Cast of Characters: Raven Darkholme, Azazel

Raven Darkholme has posed:
The island really was a beautiful, relaxing and amazing place to visit. Mystique hadn't intended to stay longer than a few days, but given she didn't have to actually pack anything more than her cell phone, she decided to stay for a week.

The first few days were spent being distracted by Azazel, anything and everything to avoid thinking about a cancelled wedding and losing Lydia. She'd seen the entire island, explored his mansion, gone swimming, and now she was stretched out on a lounge chair on the beach in the sun.She was enjoying the warmth, as she didn't really tan like normal, and her mind was finally settled into a place she could talk to Azazel about something more than the past.

Azazel has posed:
Azazel is on the next lounge chair over, also enjoying the warmth. He doesn't tan either, but lounging around the pool is one of those things you can turn into an art form when you're rich. He's always rather enjoyed decadence, so his private island in the Caribbean is stocked full of creature comforts. At the moment, he's a bit worried about Mystique as she seemed to be avoiding the subject of Lydia past her initial announcement of the relationship ending when she had called him to pick her up.

Turning his head to look at her through designer sunglasses (of course!), he tries again. "So, ready to talk about anything important yet? Not that I mind you just hanging around, but I understand it's not healthy to bottle these things up."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Turning herself slightly in the lounger so she was facing him a bit more, Mystique holds a glass of strong sweet tea with ice and a straw in hand.

"Some things are better bottled up," she states bluntly, clearly not ready to talk about some thing. "Other thing however..."

Reaching to snag a lemon off the tray on the table, she squeezes it into the iced tea. "Before calling you, I went to tell Anna-Marie what happened. When I left her room, I took a short walk around the mansion grounds, the forest really. Those trees remind me of better times with how big they are."

She sighs softly, then shoves things back down. She wasn't talking about that right now. So after a sip of the tea she continues with, "Kurt bamfed in on me, to talk to me. Actually... talk."

Azazel has posed:
One eyebrow can be seen rising from behind his Versaces. "Well, that's unexpected. I assume I'm still operating under the 'don't go near him rule?' Still, look at you talking to the kids. You could get positively domestic or something." He smirks and adds, "If we adopt a couple more, we could all live here and do some kind of Brady Bunch thing. That'd certainly confuse people."

He takes off the glasses, laying them carefully on the small table between the lounge chairs and then bamfs to a spot a couple feet above the pool, dropping into a dive that barely disturbs the water. He comes back to the surface and swims over to the edge of the pool closest to Mystique, crossing his arms on the decking while he remains in the water. "But seriously, did the talk go well?"

Raven Darkholme has posed:
The domestic talk makes her smirk and almost glare. Mystique was many things, domestic was not one of them, and her track record with children was seriously lacking.

"We are not adopting children," she states just before he 'jumps' into the water.

Once he reappears, she shifts to sit on the end of the lounge chair so she can see him. "He has decided to be Christian and forgive me," she then says, sounding doubtful and hopeful at the same time. "He wants to develop an actual relationship with me, perhaps have Christmas together... and no, I don't think he was on anything."

Another sip of tea is taken before she sets the glass on the table and stands up. "I think perhaps, he might be interested in knowing who is father is, but it is something to approach slowly. Are you actually interested in /being/ a father, or just curious about him?"

Azazel has posed:
He purses his lips as he thinks for a moment. "Honestly, I'm not sure. It's not like I have much experience with families or anything. I mean, he's already grown up, so it's not like I'd be playing catch with him or anything. So yeah, no clue what would be involved." Azazel actually considering something serous is rather a change lately, he's been doing a very good job of avoiding anything and everything that didn't involve his comfort or pleasure.

"What do you think of the situation? You've probably got a much better idea of how these things are supposed to work, so I'm pretty open to suggestions here."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Walking over to the edge of the pool, Mystique sits down to dangle her feet into the water. Reaching over, she smooths Azazel's hair back off his face, a grin playing on her lips.

"I don't think he's looking for true parenting," she says softly. "I think he's looking for the answers of where he came from. The same question many children ask, no matter their age."

Wiggling her toes a little, she looks at the movement of water, the waves from his jumping in finally settling. "To have Kurt in your life would mean you putting him first over yourself," comes her blunt statement after a moment. "I'm not saying buy him a pony or anything ridiculous like that, but for him to know who you are, that you are his father means that you would need to understand and accept what it is to have a son. I think you are more than capable of doing that."

Azazel has posed:
"That might be harder than you think. I've got five thousand years of watching out for myself above everything else working against me. I mean, he is an adult so I don't have to drop everything to raise him or anything. So I'm not sure what you mean about putting him first. I mean, I'd certainly like to talk to him and see how much of a family he would want to be."

He continues "I guess we'd have to take it slow. You should probably spend a little time talking to him before we let him know he's the spawn of Satan. It's a bit much to drop after the first time you two have just started speaking."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique stops herself from face-palming, because honestly the idea of telling Kurt, Catholic Kurt, that's he the son of Satan is just not happening.

"Azazel," she breaths before finally chuckling just a touch. "You are merely one of the many faces of Satan, but we all know Lucifer Morningstar is the real Satan. With this logical information, we will /not/ be telling Kurt he's the son of Satan."

Using her foot to splash some water at him, she does smile. "I will spend some time with him, feel out what he really wants and what sort of thing he wants to know. It's possible he doesn't want to know, but I think given what he has said, he will eventually seek to know who you are."

Azazel has posed:
With a grin, he replies, "But I'm so _good_ at being Satan. I've been doing it for thousands of years, it's one of my best personas. It's gotten me just scads of things down through the years." His eyes go a bit unfocused as he takes a moment, drawn into the many memories of the cons he's run in the past. "I mean, look at me. If I'm not the very picture of Satan, who is?" This may be a self-serving question, given that many of the descriptions of Satan are actually pictures of him.

He looks up at her and shrugs, "I'll leave it to you for now. Just like we've been doing, I'll continue to avoid him until you've had more time with him, which will also give you the opportunity to find out if he's even interested in meeting me. Now, the next question is where to have dinner. What say we go get dressed and pick a country?" His tail wraps around her ankle, and with the expected *BAMF* both mutants vanish from poolside and water rushes into the spot that he so recently occupied.
