Synopsis: Daisy takes Matt to meet her dad. Best. Day. Ever.
Cast of Characters: Daisy Johnson, Matthew Murdock

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy knew it was time.

As Matt and Daisy have decided to actually try to give in to having a relationship, despite all the dangers associated with it, she knew it was also time that she brought Matt to a part of her life that she had yet to show him. Or rather, he knew well about it all, having been an instrumental part on her decisions to go forward and do what she did to discover her parents. But she had yet to actually bring him to that intimate part of her life.

Not that she actually said right away what they'd be up to. Instead she invited Matt for a walk out in East Village during one of her breaks, visit the neighborhood, maybe even lunch on one of the famous restaurants. Yet it wouldn't be too hard to detect the nervous signals of the vibrations within her, the anticipation. And she had even dressed up better. Sure, still in jeans but these definitely felt nicer, a silk blouse over her torso and a smaller coat instead of those leather ones she enjoys. And yes, there was even the faint trace of daisies in the perfume she wore.

While walking down a particular street she speaks up quietly. "There is someone I would like you to meet.."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt had been happy to agree to meet in the village on Daisy's break, as it turned out, he was between a morning spent reviewing briefs and an afternoon of client meetings, so, he was eager to stretch his legs. So, at the appointed hour Matt arrived, dressed in a check blue suit, with a sky blue striped tie, his keen senses detecting the changes in Daisy's dress almost at once. The jacket felt different, and the sound of the silk on Daisy's skin was unmistakable. The final change came on the spring breeze, the smell of daisies just detectable over the smells of the city.

He'd hugged her and suggested, "So, somewhere nice for lunch then?", guessing that's why she'd done up her appearance like that, but the nervous vibrations didn't track with that. No this was something else. Matt had stayed silent on that until Daisy spoke, at which point his brows raise curiously above his red shades.

"Oh?" he asks. "Let me guess Coulson or May?" either of those would explain the nervousness he thought.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It's not like Daisy had actually considered where they would have lunch. But yes, somewhere nice, why not? In the Village there were enough to go around. Though she did shrug. "Are you buying, Shark?" she teases quietly. But then she is leading them through the streets, watching the fine streets, the lined-up trees. Smiling and trying to get over that nervousness.

While walking she brings her hand over to Matt's, fingers loosely about his, enjoying his company but then as they are getting so close she pops the news. Someone she wants her to meet.. Even if not in the conditions she'd like it to be. But she has accepted that we can't have everything in life as we want it to be.

She takes in a breath, shaking her head. "No. Doctor Winslow." she states. She hadn't actually told Matt about her father's new name. But it's not like she takes long to explain. "It's my father's new name. He owns a small veterinary clinic down the street. It shouldn't take long for him to take his lunch break..." which is telling that she's been here a few times before, knowing his father habits by now.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt offers his arm to Daisy as they walked, it made it easier to keep up the illusion of being completely sightless if someone was leading him, besides, any chance to be close to Daisy was one he wanted to take.

The sun felt good on his face, and by the moods of the people around him he could tell the day was gorgeous, and he could feel a cool spring breeze on his face.

"Sure, do you know any places that take pie?" he asks her, grinning. He had real money but he wasn't going to pass up the chance to joke. "Sure," he says finally. "On me, wherever we want to go."

"Your father?" Matt asks, surprise registering clearly on his face. He hadn't expected that. He recovers quickly though, "Sure, that'd be great, you'll tell me if he's polishing the family shotgun when we walk in right?" he teases, though truth be told he doesn't know much about Daisy's dad, just that there had been problems. "Two questions though, does he know about me? And what should I know about him?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Regardless of the nervousness she feels it is indeed a good day, Daisy enjoying that gentle breeze, the sun on their faces, relaxing in whatever manner they can. She gladly takes that arm, curling her arm to his while they walk. Slowly, there isn't a big hurry, they have enough time to get there.

"We could go crazy and just pick a hotdog off somewhere." she suggests with a small grin, then chuckling at the mention of pie, pressing her forehead to Matt's shoulder. "And then we'd still have enough pie for dessert."

