Synopsis: Great friends were made, forged in battle!
Cast of Characters: Beroe Kazinski, Colborn, Kora Ikassis

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
It would of been the morning. Bright and early. Why? Cause Beroe has a grin on her face as soon as she wakes, to the sun, sometimes before. She arrives to The Forge with a coffee in hand, not calling in advance, and talks about this video she wants to shoot. She got these shoes, she shows them off to Colborn, and she went out and bought the rest of the outfit, the skateboard, and now desperately needed to make a video to cover all the costs. It's a lot of social media talk for, Help! I need Help!

She ubers out to the Union Square Park and once there, she gives an extra tip, writes a review of the driver, whom she found rather nice and talked with the entire ... yes, the ENTIRE trip. Once out of the Uber she's grinning, "So, thank you soooooooo much for coming with me." She grabs her phone from nowhere, as she does and starts getting it setup, "I really need... some action shots. You know, close ups of the shoes when I do a skate trick, or hop off something, and then I'll need some modeling type pose shots as well. Just... um... here, use these settings and tap tap tap tap this button from all sorts of angles." She smiles, beaming, "No angle is bad! Try and get like..." She turns to the side, kicks one foot out, a bit, and starts pointing out sections of her body, "This part of my leg, with the feet there, during action shots, can even do an 'up angle' shot, just don't ... you know, center it on anything in specific else I might get flagged." She rolls her eyes and giggles, then is pushing her phone off to Colborn, "On full body shots... try and be... where..." She points at her chest, "Are visible, cause like, yeah. People like that. Okay! You got this!"

Colborn has posed:
Ever seen the look on a man's face when he got struck between the eyes by a baseball thrown at full speed? No? Well now you have. The thunderous and enthusiastic arrival of Caffeine-girl at the forge caught Colborn as he just opened up the doors to the shop. He literally had a travel mug of green tea in hand still as the door was flung open. He literally just turned his back to the door after unlocking it as Beroe burst into the shop.

He turned slowly, eyebrows rising. As Beroe explained at length, over and over, he just nodded. "Of course I'll help." is all he said. Why say more when this petite pot of energy on feet does enough talking for most parties?

So the sign was turned back to -closed-, and he came with. Just tee shirt and jeans for him. Why dress up anyway? But the whole ride... silent. The walk to the park... silent. And then.... instructions.

And when the explanation has been finished, and he has no idea what it means... he steps back a bit and says -very- softly, "Motherbox, please translate for me."

And he looks to his smartwatch's screen, nods and then begins doing as instructed. And the funniest part of all this is that he has a hard time with modern smartphones, not because they are too advanced, but because they are too primitive to his own ideals. But with guidance from motherbox, he manages to figure it out. Wordlessly doing as he is told, snapping shots with a definite amateur level of skill, but at least with -some- skill.

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
For her part, Beroe takes a few steps toward the camera and then tosses down the skateboard to try and get a shot, and then try and do one of those kicks off the ground but the board goes one way and she goes the other. Flailing she manages to land on her feet, and a bit of her rear, then she's pushing herself back up. "Gotta do that one again. No one gets it right the first time, right?" And she tries again. And then again. And again. She's laughing through falling, until finally she gets a decent jump off some stairs. The landing, no good, but hey, at least the shot looks like it COULD go well.

Then she social blurs, coming right back to Colborn, "Great, let me see." She tilts her head to look at what was shot, "Oh, that's, hey, you have a good eye. Let me just change one setting..." And she tap tap taps, and turns on burst shot mode to hopefully get some more shots in there for her to edit later. Big smile, "Thank you SO much for coming out here with me. Wanna try one of those stair slide things?"

This is going to go... terribly, but she's grabbing hold of Colb's hand and trying to drag him along in the park off to the side. Not that she could physically force him, she's probably half his weight, but she's got the skateboard and enthusiasm behind her as she's headed to a more dangerous shot cycle.

Colborn has posed:
At first, Colborn is tempted to save the kid from her own enthusiasm. But he restrains himself. At worst, she'll end up with her pride injured, and -maybe- a sprained wrist or something. At least that's from the first leaping skateboard launching thingamagoober. Along the way, he thinks to himself . . o o O O (Why would -anyone- use such a risky mode of transportation. A board with wheels. Wow... then again, I -have- seen my brethren using hover shoes. Well okay then.)

He keeps snapping shots, and when Beroe comes over to edit the settings, he just gives her full control of the item. He wouldn't have the first idea how to modify such an ancient piece of tech. He would just have his mother box do it all, and do it better. Oh well, mortals and their tech.

He smiles a bit and nods his head, "As I said. Happy to heeeeel!" he trails off as Beroe drags him off. He makes a point of -not- using full strength, so he lets himself get dragged off balance in the direction of the stairs.

