Date of Scene: 13 August 2022
Location: Wayne Estate - Bristol Township
Synopsis: Summary
Cast of Characters: Alfred Pennyworth, Jim Gordon, Tim Drake, Lonnie Machin, Freddy Freeman, Emiko Queen, Damian Wayne

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
It was a quite the beautiful day, amplified at once by the scenic grandeur of the Wayne Estate - the sun scintillating off the roof of the manor and the somewhat distant lake. The grounds were host to what looked to be some kind of party, including tables laden with refreshments and some light morsels of food to include both sandwiches and pastries of various sorts.

Where things began to get strange was when one noticed a slightly different table: one burdened with a small selection of freshly purchased rifles and shotguns and their respective ammunition and beside them a small stack of long but decidedly modern looking spears. Just aside the armament table was a recently built covered fire pit that looked big enough for a hog (or perhaps more.)

Anyone familiar with the Wayne manor would realize these weren't anything from within but rather top of the line hunting equipment for whatever bizarre purpose Alfred had in mind. The butler himself was in rare form - his normal attire exchanged for something that looked as if it were lifted from a book about British hunters in Africa complete with khaki shorts and a wide brimmed safari hat.

Slightly less formal than usual, Alfred none the less padded about to greet guests and family alike, ensuring people had water and the like though it seemed like some excitement or thrill seized the man - one long shelved in his old age - as a broken down shotgun hung over one arm, lovingly oiled and obviously quite older than the other hunting equipment.

Jim Gordon has posed:
The Wayne grounds are always somewhere that Jim Gordon feels uncomfortable on. He's a man of the beaten dwon city, and the gorgeous estate always makes him feel out of place. So as he's going to look at all o fthe very, very fine hunting weapons set out all he can do in his own mind with great personal amusement is think about his service revolver in comparison to them.
"I really prefer to get my things already prepared in the supermarket." The Commissioner would let out a low chuckle. "But I suppose I can try the old fashioned way."

Tim Drake has posed:
It's pretty obvious that Tim has no intentions of doing any actual boar hunting. He looks like he's just rolled out of bed, though that might just be the result of the wind messing with his hair on the casual stroll it took to get him down here from the manor. Hands in his pockets, he affords the table of weaponry a long look from afar before he clears his throat.

"Hey, Alfred. Commissioner," he greets, tone perfectly pleasant (if a touch surprised at that last part) even as he frantically runs through the datafile on Anarky stored in his brain. Okay, he's pretty sure there's no reason for Jim Gordon to know who Lonnie is. Right?

Right. Okay. At least Tim's other guest isn't a (semi) reformed criminal. "I don't know if you've met Emiko?" That is, of course, directed at the Wayne family butler as Tim hikes a thumb over his shoulder at Emi. "She's a friend of mine. Oliver Queen's sister--maybe Bruce has had them over for dinner or a party or anything like that in the past."

He waves both Emiko and Lonnie towards the food, even if he himself is staying back.

Lonnie Machin has posed:
Near Tim's side, looking as distinctly as uncomfortable and out of place as can be, Lonnie has his hair up in a bun, is wearing a canvas jacket, and he has on an "A Million Things That Never Happened" t-shirt under it, and the usual ripped-jeans and mad comfortable sneakers, along with a pair of black wire-frame sunglasses.
He looks over at Tim, and you can see the gears clicking and count the seconds before something comes out of his mouth. Four, three, two...
Then he casually reaches out with one hand and pushes Tim's hair back from his forehead, and doesn't say a thing.

Freddy Freeman has posed:
Freddy Freeman is a relative unknown on the grounds of the Wayne Estate. He has been here a couple times hanging out with Damian. And that's why he's here today. Well, that and the free food. Our walking stomach is basically feeding six gods so he tends to eat more than his scrawny, teenage frame would suggest. He moves slowly along the grass enabled by his metal crutch that is clasped at his left elbow. Despite the effort of walking with the crutch and the near-constant pain his bum leg is in, the kid is smiling ear to ear just really happy to be here.

Walk-thunk-walk-thunk-walk-thunk-walk-thunk.

There are a lot of unknown faces here and Freddy has this habit of waving and saying "Hi!" when he sees someone he doesn't know, which is basically happening every ten seconds right now. He appears to be looking around with a hopeful expression on his face as though he is searching for someone or something.