The surprise on Matt's face makes her smile faintly but she does tell him, "Sorry, I should had told you earlier what I wanted to do." yet the mention of the family shotgun brings both an amused smile but also a sadness to her. She shakes her head, "He doesn't know about you, nor about me." she explains. "His mind wasn't right, fractured. He had committed many crimes and he was either going to prison for life or...." the implication there he wouldn't have much more time to leave one way or another. "So SHIELD helped with an alternative through a secret project we had been working at the time. He was able to resume a normal life but he forgot everything about his past. Including me. Everything." not that she goes into details. TAHITI project was still pretty much a strange thing to her.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"A hotdog, in New York?" Matt asks, as if that's the strangest thing he's ever heard, "That's just crazy talk." By which he means he's good with it. "Sure, hotdog works," he says, "Just don't get ketchup on that shirt, it sounds pricy." A grin there, as he usually did when showing off his powers.

The bit about her dad, gets his brow knitting. "So, he doesn't remember anything? At all?" he takes a breath and lets it out. "Did he get the choice? That or life in prison?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Showoff..." Daisy mutters when Matt goes on about her blouse. Which had indeed been pricy! Even if she found it on discount online. But noone needs to know that! "I am glad you noticed though." She giving him a little bump with her shoulder, maybe in thanks at having him help in dispelling the nervousness she had been feeling.

They take a turn down another street, this one with various lined trees near the large sidewalk, some benches spaced about. Lots of green, that scent of spring high in the air.

"He became someone new, a new chance.." Daisy says quietly. "After all he had been through I couldn't let him continue to be the broken man I had found. All he had done." her free hand comes up to run over her hair, eyes down on the sidewalk while they move. The question about the choice does make her be silent for a while though. Conflicting emotions within her. Had there been really a choice? "I told him I was going to help him, in the end I had to make the choice. I couldn't let him die without knowing happiness.." even if she still remembered what he had told her the happiest day in his life had been.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
What Daisy tells him, has Matt release the tension built up in his shoulders. He still had a hard time trusting SHIELD but as long as Daisy's father had a choice in his fate, he could accept that.

It takes him a moment to shift gears, but when he does, he squeezes Daisy's hand. "Glad he's got a second chance," he says. "What does he know about you then? Are you just someone who drops by a lot or, does he know any more than that?" he asks.

As he walks, Matt slips his cane under his arm to brush at his suit in case there's any crumbs there from the bagel he'd had this morning on the way to work, trying to look presentable.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"He just knows my name when we spoke a while back. I am not even sure if we will talk this time or not, I try to come by often, but mostly all I do is sitting down on the bench in front of the clinic. Maybe I should adopt a dog." Though then Daisy looks up at Matt, smiling quietly. "Or should I say we?"

When Matt brushes the crumbs off she grins. "I saw that." but she reaches over and brushes her hand over the front of his suit too before her hand presses against his front, letting out a brief vibration from it. A signal of thanks for him being by her side.

"Just a while longer.." and indeed the clinic isn't far, the green awning, the plaque outside that announces the clinic. Just a quaint place. From within there's activity noticeable, people and pets.

"Let's sit a bit." she suggests, starting to lead them towards a bench.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt nods, "That's sort of sadly sweet," he says. "You looking in on him like that, but him not knowing who you are." He chuckles. "Well it might give you a reason to visit more, and talk to him, but unless the dog's trained to see for me, maybe a cat? We've sort of got busy lives." There's a fond smile for the idea of 'we' being thrown around here. It was new.

The vibration was met with a smile, "Wanted to look my best, I figure if he still knows you, deep down in his soul, I wanted him to know you were with someone who wasn't a total slob."

Matt walks long that final distance, and when he can hear the people and pets inside he focuses his senses there, trying to get the sense of the place. It seemed calm despite the noises from the pets, happy. Which was a good sign, animals were often better judges of people than people and it spoke well of her dad to feel the animals, mostly, at peace.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
That acceptance Matt has of her past life, the craziness of it all, specially where it comes to her father makes her warm inside. Visibly, those vibrations telling. She had been nervous, this being a very intimate part of her. One that only a few select people knew about. Opening up like this to him made her indeed imagine the 'we' a lot better. "A cat, mmm." she does seem keen about the idea, most likely something to consider in the near future. One she wished to have with Matt.

"You can be many things, Matt Murdock. But being a slob isn't one of them." What things are those though?! But Daisy then leans over to place a kiss on the man's cheek, squeezing his arm. "Thank you." she tells him. For this? Everything?

