Synopsis: Peter and Gwen face off in a PARKOUR challenge, and despite one clearly getting to the finish line first, they both end up winners in the end.
Cast of Characters: Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy

Peter Parker has posed:
The day has come. PARKOUR DAY.

Despite having resolved between the two of them to try to spend time as Peter and Gwen, the siren call of running PARKOUR through the city was too much to resist, and so Spider-man and Ghost Spider have arranged to meet on a rooftop. What had originally began as a bet over an air hockey game has emerged into its own challenge, as the original bet was a draw. Instead, BOTH are now going to be engaging in the challenge, and of course the requirement to shout PARKOUR whenever doing anything cool.

Peter has thought ahead and rigged up various cameras through the nearby buildings, webbed up to the sides and with auto-follow technology. He has also brought two head mounted cameras in case the two of them decide they want to do that. It may clash with Gwen's aesthetic after all.

He stands and waits on the rooftop for Gwen's arrival, stretching out and getting limber. Sure, the purpose is to have fun and engage in some exercise. But he also wants to look good doing it. While he has many skills, Gwen's effortless acrobatics generally seems better than his. And he does not intend to lose!

Gwen Stacy has posed:
PARKOUR day! Had Gwen been looking forward to it? Very much so. But of course there were still some doubts...

> Are we doing this in civvies? No. Costumes, right?

Because expectations had to be managed as she really didn't know what Peter had arranged for it. But considering it was Peter she imagined something like....

"Holy smokes! You really went all out." Gwen exclaims when she swings in and lands on that rooftop, dressed in the black and white costume with the pink rims that shows her as being Ghost Spider. "Just don't sell these to the JJJ or we are going to have trouble." she warns in a playful manner, watching all the apparatus of cameras everywhere ready to record their PARKOUR.

And as for the GoPro to put on their heads? Yep, Peter guessed it: "This messes with my suit aesthetic..." this said while she is trying to get it secure atop her head. "Maybe if I ...." and then she is adjusting the hood to partially cover the thing. "Yep, just a little longer..." a beat, "Done."

"Just don't let Janet see these or she would faint." Janet Van Dyne, the actual designer of her suit. "She can really amp up her fashion police sense just like that.." a snap of fingers.

Peter Parker has posed:
Laughing softly as Gwen arrives, Peter glances around. "I mean, you wanted a great PARKOUR experience, right? And I mean, us in our civvies might be fun, but what's the point of having an activity date with a super hero if you don't take advantage of being a super hero?"

He watches as she assembles the Go Pro on her head, tilting a bit as she adjusts the hood. "Honestly, I added the remotes because I figured that you might not want the camera to show, so it'll be tough I think to get good video." He plays with the Go Pro in his own hands. "We could skip them, and just do the 3rd person shots. I mean, honestly, who wants to get a Spider's eye view of this really?"

He takes a few steps back as he continues to stretch, watching Gwen. "And trust me, this is just for our own private personal use. I'd never let JJJ get his hands on anything about you. Just me, and the villains."

He rolls his head around. "Ok, well, if you are ready..." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a spider tracer. "Just so there can be no accusations of cheating once I win, or that I practiced the course..." He flicks some webbing between two fingers, places the spider-tracer between, pulls back slowly, and then flicks it high up into the air like a sling shot. The wind catches the tracer and it flows over before appearing to land on a rooftop several blocks away.

One last crack of his knuckles, and then he looks at Gwen. "So. To the tracer, whoever gets their fastest, extra points for style. What's the winner get?"

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"An activity date? That's what this is?" Her face is hidden behind the mask but there's a smirk felt in each of those words when Gwen says them, her hands resting on her hips before she lets out a laugh. "Don't worry, you don't have to answer if you don't want to."

"And with the GoPro camera in place she seems as ready as she will ever be. She starts on a few stretches of her own, long linger legs stretched to the max as she loosens limbs and muscles, warming up for that intense PARKOUR-ing to come.

"So, freeform? Do we want any rules?" then a bit more streeetching, moving her hips in a rotation. "Ooo, I see you thought of everything indeed ... But .., I have another challenge." and she lifts a finger in the air. "No webs, no gluing ourselves to walls. Just PARKOUR and gymnastics. Since it'd just be a walk in the park otherwise.."