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko came to geek out over a video game with Tim. Emiko is staying for what looks like a hunt of some kind.

Dressed in sleek black with subtle touches of red here and there, she approaches the rifle and shotgun laden table with a polite smile and a curious eye towards the firearms. She has an experienced hand when she looks them over, then turns towards Alfred with a brighter smile, "Emiko Queen, it's truly a pleasure to meet you, Mister Pennyworth. Your cookies are legendary."

Turning towards Jim, she gives a small nod, "Commissioner Gordon, it's a pleasure to meet you as well. I don't envy you your job, but I can certainly appreciate how well you do it." Then over to Tim with a lifted brow, "Is there a hunt being organized? Should I have brought my gear?" The unspoken question being 'what kind of hunt is this and should I have brought my /gear/?'.

Jim Gordon has posed:
Jim Gordon would turn to Emiko, "Thank you, a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Save your appreciation for the host of the event that owns the land we're all on and has arranged it." He's not sure if the owner of the estatew ill be there himself or not, but there seem to be at least a few individuals from the family line present from what Jim can see about.
"And please call me Jim. A pleasure to meet you." The mention of 'gear' is filed away ina drawer of notices tagged with 'things that he cannot officially acknowledge what he suspects are' in his mind.

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Obviously bounding with energy for the day (and in obvious contrast to some of his complaints to the family privately) Alfred offered a jaunty wave and inclination of his head to those he was introduced to and those he was familiar with alike. "You're far too kind, Miss Queen - thank you. I'll ensure you can leave with a plate if you're sticking around for dinner. Planning to join in the hunt, Commissioner? It should be a spot safer and more enjoyable than hunting ne'er do wells," he asked with a bright grin and a dry chuckle as he took a long draught from a bottled water.

Positively beaming, the chuckle turned into something approaching boisterous laughter in comparison to his norm as he regarded Tim and Lonnie for a moment (and perhaps expecting something himself) before bowing his head again politely. "Excuse me just a moment."

He swept about the small 'picnic' area that had been established to procure a chair as he caught sight of Freddy, preempting the young man with the offer of a seat. "Mister Freeman! Always a pleasure to have you about. Do take a seat, if you need, can I get you anything?"

Freddy Freeman has posed:
The other morning, Alfred rousted Damian and Freddy from the sitting room floor after they fell asleep playing video games all night, and make omelets! It was the best omelet that Freddy ever had in his life. When Alfred comes over and addresses him, Freddy's already smiling face beam brighter. "Hi, Alfred! I wish you would call me Freddy. Or Fred. Or Frederick.," he says good-naturedly, giving Alfred's leg a playful whap with his crutch. He doesn't seem inclined to sit down. This fierce lil warrior doesn't let the crutch limit him if he can help it.

He peers around wide-eyed at all of the those gathered. Emiko, Jim, Lonnie, Tim. "There's a lot of people here," he says to Alfred. He nods toward Lonnie. "I met him a couple weeks ago at the comic shop but I can't remember his name." He looks at the butler hopefully. "Is Damian around today?"

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian himself had an almost all clear to go full on League of Assassins until he saw the guest list. There was a moment of sad sighing there.

No matter, if he had to look like he wasn't the super experienced hunter/assassin that he was then he'd at peast habe a good time with Freddy.

"Hey Freeman." He says, patting Freddy on the back and smiling.

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim's hair immediately falls back against his forehead after Lonnie pulls away, and Tim aims a useless puff of air upwards that similarly does not budge it anything more than temporarily. "I'm not saying I bribe half of my friends with your baked goods, Alfred, but," then he nods his head at Emiko. "Res gestae."

Then he shrugs. Towards Emi, primarily, and he answers her with a quick, "Whatever Alfred has is fine, probably. Besides, aren't there laws about traveling across state lines with firearms?" Que wide-eyed look of innocence. Purely for the benefit of the audience that isn't in The Know, so to speak. Looking at you, Jim. Wink wink, nudge nudge, et cetera.

Though Freddy's unfamiliar face probably also counts too. "Friend of Damian's?" he guesses sotto voce, between Lonnie and himself, which is of course confirmed shortly thereafter by Freddy himself. Which prompts Tim to say, "I'm Tim, Damian's brother." Something something speak of the devil, and Tim uses the opportunity of guests (AKA: witnesses) to ruffle Damian's hair as he goes past with as much brotherly affection as he can muster up.

