Clean-Up in the Garage
Date of Scene:	11 August 2022
Location:	Sublevel 1 - Garage - The Roost
Synopsis:	Phoebe and Bart spent a little time re-connecting in the Garage as she cleans and restocks her bike. Bart is shown the injury that is stopping Phoebe from speaking.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    "Well I'm a-runnin' down the road tryin' loosen my load, got seven women on my mind; four who wanna hold me, two who wanna scold me one says she's a friend of mine." croons the Eagles as Phoebe works in the garage.

    Idu relaxes on a cot to the side, off the garage Floor as he watches with interest as Phoebe follows the instructions on how to tune a motorcycle. The cafe rider that she's been using has a couple of updates, including detatchable 'saddle bags', which she's currently restocking with medical materials.

    She's sitting on the floor, a pale orange bandana wrapped around her short hair to keep it from getting anything in it as she works. She's nodding along witht he music, a couple of tools in a little bucket with her.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen comes in from doing a store run and stocking up the kitchen. He figures he would check see who is about and that brings Bart zooming into a stop in his street clothes. He has a large sub sandwich in his hands and when he sees Phoebe and Idu, he stops "Hey you, how ya doing?" He will ask, as he walks over to see what Phoebe is doing.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe looks up to bart, and she gives a bright smile and a wave to Bart. Idu gives a yodel of greeting, and then purposefully walks as if his front leg is lame from the unicorn fight, and goes to lean against BArt and beg for part of his sandwich, all puppy-dog eyes as those baby blues look up to Bart.

    Phoebe leans back on her thighs a moment and wipes her hand across her forehead, and gives a shrug in reply to the 'how you doin'. she points to Bart and and raises her eyebrows -- how YOU doin'?

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will look down and pulls off a piece of the meat to give to the dog, and says "Oh yes poor Idu." He says remembering seeing the wounds healing on folks and knowing Phoebe would have healed him for sure. "I am doing ok, just brought in groceries and restocked? You want anything?" He offers as he will get it for her. The hand that fed Idu is used to pet him some after letting him have the snack

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Poor Idu. He gives a whimper, and then after consuming the meat he wags his tail and accepts the pettings, making sure that there's no trace of meat on Bart's fingers.

    Phoebe, on the other hand, shakes her head. She pulls up her water bottle next to her and gives it a shake.

    Phoebe then gives a wry smile as sne stretches her arms up over her head, then signs to Bart: How's your girlfriend?

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over and says "She is doing good, she is at home with the boys, she had a late night on patrol last night." He tells her, and finishes most of his sandwich in a blur and saves a little bit more meat for Idu, and squats down to pet the dog giving him the last bit and easier to talk to Phoebe. "Glad to see ya back around more often." He tells her.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Idu consumes the sandwich and tailwags more, leaning up against Bart with abject adoration.

    Phoebe gives a small smile, and she refills some of the gauze on her bike, busying her hands. Which are shaking.

    She pauses to look over to Bart and sign:
    -Just here to refill some supplies. I'm trying to give Tim space. Everyone space.- she replies, and she gives an 'oh!', and pulls out a little vial on a thin chain, and points to Bart. It has some very thin, fine hair in it, in snowy white.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen 's brow raises a bit and says "I think I missed something, why would you want to give us space your our friend Phoebe, we like having you about." And he is sincere about it one of the things about Bart, he is a sincere friend to his friends. Idu gets attention but not all of it. Then the vial "Whats that?"

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe pauses a moment, and she hands the vial over to Bart, and holds up one finger, and puts it to her forehead before she blows through her lips like a horse.

    And then she signs:

    -Do you remember, when I was living in New York, if being around him would make me act more like him?- she inquires, and she leans her head back a moment, and then adds on:

    -I broke Tim's trust in me. And made J-o-n and C-h-a-s angry with me. I thought it would be best to give distance and see if people wanted to be around me.- she replies with a shrug of her shoulders.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will start to reach out to put a hand on her shoulder but stops and says "Phoebe we all go through times and things but we want to be around you your our friend. " He wants to put his hand on her shoulder, but resists. His other hand takes "Oh this is hair from one of the unicorns?" He blinks at that.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe gives an affirmative nod to Bart witht he question of the product in the vial.

    -Three genuine unicorn fur strands. It's amazing what a magician can do with a magical creature of a lint roller- she signs, and she breathes out.

    -I know, Bart. I'm sorry. Someday maybe the whole 'being friends' thing will stick- she gives a wan smile to him.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to her and looks to the vial and says "Can I hug you?" He asks permission looking to really want to hug her and thank her.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoeebs releases a breath she wasn't aware she was holding, her shoulders relaxing as she appears to consider, and then gives a smile and a nod ; yeah, Bart's on the short list of people who can hug her.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will step in and hugs her and says "Thank you thank you." He then steps back and says "Um, I was thinking about something but not sure if it would work... I might be able to help you heal faster."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe blinks a moment as she looks at Bart.

    And then she hesitantly points to her throat, and raises her eyebrows as her head tilts -- this she's gotta hear.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, and says "Maybe... He will look to her and pockets the vial she gave him, and says "Wally has taught me a new trick, you seen how Thunder went super fast a couple times when I was riding him?" He asks her, and continues "Wally has taught me to lend and take speed from things and people and such. I might be able to lend you some speed, and then you would have my healing speed with your own super healing."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    -I'm not sure if it would work.- she replies, after a moment of thought. Phoebe hops to her feet, and considers, stepping lightly as she paces. -Not sure if it would do anything because it is not a normal wound. not even a normal magical wound-.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to her, and says "I am not sure either, but if you want to give it a try we can, if it does not work should not be a problem. It is not a normal or normal magical wound?"

