinking. Ideal for serving with the cake.

She might not eat or drink. But Viv seems to have a knack for pairing flavors. Plus she's more than willing to recreate a dish over and over until she gets it down perfect. And there's always a supply for eager taste testers at GIRL & Titans Tower.

"I do have something in mind. I'll need to get my art supplies first though. I shall meet you shortly once you've finished?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"Yeah, I wont keep you waiting for long." Felicia warns with a grin, as she takes another bite and then stands to grab a mug of coffee to eat with the cake. Suddenly Felicia is in heaven and is beyond a content cat.