Once in a lifetime opportunity! "And this is my boyfriend, who I guess you've already met. I'd say 'small town' even though Gotham definitely isn't, but stranger things have happened." He elbows Lonnie in the side for, you know, illustrative purposes.

Lonnie Machin has posed:
"Freddy." Lonnie says, "We met in New York, he helped me find some of the indy comics I was there looking for-" He straightens back up, and then he responds to the elbow in the side by casually dropping his arm around Tim's shoulders. "I've gotta admit," He says, "...I wasn't expecting to go hunting wild boar today. Even though I'm not against sustainable hunting - everyone needs access to protein as part of their diet."

Jim Gordon has posed:
The Commissioner would glance over at Alfred, "I suppose I can try. I can't say that I've ever done it." Jim says so lightly. Even during No Man's Land in the fallen Gotham he had been lucky in never having to resort to setting out traps for rats to eat. "And I've never heard anyone not from a television show call it 'hunting' of ne'er do wells." The Commissioner looks lightly amused.
"Unless I'm called away, I'm more than happy to stay."
Tim is given a very, very light look from Jim that Barbara would be able to translate if she saw it as 'I hear what you're saying young man, I'm going to pretend I didn't.

Emiko Queen has posed:
"I'd be delighted to stay for dinner, thank you," Emiko smiles towards Alfred, then turns it towards Jim with a chuckle. "Jim, then. But if we're going to be informal, then I insist on being 'Emi' or 'Emiko'. No 'Miss Queen'. Besides, it sounds terrible, like some sort of cruel pageant name."

Turning towards Freddy, her smile brightens as she offers a small wave in return, "Hi." She glances back to Tim and Lonnie and chuckles, "You know, if I'd known there was going to be an event, I would have brought a side dish or something. Now I feel bad." The arrival of Damian has her looking his way curiously, but limiting her greeting for him to a quick nod and brief smile.

Tim's response has her clearing her throat and chuckling, "There are, but thankfully I don't own any." She looks back to Alfred and Jim and offers a small shrug, "I was raised in Japan, no fireaarms allowed with the exception of a shotgun for hunting purposes, but because the licensing is so strict on them, most hunting is done with bows still."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
"Speak of the devil and he shall appear - I fear I had scared you off when I dusted off some of my old attire, Master Damian," Alfred joked warmly as he followed Freddy's gaze while Tim made introductions and some casual banter was had (without any acknowledgemet that people would receive less than his normal forms of address) before he spun - decidedly spun - on the heels of an old pair of boots. "I may not be about soon, but feel free to help yourself to anything we have out if you're lingering up here,"

Clearing his throat and making a point to gather people's attention, Alfred positioned himself in front of the impromptu armory and set his water bottle down atop it before gesturing to the forest. "You may have gathered our quarry is somewhere in there - and in the interest of sport, and admittedly a bit of boredom, i've secured some permissions to allow us to deal with the damnable boar ourselves. I've only seen the one, rooting up some of the grounds and I think it's -just- our size."

"Safety is paramount though," he explained, growing rather stern as he surveyed those about. "It's important we stay on line, and at least within sight of another if you're going to be heading in, and those who are staying behind -stay- just that. Behind."

Dragging a chest out from beneath the table, the butler turned big game hunter revealed a number of brightly colored hunting vests and proceeded to don one before resuming what was either an intimately familiar memory, or else a well rehearsed speech.

Alfred's tone suggested an old field marshal or the like as he continued explaining some pointed rules and demonstrations on firearm safety (to include specific warnings about fields of fire and the lake) before inviting those joining him to 'jock up,' as he curiously put it, and leading those who elected to toward the edge of the forest as if marching on parade. Reliving some memory indeed.

Freddy Freeman has posed:
"Hey!" Freddy says, eyes glittering, when Damian comes up behind him. "I was just kinda sort meeting everyone." He lowers his voice and murmurs to Damian, "There's s'lot a important people here." It's not enough to dampen Freddy's warm expression but there some notes of concern.

Having heard Emiko previously mentioning her name to Alfred and Jim, he cants his head to one side curiously. When Emiko returns his 'hi' he blurts out, "Hi. I'm Freddy! Are you...do you know Bart Allen?"

