The Future Future Foundation
Date of Scene: 17 April 2020
Location: Fantastic Four Inc. - Four Freedoms Plaza
Synopsis: Jennifer Walters comes looking for the founders of the Future Foundation and is surprised to find it isn't Sue and Reed.
Cast of Characters: Valeria Richards, Jennifer Walters

Valeria Richards has posed:
Four Freedoms Plaza. A beacon of the bright hope for the future in the middle of New York City. Or, depending on who you ask, a beacon of temptation for increasingly ridiculous supervillains to break out the property damage and go bananas, but those people are pessimists.

On the other hand of the spectrum are the Fantastic Four - the first family of superheroics. And science. And...well, just about anything they can get into. On a normal day, at least some of the family can be found in the towers, working on some new wonder of science.

At the moment, Valeria is working on something a little less scientific and a little more mundane. If she wants to make a go of this Future Foundation thing, she's going to have to prove to her parents that it's actually thought out. Which means a good deal of paperwork.

Jennifer Walters has posed:
A black Cadillac pulls up in front of Four Freedoms Plaza. The media also pulls up in front and behind the car, several people hopping out and rush to the Cadillac like rabbits. A man in sunglasses exits the Cadillac and smiles at the media, "Hey guys, you stopping here too?" he asks. Could he be an actor or a politician? The Spectacular She-Hulk also exits on the passenger side, all smiles!

"Thanks for the lift, Tom," Jennifer says to the man, "I'm going to head inside and ask the Fantastic Four about those rumors I told you about."

"Oh sure, no problem. Let me fend off these musrats and I'll join you later on," the man tells Jennifer, "Hey guys, be polite now. Let me guess, you've got some questions," he adds.

Jennifer walks into the hopeful Plaza building and takes the elevator up to find the Fantastic Four. She looks around.

Valeria Richards has posed:
For most people it's not easy to get up to the family. But for known members of the heroic community, things run a little bit more smoothly. There's a pause on the elevator when she steps on, long enough for a camera to activate and send a ping up to the apartments. Valeria hops out of her chair to check the screen on her end, brows rising slightly before she approves the command to bring it up.

When Jen reaches the living quarters, Valeria is waiting, hands clasped lightly behind her back. She looks completely different from the young woman at the party, in jeans, t-shirt, and hoodie with her hair down. "Hi," she greets with a swift smile. "Welcome. What can we do for you?"

Jennifer Walters has posed:
As Jennifer is stopped once, twice, and five times, she takes it all in stride. "I think there's some new security measures," she says as she glances behind her at the entrance, then looks back at the mysterious Valeria, "I'm Jennifer Walters. Have we met before? I can't remember," she asks, "I used to sub for Ben when he was out a while back," she explains.

Jennifer is dressed in her business casuals and smiles at Valeria as she says, "I was looking for Reed or Sue. I heard you guys were going to save the world without me."

Valeria Richards has posed:
"Yeah, they've gotten a little bit weird about visitors lately," Valeria rolls her eyes. Certainly not at all because of a certain teleporting friend of hers. Just because parents are weird like that.

"I know who you are," she nods, grin flashing as she takes a step forward to offer a hand. "Hi. I'm Valeria. Dad's probably in the lab as usual, but I'm not sure where Mom's at right now. I'm not sure what the current world-saving plan is either," she admits, glancing over her shoulder in case her mother is walking up and not invisible while doing it.

Jennifer Walters has posed:
"Alright, well that's fine, maybe you can take a message or find some info for me," Jennifer tells Valeria as she walks over and stands next to her. She glances off into the distance as the girl talks about Invisible Mom and Lab Dad. "Call me Jennifer," she tells her and looks back with a smile, "Rumors are rumors. Well okay, if nobody's around, I guess I'll come back later then."

Valeria Richards has posed:
"I mean, I might know," Valeria says quickly when Jen makes to leave, brows rising. "What about rumors? Come on in," she adds, waving toward the living room and taking a few steps in that direction herself before checking to see if she's being followed.