"Are you sure that you wish to do this?" he asks. "Should you not wear protection? Pads? Helmet? Should you not inspire your... followers as you called them... to be safe?"

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
A pause, as the questions come out, and Beroe looks back at Colborn. She blinks a few times as she looks at him and then she giggles, "Oh, I totally think that my followers would prefer me not to wear protective items. They would cover me up. And my style. I have this cool, like, following, who LOVE fashion and modeling. They say the sweetest things, but you know, they also like to look at pictures that are attractive. Not safe." She laughs lightly and shakes her head, "You may know how to make a sword, but I kind of like the comments. You know? It just, feels, great, cause I made someone's day better. Reminding them they could get hurt while having fun doesn't do that."

And with that stream of words she's balancing the board a bit on the handrail of some stairs and she ooohs and grins at it, "That's gonna take a lot of balance." She's in the middle of attempting to figure out how to get up there without immediately breaking her neck. For your part though, you might see behind her some cars trying to suddenly get out of the way of something. Something coming down the nearest road, with a few sirens starting to get louder, and then an Armored Truck bursts into the park. It is bouncing, going up and down over stairs, crashing into bushes and fences, and people are starting to scream and run while Beroe is focused on her skateboard. Oblivious to the heavy armored truck coming her way with cops in hot pursuit behind it.

Colborn has posed:
"I... I am actually shocked." remarks Colborn. He shakes his head. "I mean, you tell me your followers would rather you harm yourself than appear to be taking precautions. Are you -sure- that they care about you? Or are they merely tuning in to watch...." And that is when he notices the commotion behind her.

His eyes narrow, and then flash with golden light for just a quick moment before he surges forward and just tackles Beroe off of the skateboard, diving with her out of the way of the oncoming truck.

Now, a few words about that truck. He could telekinetically move a person, or a tiny car. But that truck is heavy enough to overpower any force he could generate with his mind. But he -can- tackle the girl out of the way and then get to his feet to look out over the crowd and start shoving people out of the way if they were unable to evade on their own. "Are you okay?" he asks.

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
There's a bit of a laugh and Beroe mentions, "I don't normally do things that are this dangerous. But yeah, my followers love me, they say so. And each one of those 'hearts' they add, or likes, it's like ... I dunno. I feel them, like I know some of their happiness." She's talking about it as the Armored truck is speeding along toward her. She's waxing about her Followers, even going so far as to clasp her hands together and bring them up to her heart as she's talking about it all. Real feels.

Then her eyes get wide, only once Colborn makes contact with her, taking her away from the skateboard and tumbling away from where the Armored Truck would've crushed her or splattered her all over the park. Instead she groans a little and smiles, "Is my... phone okay?" She questions.

Then she looks over to the truck that's come to a stop after crashing through a hand rail or three, and two concrete benches. "Hey! THere's a truck in here, do you see that?! It's right there! Oh my god oh my god, is there something happening?" She squeals, trying to get out from under the bigger man, despite being somewhat bruised, "Don't worry. Stay behind me. I'll keep you safe."

Kora Ikassis has posed:
Nothing marks the young dark-haired woman from any of the local college students. Flawless olive skin, hair so curly it borders on the unruly, fresh faced as the morning without a trace of makeup. One of her sister Amazons talked her into wearing ripped jeans, red Chucks and a t-shirt with the Themyscira Arts Center emblazoned on it. She has brought lunch tucked into a backpack which she has slung over a shoulder.

City noise is occasionally deafening, she has begun to understand the closed blank expressions of many of the natives as they shut out the overwhelming amount of movement, color, noise all calling for attention. Today's noise level pulls her attention away from the shop windows. Sirens racing from behind and a truck, a strange boxy looking thing, racing out of control down the street. A woman pushing a pram (she recognizes those now) screams as the truck jumps the curve.

Without thinking, Kora steps out in front of the truck which is not anymore dangerous than a racing chariot to her mind. Though, admittedly, those are dangerous enough.

Both arms extended she braces for the impact and it swerves wildly out of her way at the last moment into the park. Kora yells angrily, "This is dangerous behavior," and runs to the truck.

Colborn has posed:
That phone was disregarded in his tackling leap of Beroe. Colborn seems confused when Beroe asks about the phone. "That's... you... I was... huh?" he asks in his most eloquent fashion.

And then even more confusion when Beroe tells him to stay behind... her. But now that her attention is on the truck... he looks around and reaches to snatch the phone from the ground where it fell. He whispers in ancient Norse. <<Mother Box. Repair this device please.>> And a soft ping announces it is working.