"I am sure the winner can think of something?" A beat and then she utters loudly. "PARKOUR!" and then she is running across the rooftop, getting a headstart.

Such a cheat!

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter had known that term was loaded after it left his mouth, and part of him hoped that Gwen wouldn't call him out on it. Part of him knew it'd be inevitable. She can see his mouth twisting as he starts to provide an answer after a long pause, right as she lets him off the hook. Probably best for both of them. He just segues right into the challenge itself.

"No webs. No gluing. Agreed." He watches as she stretches, probably more than he really should. But, what else is he going to watch, pigeons?

Once again he opens his mouth to respond to her challenge, and once again it goes unspoken as she shouts out the code word and takes off. He should have known that was coming too.

"PARKOUR!" he shouts back and he turns and takes off after her. Headstart indeed.

He seems to let her keep the lead coming up to the first leap and building. Maybe his secret strategy is to follow her and let her figure out the best route.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
When Gwen was bitten by a spider it gave her more than that uncanny agility and hips to die for. It also gave her the measure of strength needed to do what she does next. Which is to jump off the building with the kind of running start that no mortal person would be able to achieve. She literally flies through the air, flipping her body mid-air to then roll in the landing rooftop to absorb the impact. "PARKOUR!" she shouts. Sort of a rule after all..

Momentum doesn't break as she comes out of the roll in a slide, under a ventilation tube that has her have to slide with her back near the ground and then up to her feet to continue running, jumping up the stairs of the fire emergency ladders from the outside, holding to the iron rims.

"Come on, Spiderman. Make it a real challenge!" she taunts back over her shoulder. She knows Peter can have a competitive nature! And there's still the final prize to be decided.

She reaches the top of the building, spotting one of the cameras set by Peter and touches a couple of fingers to her lips to send a kiss to it, along with a wink. "PARKOUR!" yes, she clearly knows style.

Peter Parker has posed:
Watching Gwen leap through the air as his own legs are taking him to the jump-off point, Peter cannot help but admire her. And realize that watching her do these amazing feats is probably similar to what other people get watching him do similar ones. Except she just has so much more...grace...to her body. He leaps off the roof as well, and follows her similarly with a flip, but Peter takes a slightly different tactic. He spins out of the flip, and lands with his hands on the roof, absorbing and redirecting his momentum to propel him up and backwards, flipping up _onto_ the ventilation tube. "PARKOUR!" he shouts, following the rules.

After briefly landing on the ventilation tube it is time for another flip, his feet not even taking the time to get set before he is in the air again, launching himself at the fire escape. He comes close to catching up to Gwen, but she still has an edge on him as he grabs onto one of the rims of the ladder, spinning around and then throwing him upward.

"Like this?" asks Peter, facing her as his body flies past the spot she is climbing. He is focused on her more than the camera, and gives her his own "PARKOUR!" as he rolls onto the next building.

This one is a bit more pedestrian, and Peter goes running ahead and dodging the ventilation exhausts as he considers how to get to the next building. It is easily jumpable, but there needs to be style! He arcs his path along to the large radio tower in the center of the building, and takes a leap as he approaches. Perhaps he is seeking greater height for his leap to the next building.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Oooh, now it's a real race!" Gwen shouts after Peter when he jumps past her when they get up to the top of that building. Not that she stays behind for long, her presence felt nipping at his heels as they run, jump, flip and slide past various obstacles. And with the occasional "PARKOUR" shouted with full lungs. The blonde clearly seems to be enjoying herself right now, grinning under her mask.

They are both close to that radio tower now and apparently get the same idea as she also increases her speed to find a good running start that enables her to jump up in the air....

"PARKOUR!" in mid-air of course...

And then her hand catches hold of the tower. It doesn't stop her, instead she using her momentum to spin around the tower and throwing herself even further up.. And just as it seems she might not make it and fall back down she catches hold of another fire escape, pulling herself up and doing a few spins around the iron bar as if she was some kind of olympic gymnast, legs straight and her poise elegant.