"I'm not a kid anymore," she adds, in the phrase most likely to make it sound like she absolutely is.

Jennifer Walters has posed:
Jennifer veers away from the door and heads down the opposite hallway nosily, "Alright!" she calls out, then looks back up the hallway to see if Valeria is following her, "Is Reed down here?" she wonders, poking her head into one room, "Nope!" she says and then tries another one but finds it decked out with security, so she can't go that way, "Rumors of a Fantastic Foundation?"

Valeria Richards has posed:
"Uh, where are you-" Valeria does an about face, following bemusedly after Jen. "He's literally built extra-dimensional space into the building," she notes as she follows along, putting her hands into her pockets. "He could be pretty much anywhere. Do you mean the Future Foundation?" she asks, apparently now content to take her time and see how the other woman reacts.

Jennifer Walters has posed:
Jennifer Walters jiggles the handle on the locked door a few times and then squints, trying to peer through the shaded glass. She then looks concerned, "Extra-dimensional security? I'm not going to get sucked into a portal, am I?" she wonders. She then glances back at Valeria and asks, "What? Yeah, I heard about the Fantastic Foundation and I was wondering why you guys didn't ask me to help? I'm so upset," she chuckles amusedly and grins.

Valeria Richards has posed:
"Depends on which door you open," Valeria says matter-of-factly. "Dad doesn't always update the rest of the house on what's behind certain doors. But the Future Foundation's my project, actually," she points out, smile crooked. "So that's probably why Mom or Dad didn't call you. I'm kind of still in the...planning and set-up stage."

Jennifer Walters has posed:
Jennifer Walters puts a hand on her hip and smiles, "Your project?" she wonders, as if she didn't know and it was a little bit of a surprise to her.

"Well, I'm looking for the wrong person then," Jennifer says and chuckles, "I think I can help out."

Valeria Richards has posed:
"I mean, I'm sure they'll be involved." If Valeria does this right, they'll at least be funding it! "But yeah, it was my idea. I'm just trying to structure things now. I was actually working on that when you got here," she points out, sticking her thumb back down the hall and taking a few backwards steps to see if she follows this time.

"I'm definitely open to help. Though..." Her smile quirks again. "I'm not //planning// on needing a lot of smashing. But I understand you've got other skills too."

Jennifer Walters has posed:
Jennifer Walters wrinkles her nose as Valeria sums her up in just a few simple words, "Smashing...?" she wonders, "Is that all you guys think I can do...?" she asks disappointedly. She crosses her arms and doesn't say anything then says, "That Hulk Smash t-shirt was stupid popular last year..." she mutters.

Valeria Richards has posed:
"Hey, I said I heard you had other skills," Valeria points out as she heads back toward the living room. "Besides, you're the one who filled in for Uncle Ben, and he does have a specialty," she grins over her shoulder with a playful shrug. "And besides, it's just in the planning stages right now. We can make it whatever we want it to be."

Jennifer Walters has posed:
Jennifer Walters looks unconvinced as she says, "Planning stages, right," she says and then adds, "Well since you mention it, I'm a lawyer. I'm actually due in court later on today," she explains, "Defending all those who need defending. Anyway, Thor is helping me start this charity I've been thinking of doing for a while. Oh ... and smashing. Yep," she shrugs.

Valeria Richards has posed:
"What kind of charity?" Valeria asks as she settles down at the kitchen table once more, tidying up a few loose papers. There are notes there, in a neat hand and carefully organized. She //has// been planning. This just isn't her usual activity. "I could use some legal assistance with drawing up a charter," she adds. "I've been looking at instructions of course, but...There's being smart, and then there's being smart about what to be smart about, you know?"

Jennifer Walters has posed:
Jennifer Walters looks curious, "Instructions...?" she wonders, "Why don't you let me help you with that...?" she adds helpfully. She walks to the table and looks over Valeria's shoulder, eyeing what she's doing, "But I have to get court right now, so here's my cellphone number and my office number," she tells her, giving her a little card. She thens turns to leave, "Take care now."