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe leans back on her heels a moment.

    -Demon ripped out my larynx and vocal chords while I was binding. It was a bit of a mess. I D U saved me.- she replies in sign, and then motions over to the dog.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over to Idu, and says "He is a good dog, I am glad you have him with you." He hmms, and says "May I?" He motions towards her neck, wishing to check her out a bit.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe looks to bart with mild amusement, as Bart regards Idu as a good dog.

    Idu looks up, his tail wagging happily.

    And then Phoebe balks a moment at Bart wanting to check out the injury.

    She shrugs, and she reaches up and undoes the wide silk collar she'd taken to wearing. And then unpins her gauze, and winds it up slowly in a practiced manner, keeping everything neat and tidy.

    And when she removes the final pad, she tilts her head back, and lets Bart see.

    Three slices taken out of her neck. A mixture of cauterization, burning the flesh around and sharp-as-onyx-blades talons that had done the damage. It smells a bit like a cigarette, a bit like burning flesh, a bit like fresh blood. Phoebe's tilt of her head causes some red to slowly ooze out from the wounds. Bart can see to the back of her treachea. The wounds don't look like they've healed -- they look like they're cauterized and possibly getting infected.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to her, and says "You know I am not a human doctor, but you need someone to help take care of that." He looks to her, and says "Will you come up to the med lab and let me clean it for you? You look after us, let me look after you... Have you tried cleaning it with holy water?"

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe gets the Wet Cat expression.

    -No. I lived by myself for a whole month after doing the dumb thing and cleaned it with dirt after walking Idu.- she replies with sarcasm, and she begins to wrap it up again, slowly. She can't use sign while she's wrapping it, but she gives a gentle smile to Bart to let him know that the statement wasn't intended to carry venom. She sinks back down to the floor, and then leans back on her palms a moment in contemplation.

    -I think I have to fight her again, Bart.- she signs, -I think she might kill me the next time we do fight.-

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to her, and says "You do not have to fight her alone, we will help you and be there with you." He frowns a bit at her not letting him help clean it but does not press it. "You do not have to be alone, even if there is hurt feelings somewhere amongst friends, we are still friends, just like you would be there for any of us in the drop of a hat, we would be there for you if you let us."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    -I don't trust myself to protect you all from the worst of it. Possession is dangerous.- Phoebe signs, and she tips her head. -That's why I couldn't come back.0

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to her, and says "Teach us how to protect ourselves from it. Trust in your friends Phoebe. We trust you." He looks to her, and says "I see some of the old you still there and while you might not go back to her, you can be a happy you if you embrace the good parts of life and let those who care in."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    -Teach?- phoebe's eyebrows rise up, and then draw down. -How can I teach you to protect yourselves when I can't even protect myself? I failed, Bart. I failed the JLD, I failed the Outsiders, Tim, Zee, everyone.- She breathes out.

    Idu's ears rise up, and he hops off his cot, walking over.

    -And that's OK. I failed. I lived, too. But there is not an 'old me' and a 'new me'. There is just Me. An imperfect person. And I'm okay with that too.-

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to her, and says "Well I don't feel you failed us, and maybe work with some of us and we can find a way together. Look we got a unicorn to go home, and got to ride kangas together we can do anything together.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    -Bart I do not think you are capable of feeling like a friend failed you.- Phoebe signs back with a rueful smile, and she taps her cheek. -One more unicorn, tomorrow night I should be ready to summon it. And then the Ringmaster. And then maybe I can just take a breath.-

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods a bit and smirks a bit to her and says "Just cause I choose to see the best in folks does not mean I can't see bad stuff, but you have been trying and doing what you can. So, have you been able to find any information about the ringmaster?

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe shakes her head. -No, even at Zatanna's library I haven't found anything that fits him exactly. He's either a manifestation of a different variety, something new all together, but more likely I'm missing something.-

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hmms and says "I do wonder if I sometimes would not be more useful if I just went and read everything I could and see if I could use my speed that way to help others. It is one of the things I can do the others can't/

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe makes a slight face, and she looks to Bart -Do you hav e absolute retention over what you've read? I mean, I could cram and study for a test, but it doesn't do much unless I retain the information as well.- she points out

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, and says "Yea, everything I read I remember, I read the San Francisco library, after my knee injury, it was sorta when I grew up a bit." He admits to her.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe just stares at Bart with a wet cat expression.

    -Unfair.- she signs, and then flops bonelessly backwards with defeat, scattering a couple boxes of rainbow bandaids.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen shrugs and says "It is pretty much just I who can do it, Wally, or Max did not think it was fair either if that helps." He offers her a goofy smile and is off and back, with soda and little debbie as a bribe.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    -Unfair, but acceptable.- Phoebe signs in the air, and she takes the Little Debbie snacks. Omnom.

    -Thank you for being there, Bart. It does mean a lot to me.-

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen offers another smile and says "I try to be there, and thank you for the unicorn hair, I was wondering what actually cleared the scales away from it?

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Phoebe gives a smile.

    -Freedom- she signs from the floor, and takes a bite out of her Little Debbie Birthday Cake snackbar.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hmmms and nods his head a bit to this in thought and hmms softly "Well we will help the next one too."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    -I'd be glad for your and Thunder's help.- Phoebe replies, tilting her head and looking back at Bart with a small smile.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen smiles and says "Hey maybe we can bring your friend to, if you have enough scarves to bribe him with." He jokes

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    -Maybe.- Phoebe gives a wry grin and she stretches her arms, and gives a bit of a whistle. Idu, who had been on alert, comes over and just sort of... flops on her stomach.