So as he stands up and looks back to the truck, he tilts his head to the side as he spies the woman it swerved to avoid. "Kora?" he asks mostly to himself even as the crack in the phone screen heals like it had a healing factor. Gotta love the mother box. All of this is hopefully hidden from the girl who is trying to... um... protect him?

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
And in a dramatic fashion, Beroe stands up. Which is to say, she's got one arm held up and bent kind of in front of her like she's dracula with his cape, legs about shoulder width apart as she gets a more serious look on her face. There's pretty much a full on state of oblivious nature happening. "It's either some kind of monster some underground creepy organization was trying to smuggle out of a secured vault, or, bank robbers, either way. I'll make sure you are safe." Turning her head, Beroe gives a quick nod to Colborn, as the back door of the armored truck goes swinging open.

What comes out are multiple people with guns, some of them are coughing, look a little beat up from whatever they hit inside the truck when it came to a rather raucous stop. Taking in a breathe, Beroe lets it out slowly, and ... gives herself a quick pep talk. "Alright, you got this." A quick look from the corner of her eye sees some bystander pulling out their phone and targeting the truck, which includes her, in it, so she grins big and offers a V for Victory hand signal out to him, then a wink. With her attention elsewhere, she doesn't really notice the bank robbers turning their weapons in the direction of the coppers, placing Beroe and Colborn certainly in the middle of it, and Kora as well but a bit further back at the moment.

At least she's got her photo-op in, and maybe the video will hit Youtube or something?

Kora Ikassis has posed:
People are gathering. The whoop whoop of police sirens add to the cacophony of horns blaring and people collecting to conjecture on what is happening. KOra jumps on the running board of the truck and tries to open the door which stubbornly doesn't budge. Inside a man is slumped on the driving wheel. The truck rocks and she hears thumping inside as a prelude to its back doors swinging open.

Since her arrival in New York, she has spent nearly every day learning to recognize modern weapons. Range training and the like will begin within the week, but for now she knows what the men with the strange hats covering their faces are pointing.

Deadly stuff. The young Amazon feels utterly naked without her shield and armor. Besides being talked into wearing clothes with holes in them, she had to be talked out of walking to work with a shield and sword.

The men don't see her but she sees them. Striding up behind one of them, she grabs him by the shoulder, turning him toward her then chops his arm hard. He drops the gun with a shout and tries to swing on her. The man lacks training. Without sympathy for him (he had been brandishing something to threaten lives) she hits him squarely in the nose which crumples under the impact.

Colborn has posed:
Yep. Amazon. That's definitely Kora. <<Motherbox. Shield.>> he says as the Mother Box accesses its extradimensional storage space. A tiny rip in space appears before him. There is a sound to it. Something similar to heavy winds during a storm. What? It makes BOOM tubes. Anyhow, his right hand reaches into the portal, and he withdraws the same hand with a circular shield in hand. He's seen Captain America throw such things, but he doesn't need to aim a throw... he tosses the shield in the direction of Kora, and then telekinetically directs it to her... "KORA!" he calls out, "SHIELD INCOMING!"

That said, he steps off to one side and glances back towards the police as the tear in space goes away. Then he looks towards the criminals once more. Oh fuck it.

He points a hand at one of them and fires a pulse of golden energy to disable the man. Maybe he'll distract some of them from shooting at the police too. It's after his pulse strikes that the shield arrives next to Kora.

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
With people starting to gather, looking in the direction of Kora, Beroe, and Colborn. She was giving the V for victory sign, and then turns her attention back to the men with guns. To... stare them down with a seriously pouty facial expression, "Alright, criminals. Drop your weapons and come along peacefully." She says loudly, pointing at the men with the guns. Only two of them are still standing, were there 4 before? Beroe doesn't let such a small detail get in the way.

Instead, she's getting shot at in quick order. Well, not her specifically, Colborn is getting shot at and she's in the way. Her left hand comes up and a tear in space appears in front of Colborn, then herself, then a few other spots, just popping into existence. Not much better than her own hand as she strains, clenching her jaw. Bullets fly in her direction and get caught by the small field of holes, and then she's breathing a bit heavier, "Wow, did you see that? They were pretty accurate with those guns. I think they have taken lessons before." Complimenting the accuracy of the criminals and their guns, but effectively only stopping their first shots as they level their guns to pull the triggers again ...

Kora Ikassis has posed:
Someone calls her name in a deep voice and Kora steps back behind the door, turning to the caller.

    Shield incoming?

Well, it's nothing like the game they used to play on Themyscira; but the young woman has her hands extended like she is ready to catch a frisbee, a game she undoubtedly will take to with enthusiasm when she learns it.

Double-handed she catches the shield and hugs it to her, arm automatically searching for the grip. Shield held at regulation height, Kora launches into a charge. Her focus is on the man with the deadly weapon firing at a young woman and her boss.

