If They See You, They Get Used To You
Date of Scene: 29 July 2022
Location: The Strait Lace Steakhouse - Hellfire Club
Synopsis: In another venture to the Hellfire Club, Aurora opens herself a chance to get a new agent, in the form of the witty and impressive Emma Frost
Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Jeanne-Marie Beaubier

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost has come to infrequently use some of the Club's more common facitilies on occasion. The Club is no longer her primary domain, but it's still a good place to network, keep eyes open, and maintain her gaze on whatever Shaw is up to at any given point. For the moment, Emma Frost is sitting over at a table, casually browsing the wine menu while pondering what to order.

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
Aurora has been gaining some fame, if not outright notoriety for the very little limits she's shown in her ambition to rise up the modeling ranks. If Emma is still following the on-goings at the club, she may or may not have learned that the young, enterprising Aurora has secured herself a private meeting with Sebastian Shaw recently. But regardless, she's now arrived at the Strait Lace Steakhouse, situtated within the club, likely to be seen more than to actually feast.

She arrive as one might expect from her notoriety in the tabloids, dressed in a striking, almost completely see-through tulle white dress, only it uses an entricate golde embroidery of golden vines and leaves, that somehow manages to perfectly cover the bare minimum that should be covered, at the very least in public.

"Hello," she greets the maitre d, "I'm afraid I don't have a reservation...but I figured since I'm an acquaintance of Mr. Shaw, could you perhaps make an exception?" She asks with a flirty smile, and a casual, overly familiar brushing of her fingers along the maitre d's arm, clearly she's used to flirting to get her way.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would take a moment over to glance at Aurora, "Ah, hello there. I don't think we've met. Are you new here? And do you work upstairs or downstairs?" A light thing tos ee over if Jeanne-Marie showed any indication of what truly went on at the club or not to guess by her response. She would turn over to Aurora and go to fold her hands over together while smiling.

"And a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I'm sure that no matter what you decide to do, you'll be going far here and in life . You have quite the reputation as a very talented young lady after all." She would smile with approval over and gesture at Jeanne-Marie to join her with the wave of a hand.

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"Hello darling," Aurora replies to Emma in a familiar tone despite having close to zero understanding of just who she is, offering a twirling fingered wave as a gestured 'hello' to accompany her words. "You could say that, I've been here a few times, but I'm 'fresh meat' I guess, haha, name's Aurora," she offers an introduction, pushing past the maitre d as Emma more or less invites her to join, "the model, if you've heard of me, and you are?"

Aurora does appear mighty pleased that Emma has some recognition of her, naturally, Emma is not the demographic Aurora rates the highest with, but she wants to be world famous if she could help it. That just tickles her fancy enough. "Oh, I've been upstairs and downstairs," she brags, perhaps knowing something? Perhaps nothing at all. "That's such a lovely thing to say, I'd record it to send my agent, imagine, he's calling me lazy," Aurora giggles.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile over at Jeanne-Marie, "OF course. So you're looking to work your way up over in the world? The club is an excellent place for those looking to make a name for themselves. You just have to take care nd remember that everyone else is doing the same in the place. There are sharks and there are minnows. but more than anything else therea re pirahna." She would smile ever so sweetly and grin. "So just remember over which of them that you are and take care."

Emma would smile, "Emma Frost, a pleasure to meet you." She would offer a hand over. "And you say that Shaw has taken a personal interes tin you?"

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"No place best for contacts, and name dropping, I recently had the pleasure of working a shot with THE Mary Jane Watson...guess what, she drops the Hellfire Club VIP card and invited people as her guests, and that's it, nobody cared to talk to me after..." Aurora notes in frustration, "so if you want people to know you made it, that's what you need, and I'll get it...no matter what it takes."

Aurora flags a waiter, but doesn't look like she's keen on dinner, as she orders champagne instead, "so which are you, Emma?" Aurora asks casually, "the shark, minnow or pirahna? Oh..." she suddenly gasps in an after thought, immediately reaching to press her hand atop Emma's in apology, "you don't mind first name basis, do you? I get it, a lot of stuffy digniteries here...I need to be more careful, but I so love people, haha, can't help it!"

She does seem to have her wits about her though, when her reply is a dignified, "I wouldn't dream to guess what Mr. Shaw makes of me on a personal level, but he is the finest companion for a fine conversation. I had a great time in his company."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would ah, "I'm not sure I've heard of that one. But I'm far from being at the top of the game when it comes to paying attention to those types unless they truly stand out." She would fold her hands together over thoughtfully. "Normally marketing handles those sorts of things for me. NOw you? You have earned such a reputation in so short a time. Consider me duly impressed at a young woman going up through th world."

She would smile over at Aurora, "No, it's fine. We come here to be informal. If I wished to have space away from the masses then I would simply ensure that none of them were to be an issue." She would nod over.

"Shaw has the capacity to identify talent and then try to ensure it does what he wishes." She would smile.

