Betsy Braddock has posed:
Tea time is serious business among the British, and despite having spent most of her adult life in the States, Betsy gives the occasion all the proper respect it's due. And so like most afternoons when she isn't otherwise busy, Betsy is in the kitchen waiting on the kettle to boil for a nice cuppa.

The British psi-ninja looks almost wholesome this afternoon, in a pair of grey leggings and an oversized Xavier's tee with her purple hair bound up in a bun. While she patiently (ha!) waits for the kettle to whistle, she's making a jam sandwich while humming Sex Pistols under her breath.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie comes down for a bit of a late lunch. He is wearing one of his Lila concert tour t-shirts and jeans. He looks over and blinks a moment at the tea pot, but nods makes sense, he is still on tea time a bit himself. He looks over and says "Hey Betsy, how are you doing?" He asks, getting a glass down to get him some real tea, not that hot water stuff. Ice and cold tea for the southern boy. He then starts pulling stuff out for a sub. "You want a sandwich with your tea?" He asks her.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Ignoring the philosophical difference between their various ideas of what constitutes 'tea', Betsy gives Sam a wry smile as she leans against the counter and waits patiently for the kettle to start whistling. "Ah, no thanks, luv. I have a jam sandwich." And the psi-ninja indicates the plum jam and white bread on a plate nearby, "But help yourself."

She brushes a bit of hair out of her face, and answers, "I'm well enough... Decided to take the day off anything that could be mistaken for work, focus on some self care." She chuckles, nodding towards the tea kettle. "Including a lovely cuppa and perhaps some meditation later. Yourself?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie is getting all the stuff to make a nice sub type sandwich complete with some veggies. "More looking for things to do, actually been hoping to catch up to you to talk about something, but it is work related, so I won't bother you with it today." He offers "I never could get into meditation, my mind drifts to easy for it I think."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
"Oh, go ahead." Betsy waves a hand in the air dismissing the idea of not discussing work, "There's a difference between *talk* about work, and having to actually *do* work." She grins, "The latter is what I'm avoiding. The former? I'm fine with."

She turns to the kettle when it starts to whistle, frowning slightly as the kettle lifts telekinetically to float over to her and her waiting mug with the tea bag in it. "I admit I get restless sometimes when I try meditation." She agrees, wryly, "But it's an important part of dealing with my mutation. Usually I just hit stuff until I feel zen, but it's nice sometimes to do a more peaceful approach, mmm?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie chuckles and nods a bit and says "Ah can sorta understand, Ah had to work a lot on control to get my turns down and not just go through all the walls in the danger room." He offers with smile. Once his sandwich is made, he will put stuff up and grab a small bag of chips to go with it. "Well not sure if you know but been working at Harry's tending bar for a while now, and was wondering if you might need someone to occasionally fill a shift at the bar.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy Braddock shakes her head. "Flying is quite a bit harder than I ever thought it would be." Betsy agrees, wryly, as she tops off her cup with hot water and then sends the kettle back onto the stove top to rest. "I managed a rather lovely set of bruises last time I practiced in the danger room."

She walks over, hip-bumping him playfully as she goes to the fridge to fetch milk for her tea. "I could use some extra help." She agrees after considering his request, "I would have to check how many hours I have to spare, and it might be part-time to start, but especially on weekends or when we host events the tips would make up for that."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "Well figuring would work at Harry's too at least for a while, the more money the more Ah can send back to Ma." He admits. He is also starting an account for his siblings for stuff while they are here at school. He smiles at the hip bump and says "Lot less bruises when the things you hit end up breaking instead of you." He offers with a smile "I have been practicing doing the whole bottle juggling and other fancy stuff to show off when I am doing it.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
"I don't believe in the American bullshit of paying sub-minimum wage and forcing people to rely on tips to make up the difference." Betsy reassures Sam as she stirs some sugar into her tea with the milk and takes a cautious sip. "So fifteen an hour, plus any tips." She closes her eyes briefly as she takes a deeper sip of the tea, forcing herself to relax and enjoy the taste. One eye opens to glance at Sam. "I'll let James know, and then you can just swing by Sion any time you're free for orientation and paperwork. We can work around your schedule with Harry's easy enough."

She then closes her eyes again as she takes another deep drink of tea, taking back up the thread of the conversation regarding flight. "I admit it's a lot easier to break stuff than not. Part of what I'm working on is fine control. I never appreciated Jean's fine motor control until I tried to juggle bottles without crushing them."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "Will be my 3rd job actually, but both Harry and the PD. It may give ya a little bit of a help with the city if they know ya have a police officer working there part time as well." He admits. "And trust me, Ah have Broken more stuff than most of the other students probably more than 3 of them combined."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
"Oh, city doesn't bother me any." Betsy replies airily, taking another sip of tea. "I've enough contacts in government through the Hellfire Club that I can usually get any issues swept under the rug as long as they aren't outright illegal." She cocks her head, though, adding, "But it wouldn't hurt the more... colorful... patrons to know that the law is present even if off-duty. Again, get with James and we'll work around your schedules."

She chuckles, then, adding, "Breaking stuff with telepathy is quite a bit messier than breaking stuff with telekinesis, mmm?" She taps her temple significantly. "But fortunately that aspect of my powers is a well oiled machine." She reaches for her sandwich on the plate, balancing it on top of her mug of tea with just the faintest flicker of purple-pink energy to suggest help keeping it in place. "And on that note, luv, I'm going to head back to my tree house with my tea."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will nod to her and says "If you need anything you have my number, just give me a call and you can get the Cannonball express delivery." He offers her and sets about to finish his food and clean up the kitchen after the two of them made food.