Freddy was juuuust opening his mouth to say hello to Lonnie when Tim introduces himself as Damian's brother. Freddy peers at him with some kind of expression between nervousness and concern? He grips the small horizontal handle on his crutch with both hands and leans on it a bit more. "hello" (lower-case 'h') is all he can manage to Tim as he watches him curiously. Freddy surreptitiously releases his right hand from the crutch handle and gently tugs on one of Damian's fingers.

That's about when Alfred begins the speech. He listens carefully before leaning his head to say to Damian, "Are you goin' hunting, Wayne? I don't even know how to use a gun. You wanna teach me? I'll take out those commie boars big time!!!"

Jim Gordon has posed:
Jim Gordon would give a smile at Emiko, "Of course." He would offer and then turn his attention over to Alfred over and then look over at the bright and peppy teenagers and young adults. Muttering under his breath, no doubt legible to the numerous people who could read lips 'We talking about the boar or the kids'?
As he would glance over at the hunting weapons and vests he would go to let out a sigh. "Safety first." HE would go to be the first one over to take out one of the brightly flared up jackets to go put it on and then offer. "So are we going to be doing fly fishing later on?" Paying attention specifically over to the instructions given by Alfred and trying to review memories from earlier in life.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian gives Tim a look, a look of something precious of his will be destroyed because of this. He casually looks to Freddy and asks him back. "If you want to go. I've played enough Call of Duty to know what we're doing. Commie...boars? How many of Alfred's cookies did you eat?"

He looks over to the table of weapons. And back to Alfred with a bit of an impish grin. "VIEW HULOO!" He calls out, before laughing more than a fair amount.

Emiko Queen has posed:
"It's nice to meet you Freddy," Emiko offers a quick grin towards him, then gives a nod, "Bart is my boyfriend. He's how I met Tim, though Tim and I have since formed a separate friendship built on the need to destroy one another in strategy games." She flicks a quick glance towards Tim and gives a cheeky smile.

Alfred's instructions and rules are listened to carefully before she moves to take a vest from the chest, slipping into it and moving to the table, selecting a rifle from it and getting it loaded quickly and efficiently. Keeping it pointed at the ground, she moves to join Alfred and Jim with a smile, "I'll try not to hold you two up out there."

Tim Drake has posed:
That Look only has Tim grinning even wider than before, if such a thing is even possible. His eyebrows lift as he tilts his head towards Damian, looking back and forth between him and Freddy for a couple of seconds, before he shrugs. "I'll sit this one out--keep an eye on things here. But you should go, Lonnie. I think Emi's already signed herself up."

Which gives him basically uninterrupted access to all of the snacks Alfred's prepared, and that's something to focus on rather than acknowledge Jim's surreptitious glances. Nothing to see here, folks.

"There are plenty of animals being kept on the estate," he points out while somehow keeping a straight face about the whole 'commie boars' thing. Admittedly many of said animals are part of Damian's herd of found-pets, but it's a rich estate in the countryside (as far as anywhere in Jersey could be considered country side). There are probably horses, at the very least. "Wild pigs and boars carry E. coli and salmonella. So it can't be helped." And that's about as supportive of this whole endeavor Tim can be.

Lonnie Machin has posed:
Lonnie furrows his forehead and seems reluctant. "I don't know..." He says. "This is really Bourgeois for me." He crosses his arms, and adjusts his sunglasses. "...What do you plan to do with the meat?" He asks, almost as an afterthought.

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
"Well, I suppose i'll resume my more mundane duties and hopefully have it cooked up by evening - you're all free to take leftovers, and whatever's left will be donated to the Martha Wayne Foudation," Alfred explains matter of factly as he helped with some of those last minute preparations and instruction for those less than sure of themselves.

There's a roll of his eyes as Alfred joins Damian in a moment of self-deprecating laughter, but not even the teen's wit could damper his jovial spirits as he lead the group toward the edge of the woods - thick enough to offer some pleasantly cool shade, but not so thick as to hamper their movements or visibility too much. Retrieving some shells from a battered old pouch on his belt, Alfred slotted them into the barrels of his own choice of firearm as he squinted into the depths for a moment before turning back.

"The thing shouldn't be too hard to find, if we go about this the boring way. We can fan out and proceed from east to west and hopefully drive the thing out of whereever its home - no need for heroics or the like. It -does- have tusks though, so I caution you all to be careful."

Freddy Freeman has posed:
Freddy leans in and hits the side of his head up against the side of Damian's. "I'm really nervous," he whispers, but his good-natured grin and sparkling eyes never once fade. Also whispered, "Imma go meet your dad!"