    Her boss?

Without stopping, she butts the man and knocks him down from behind. Adding insult to injury, she takes two more strides and bashes him on the head when he tries to rise.

Colborn has posed:
Well, Colborn -has- seen Amazons using shields. So he went for his intuitive thing there. And then he notices the spatial distortions. At first he thinks it was the Mother Box. But then he realizes those are coming from Beroe.

"I noticed they had excellent aim." he says, "Every single one of them hit one of your distortion fields." he says before reaching to yoink Beroe once again out of the way of danger. That last gunman is still shooting, but he is also just becoming aware of the super strong shield maiden right in close to him. So the wild shots are easily evaded as Colborn tackles Beroe once more.

Then to get her focus, he holds up her (now fully repaired) phone, so that she can see it, but he is also aiming it downrange at what amounts to a lesson why one does not screw with Amazons. "I hope this footage helps your channel." he tells her.

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
Beroe winces when a woman comes out charging with a shield, and hits the criminal. Then she brings her arms in and shakes them a little with a muffled squeal, "Oh, I hope he's okay." She says, softly as fights the urge to run up and immediately check on the criminal who got bashed to the ground. At that moment her eyes widen, and she's yanked to the side, and gets tackled once more.

"Ooof. Wowwie. Thanks! Have you ever thought you should join football? Your tackling is on point." Smiling in the middle of a big gun fight, enough to even touch her eyes enough to nearly close them then she's opening them up again. Her mouth gets big and her eyes even bigger, "My phone! Oh thank you! I totally need that." And she reaches out quickly to grab it, tapping a few buttons with speed, and getting it to selfie mode. "Hey all. I'm live at a crime scene, fighting bad guys. If I live, I'll update in a few. But thanks to my new shoes, thanks Crissy78U!, I'm totally keepin' out of the way." Whew. Looking up to Colborn, "Did you see how that lady bashed that guy with a shield? Cool, but owwie, right? I bet the cops are calling an ambulance for him..."

There's still a gunman, but his full attention is now on the shieldmaiden as he's swinging his shotgun to point in her direction and pull the trigger if he manages to get it that far.

Kora Ikassis has posed:
The man on the ground tries to rise once again. Kora shakes the shield at him and frowns, eyes narrowed and he subsides docilely to the pavement. The man's attention shifts to an activity behind her. With a warrior's instincts Kora pivots in time to bring her shield up and in front of her.

The BAROOM of the shotgun discharging coincides with something like a giant's arm knocking her backward toward Colb and his friend. The young woman nearly tumbles to the ground, taking a few misjudged steps backward into her audience and the woman holding the phone.

Colborn has posed:
A hand reaches up to press to Kora's back. "I gotcha." says Colborn softly as his other hand, now freed up from holding the phone, aims downrange. Another pulse of golden energy flies from it and puts the last shooter down.

"You are quite the fighter Kora. Remind me to not make you angry."

A pause, and Colborn says, "Beroe, this is Kora, an Amazon warrior and the new clerk for my shop. Kora, meet Beroe.. she is...." He pauses as his brain works to try to come up with some way to describe Beroe, "... an enthusiastic friend."

Beroe Kazinski has posed:
Missing the last shot, Beroe is spinning her phone around to catch the scene, moving it slowly and getting it all live. "That's right, everyone, the crime scene is over. The police are here, my friends are okay, the bystanders are unhurt." She brings up a hand and does a 'whew' over her brow, and shakes her head, "This one was all ..."

"Due to the diligent work of an amazing warrior. Awesome lady! I'll get the next one, I'm sure!" Beroe smiles at her phone screen, having mostly been shooting herself and the background, "Stay safe everyone, and if you get a chance, check out Mysti7204's costume shop. She made, by hand, these amazingly cute fox ears for me. They are certified organic, so no foxes were hurt in their making, which is great!"

Uploaded. Done. And didn't even get a single second of Kora or Colborn in the video. She looks up and beams. "Hello. I -am- enthusiastic, that was a great description of me. Awww, he knows me so well, already. I bet he's a great boss." So many words just spill out of her mouth, with a cheery tone.

Kora Ikassis has posed:
Like a sister Amazon, Colborn is at her back. Unlike an Amazon he sends something that sizzles spearlike past her into the man with the shotgun. Shotgun is one of her newest words, learned just yesterday. Now that she has seen it in action, she looks forward to practicing with it.

"Thank you for that, Colborn! I don't anger easily," she replies with a shake of her head and a sudden bright smile.

"Well met! This!" She indicates the now gunless men, all traces of the grin gone,"This is not a normal day for the City, is it?"

Then, with a grave nod to Beroe, "Ah! A friend of Colborn is a friend of mine. Well met!"
