Cast of Characters: Danielle Moonstar, Rahne Sinclair

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar had been doing forest work, moving quietly, stalking animals. It's part of her spiritual work, too, becoming one with nature, learning to expand her senses, both human and empathic. She's taken a shower since returning and has her thick, black hair pulled back into a ponytail, wearing a Xavier's tank top in grey and a pair of biker shorts, barefoot as she pads around. She hears the knock on the door and momentarily flexes her mind, raising an eyebrow as she senses the identity of the young woman on the other side.

Dani flings open the door and smiles at the young shifter, her eyes sparkling a bit, "Well, hello there, young Scot, You've been away too long., So have I for that matter," she says, offering an embrace to Wolfsbane.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
The shorter girl stands just outside. The redhead is wearing a baggy grey sweater and a pair of knee-torn black jeans, with athletic shoes. She is holding a plate of freshly baked cookies in hand. She blushes and grins, leaning into the embrace and holding the plate aside. "Aye. Sorry. I've been dealin' with a lot," she replies in that thick accent of hers. Her nose twitches as she picks up the scents of the other girl and the bedroom.

"They baked some cookies and I managed to snag a few while they were fresh. Hungry?," she asks.

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar nods, "No need to apologize. We all have home baggage to deal with., Mine had claws, if you'll recalll," she says. She closes the the door behind Rahne and welcomes her in, "I'm always hungry for cookies. I just did a couple of miles out in the forest, although not at full clip, thank the gods. I don't have to keep quite as keen a regimen now that I'm a graduate. Lots I miss about the old days, but being a student isn't one of them."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
"Oh, I remember. Vividly." She offers a small, lopsided smile. She follows her into the room and glances about, taking it all in after a good while. "Mn. I'm not there yet. Almost, though. I -should- be graduating next semester, so that's exciting." She walks over and sits on the edge of the bed, holding up the plate in both hands to offer a cookie to the taller girl.

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar shakes her head, "It's amazing anyone can keep track of who has what credits to graduate. We're all away on missions or dealing with havoc too often to keep a regular schedule. Of course Sam kept up on all his homework, but the rest of us aren't him."

""I'm glad you're back. You were missed. Always were kind of team spirit and team conscience. Not that we're exactly a team anymore. I'm not sure what we are," she says, thinking about her own recent exploits with X-Force,

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
"At least it's not me. Math and me are not friends," the Scot says with a laugh. She blushes a hint at the mention of being missed. It's a bright red on her pale skin. "Friends? We can be friends. And yeah, I'm...trying to decide where to really focus my energy team-wise..."

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar smiles, "Of course we can," she says. She and Rahne are of an age, but it's hard not to see Rahne as a little younger, mgiven her sheltered upbringing. Still, she's grown a lot, too.

"Don't be rushed. Figure out where you fit, if you fit at all. Nobody's obligated to do anything, no matter how sternly Jean Grey looks at you if you don't have a life plan yet."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
She smiles softly at that and nods. She sets the cookies aside on the bed. "Thanks. It can get pretty overwhelming sometimes. I've gone back to hiding in the vents sometimes." Something she did back in the day. Crawling around the vents. Watching. Hiding. "Makes me feel safe."

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar puts a hand on her hips, "Well, I don't know how safe that is. Check with someone techy, I guess. Last thing we need is you getting cooked. But needing a place to yourself, I get it. If you ever need someplace more comfy than that, you're always welcome ducking in here. I have much softer places to nap." she smiles. "Anybody wants to bother you, mthey'll have to get through me."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
She sprawls back on the bed at that and nods, glancing up at the ceiling. "This -is- softer," she admits with a laugh. The redhead glances over at Dani from where she's laid out. "So...what've you been up to? Catch me up."

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar plops down to sit at the edge of the bed, "I went back to the reservation for a while. Got in touch with some things., Got a different kind of training, too. More of the spiritual kind., Hunting things like the Demon Bear is going to be a calling of mine. I have to make sure I'm up to the challenge," she says. "But that's my personal business, not a mutant problem. I just got back a couple of weeks ago myself. Mostly I've just gone to pool parties, although I know there was some receont conflict with a creature known as the Shadow King. Oh, and Boom Boom is a telepath now," she says, with a shrug.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
The redhead sits up on her elbows and watches Dani. She listens and then nods softly. "Well, I'm glad you're back. It's weird not having you around. I...don't really...I'm not good at making new friends," she admits with an embarassed smile. "And I helped you with that Bear before...if you ever need help in your new...job...you just let me know. In case you need a wolf around."