It makes her lose some time while doing that but then again she is having fun!

Peter Parker has posed:
The mix of stretching his powers, the feel of the air against his face through the mask, and hearing the excitement in Gwen's voice sends Peter's pulse racing. He can feel the energy helping him to run faster, be bolder. They did both have the same idea to use the tower, but Peter it seems had a different plan in mind. Like Gwen, he shouts "PARKOUR" as he leaps to the tower, using his hands instead of his legs to catch pieces, twist, pull, and leap up the side. He laughs as Gwen take a more elegant and graceful approach, truly appreciating it. And looking forward to seeing what kind of shots the cameras were going to get.

As he spirals his way up the tower, he grabs onto the last possible handhold and starts spinning around it, like an high bar gymnastic going again and again to build up momentum for a solid dismount. Finally achieving the velocity he wants, Peter flips himself up into the air, shooting up like a bullet. Well clear of any possible pieces of building to grab, it looks like a miscalculation. Until he twists into a flip and stretches out, and...

Did he really add back in those webbing flaps he had under his arms in his early days just to be able to do a gliding trick today? Yes, yes he did.

"PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRR!" he calls out to Gwen as he glides, buffeted by the air. Sure, she is moving faster, but with his height, it appears that he is going to entirely skip the next building! Which means that once he lands, there will be only one more building to traverse until the end.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
The swinging around the post from Peter is perhaps something Gwen expected. But the webbing flaps catch her by surprise. It also gives him quite the advantage on the race! "Cheat!" she shouts after him as he glides past. But he can also hear her laughing at having been surprised like that.

With little hopes of catching up Gwen again swings across to land on a building. But it's one building behind Peter. Not that she gives up, running and jumping over a couple of obstacles to get to the edge and jumping across, hands catching on the bar of an american flag and she pushing herself up, past a pair of onlookers out a window that let a scared cry!

"Sorry, friendly neighborhood ghost spider coming through!" she says in a not-so-apologetic manner. "Also, PARKOUR!"

More fuel to the fire for JJJ. 'Ghost Spider joins Spider Man in being a public menace in New York!' she can already see the headlines in the newspaper. No regrets though!

Peter Parker has posed:
"OOOOUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRR!" Spider-man lands on the opposite building by tucking in his arms and shifting into a flip as he plummets toward the ground. He lands with a roll, and spins a bit as he lips up. Is he showboating by running backwards a few steps to watch Gwen do the leap from the flag?

As Gwen lands on the building he twists around and takes off at a full run. He does a few fairly straightforward leaps, hand out to propel him over a long duct ("PARKOUR!"), a quick grab of a chimney to send him into a leap ("PARKOUR!"), and then one final jump through the air takes him nearly to the end of the roof. And to the tracker stuck against the brick wall.

He watches Gwen's final approach before tapping the wall. He rolls up the bottom of his mask to allow him to breathe a bit easier, and issues as she comes into conversation range a quieter, somewhat smug, "Parker Parkour." Then he laughs softly as he grins.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Gwen emerges shortly after on that rooftop, jumping to land on a nearby wall but hanging on to it now. She remains upside down, shooting a web and then lowering herself slowly. "Seems the victor goes to the CHEAT!" she announces, but it's a good humored accusation. "I suppose we never agreed on not using our suits potentials to help us win. It was a good one, Peter .., Parkour. Ugh... I can't say that with a straight face..."

"And I think I can't say parkour for at least ..., a week now." she continues dangling from her web, exertion visible in the way her chest heaves up and down through the skin-tight fabric. It was quite the workout after all.

"Did you get an idea for what you'd want for winning?" she then asks.

Peter Parker has posed:
There is a smile evident on Peter's face, with the mask rolled up allowing full visibility. He is still laboring on his breathing - the effort of trying to push himself to his max to overcome the comparably able Gwen causing him to get a solid work-out. "I mean, it was not in the rules, so..." Peter grins broadly as he watches her, nodding with her appreciation of his joke. "I mean, it was right there, right?"

He watches her as she hangs upside down and he slowly walks over. "I have to say, it looks way cooler when you do that."