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
Aurora looks a bit surprised as Emma professes to not knowing who Mary Jane Watson is, she's not sure if it's meant as a slight to models in general, a feigned ignorance of modelling altogether, or whether Emma truly doesn't know all that much of Aurora's own field.

"I appreciate that," Aurora says with an endearing smile, the flattery causing her to stop pondering over whether she or models in generals were being slighted at all. "I do what I can, and I try to not tell anyone, especially my stupid agent, tell me how to do it."

At Emma's acceptance of being informal, Aurora looks relieved, accompanied by some more giggling, whether out of nervousness or just for practiced effect, isn't that obvious, likely to Aurora's credit. "There are so many brilliant, successful people in this club, I can't possibly imagine he has anything to wish of me at all..."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would just smile over at Aurora, picking up on the confusion even with the other woman's facial expressions being mostly veiled. She would smile over at Aurora, "So what are your ultimate goals within the club if a woman in my position might inquire? The club is a lovely place to get contacts and to make yourself established. But a great many men will simply see you as eye candy that's available for rent and treat you as such."

She would go on, "But that is also something to take advantage of, depending on the role you wish to play. Just do ensure that you know what role you wish to pursue here for your own persona."

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"Very simple, I want to be thought of as the same caliber a model as Mary Jane Watson, I want to be able to pull out a vip card and invite top photographers to spend time in my company, you build excellent relations that way." Aurora goes about how it's all going to workout in her mind, until Emma gives her a bit of an idea of alternatives she hadn't considered, making her pause, and level her gaze with Emma for a moment, "you're trying to scare me, aren't you? I doubt people would be like that...to think any club member is for rent? That's ridiculous!"

The word persona gets a bit of a flinch out of Aurora, but other than a physical seeming aversion or distaste, she doesn't quite anything on top.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would muse over, "Well dear, to be thought of is one thing. It's all about confidence and portrayal. Control of a narrative. You must project over. It means knowing what the stories are going to be in media. Taking your presence and smashing over them. Empowering yourself and controlling your story. It means being very aggressive. But it also means that one cannever go off." She would lean back.

"Because, in the end darling, it's not about skill, it's not about beauty, it's not about anything but marketing."

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"There's some truth to that, of course, confidence, yes." Aurora agrees to a degree, as she listens to Emma, getting a perspective of an actual manipulator, which is a bit different from the level of politics she's had to deal with for her job. "Hmph...maybe, but marketing never took my interest, I want eyes on me, I'd let the nerd with the college degree worry about the marketing of it..." so yes, she clearly isn't on her way to be a business mogul just yet.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod over, "Unfortunately, that's what's required. One must make the right people and entities think you'reimportant. It's not about effort, beauty, skill, and everything else. It's about making things think you are and being in control enough to do so. It's rahter annoying, never getting credit for anthingy ou do."

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"So...like, I need to hire someone specifically for that stuff?" Aurora wonders, "I figured an agent would be enough." She does nod in agreement at the last point made, "absolutely, if you do something, you should get the credit!" Leaning a bit towards Emma, she asks, "how did you become so smart? You're a college grad?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod over and let out a sigh, "Yes, what a horrid thing. Ever so annoying now." S he woulda ffirm to her model companion. "You need a good agent that you trust tha tisn't too sleazy and that you know won't murder you in your sleep. But them being willing to murder someone else is definitely an asset. And I had to learn by going through classes." Not even on daddy's dime.

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
Aurora listens intently right to the points about murder, leading her to laugh hysterically, thinking Emma was joking, "oh you had me there! Wow!" Once she's settled down, Aurora looks quite impressed, "a lot of respect to you, Emma, I don't know how you manage. Classes are always so boooorrrriiinnnggg..."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile, "Oh, a girl makes do. Some things are worth the sacrifice. It makes the end goal all the more worthwhile. To knwo that you've done it and you can lord it over everyone." Don't lay the megalomania on too thick there.

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"I guess I can see the appeal in there...," Aurora admits with a mischevious smile, "like when at school they said I couldn't wear makeup, I did just that, ha! Nobody tells me what to do!"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile, "Well then.. If you do wish it, I'm willing to be your agent. But in turn, I expect you to be a good asset and minion."

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"Mmmm...you sound smart, I'm sure you could be a good agent, and I can be a good asset..." Aurora assures, thinking it's a fancy term for model, "but a minion...? Not sure I follow on that one...not really a thing, is it?" So turns out she was serious about being bored in classes. That is assuming she actually attended those.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile, "Well.. I can always use ladies with your stage presence for the purposes of advertising and events. It would give you exposure, let you get a foot in and to know people. And I am willing to murder." Flashing a smile.

Jeanne-Marie Beaubier has posed:
"I'm not exactly a beginner, I'm not looking for a foot in, I'm looking for a rocket to catch up to the likes of Mary Jane," Aurora says with a playful wink, before adding, "but the murder is enticing," except she literally said it as a joke, "maybe we'll be in touch then? I should get going before I lose another promotion..." the difficulty in being her agent, getting her to show up.