Freddy doesn't really know most of the people here, and names have been flying around so fast he is missing most of them. So he hobbles over with his cane to Jim Gordon. Walk-thunk-walk-thunk-walk-thunk. Right up the man. "Hello, sir," Freddy says to Jim. "It's an honor t'meet you, sir. You must be Mr. Wayne." He holds his thin hand and scrawny arm out for a shake to "Bruce Wayne."

Jim Gordon has posed:
Jim Gordon would glance down at Freddy Freeman, "No, young man, it's all right. And I think you have me mistaken for someone else. Mister Wayne is among many things not prone to going to the outdoors and enjoying his estate, at least by the popular estimation of him." Jim makes a joke. He knows that Bruce does much, much more than he's given remotely credit for. How much.. Jim doesn't know. Just that the man doesn't match his persona.
"Jim Gordon. Pleasure to meet you." He doesn't give any particular context over for who he is or what he does. "I just used to know Thomas in passing. Bruce's father. Very, very distantly."

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian's eyes go a bit wide as Freddy introduces himself to 'Bruce'. "H-hey Freddy...that's Commissioner Gordon, of the GCPD. A friend of the family."

Damian keeps close to Freddy while he makes his way around with the other young man.

"So, you wanna meet him, my father, I mean. I could make that happen."

Emiko Queen has posed:
"The 'boring way' suggests that there is another way you would prefer to approach the situtation." Emiko's tone is laden with amusement at the idea of this being the 'boring way'. She flicks a quick sidelong glance at Alfred, a smile threatening at her lips. There's a brief pause as Freddy goes to introduce himself to 'Bruce Wayne', biting the insides of her lips and looking away quickly.

Then she's calling back to Jim, "So, ah, Jim! What sort of lures do you favor with your fly fishing?" He mentioned it, seems a good way to help extract people from the awkward situation! She may also be glancing back towards Tim and Lonnie with SO MANY unspoken questions.

Lonnie Machin has posed:
"Well, that's - not TOO bad." Lonnie says. "But I wouldn't know anything about how to use this-" He picks up the boar spear with one hand and tests its weight, surreptitiously, before he puts it back down. He absolutely knows how to use it. Then he looks over at Tim and says, "Hey. HEY!" And wanders off to go fight with his boyfriend a bit about eating all the Jammy Dodgers. "Don't capitalist those cookies-"

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Closing the breech of his shotgun and checking the safety routinely, Alfred waved a hand about vaguely toward the spears at Lonnie and Emiko's comments. "When I was a bit more spry I actually took a trip - it must have been two or three years before I moved here to Gotham - boar hunting with spears," he explained with a proud grin. "You bait them while hiding in a pit and then spring out and give them the business end." The story was casual, but as it came to a close he trailed off for just a moment as his gaze fell toward Damian.

He was pulled from the reverie at Freddy's introduction to 'Bruce Wayne' and snorted in amusement as the confusion was cleared up and then he began to point out some spots for entry into the wood. "I think if we just spread out in a line along here we should have a decent chance - whoever is on the far right of our little band though should be mindful of the lake, in case we flush it out of the woods altogether."

With those final considerations he took up a spot close to Damian on the line, keeping a careful eye on all of the youth as he waved a hand to signal 'forward' with a steely expression. He was certainly enjoying himself.

Jim Gordon has posed:
Jim Gordon would lpay attentiont o Alfred while he would explain the prpoer protocols and listen over to Alfred. "With all you've been through I keep on wondering if you weren't there with Winston Churchill when he was making his way through South Africa over the Boer War." He would note, drolly.
Jim would smile at Emiko, "The point of fly fishing is to enjoy yourself. The lure is based on where you are, what you're after.. If you want to be really honest, most times it's everything random you have stuck in your hat."

Freddy Freeman has posed:
Freddy's face and ears burn hot red when he realizes his mistake. He mistook some dude named Jim for *THE* Bruce Wayne. But then Damian moves closer to him and explains the real depth of his error: this is the Police Commissioner of Gotham! If comic books have taught him anything about police commissioners, this dude probably drinks really strong coffee, smells like cigars, and doesn't take an ounce of nonsense from anyone!!! Freddy reaches out with his non-crutch hand and grasps Damian's hand as he stares intently at not-Bruce-Wayne. "I'm...I'm sorry."