And then they are near the bench, she leads them both to sit down. And by the angle of the sounds they are on the other side of the sidewalk from where the entrance is. A couple of people are coming out, couple of dogs with them. Indeed there seemed to be a peaceful feeling to the place. Gentle. Quaint and happiness in a way in this corner of East Village.

The voice is then heard, deep, most likely Dr. Winslow. "I am going for lunch, Martha. I will be back soon.." "Of course, Doctor. You have Mrs. Jones at 2." "Ah, the checkup on Mr. Snuffles. I won't take long." there is a light tilt to the man's voice, a freedom of worries apparently.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Those vibrations are telling, how happy his acceptance made Daisy feel. It felt a little unfair really, she had nothing to worry about on that score when it came to Matt. His life was hardly normal either. And yes, he was feeling more open to 'we' as well, even the threat of the Hand seemed less now that he could see what Daisy could do with and without her powers. If anything, when she had her gloves on, Daisy had less to fear from the Hand ninjas than he did.

Matt smiles as his cheek is kissed and he returns the gesture. "And just what are those many things?" he asks her, laughter present in his voice, before saying more seriously, "You're welcome" as he leans against her on the bench.

Matt's head perks up at the sound of the doctor leaving, anxious to get a 'look' at the man. "He's coming out on his lunch break, like you predicted," he tells Daisy.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Finally being settled down on the bench makes Daisy relax, her hand curling about Matt's, lacing fingers if he allows, letting her eyes roam the front of the clinic. This is what Daisy had wanted, that her father could be happy, even if it met she had to let him go not long after finally finding him. No matter how sad it made her feel there had been little hesitation in going forward with it at the time, putting her father's wellbeing before her own. It had been an easy choice, really. Doesn't mean it made it easy living with it.

Some things made it better though, like being able to be here with Matt and sharing this, though the question makes her look his way. "Well, first off. A total showoff, also way too smart for his own good..." she leans over. "Awful, horrible jokes.." closer now, almost as if she will be kissing him anytime soon, her tone low and teasing. ".. and lets not talk about those evil senses that make me feel like an open book to.." yes, she is very close now.... But then Matt warns about her father being close to coming out.

It makes her sober up, she looking at the entrance. The man comes out after having stepped out of his doctor's overall, humming a little tune to himself. Just peaceful. He looks around, taking in a breath of fresh air and is just about to go on when he notices the duo.

"Oh, Daisy isn't it?"

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt grins, not arguing with any of those points, though he does make a show of opening his mouth and lifting a hand at the bit about the jokes but he closes his mouth and lowers his hand soon after, no arguments there.

As Daisy get closer, so does Matt, his hand reaching out to clutch her shirt, tilting his head for that kiss when he notices her dad was coming and he draws back, taking in this man in person.

He could tell the man was strong, well-built, with a joyful step and he recognized the tune the man hummed unconsciously as 'Daisy Bell' that old song Matt had mentioned to Daisy when she told him his true name.

He smiles, that last little bit causing all sorts of questions to pop into his head about memory, family and the soul, but in all what he felt made him grin.

He stays silent as the man approaches, speaking to Daisy.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Did Daisy recognize the hum for Daisy bell? Most likely not. For her it felt his whole memory had been completely wiped, no memories of her left. She had accepted it. Her hand squeezes Matt's when the man approaches, almost as if seeking for support from him.

"Hello, I am Daisy, yes. Hello Dr. Winslow." she says to him quietly, happy that the man seems to remember her name at least. "We were taking a walk and decided to take a break here." a stretch of the truth!

The good doctor grins a touch, looking between the two, noticing the laced hand and then his gaze falls on Matt, studying him. "I hadn't seen you here with Daisy before, young man." he smiles, "You two seem happy. What's your name?" he asks.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt is more than happy to squeeze Daisy's hand back and offer the support she's looking for as her dad approached. He had no idea what all this must be like for Daisy, meeting a man who doesn't remember being her dad, but he empathizes. If only he knew how close that cut to his own situation with his mother, having her been in his life without knowing it.

Matt gives Daisy's hand a quick squeeze before letting go and standing offering it in Winslow's general direction. "I'm Matt Murdock," he says, "It's a pleasure to meet you Dr. Winslow. Daisy told me she met the nicest vet on this block."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy stays down on the bench now, looking between Matt and her father, brushing her hands through her hair. She has a faint smile to her lips but stays quiet when the Doctor changes his attention to Matt.