He considers the question. "I thought the prize was just getting a chance to watch you perform?" He slows as he stands just before her, nodding to himself. "Let's see...what would be a prize worth winning?"

He takes a breath, and then he reaches out to uncurl her mask a bit, to reveal her mouth. A moment perhaps to let her stop him if he has misread anything. And then he leans in to bring his lips to hers.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Ghost Spider remains on that upside down posture, legs curled and keeping her weight on the web which leaves her arms free. As Peter approaches she shakes her head..., at the joke. "Just because it was right there it doesn't mean you should make the joke.." there. Some judgement about that joke! Yet it doesn't stop Peter from what he does next which is to curl her mask down. Was she expecting it? There isn't much of a surprise in those ruby lips as they revealed. Instead there is only an elegant smile. Expectant..

The final approach is met with her hands coming up to rest on the sides of Peter's head. Not to pull him away but to bring him closer to her, all the way until their lips meet at last and they fall into a kiss, deep and intimate. A flurry of emotions and memories of the past that return yet she doesn't let them linger for long, using them to pave way for something new.

And so she gives her all into that kiss, passionate in that way Gwen can be, heart thundering in her chest and now not only because of the earlier exertion.

Peter Parker has posed:
There is always that bit of hesitation to Peter Parker. The poster child for imposter syndrome. One of the most regarded heroes in the city, who still wonders if he belongs to stand next to the Tony Starks or Steve Rogers of the world. So even though there were signs, there is still that slight bit of hesitation, caution. The importance of what Gwen means to him, in so many respects, making him pause.

Luckily for him, Gwen has no such hang-ups. He moves in closer as he sees the smile, his heart swelling in feeling, and then her hands come to his he lets himself go and flow into the kiss. His hands brush against her cheeks now that the mask has been rolled away, and he pours himself into the kiss. The release of so much anticipation, suppressed by worry and concern, but building up behind that well.

Maybe the position helps, but Peter's biggest fear, that somehow he would not be able to see this Gwen as this Gwen, is dispelled immediately. The kiss is not the same as memory, and in that moment Peter feels the fullness of that transition that he had been feeling. This is not any lingering affection - this is something pure, focused on the Gwen that is before him. He melts himself into that kiss, his entire body filled with the excitement but also the sheer satisfaction of having that connection. What started tentative has become anything but, as Peter likewise puts every bit of him into kissing Gwen.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
The hesitation is noted on Peter, it mirrored her own even if she doesn't outwardly show it much. That not knowing what they can make of this. Of being afraid that Peter is still lingering in that past Gwen. The one she inherited much of but isn't exactly her. But in the same way she isn't the Ghost Spider that traversed through an universe to land here anymore. A mixture of both Gwen's. Something new.

And as Peter gives himself to the kiss she feels it too, that breaking of an unspoken barrier between them that made each hesitant to move forward into something more, something beautiful.

The kiss continues as if for an eternity, Gwen's elegant fingertips remaining pressed to Peter's, eyes closed as lips and tongue explore full of intensity and passion of a first kiss. As it eventually comes to an end and she breaks the kiss she doesn't bring the mask back over her face, remaining dangling upside down.

Peter Parker has posed:
There is such an overwhelming sense of relief on the part of Peter when Gwen seems to go through that same experience with him. He figured she had to have the same hangups, the same lack of assuredness. The same doubts about what they were to each other now, compared to what they had been, in some respects. But that relief is nothing compared to the overwhelming sense of happiness that fills him at her response.

His thumbs gently trace against the underside of her jaw, feeling along with her motions as he gives himself over to her, drawing out the deep kiss as long as he can. When it finally breaks, he does not move, his breath warm against her face as he struggles now to catch it for entirely different reasons than the parkour.

Spider-man is legendarily known for being able to keep his cool in any situation, and always be armed with a clever quip. One might expect him to summon one up after this. It would be fitting. But there is nothing entering Peter's mind, dizzied at the overwhelming emotion and pleasure wrapped up in that kiss. A first kiss has such promise to it.

"Parkour." he breathes out softly against her lips.
