Iara Dos Santos has posed:
Iara is waiting at the Wellness office for Warren when he shows up, giant triangular shark teeth biting her lower lip as he walks in and she steps forward, saying "So... Hey." she says a little quietly, and then motions for him to follow as she leads him to the far side of the office, by a window, still speaking low as she says "I wanted to talk about... y'know, the other day. With the influencer. And these... incidents with the cyborgs in general." She inhales deeply, trying to find the right words before she says with that brazillian accent, "I'm sorry if I... scared you or really seemed to... you know, lose control last time. And I mean, to be honest, I kinda did, but it's... it's less losing control entirely and more my instincts are on fire. You don't... you don't have to worry about me attacking you unless you like... grabbed my arm when I didn't know you were there, that would probably get your face bitten off, heh, but that... what you did with the whole... talking to me and kinda calming me down? That was perfect, that's exactly what you should do."

Iara averts Warren's gaze for a moment, looking at the curtains and then one of the trophies along the wall, saying "It's... hard to talk about all this though. There's camps of folks that wish they weren't a mutant, that they weren't dangerous, and I'm not one of them. I like being a wall of teeth. But I also... don't want to hurt you or anyone else on my side here, you know? So I just... I want you to know that you handled that perfectly and that I don't think I'd ever hurt you if I knew it was you, even if I was in a frenzy..."

Warren Worthington has posed:
Warren follows the young shark mutant into the Wellness office with mixed feelings. It was a place of so many ups and downs over the years. Friends critically injured and brought back, sleepless bedside nights, triumphant leavings when recoveries are made.

EWhen Iara starts sharing, he snaps back to himself. Warren sits casually on the low, wide, rich wood window sill, leaning back against the frame. His blue polo shirt contrasts with tan shorts. He flicks his phone off completely and tucks it away in a pocket.

"Iara," Warren says with a bright smike. His tone is gentle. "I'm not worried about you, just for you."

Warren runs a hand through his hair. "I just don't want you to get hurt when you're like that, take risks you shouldn't. But I trust you. I saw how you held back from the influencer."

Warren studies Iara's face a moment then glances out the window. He is already starting to forget what she looked like the first time they met.

Iara Dos Santos has posed:
Iara shakes her head, and then sighs, saying "No, Warren, you shouldn't worry about me. My only function now is violence. That's... not a bad thing, I like it, but if I was lost in a fight where I was defending... I dunno, the Professor or Dr. McCoy, someone doing real good for the world, that'd be fine, the world really won't miss me. But if my... y'know, violence, gets directed where it shouldn't... Ugh." She shakes her head, saying "I'm sorry, I'm not in a bad place I swear, I'm just... trying to come to grips with all of this and like I said, it's hard to put it all into words. I don't have a death wish, I just... I have this now, I can help make the world a better place, I just don't want to fuck up and do harm where we've already got so many enemies out there that don't need another reason..." She then looks up, saying "I guess... Damn, even putting this into words I sound bloodthirsty... but if I can stop enough bad people and not hurt any good ones as much as I can, it'll all be worth it."

She then looks at a webbed hand, saying "Again, I wouldn't change myself for anything now, but damn if I'm not built for combat. I took the skin off another student's arm brushing past them in the hallway the other day. Even my scales are a weapon. Every inch of me draws blood. And I don't have the brains or the personality for speeches so just... this is what I'm gonna do." She then inhales deeply, and that large shark snout and head nods, saying "So yeah, don't worry about me, just know you did the best thing to calm me down the other day. And I'm... glad you instinctively knew how to. That you cared enough to do so. It means a lot."

Warren Worthington has posed:
Warren reacts instinctively. He reaches his hand out to the side of Iara's large shark face, a finger's breadth away. Close enough to settle against or accept as a pure gesture. He looks into one of her eyes.

"Your only function is /not/ violence, Iara," Warren says firmly, in a quiet voice. "All these new instincts, this raw power, the frenzy, the hunger, the form, they are all you. But all that makes you want to use it to crush people threatening what is good, makes you sensitive enough to want to reassure me tonight, all the memories you have from before, the things you enjoyed and people you cared about, that's all you, too."

"Your struggle is unique, and how quickly you're accepting so much of it is wild... But you're not the first to struggle with... Not struggling with these kinds of instincts. I'm not judging you, thinking you're bloodthirsty. You're fucking Shark Girl, it's natural. Think I judge Logan?"

Warren settles back. "It means I would choose what missions I want to train you on, but how is that different than with anyone else? I chose you for that mission because I knew who we were fighting, and what that meant," Warren says, his face set uncharacteristically firmly, stern. "Not every mission matches the dream. We can't forget the dream is where we're going, not how the world is."

The sun comes out from behind a cloud. Golden light plays through the window across Warren's face, hair, feathers. The moment of coldness passes from his face as quickly as the cloud from the sun.

Iara Dos Santos has posed:
The shark's wide smile does return, saying "Yeah... Yeah, you're right. Thanks, Warren. Or... should I say Angel?" She looks outside a moment at the idyllic greens around the mansion, and says "You're... right on all fronts, really. It'll probably take me a bit to frame everything right but... Yeah." At that point the giant shark shakes her head, saying "It really is a different world now. Like they say that but... Well, it's incredible. We're really lucky to have each other and the professor here. Skin-shredding scales and all. Heh. Thanks for taking me under your wing, no pun intended." Okay, maybe a little intended.

Warren Worthington has posed:
"You're welcome. And you can call me whatever you like, Iara," Warren says with a grin.

"Oh, hey, almost forgot," Warren says. He reaches into his back pocket for a too perfectly preserved envelope that belies any forgetting. He hands the envelope to Iara.

Inside are a pair of airline tickets, but strange ones. Heavy paper, black and gold lettering. Iara's name on one, the other not filled in.

"Any real airline in the world will honor those, and they don't expire. Firdt class, you and a guest. Figured you might want to visit home sometime," Warren says with a smile. "Happy birthday."

Iara Dos Santos has posed:
There's a slow realization, but soon that shark smile gets REALLY toothy as she gasps, and then hugs Warren with a giant, super-strong bearhug, lifting the poor angel-man off his feet (and also likely reminding him of how much she smells like brine when he gets too close) as she says "Obrigado! E boa pra caramba! Ah, thank you! It's... It's amazing!" She puts him down without breaking any bones, a bit more gingerly than she picked him up, and then says "I... I don't have any family though, Warren, heh, so I might as well just take someone for a weekend trip sometime. Maybe Tabitha. I bet she'd like some pao de Queijo. It's uh... a cheese bread, they make it in little balls."

Warren Worthington has posed:
Warren is caught off guard, but laughs. He manages to look non-chalant and unruffled when Iara sets him down.

"I have never heard of that before, but I bet she would. Take her, show her around, teach her a few things about Brazil, get drunk, rock a few worlds," the winged man says with a grin. "Just go have fun."

Iara Dos Santos has posed:
Iara grins a bit mischievously at that, saying "I will. And we'll try not to make too much trouble while we're down there too..."