"Oh.." The doctor seems a bit surprised when Matt stands up and offers his hand but then he smiles warmly. "Very respectful, I like it." he extends his hand to take Matt's, shaking it firmly. The mention of being the nicest vet has the man chuckling. "She's too kind, I just want to make my clients happy. This clinic has been my magical place ever since I got it open. Best decision in my life." the tone and demeanor seems the man certainly doesn't seem to be lying, happy in the simplicity of his life.

"Do you have any pets?" He then asks.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt grins as they shake hands. "My dad was big on respect," he says, with a fond grin at the memory. "Used to make sure I always minded my manners," he says, before nodding about the clinic. "I can understand that, making other people happy can be a wonderful thing."

As to the pet question, Matt turns a little in Daisy's direction, "We were just talking about getting a cat actually, I think we're both too busy for dogs." He gives a smile to Daisy then before turning back to Dr. Winslow. "Any recommendations?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"He taught you well then." Winslow places his hands about his hips then, "Manners maketh man." he adds in an affable, gentle way.

A laugh when Matt mentions they lead busy lives. "Seems like everyone is running around these days, without appreciating life as it should sometimes. But I understand." he looks at Daisy, who just lifts her shoulders and smiles faintly, saying. "We don't want to get too over our heads. Never had a pet in the past."

She then gets up to her feet, lacing her arm with Matt's, "Though yes, cat seems to be the mutual decision."

It makes the doctor give it a thought. "Mmm, maybe a russian blue. They are calm enough, but still with enough fire that I feel goes well with what I sense out of you both. If you want some contacts Martha can provide those of a few shelters here in New York.

Though then he speaks apologetically. "I will have to be on my way, to get back before Mr. Snuffles is in. It can get rather insufferable if it stays inside the clinic for too long."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt nods, "So I've been told," he says of manners. Though it had been Father Lantom that had used that turn of phrase.

"It seems that way," he says of people running around. "Me neither, though my friend keeps telling me to get a seeing eye dog, though that's not a commitment I'm ready for," they were also like 20 grand and Matt felt guilty taking one from someone who really needed it.

Matt smiles as Daisy takes his arm, and he nods, about the cat.

"Sounds interesting," Matt says about a cat. "We should definitely talk to Martha then," he say s before grinning about Snuffles. "Understood, we don't want to keep you."

Though he does squeeze Daisy's arm, by way of seeing if they want to invite themselves along to join him or let him get about his day.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"It's not a choice for everyone, yes." Dr. Winslow says in agreement. An easy grin to his lips which, if one would come to think on it is rather similar to the one Daisy can often wear when she is in high spirits. "Though you seem to have found good enough guidance by now, mmm?" then he chuckles lightly. "Sorry, but a jest." Not that it stops Daisy from getting her cheeks flushed, smiling quietly up at her father.

The squeeze doesn't go unnoticed, nor that message. To go with him... In truth Daisy wasn't sure if she'd be able to handle that at all. Considering she appears to be getting on the verge of tears. So she tells the doctor. "Take care, Dr. Winslow.."

The good doctor just smiles at the duo, a wave and then gets on going down the street towards his favorite restaurant down the street. Mmmm, ribs...

Daisy turns to Matt afterwards, quietly resting her forehead against his shoulder, fingers sliding up to wrap about him, silent for the moment even if there's a dampness felt on that suit as she lets go of the emotions she was holding back during this meeting.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
While Matt can't see that smile, the feeling of it is the same, that general impishness, and Matt smiles in response, Daisy's hand getting another squeeze. "I'd say we have, and we'll be sure to talk to Martha about, what was it, Russian Blues?" he asks him, before he bids the Doctor farewell.

When Winslow has gone off to lunch, Matt holds Daisy gently while she lets out her emotions. "He's a good man Daisy, you should be proud he's your dad," he says. "And I know his memories are gone, but deep down in his soul, I think he still loves you."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Yes, but who knows. Sometimes it's the cat that chooses us and we have no control over it." Winslow says while he is starting to walk away, hands in his pockets, eventually starting to disappear down the street. Not that it stops Daisy from expanding her own senses, wanting to sense and feel her father for her long as she can, the vibrations of his being. It felt in the way she answers with some of her own.