Hey. At least it answers the questions of 'Does Freddy ever stop smiling like an idiot?' Yes. Yes he does.

He looks at Damian as the kid mentions meeting his real father. "I...well, yeah. Of course. And my parents said you should come over for dinner some night. My mom is a baller cook dude!"

Damian Wayne has posed:
     Damian holds Freddy's hand supportively.

Though the time comes to start hunting, Damian almost wished he conscripted a horse for the occasion to put himself and Freddy on, but no worries. He continued on with a rifle, going along with Freddy's pace.

"Breach, bolt, trigger, muzzle." He released the magazine, and examined the chamber. "Make sure debris is clear, pull the bolt, then forward, the gun is loaded at that point." Closing the bolt before placing the magazine back. "The chamber is empty." He wouldnt charge it until the boar had been seen.

Tim Drake has posed:
Meanwhile, back at basecamp (so to speak):

"I'm just saying, the quality you get from the big publishers is, on the whole, more consistent than what you get from indy stuff." The Jammy Dodgers are safe, because apparently Tim and Lonnie are engaged in some sort of heated discussion. Which pauses long enough for Tim to shoot double thumbs-up towards Emiko as the hunting group vanishes towards the wooded areas of the manor. "If her capabilities in Starcraft are anything to go by, she's going to destroy that boar before it even knows what hit it."

Tim's only a little bitter about it, it's fine.

Lonnie Machin has posed:
"And it's all a bunch of artless treacle! Have you SEEN the offerings from the Big Three? It's all a bunch of sadistic ungrounded garbage, penned by writers who are *barely* hiding the authoritarian allegiances those companies' original creators were speaking out against. It'd be funny if it wasn't so vile-" Lonnie looks up and then gives a soft grunt of assent. "Still mad because she beat you?" He cuts Tim off from whatever he'd be saying next by breaking a peanut butter biscuit in half and pushing it into his mouth. "Here. Carbs."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
The woods were very woodsy. Sylvan, even, as some writers might redundantly say. As the group made their way under the boughs in one form or another Alfred made sure to keep an eye up and down the line between occasionally scanning the ground for any kind of sign and occasionally canting his head to the side in favor of one ear or another.

While certainly different from tracking in the city, there was certainly evidence there to find of something large - and potentially invasive - having taken up residence in the area relatively recently: things like spoor, broken branches, and disturbed undergrowth or the like.

Emiko Queen has posed:
Emiko glances sidelong to Jim and chuckles, "I have to admit, fishing has always been more of a 'need to eat' than a 'for fun' situation for me. But I understand that it's a popular pasttime to just relax and unwind for many. I use gardening for my 'zen' times, but maybe I'll have to give fishing for fun a try sometime. I just always found fly fishing to be interesting given how different it is from the other types."

She offers a thumbsup back to Tim before disappearing into the woodline and spreading out a bit at Alfred's instruction so they can try to scare up a wild boar. For her part, she moves silently, each footfall carefully placed for minimal noise. She can't help it, it's ingrained, muscle memory.

Emi also makes up for it by trying to keep up a light patter of conversation, "Hey Freddy. You asked if I knew Bart. Does that mean you know him? He's a good person to know! And he gives the /best/ tours at the Gotham Zoo."

Freddy Freeman has posed:
Freddy sure ain't hunting. He doesn't know the first thing about guns or spears. Plus he can pretty much only hold a weapon in one hand unless he's standing still and doesn't want to move. But he seems to be genuinely enjoying just being around people. He's quick to smile, easy to talk to, and just a lil pain in the ass hobbling around with his crutch without a care in the world. Well, except for maybe his social faux pas with Commissioner Not-Bruce-Wayne. Plus Damian's being badass enough for both of them.

"Oh yeah!" he says excitedly to Emiko. "Me and Bart been friends for a few years. He's a good dude. We know, uh, we know a *lot* 'bout each other." He momentarily makes pointed eye contact with Emiko.

Jim Gordon has posed:
And Jim is going along ever so slowly. It's interesting. And he's made sure to not have his weapon loaded. The safety is on, the gun is pointing at the ground, and the rounds are over in a pocket just to be sure. He's just taking the time to enjoy nature and follow the back and forth conversation.
There's a smile on his face that there's no one around to see as the group is spread out. The kids are enjoying themselves.
