Date of Scene: 09 July 2022
Location: Sherwood Florist, First Floor
Synopsis: Arthur and Dinah have some quality time at the florist shop.
Cast of Characters: Arthur Curry, Dinah Lance

Arthur Curry has posed:
"You can use it whenever you like." Arthur's voice reaches across the room of the small flower shop with little effort. He just has one of those deep, resonant, rumbling voices that can carry across a Bronx train in the middle of the work day.
"I know it's not convenient, since yeah it's in Maine and all. But if you're ever up there you don't have to ask." Arthur straightens up from trying his hand at putting those roses all in a nice little line. It makes sense to his not too terribly discerning eye and might be an affront to anyone with actual training in horticulturally inclined decor, but he tries.
Then he turns, "Though I suppose I could look into getting a place in the area." Arthur dusts his hands on his 'Sherwood Florist' smock as he turns around and looks across the way at her.
"Or, at least one that's not underwater."

Dinah Lance has posed:
"It's true I don't go up there very often," Dinah admitted as she continued working on an arrangement herself. This one was for a conference event and would be the centerpiece for the main table. She also would need to work on a few smaller arrangements for the regular tables. "But I appreciate the offer."

He already had a key to her place so she considered his offer. "You don't have to get a place, you know. You are welcome to just stay here if you want. Unless it's a privacy thing. I understand if it is." She glanced over at him, short dark hair loose. No wig in sight when she was working at the shop. She was dressed casually in a pair of jeans with a white button up shirt, the shop apron over it.

Arthur Curry has posed:
"Ehn," He gives in reply, ever so succinct. "I have this vague notion, like a ticker in my head when I consider things." Arthur Curry smirks as he grabs the small green water jug and starts to water the window display, not a lot since he knows that some of these plants need just a smidge or so.
"I think to myself what are the fringe benefits that Dinah gets from datin' me." He twists around and points in her direction, "Since this stuff is important. It's all about the perks, you see. I know that's how people operate. It's how Br... how some league people get so much attention. Like now you're all fine with me just having a lighthouse in Maine."
His lip twists but he's facing the plants and the outside world so hiding it rathe well, "But later on you'll ask yourself, 'Though if I started to date a bat person I could get free rides in the Batmobile. Or trips to the Arrowcave, or whatever." He lightly taps a finger to the side of his head as if he had it all figured out.

Dinah Lance has posed:
"Fringe benefits? Outside getting to spend time with you and having a good time with that?" Dinah says as she looks at him curiously, tilting her head to the side slightly.

"I mean there are the obvious benefits I get," she said with that smirk turning positively naughty. "Then there is also my using your celebrity status in order to improve my bottom line here at the shop. Which you are getting literally no benefits, outside the fun of my company, from dating me. I mean, I am guessing you consider the benefits you are getting out of this in your pondering, right?"

Arthur Curry has posed:
"Oh yeah," Arthur says as he turns around and grins, spreading his arms wide. "Access to the..." He glances around and lowers his voice, "The Canarycycle. Dropping a certain famous vigilante's name when I'm making dinner reservations. There's the ummm..."
He walks closer and grins, stopping in front of her and resting his hands on her hips as he grins, casually turning her a little left... a little right, as if they were starting a small dance. "The Canary Satellite, helps me get free cable?"
His smile widens as those vibrant blue eyes look up and up, "The Canary Signal lets me know when you need help?" It's clear he's reaching.
"Other than that," His lip curves up, "No idea why I stay in this relationship. Why don't you remind me?" He says as he leans in to touch a small kiss to her brow, very easy considering their height difference.

Dinah Lance has posed:
"You obviously have me mixed up with Batman. It's an easy mistake. He looks almost as good in fishnets, I'm sure," Dinah said as she slipped her arms around his shoulders, moving with him in that little sway back and forth dance like move they were doing.

"Although I do like the ring of Canarycycle. I may need to use that in the future," she decides with a soft laugh. Then she rises up on tiptoe, tightening those arms around his neck to try to pull herself in reach. Be it climbing him like a jungle gym or him bending to meet her halfway, she was up for either option. Her intention was for a kiss.

Arthur Curry has posed:
A small kiss, just a touch of lips shared then hands settled lightly on the small of her back. It was a lovely moment that drifted off with some time as they enjoyed that casual intimacy, then it broke as he leaned back to smile into her eyes, his head tilted low to catch her eyes.
"Oh man, I think my boss just made a pass at me." He kisses the corner of her mouth softly, affectionately before he leans back and half-grins into her eyes.
"Time to call HR." Shaking his head sadly he bites his lower lip. "Though hm, maybe a raise might convince me not to."

Dinah Lance has posed:
"Sadly, Sherwood Florist only has me for the HR department, supervisor and CEO. I find your complaint invalid since I am positive that you reciprocated." She pursed her lips a little, making smoochy noises. "Yup, you definitely kissed back."

Though she does consider his last comment. "You know, considering I'm not really paying you officially, I probably should pay you more. You're getting me some tidy profits with those walk-ins." Sad but true. A pretty face worked. And since women tended to be the ones ordering flowers for occassions, not just an anniversary or Valentine's, it really worked out.

Arthur Curry has posed:
"I'm willing to settle out of court for..." Arthur lifts his eyes upward as he ponders, brow furrowing in thought as he raises a hand to go through the motions of doing some arithmetic, perhaps carrying the one, then looking for the least common denominator. "Twice as much as I'm making now."
With a solid nod he meets her gaze again, "So there, take it or leave it." He grins as he squeezes her hip with one hand then steps to the side to walk toward the other window of roses, taking the little green waterspout with him to do his job.
Over his shoulder he says, "You should take the deal, you're getting off easy." As he says that he gives a nod and then pours some more water on those plants in the display area.

Dinah Lance has posed:
"Seriously, Arthur," Dinah says as he wanders off to water the displays. She picks up a few lilies and considers the display in front in front of her. But her attention quickly goes back to him.

"You've been helping me a lot. I know we joke about it all but I do think I should put you on the payroll. Of course, how does that work? Are you considered a U.S. citizen or do you have like a work visa? Or do I need to pay you under the counter?"

Arthur Curry has posed:
"Nah, then I'd have to actually file taxes... and get a social security card... and deal with the government." Shaking his head Arthur makes a face, "If you insisted on paying me I'd totally quit."
Which has him smiling as he continues to water the plants, though it doesn't take that long. He ends up wandering back to the register area and setting the waterspout down and leaning there against the counter top. "And then they'd try to economically quantify my star power or something, which would probably make me super depressed when I inevitably compare it with Supes."
Though the half-smile he wears might make it seem like that's not the case at all. "So really you're doing me a favor by not paying me."

Dinah Lance has posed:
"Don't be silly. In a comparison of you and Superman, you would win every single day," Dinah says. Perhaps the oddest thing about it is she actually means it. Superman is indeed amazing. No doubt about that. But he's also like the biggest boy scout on the planet.

Boy scouts didn't appeal to Dinah. She needed some bad boy in there. Arthur had that in spades.

She went back to finishing the arrangements, tucking the lillies in here and there where they looked the best. It wasn't really a science. This was more just the feel and an idea of what is pleasing to the eye. Once those were done, it was time for the baby's breath.

Arthur Curry has posed:
"See, I knew I saw something in you." Arthur says as he strolls by and lays a kiss on her cheek before he starts the tromp toward the stairs. "I'll get started on dinner." And with that he starts to stomp stomp stomp up the steps.