Daisy has never been the type to cry out all the time. Sure, Matt has seen her doing so in low points of her life. Right now though, there's both a mix of happiness but also sadness to it, her fingers squeezing the man close to her, both in thanks and feeling protected. "I just want him to be happy." she says quietly, but she seems to take heart to those last words, "Do you really think so?" an hopeful tone to her voice, her head turning slightly so she can look up at Matt's face.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"So, I've heard," Matt says, with a warm grin for the doctor before letting him go, then all his attention was focused on Daisy.

When he holds her, they may as well be the only people standing on the street, he doesn't care that she's crying, he feels no embarrassment about it, he understands. "He feels happy," Matt assures her, "Really, one of the happiest people I met. You've given him a real gift, a life without pain, letting him be the person he could have been if everything that broke him hadn't happened," he feels her looking up so he turns his head down towards her.

"I believe it," Matt says about her father still loving her. "That song he was humming? Was that Daisy Bell one I was talking about, I mean, coincidences happen, but not like that, I don't know about what was done to him, or much about the brain, but either in his subconscious or his soul, he's still holding on to you."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The way Matt holds her, without any embarassment, totally focused on her makes Daisy smile faintly through her tears, cheeks still running. The mix on her own emotions remains though. Wanting her father happy was what she wanted, but she couldn't help but feel somewhat responsible too for his past life, one that her birth had perhaps led to. Irrational thinking most likely as she had no control or decision on the matters back then, but didn't stop her from feeling guilty. "I am glad I brought you here to meet him.." she says, "This was a part of my life that I had yet to show you, even if I had told you about him by now." even if not in detail.

But then she blinks when Matt speaks about Daisy Bell, surprised. She hadn't noticed the tune. Her mouth opens, then closes. A shudder and suddenly everything seems too overwhelming to her right now. Her arms tighten around him, as if he had just given her the best gift possible. Something she verbalizes. "Thank you, Matt."

She reaches up, placing a kiss upon his cheek, the saltness of her tears still felt there. "I had him only for a few moments after so long looking. To know that he may still have something of me in there. .." she trails off, the vibrations within her appearing to answer the rest with the happiness they display, how they seem to resonate within in sync, a weight lifted off her shoulders.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Holding Daisy, Matt gently strokes her back, showing her he's there while she wrestles with her emotions. "I'm glad I met him Daisy," he says, with solemnly but with a bit of feeling at being allowed to share this moment with her.

He holds her tightly as the emotions well up inside of her evidenced by the pitch of her ever present vibrations.

Matt nods. "I believe there is," he says, "You're his daughter, nothing is ever going to change that, not where it really matters," he offers quietly. "Glad that you check in on him."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"And you even dodged the shotgun.." Daisy says with a bit of her quirky quipping returning, brushing one hand up over her eyes to clean them. She sniffs once, but true to form she stops it there, not the type to go on long emotional tirades. Instead she rests there against Matt's arms, gradually relaxing, silent, her hands around him brushing up and down on his suit.

She nods quietly at the mention of being his daughter. Those words seem to touch her. That nothing will ever change that. Hearing the man she loves tell her so makes her grin widely. "Maybe we can come by from time to time. I'd like that ..., even if it's just coming by the neighborhood."

Her eyes then go about the street, thoughtful. "Should we go look for our hotdogs?"

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt chuckles softly, his laughter a warm rumble in his chest. "True," he admits, still keeping her close. "Does that count as getting out of the way?" he teases, calling back to their usual joke about the subject of dodging.

"I'm game, and it would be good to make sure he's alright," Matt says, "Besides, it's a nice place for a walk."

He grins then as the topic turns to food, "Sounds like a plan, though speaking of food, you need to drop by the office for lunch sometime, meet Foggy and Karen." Since she had showed him a part of his life he wanted to show her part of his own.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy ponders on that a moment. "No, not dodging actually." she laughing out quietly. "You took it head on and without flinching." because hey, meeting the parents can be a difficult part, even if in Daisy's case it was somewhat different than norm.

She stays close to Matt still, within his arms, finding solace in the warmth of his laughter and his presence. A grin and she leans up to place a brief kiss on his lips. "We will just get the info from Martha and then be on our way. When do you have to be back at the office?" Yet the mention of meeting Foggy and Karen perks her up. It does seem she'd enjoy it indeed.