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar smiles, "I might take you up on that. A lot of the others here aren't particularly wilderness ready. And the ones that are tend to either by older or just outright lethal. Which isn't a bad thing, always, but I appreciate that you're not a bloodthirsty type., Helps keep things in balance," she says. "And yes, you did help, and I'll always be grateful to you and the others for all you did to help me. To save me."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
That brings another small blush, and she tucks a locke of red behind her ear. "Well, you helped me, too. We all helped eachother. We all needed eachother back then. Still do." That last admission makes her glance aside.

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar smiles, "I guess we do at that," she says, reaching out to stroke the redhead's hair. "No matter how much we grow or go through, we'll always be the New Mutants underneath it," she says. "With the scars and the memories that come with it, good and bad. In your case, pretty much all good," she grins. "Have you seen any of the others yet? Or am I the lucky first?"

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
Her eyes close as her hair is brushed through with fingers. Her hair is short and shaggy, a bit long around her ears. She swallows. She doesn't open her eyes for awhile, but she shakes her head, then. "I know Jay's around, but no. I haven't really looked for anyone elose. You were...uh...you were first."

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar can't help but be a little concerned, staying as she is and leaving her hand resting softly on Rahne's shoulder, "I'm glad to be first," she says, unable to resist a little preening. "You want anything to eat or drink? I'd offer you some weed, but I doubt you'd take me up," she teases.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
Rahne grins a bit and opens her eyes, glancing over. "No, no weed. I could do for a drink, though. If a priest can drink, so can I, right?" The girl sits up again and kicks off her shoes before pulling her feet up onto tjhe bed.

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar grins, "A drink I can manage. I think I have whiskey, rum and tequila. Also some beer, but honestly, it's kinda cheap stuff," she says. She goes to get the bottles, still barefoot herself as she moves to mix a couple of drinks for them, "I'll use some coke to help with the whiskey," she grins, making Jack and Cokes for the pair of them. "Most of the priests in my culture take some sort of hallucinogenic herb or mushroom. I promise, no ayahuasca for you, no dream walking tonight. Just a comfy night with your old pal, Moonstar," she winks.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
The redhead smiles. "Whiskey. My ancestors'd curse me, otherwise." She wiggles her toes and waits, reaching out to take her drink when it makes its way over in her hands. "Sounds like a dream," she admits. She brings the glass up for a small sip, and then takes a much larger gulp.

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar takes her own seat on the bed, curling her legs underneath her, "My dreams can be dangerous places, now and again," she says. "But I wouldn't drag you into one of those unprepared. You're safe here with me, that's for certain," she says, knowing her old friend can be nervous at times. "You can probably handle more than I can. You've got that regeneration thing. Must be handy."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
"It can be," she admits. "Comes with some drawbacks," she says with a wink. She takes another draw on the Jack and Coke, as if trying to build up her resolve. "So, um...remember how I was dating Blink? Before?"

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar takes a slow sip of her own and nods, "I remember something like that. I wasn't sure how serious you were, but I was glad you were getting out there. I also know that it couldn't have been easy on you, I know something of how you were raised, you must've struggled a lot..."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
"Oh, I did. Lots of confession. But...I know I'm cursed and alkl that, but...I don't think my sexuality is one of the things that makes me that. Does...that make sense?," she asks. She glances over at the other girl.

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar sighs, "I don't think you're cursed. I know that's something they drilled into you, but curses...are more complicated than that. And they don't usualy have much to do with love,l" she says. "I'm glad you've come to understand that your sexuality isn't a reason for anything like that. As a queer person myself, I'm glad that you recognize it," she says.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
"Right. Right. About that..." She clears her throat and takes another long pull from her drink. "Do you want to...I don't know...do something sometime? Not as a hangout but as...I..." She looks a good bit flustered now.

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar can't help but flush a little bit as she takes a long sip of her drink, "My dear Rahne, are you asking me out?" she asks with a grin. "I...you've taken me a little by surprise, I admit, I wasn't sure if I was your type, but...I mean you're cute as a damn button, I'd be a fool to say anything other than an enthusiastic yes," she smiles

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
She takes a deep breath and laughs, then, draining her glass. "I...aye, I'm asking you out. How could you not be my type? Crushed on you for ages now," she admits, a hint tipsy. She brushes her fingers back through her hair. "Okay. So...first date, then. Cool."

Danielle Moonstar has posed:
Danielle Moonstar nods, "Traditional dating is a little weird, given how long we've known each other. I think it's more we're just...hanging out and open to things happening. Less than platonic things, Kissing things," she teases, reaching out to boop the tip of Rahne's nose with her finger.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
"R-right. Aye, that makes sense. Kissing things. Right." She crosses her eyes to look at the booping finger and grins. "I wanna wait till the perfect romantic moment to get that first kiss, but also I wanna make up for a few years of crushing,. I'm dumb."