"I feel like I know them already considering what you have told me about each, but nothing will beat meeting them live I am sure. I would very much like it. Though are you scared that I will ferret all your secrets out of Foggy..?" A bit of a teasing tone to her, good mood quickly starting to return.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Fortunately for them, what was different for other people was pretty much their norm. Though when given the opening, Matt can't resist the joke, his mouth quivering with the barely contained laughter. "So, you're saying that I took it on like some sort of daredevil?" he asks.

"Sure," he says of the information, "And I've got a client meeting at two, so a little time yet."

He laughs easily about the idea of meeting Karen and Foggy. "On second thought, we talk about a lot of privileged information at lunch... might not be a good idea," he teases like he's suddenly backing out, before he laughs. "Just remember, Foggy is a compulsive liar and cannot be trusted," he says, nodding sagely. "He just makes up all these stories about me."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
One of her brows shoots up. "Remember what I was telling you earlier about the horrible jokes...?" but her lip was also quivering and then she is laughing out softly about it, bringing a thumb up to brush some of the wetness of her tears off his cheek. Though it was one of the many things she liked about him, facing whatever came in stride. Never flinching away.

"So that means we can still have a little time for ourselves, I am glad." She brushes another kiss up on his chin and then finally turns to start leading them, first to the clinic where they get some info on the shelters about and then to go off to find some food.

"Mmm, privileged info though?" Daisy purses her lips together. "I am all for that, being a spy you know? Stealing secrets is just what I do." that wide grin still on her expression. "And according to earlier testimony Mr. Murdock, you mentioned, and I quote "Foggy doesn't know when to shut up. He is too honest for his own good."" she then leaning in and asking. "Are you trying to change your testimony now?" she quips.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Was it that it was adorable?" Matt teases about the jokes before joins her in that cathartic laugh and offers his pocket square to help wipe away the tears.

"Sounds like it, when do you have to be back at the Trisk?" he asks, as he joins her to get the info from the clinic and go searching for classic New York street meat.

"Hey, no spying on my clients," Matt says, firmly but with good humour. "Don't want to end up on the opposite side of a civil rights case from you," he says, though he goes easily into joking about his prior testimony. "My law partners duplicity only came to light recently, which is why I've changed my testimony. Indeed I discovered it only after opposing counsel suggested she might be able to get secrets out of the aforementioned partner, but it should be noted the timing in this regard was purely coincidental and was in no way related."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The pocket square is welcome by Daisy, she using it to wipe out the tears that were still on her eyes and cheeks. "Mmm, such a gentleman shark.." she tells him, though the only response that he gets out of the question if his horrible jokes are adorable is she sticking her tongue out at him, which may or may not register in the type of vibrations she sends out, amusement there on her.

She again goes back to wrapping her arm about Matt's, calmly walking down the street, "Tomorrow. Are you going to try and convince me to stay the night?" in truth it's not like it sounds she needs too much convincing... Or any at all!

But then she is laughing out when Matt goes on a speech as if they were on a courtroom. "I really gave you the opening for showing off again, didn't I?" she replies with a grin. "But very well, I am a benevolent judge and shall accept that it was all purely coincidental. Objection sustained."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Oh that amusement registers and Matt laughs freely, "With a heart," he adds at the whole 'Gentleman Shark' business, "Can't go forgetting your own nicknames for me Tremors."

He wraps his own arm around Daisy's shoulder, using his other hand to use the cane to feel ahead of him. "Well, I wasn't until you mentioned until you didn't have to be back until tomorrow," he grins. "You good hanging out until I'm finished work?" he asks her.

"A little bit, and we're totally butchering court procedure here, but got to say it's fun banter," he grins. "But seriously, looking forward to you meeting Karen and Foggy. Maybe after that we can work our way up to meeting Jessica Jones."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Squinting briefly at her old nemesis, Tremors, Daisy then murmurs quietly. "You know ..., one day I will discover how the rumor of that nickname came out back at SHIELD and when I do ...." she says in a threatening 'or else!' tone, with that underlying amusement always present. The proximity, that arm around her makes her lean against Matt while they walk, her arm sliding about his waist in a comfortable manner, she clearly relaxing. "I am. I do miss that roof, and meditating atop it. Might just catch up on that..." she says quietly.

But then a look up at Matt, brow quirking. "What do you mean we are butching court procedure? I will let you know I saw all episodes of law and order. I am a professional now." she hmphs just to show how serious she is about it (not much), "Oh, so we need preparation to meet Jessica? I remember chopsticks and chinese takeout is a must.." a callout to when he spoke to her about an earlier meeting.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Don't look at me, you're the only person I know at SHIELD," Matt offers with a grin. "There's no way I could have gotten them that nickname," he says. He grins broadly, though, which suggests he might not be telling the whole truth though. "Well you're welcome to it," he says, reaching into his pocket and producing his keys, offering them over to Daisy. "Guess we should take the plunge and get you a set as well, huh?" he smiles, arm around her shoulders still as he offers the keys.

"Mm, yeah, that's what they do at law school, play episodes of Law and Order," he grins, "Though, got to say, growing up, I did love that show, even if I did end up one of the 'bad guy' defense lawyers," he says with a smirk.

"Heh, yeah, the chinese takeout and chopsticks are a must, the rest is just making sure you have a thick enough skin, she tends to be a bit abrasive."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"This is all very suspicious. I will have to social engineer the heck out of you and figure out what connections you may have. Mmmmmm..." Yet Daisy doesn't sound as if she's being serious at all with that, even going as far as offering him a squeeze with that arm about his waist to show she forgives him regardless. So magnanimous! But her attention is then down on those keys, blinking once, not exactly having expected it. For once she doesn't really have a big quip to give in return, instead just wrapping her hand around Matt's, pressing the keys between their palms. It takes her a bit but then she finally answers. "I want to take that plunge with you." her tone soft, cheek resting against Matt's shoulder. Was she nervous about it? Or glad they had finally decided to take this step? Perhaps a mix of both.

"So did I. They did reruns at the orphanage.., but you know that by now, don't you?" she grins at the memories of that, one that they most likely shared. "And you are one of those sharks with a heart so you are fine on my book, Mr. Murdock."

No comment on being abrasive, she could be quite abrasive too when she wanted too, though normally her good humor tended to win the day. No joke that it was so easy for her to make friends the way she did. She seems amused though at the friends Matt has, not too different from her own. Special, all with their quirks.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
He grins at the squeeze becoming more serious as the topic turns to the keys and what making Daisy her own set would mean. "I am too," he says, deciding like most things in his life to face them head on. "Actually, before I have to head back, let's find a key cutting place and get you a set made," he decides, leaving the keys in Daisy's hands for now. Was he nervous? Definitely, but it felt right.

He grins, "Thanks," he says about being alright in her book.

"So, what do you say, find a hot dog, then get you your keys?" he asks her, about their plans for the rest of their break together.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
What this all means, the steps they are taking, facing them head on, isn't lost on Daisy. She looks down at the keys on her hand fondly before she pockets them quietly. She can't help but quip right after though. "I should fetch you a copy of the keys to my van too." because it's so comparable! But then she is smiling up at him, head bumping against his shoulder, walking, the nervous flutter on her belly replaced by an happy feeling. Yes they were taking decisions that could lead them through difficult paths. But they would face them together.

The question about their plans for their break has her stop. "It's a good plan, but first.." she turns to face him there on the middle of the street, her arms curling up to rest about Matt's neck. "... Thank you for one of the best days of my life." talking with her father, learning that he could still remember something and having Matt here with her to meet him, the decisions they were taking about their own lives.. She was happy, more than she could perhaps show with her words. So she used actions instead.

She gently pulls him down to her so their lips meet in a kiss, her eyes closing, pouring all she felt into it.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt grins at the offer of the keys to her van, "You'd better," he tells her with a laugh. "Not doing this for nothing you know," he says.

It was true there was a lot of difficulty in the path they've chosen but he was confident they could face those diffculties together. Besides, he wasn't going to give up on a thing without at least trying to have it, and a life with Daisy was worth fighting for.

Matt smiles warmly at Daisy's words, "Glad I could be part of that," he tells her fondly, arms wrapping around her waist as hers close about his shoulders.

Matt is pulled easily into the kiss, and can feel all she pours into it, pouring his own gratitude for including him in this part of her life into it himself.

Though New York being New York, just as they were melting into the kiss, somone shouts, "Get a room, you two!" to the chuckles of the passers by. Matt smiles against Daisy's lips at the little quirks of his city, and lets the kiss linger a bit longer before breaking away and bumping his nose against hers.

"So, how about we get that hot dog, huh?" he asks with a grin.
